Kim Tate’s (Claire King) got a hell of a lot going on right now in Emmerdale, hasn’t she?

She’s just lost her daughter in law Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) to a cataclysmic car accident, and the fallout has turned her step-grandson-turned-pseudo-son Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) into a vitriolic, ice-cold monster, with his mind solely fixed on the pursuit of revenge.

Oh, and the daughter she gave up for adoption 26 years ago, DS Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge), has suddenly re-emerged as a vengeful police officer, determined to wreak abject havoc on her life.

Nope, can’t forget that bit!

As of right now, Kim has no idea that the scheming copper who’s made no bones about the fact that she’s out to get her is actually the daughter she gave up once upon a time in a land not-so-far-away.

Memories of the adoption have been plaguing her, though, as Joe has pledged to hand over his baby boy – the baby Dawn gave birth to before her untimely demise, in a move that looks set to rip the remnants of the Tate family apart.

When she was last asked about just when Kim would discover the truth about Thea, Claire said: ‘There’s quite a long way to go before we get to the reaction, because of certain storylines.

‘There are a lot of ins and outs and ups and downs on the route to that.’

Well, a recent jaunt on This Morning revealed that the date has been decided when Kim will discover the truth: at the apex of the upcoming spooky season!

‘She’s hounding Kim because she’s being vengeful,’ Claire said, referencing Thea’s alliance with Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy). ‘Kim doesn’t know yet, but she will find out!

‘It’s Halloween – so something happens at Halloween and they find out.’

I don’t know about you, but something about that seems absolutely perfect, doesn’t it?

Claire also teased an event that Emmerdale fans the world over have been hoping and praying for: Kim Tate vs Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) and admitted that while a full-on blood feud has yet to occur, the bitchy barbs that both femme fatales are adored for have come out!

‘We haven’t had a lot together,’ Claire began.

‘We’re kind of on parallel lines at the moment – and she’s working really hard as well.

‘But we’re not crossing that much. I’ve no doubt that we will do, but we’ve had a bit of Alexis and Krystle in the village.’

Claire also revealed a backstage secret: while Kim and Sadie are natural enemies off-screen, she and Patsy are roommates off-screen!

‘We share a dressing room as well. We’re like ‘do you remember this in 1983?’ and the others are going ‘I wasn’t even born then!”

Teasing how busy she’s been recently, Claire said: ‘You’ve constantly got a script in your hands.

‘Last night was the first time I didn’t, because they don’t come out until today.

‘I get reams of dialogue. We get them two weeks prior to actually filming them, but of course during those two weeks, you’re actually filming another 50 scenes.

‘And it’s relentless at the moment because we’ve got full-on stories.’

I mean, the more Kim the better for us, but we get it!

This week’s episodes of Emmerdale sees Dawn’s funeral finally arrive, and Kim is unshakeable in her attempts to hold what’s left of her crumbling family together; though while she’s focussed on baby Tate, Joe has an entirely different and more terrifying plan altogether…

Brooklyn Beckham and Paris Hilton led tributes to their friend Presley Gerber following his tragic death aged just 27.

On Sunday, it was announced that Presley, whose mother is supermodel Cindy Crawford and father is entrepreneur Rande Gerber, has died in a rehab facility following a years-long struggle with drugs, panic attacks and his mental health. 

Social media was awash with messages from friends including messages from Brooklyn, 27, Paris, 45, and Brody Jenner, 43.

Brooklyn took to Instagram to share an image showing him and Presley posing together alongside the caption: ‘I am so heartbroken. Presley you were the kindest and we are going to miss you somuch x we love you.’ 

Paris commented on the model’s final Instagram post just hours before news of his passing, before posting an Instagram story of herself with Presley with the caption: ‘I’m completely heartbroken. I still can’t believe this is real…

‘Presley, you were such a beautiful soul. So sweet, sensitive, kind and genuine. I cared about you so much, and I’m going to miss you more than words can say.’ 

Paris commented on the model’s final Instagram post just hours before news of his passing, before posting an Instagram story of herself with Presley with the caption: ‘I’m completely heartbroken. I still can’t believe this is real’ 

Paris was joined by Brody Jenner in commenting on his final post 

The star added that she will ‘cherish the memories’ that they made over the years, including ‘the laughs, the conversations, and just being around you’.

She continued: ‘You had such a gentle heart and there was something so special about you that anyone who was lucky enough to know you could feel…

‘I hope you knew how deeply loved you were and how many people cared about you. My heart is with your entire family during this unimaginable time. Rest in peace, my friend. Love you forever. You will be so deeply missed.’

Brooklyn took to Instagram to share an image showing him and Presley posing together alongside the caption: ‘I am so heartbroken. Presley you were the kindest and we are going to miss you somuch x we love you.’ 

Only hours before news of his shock passing came to light, Paris had commented on the final post, which saw him modeling clothes from the brand Vuori. She wrote: ‘Love you bro,’ she wrote with a heart-face emoji and the heart hands emoji. 

The Hills star Brody also posted on Presley’s final Instagram post from last month to share a dove and broken heart emoji with the words: ‘love you brother’.

Others sent messages and condolences to Presley’s family, as one fan commented: ‘Omg Presley. No words, such aa kind soul. Rest easy, sending so much love.’

Entertainment journalist Jason Kennedy wrote: ‘Love you Presley.’

Presley had been inactive on his main feed since sharing the post last month.

His mental health issues have been well-documented and in March he discussed doing an Ibogaine treatment in Mexico.

Ibogaine is a naturally occurring psychoactive substance derived from an African shrub that is reported to help withdrawal symptoms and reset brain pathways. 

After Presley wrote about his experience, his family left supportive comments, with Cindy writing: ‘You are a warrior! Walked thru the fire to find yourself! So proud!’

His supermodel and actress sister Kaia Gerber added: ‘That’s my brother. I am so damn proud.’

And his dad similarly gushed: ‘I’m so proud of you and your courage. Facing what’s hard takes real strength and watching you find your way back to yourself is everything. I love you so much.’

‘My mantras were love yourself and lis gotta be the last time for this reason. letting go of control didn’t come easy, but I trusted there was something bigger than me guiding it. I knew why i was there. I faced what I had been running from, and somewhere in all of it, i started finding my way back to myself…. We shall see…. Praying it’s the last time I have to come back…

His death comes just weeks after his younger sister Kaia opened up about the enormous toll her brother’s struggles had taken on their famous family. 

In admitting the turmoil had effectively ‘leveled everyone,’ she told Vogue: ‘When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone.’

A 76-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were both arrested following the heated dispute in Vouliagmeni on Sunday

An 82-year-old man has died following what is believed to be a violent dispute over a sun lounger at a popular tourist beach.

Police officers were called to the scene at Vouliagmeni, Greece, on Sunday morning, following the incident.

According to reports, the pensioner had just arrived at the busy spot when a row broke out with another beachgoer – identified as a 76-year-old man ‘unknown to him’, reports the M.E.N..

The situation escalated when others allegedly joined in, with Greek state broadcaster ERT reporting that “it seems that people who were with [the assailant] also participated”.

The elderly gentleman is understood to have suffered cardiac arrest during the incident and was given CPR on site. He was transported to the nearby Asklepieion Hospital in Voula in a critical state, but died at approximately 11am local time.

A post-mortem examination has been requested to determine his actual cause of death.

The 82-year-old had been visiting the seaside with his wife. A police source commented, according to reports: “The incident is under investigation.”

They added: “In Greece, disagreement is expressed vocally, with a lot of screaming and shouting, not in fistfights like this – especially between two elderly men. I think that’s why it is so shocking.”

Police, meanwhile, arrested a 76-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman at the scene on Sunday. The elderly man remains in remand at the Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni Police Station, while the woman, 21, has since been released following police questioning, as per To Vima.

The manager of the beach bar where the sun loungers were situated was also summoned by police to provide a statement. Authorities confirmed “all those” implicated in the incident would be brought before a Magistrate.

Jose Mourinho produced printer out images of controversial incidents in a derby rant after Real Madrid fell to Atletico Madrid.

Mourinho hit out at the officials following his side’s 2-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid, claiming Diego Simeone’s side could have had two red cards in the first half.

The pressure increases on Mourinho, with the result following a 1-0 loss to Real Betis earlier in September to leave them six points off leaders Barcelona.

“We can skip the press conference because the story of the match is right here,” Mourinho said, while flagging the pieces of paper with the images and screenshots of the moments he was aggrieved by.

“Those were two clear red cards. Given the difficulties we faced afterwards playing 11 against 10, we can only imagine what 50 minutes of 11 against nine would have been like.

“So I’ll just have to limit myself to hugging my players, who gave it their all and played a first half, showed great class and character, setting us up perfectly to win the second half.”

Mourinho then added that he hoped the decisions were merely mistakes before praising his side’s cohesion.

“I want to believe they are simply mistakes, just as a coach makes mistakes, just as a player makes mistakes,” he said.

“I liked my team as a unit. Even in the first half I really liked them, and in the second half it was obviously very difficult to get the ball and to stop Atleti’s possession. I liked their pride, I liked their determination, and it’s a good feeling for me to not be disappointed in my players”.

Diego Simeone, in victory, refused to be drawn into a dispute with Mourinho, instead underlining a need for managers to be careful with their words.

The full statement issued by National Highways this morning reads: “On the M62 eastbound there are delays of 90 minutes due to a collision closing 2 lanes (of 3) between J24 Ainley Top Interchange (Huddersfield, Halifax A629) and J25 Clifton Interchange (Brighouse, Dewsbury A644).

“The collision involved a van and a car.

Andrew Jennison, 65, of Albert Close, Huntington, was convicted in his absence of careless driving on the M1 in Derbyshire after he failed to attend his trial at Derby Magistrates’ Court.

He was fined £300, ordered to pay £300 prosecution costs and a £120 statutory surcharge and given four penalty points.

Five cases were heard at Harrogate Magistrates Court.

Krzysztof Lewomdowski, 40, of Gladstone Road, Scarborough, was convicted in his absence of driving without insurance and without a licence on the A59 near its junction with the A1.

He was fined £660, ordered to pay £120 prosecution costs and a £264 statutory surcharge and given six penalty points.

Jamie Entwistle, 26, of Murrayfield Gardens, Whitby, was convicted in his absence of driving without insurance and using a car without a valid MOT certificate, both committed on the A171 at Whitby.

He was banned from driving for six months, fined £450 and ordered to pay £120 prosecution costs and a £180 statutory surcharge.

Jamie Brown, 36, of Barkers Lane, Snainton, Scarborough, was convicted in his absence of failure to provide information about the driver of his Mercedes Sprinter when it was allegedly committing an offence.

He was banned from driving for six months, fined £660 and ordered to pay £120 prosecution costs and a £264 statutory surcharge.

Mark Estill, 40, of Fylingthorpe, Whitby, was convicted in his absence of failure to tell police who was driving his car when it was allegedly committing an offence.

He was banned from driving for six months, fined £440 and ordered to pay £120 prosecution costs and a £176 statutory surcharge.

Daniel Russell, 48, of Yew Tree Close, Rufforth, pleaded guilty to speeding on the A64 at Stutton near Tadcaster.

He was banned from driving for six months, fined £384 and ordered to pay a £154 statutory surcharge and £120 prosecution costs.

Barclays has announced plans to open new bank branches

Barclays has issued a significant announcement on its plans for UK branches. The bank stated it “continues to strengthen its presence in communities across the UK, as it announces investment in branches around the country as part of a broader programme to modernise and evolve its physical network”.

New branches are set to open in Poole and Bishops Stortford this September, with additional openings scheduled before the year’s end, including one in Beverley during November. These relocations and refurbishments are taking place alongside the continued rollout of Premier Suites and the introduction of smart ATMs, the bank confirmed.

Barclays acknowledged that, while “customers increasingly choose digital banking for everyday transactions”, it recognises “that many of life’s most important financial decisions still benefit from expert guidance and face-to-face support”.

The bank explained that these latest developments have been “informed by customer demand and growth opportunities” and are “designed to bring together the best of both worlds: the convenience of digital and self-service banking, alongside access to expert colleagues when customers need it most”.

The new branches in Poole, Bishop’s Stortford and Beverley “reflect changing customer needs”, according to Barclays. In addition to self-service technology for routine transactions, they will feature consultation rooms, private meeting spaces and access to specialist support for customers requiring guidance on more complex banking needs or key life events.

Barclays also announced it had recently extended opening hours across its entire branch network, creating more than 60,000 additional hours of in-branch availability each year.
