🚨 Die Bank für Internationalen Zahlungsausgleich hat einen neuen Bericht veröffentlicht und darin spielt ausgerechnet der XRP Ledger eine zentrale Rolle. Die BIS gilt als Bank der Zentralbanken und genau deshalb ist interessant, wofür das Netzwerk tatsächlich eingesetzt wurde.

Im Video schauen wir uns den neuen BIS Prototypen genauer an. Offizielle Wirtschaftsdaten werden dabei kryptografisch abgesichert und der Nachweis anschließend auf dem XRP Ledger gespeichert. Laut den vorgestellten Testergebnissen dauert die Veröffentlichung nur rund 3 bis 5 Sekunden und die spätere Prüfung etwa 1 bis 2 Sekunden.

Besonders spannend ist die Begründung für den XRP Ledger: Verfügbarkeit, niedrige Kosten und politische Eignung. Zusätzlich verweist der Bericht auf die lange Betriebshistorie des Netzwerks. Wichtig bleibt aber: Es handelt sich um einen Machbarkeitsnachweis und noch nicht um eine fertige produktive Lösung.

Parallel passiert im traditionellen Bankensystem etwas Großes. 21 internationale Finanzhäuser, darunter Bank of America, Citi, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, UBS und Wells Fargo, bauen gemeinsam einen neuen Stablecoin. Welche Blockchain dafür verwendet wird, ist bislang noch offen.

Auch die US Börsenaufsicht bewegt sich weiter Richtung Blockchain. Ein neuer Vorschlag könnte Blockchains künftig sogar als offizielles Register für Wertpapiere ermöglichen. Am 17. September folgt zusätzlich eine Gesprächsrunde mit großen Börsen und Finanzhäusern zum Handel rund um die Uhr.

Und während diese Infrastruktur entsteht, fließt weiter Kapital in XRP. US XRP Produkte verzeichneten 11 Handelstage in Folge Zuflüsse von insgesamt rund 170 Millionen Dollar. Gleichzeitig sind innerhalb weniger Monate rund 500 Millionen XRP von Binance abgeflossen und auf dem XRP Ledger wurden bereits mehr als 3,5 Millionen Zahlungen durch Softwareagenten abgewickelt.

Die entscheidende Frage: Ist der BIS Bericht nur ein interessanter technischer Test oder sehen wir gerade, wie der XRP Ledger Stück für Stück in genau die Infrastruktur hineinwächst, die Banken und Kapitalmärkte für die nächste Generation des Finanzsystems benötigen?

The crypto industry’s biggest legislative bet is being put to the test as Congress prepares to return from its August recess. Lobbyists and lawmakers are sifting through the Clarity Act in hopes of passing the comprehensive crypto rulebook before the midterm elections. But the industry is signaling waning confidence that the bill will pass, and is instead looking to other agencies like the SEC and CFTC to regulate the industry without Clarity.
