According to professional house-buying Property Solvers’ speed of sale tool, it takes an average of 19.09 weeks to sell a property across the area. 

Updated monthly, the latest dataset analysed more than 470 property sales across the region between March 2023 and March 2024.

The statistics track the moment a property is listed on the UK’s leading property portals to the point it’s marked as officially “sold” at the HM Land Registry.

Broken down across the borough, properties were selling the fastest in Bolton (BL1), Bolton (BL2) and Bolton (BL7).

In the top five areas, Property Solvers revealed that homes took 128.80 days (18.40 weeks) to sell on average.

Homes were selling the slowest in the Bolton (BL4), Bolton (BL5) and Bury (BL8) postcodes. 

In the bottom five postcodes, the data showed that properties were taking 138.40 days (19.77 weeks) to sell on average.

Ruban Selvanayagam of Property Solvers said: “While we’re starting to see some noticeable improvements into 2024, the continued pressures on the mortgage sector and buyers’ ability to secure the right kind of finance has resulted in delays with sales completing.
