Bolton man Dominic Lloyd tragically died at the age of 24 after his car collided with a bridge between junction 19 of the Heywood Interchange and 18 for Simister Island on the M62 on the evening of Sunday, March 2.
No other vehicles are believed to have been involved, and Mr Lloyd’s family have now paid tribute to a son, brother and grandson they say was “always full of enjoyment”.
A spokesperson for the family said: “The first words that come to mind when we describe “Dom”, our loving son, brother and grandson, would be “caring”, “focused” and a “true gentleman”.
“Dom truly was a wonderful person who always put others before himself.

“He had so much care and love in his heart and genuinely cared about those around him, always offering support whenever he felt it might be needed.
“He was extremely funny and although he loved to torment people, it was clear that this was only done jokingly and it never did anybody any harm, quite to the contrary, it cheered people up no-end and everybody described him as a complete gentleman who wasn’t a typical 24-year-old.
“He was thoughtful, he was generous, he was respectful and he was very mature and unwaveringly focused on his future and on his career.
“He brightened up a room with his presence and his massive smile.

“One of his dreams was to buy his mum, Claire, a white Range Rover Sport as that is her dream car.
“He liked playing team sports such as paddle ball, go-karting, table-tennis, pool and football. He had so many friends who enjoyed these things with him.
“Although he had lots of friends, he was not a drinker. He was very much into socialising, but you would sooner find him eating out with his friends or family at a new place than in a pub or bar.
“He would often travel quite considerable distances to try different eateries! He also enjoyed walking, particularly in summer.
“You would never see him in the summer months because he would always be out exploring some new outdoor place!
“He also very much liked to play on his game’s consoles, go to the cinema and watch a good TV programme. He definitely loved a good Netflix binge!

“To sum up our wonderful son, he was just truly an amazing young man. He was wickedly funny, staunchly loyal and caring towards his friends and family and was incredibly optimistic. He had his whole future planned out.
“He knew exactly what he wanted to achieve in life.
“As a family, we are just completely devastated by his death and the loss really is unbearable to us all.
“We will miss him always.”
