President Donald Trump accused the Biden administration and FBI of mishandling the investigation into the 2024 assassination attempt against him, claiming newly discovered information shows key evidence was missing, altered or corrupted.

“Everybody knows the Crooked Joe Biden FBI didn’t do what they should have with respect to the Lunatic who shot me in Butler, PA. By the time I got into Office, on January 20th, most of the information was missing, altered, corrupted, or gone,” Trump posted Tuesday on Truth Social.

There is no evidence that Democrats were involved in the attempted assassination of Trump.

The president continued, “New info was just found! Why wasn’t it seen long ago? This was all a Democrat Plot, to get me out of the Election, that failed. Dirty Cop Christopher Wray should pay a price for the way he handled this assassination attempt, and certainly for the things he said.

“GOD BLESS AMERICA — MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump concluded.

A pick-up truck reportedly hit four pedestrians before colliding with two other cars

Two people are dead and four others seriously injured after pedestrians and other vehicles were reportedly hit by a pick-up truck close to a busy shopping outlet.

The “multiple-vehicle collision” happened at around 11am on Sunday, on White Rose Way in Doncaster, close to the Lakeside Village outlet shopping centre.

A black Mitsubishi L200 reportedly hit four pedestrians on the carriageway before colliding with a black Audi and silver BMW moving in the other direction on the other side of the road, South Yorkshire Police said.

Two pedestrians died at the scene and four other people were taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, the force added.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 30-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and driving while unfit.

He has been bailed pending further inquiries.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman confirmed that there was no police involvement prior to the crash, and that the driver was arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive due to drugs.

The force is appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.

A senior councillor has spoken about the situation.

Stockport would have to give up ‘substantially more green belt’ land to hit government housing targets, a senior councillor has said.

The Lib Dem-run council is moving ahead with its local plan with an aim of building at least 24,253 new homes up to 2042, with around 8,000 based in the town centre.

But the figure is short of the 32,317 homes which the borough has been assessed as needing.

Stockport council has assessed the numbers of homes it can build and the draft local plan aims to provide as many as possible given the borough’s wider constraints, including infrastructure.

Councillor Jake Austin, Stockport council’s cabinet member for housing, said ramping up housebuilding beyond its own draft local plan could lead to a massive loss of protected land.

Stockport council was previously preparing a local plan in 2024 but the work was hit with delays after the Labour government raised housebuilding targets.

Councillor Austin said government changes to housing requirements and its green belt policy ‘continues to cause concern for residents across Stockport’.

He added: “The introduction of significantly higher housing requirements, changes to green belt policy, and the concept of grey belt have fundamentally changed the planning context for which this plan has been prepared over the last few years.

“But I can oppose those aspects of the national planning framework whilst still recognising our responsibilities as an administration and as a council to produce a local plan for Stockport within that framework.

“The evidence before us today shows that officers have worked hard to maximise brownfield opportunities, carefully assess constraints, minimise green belt release wherever possible, and take on board the comments and concerns raised through our regulation 18 consultation.

“It also shows the consequences of attempting to move further towards the government’s housing requirement, members should be honest that doing so would require substantially more green belt than is currently proposed.”

The comments were made at an extraordinary council meeting held on Monday (September 14) about how Stockport’s draft local plan is progressing.

The next step is for the plan to be published for consultation under a provision known as regulation 19.

Labour Councillor Claire Vibert said: “In terms of having a local plan, time is of the essence, we do need to get on with it, we’ve needed to get on with it for quite some time but it’s got the point now where it is urgent that we get on with it.

“Having an up-to date-plan is something that we desperately need here in Stockport because it allows us take responsibility, that you as an administration [the Lib Dems] need to take on in terms of the development of homes, employment space, infrastructure, transport, all of that.

“That’s why we need a local plan and that’s how we protect our green spaces for everyone. It’s also how we avoid those costly legal challenges that we’ve had from developers, as you’ll be well aware led to the council losing public money.”

Ed Sheeran has addressed Macklemore being removed from his tour after his ‘Free Palestine‘ speech upset the owners of venues they were set to play.

The singer, 35, released a statement on Tuesday, addressing the American star’s position and reminding fans he will never personally take a publicly political stance.

Ed, who is a father of two, said that his audience is often young people ‘from different backgrounds’, who do not expect his shows to be a political forum.

The Shape Of You hitmaker assured fans that Macklemore’s removal would not affect his tour, as he told them ‘I would never let down the fans who had made plans’.

In Ed’s reaction, which came two days after Macklemore’s own statement, he said: ‘I am appalled by the conflict between Israel and Palestine. 

‘The suffering and pain caused on both sides is a human tragedy. There are too many wars across the world causing immeasurable pain, none of which should be tolerated.

‘Macklemore asked to join my tour last year and I agreed, because I respect him as an artist. As with all my support acts, I agree that they play a setlist of their choosing.

‘After Macklemore’s performances at my New Jersey shows, venues on my upcoming tour dates communicated that they would pull the shows if he was still supporting.’

Ed continued by explaining that he had tried to find a resolution so that Macklemore could remain on his tour, but he was not able to.

He said: ‘I was informed that this stance was based on how Macklemore conveyed part of his message during his performance, rather than on everything that was said. I spoke with the venues at length all week to try and build a bridge.

‘One of those people was Robert Kraft. I was also involved in direct talks with promoters along with activists on both sides to try and find a mutual resolution for all, but the venue’s and promoter’s decision was final.

‘Macklemore coming off tour was the promoter’s decision, it was not mine. Macklemore’s contract for the tour was with the promoter, not me.’

Ed then explained that there would be no alterations to the tour he has planned because he would never let his fans down.

He said: ‘I would never let down the fans who had made plans, nor would I abandon the touring crew and the other support acts and musicians who rely on me for work and to make a living.

‘I have always used my platform and music to bring people from all backgrounds and cultures together and this won’t ever change. Those who have been to one of my shows will know that they are about unity, joy, escapism, love, and a place for everyone to feel welcome.

‘I am not complicit. I have my personal views on this devastating conflict. Just because I choose not to speak publicly, it doesn’t mean I don’t have them, and it doesn’t mean I don’t care. Nor does it mean I don’t support causes in my own, personal way.

‘There is a reason I do not use my professional platform for politics – my audience includes young people, often children, of all backgrounds. Those who come to my shows do not expect a political forum. 

‘I respect Macklemore’s strength of purpose to stand up and shout for what he believes. However, there is room for multiple approaches to the same end: peace. I choose to use my fame and platform to be a place of safety and sanctuary, to maintain diplomacy and keep conversations open, not closed. If we only focus on shouting the loudest, nothing will ever change.

‘There are different approaches to being an advocate for change. I have spent this week trying to build bridges, to find a solution and unfortunately, was unable to do so. I know who I am, both as a person and as an artist, and those who know my heart know my values too.’

The drama started when Macklemore used his opening set to chant ‘Free Palestine’ and deliver a politically motivated speech.

Macklemore stated that every human being deserves the same freedom, and told the crowd he wanted people in Gaza and the occupied West Bank to know they had not been forgotten.

He then performed his protest song Hind’s Hall while images of the devastation in Gaza were projected on the big screens at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Macklemore also faced a boycott petition calling for his removal from Sheeran’s tour for the blunt and direct language he used onstage.

He was the opening act for Sheeran’s LOOP tour on two consecutive nights, September 4 and September 5, at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium.

Macklemore has also previously voiced support for Palestinians and called out Israel’s conduct in Gaza and the occupied West Bank and has continued doing so for years.

As seen in fan-taken footage, he wore a keffiyeh at one point during his set.

During his performance, he said he had a message to share with the Palestinian people and wanted them to know ‘they have not been forgotten’.

He said: ‘One of the reasons why I wanted to come on this tour was because I wanted to stand up here on stages in stadiums across America and say two words that are very near and dear to my heart: Free Palestine. I said, Free Palestine!

‘I want those words to be loud and clear so that people from Gaza, all the way to the occupied West Bank know that we have not forgotten them.’

Macklemore also added: ‘I believe that every human being walking on this earth deserves exactly the same freedom, to know safety and peace before knowing the sounds of violence.’

During his speech, he referred to ICE as a ‘terrorist organization’ before shouting: ‘Free Palestine’ and ‘Free Cuba, Congo, Sudan and Iran’.

The Israeli-American Council drew up a petition insisting he should be dropped from the remaining dates of Sheeran’s tour.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Macklemore’s representatives for comment.

It wasn’t known how many signatures the petition collected.

The group’s petition read: ‘This was an Ed Sheeran concert – not a political rally, not a protest, and not an activist event. The issue is not whether Macklemore has the right to hold political views.

‘The question is where the line should be drawn when an opening act uses a global concert platform to advance a one-sided political agenda.’

Fan reaction was split on social media after the two shows, with some defending his onstage war comments as others accused him of anti-Semitic rhetoric.

Meanwhile, Pink weighed in on Macklemore’s recent controversy, amid calls from fans for the rapper to be removed from the tour.

The singer, 47, reposted an Instagram Story from StopAntisemitism, which slammed Macklemore’s performance.

The caption on the post read: ‘Awful – Jewish fans bought tickets to see Ed Sheeran sing last night in NJ, not to be ambushed by Macklemore’s anti-Israel propaganda.

‘Instead, Macklemore walked onstage in a keffiyeh, shouted “Free Palestine,” accused Israel of a false “genocide,” and turned a mainstream event into a political nightmare against the Jewish state. Concert-goers are owed apologies and refunds.’

In response, Macklemore appeared to double down on his comments last week, as he posted a clip of his speech from MetLife Stadium with the caption: ‘Wanting all humans to be treated equal should never be controversial’.

Pink did not add any additional commentary aside from re-sharing the post.

The Daily Mail has also reached out to representatives for Pink and Sheeran for comment but has yet to hear back.

In his apology after the Jewish caricature controversy, he said: ‘There is no worse feeling than being misunderstood, especially when people are hurt or offended… I respect all cultures and all people.

‘I would never intentionally put down anybody for the fabric that makes them who they are. 

‘I love human beings, love originality, and… happen to love a weird outfit from time to time.’

Macklemore added that he never thought he looked Jewish.

‘Some people there thought I looked like Ringo, some Abe Lincoln. If anything, I thought I looked like Humpty Hump with a bowl cut,’ he added.

Draper will not qualify for a protected ranking if he does return in January, as only those who are out for over six months are able to retain the ranking they had when they left the tour.

He is currently ranked 155, which means he would require wildcards or have to come through qualifying to play in Grand Slams and ATP Tour events.

But none of that will worry him if he is able to play freely and without so much pain.

Draper peaked at four in the world last June after winning a first Masters 1000 title in Indian Wells and finishing runner-up at another in Madrid.

He is expected to make a gradual return to training over the next few weeks, as his team try to work out the principal causes of the injury.

The families of Letby’s victims have been waiting years for answers. They have said that the government must fully implement the recommendations of the inquiry into the killer nurse.

“While no system can guarantee the prevention of criminal acts by a determined individual, patients, families and clinicians are entitled to expect that their concerns will be listened to and that those concerns will be investigated properly and acted upon.”

She added: “The key questions are whether the systems, culture and governance within our NHS were sufficiently robust to identify risks and respond to them appropriately and where, in this instance, those systems have failed.

“With the families, we will consider Lady Justice Thirlwall’s findings carefully, but whatever the detail of the report, it is vital that lessons are learned and any recommendations are implemented by the UK Government so that confidence in patient safety is strengthened.

“Families need to have confidence that everything possible is being done to prevent similar failings happening again, whether in Chester or elsewhere in the NHS.”

It’s been more than six years since teenager Noah Donohoe was found dead 600m into a freezing underground water tunnel in Belfast.

His death – and the speculation over what happened to him in the week between his daylight disappearance and the discovery of his body – became a huge news story that provoked countless unanswered questions.

Now, after an inquest and months of exhaustive hearings and long deliberations by a jury, there is a verdict – but much is still unknown about what happened to Noah.

Why, the night before he disappeared, did he leave his home in the middle of the rain-soaked night? Where did he go? Why did he come back 34 minutes later, as documented by CCTV, barefoot?

Hours later, on Sunday 21 June 2020, he left the south Belfast home he shared with his mother for the final time.

Why did he leave and go to an unfamiliar part of north Belfast? Why was the teenager naked when he was last seen in the area of the water tunnel entrance?

And what might have been if he had seen the social media message sent him by one of two friends he planned to meet in north Belfast telling him their plans were cancelled?

An autopsy found Noah had died from drowning, with the tunnel he was found in heading towards Belfast Lough and its tides.

Now, after years of delays, a jury has found that it was possible, but not probable, that failings by the Department of Infrastructure over the tunnel in which he was found contribute to his death.

They also found 13 failings by the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) but that these did not in any way contribute to the 14-year-old’s death.

Having spent months in court following all the evidence, it was clearly not an easy process for the men and women of the jury.

They heard from dozens of witnesses and received voluminous amounts of official and expert documentation.

This week they deliberated on Monday and Tuesday. But it came more than two months after the inquest was dramatically adjourned in the early hours after three days of deliberations did not lead to a verdict.
