A body has been found in the massive search for a kayaker who was reported missing at a popular tourist spot.

Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of the missing kayaker, a man in his 40s, has been made aware of the development, the Mirror reports.
Police were called at 3.50pm on Saturday, January 24 to reports of concern for a kayaker in the river. It is understood that the man had got into difficulty near Great Western Bridge, and his kayak was later recovered in the search.
A huge emergency service presence was noticeable near the riverside in Tiverton, just after 5.30pm on Saturday as the search escalated. Police, fire, and ambulance crews were seen near the water in the following days. Over the weekend there was bad weather especially in the South West with yellow weather warnings in place for rain and the possibility of flooding on saturated ground.
At the time Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police are asking for the public’s help following reports of an unidentified kayaker believed to be in distress on the River Exe in the Tiverton area.”
