Ruth Carr’s six-year-old has yet to record a victory this year but his handicap mark has dropped to the exact same figure off which he registered his last two successes.

Running off today’s mark of 82 he won a valuable handicap at York in May last year and struck again at the end of September over today’s course and distance from the same rating. That followed a solid effort in the Silver Cup in which he finished eighth of 25, five lengths behind Candy from a 4lb high handicap mark.

On his latest start he finished fifth at Ripon, keeping on towards the end after breaking slowly. If he gets away cleanly this time he will outrun his odds.

Earlier BEAUTIFUL DIAMOND can deliver a fourth win in the Listed Arron Scottish Sprint EBF Fillies’ Stakes (3.05, NAP) for trainer Karl Burke.
