» Two arrested after car stopped off Wigan Road, Bolton



Officers stopped the car off Wigan Road in Daubhill after having first spotted it being driven in the town centre.

On stopping it they say they found several suspicious documents.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “A suspicious vehicle which has been sighted in Bolton town centre, believed to be attempting to sell an electric bike from back of the vehicle.

“PC 3691 Shezad along with traffic officers have spotted the vehicle nearby, stopping it off of Wigan Road. 

“The driver has given a sample of saliva for roadside testing, which came back positive for cocaine. 

“A number of documents attributed to other people were located inside the car, along with an electric bike, believed to be stolen.

“The male driver, aged 50, has been arrested on suspicion of S5a driving whilst under the influence of drugs, theft, and fraud.

“The female passenger, aged 36, has been arrested on suspicion of theft and fraud.”
