The England national team’s latest World Cup qualifier against Latvia will be airing on ITV today from 7pm to 10.05pm.
As a result, both Emmerdale and Coronation Street have been moved off their usual early evening slots.
However, soap fans won’t have to miss out for too long, as episodes of both soaps will air tomorrow night (Tuesday, March 25) instead.
We’re not on this evening… I know, we’re gutted too!
Here’s the schedule for this week, and remember you can catch us at 7am on ITVX.#Emmerdale @ITV @ITVX pic.twitter.com/9W1JrBFCFO

An extended hour-long Emmerdale episode will air at 7pm on Tuesday, followed by an hour-long episode of Coronation Street at 8pm, the Radio Times reports.
Additionally, both episodes will be available to watch on ITVX from 7am that morning.
In terms of what will be happening in the next Emmerdale episode, the Radio Times says: “Over in the Dales, Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) steps up his search for answers over Anthony Fox’s mystery disappearance, while romance brews for Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) and newcomer Kammy (Shebz Miah).”
The Longest-Running UK Soaps
After the official Emmerdale account on X (formerly known as Twitter) shared the news that Monday night’s episode had been moved some fans expressed their annoyance.
One person wrote: “I know it’s not Emmerdale’s fault it’s @ITV but it’s happening more & more often because of sport.
“Given the first 1/2 hour will just be talking before the match even starts, Emmerdale still could have been shown. Less talking, just show the game & leave our soap alone.”

A third said: “Why can’t the episode go on to itvx today? I think it’s about time ITV had their own sports channel!!”
However, not everyone agreed with this sentiment, as another said: “Why? ITV is the main designated football channel and sport channel. It’s been explained many times. Surely people can live without soaps for a day.”
