Traffic will not be able to turn left from University Way near Bolton town centre onto Deane Road tonight, April 24.
The road, which connects Derby Street with Deane Road, will close “approximately” from 8pm to 5am tomorrow for telecoms works.
It will be open in the opposite direction, going from Deane Road to Derby Street.

A diversion route of around a mile long will be in place, heading straight over the junction up Mayor Street, right down Spa Road and right again onto Moor Lane, which will lead traffic onto Deane Road.
A traffic order on Bolton Council‘s website says: “The Council intends to make an order, operative from 24 April 2025 overnight from 8pm to 5am approximately, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic proceeding on University Way to turn left onto Deane Rd.
“This is to allow telecoms works to take place. Alternate route will be via Mayor St, Spa Rd, Moor Ln. The Order will end after 18 months or on completion of the works whichever first occurs.”
