2026 NFL Combine Invitees from Programs in the West
The NFL has released its list of players invited to the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine.
A total of 319 prospects have been invited to attend this year’s event, which will take place in Indianapolis from February 23 through March 2.
Among them are 43 former players from schools in the West. Oregon accounts for nine of them, followed by USC with seven. Utah and Washington each have five, and Arizona State has four. No other program has more than three.
You’ll find a breakdown by school below the list of players.
The event will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium. Top college prospects are invited to perform on-field drills, participate in medical exams, and meet with NFL coaches and executives. Fans can attend the free Combine Experience from February 26 to March 1, 2026.
You can view historical results for the 40-yard dash, vertical jump, and bench press for players from college programs in the West at these links.
With increasing interest in the NFL Draft, the scouting combine has grown in scope and significance, allowing personnel directors to evaluate upcoming prospects in a standardized setting.
Player performances during the combine can affect their draft status and initial salary.
The draft has popularized the term “workout warrior,” whereby an average or subpar athlete’s “draft stock” is increased based on superior measurable qualities such as size, speed, and strength.
In addition to the 40-yard dash, bench press, and vertical jump, the tests also include a broad jump, 20-yard shuttle, 3-cone drill, 60-yard shuttle, and position-specific drills.
Before the drills, players go through interviews, physical measurements, injury evaluations, drug screening, and the Cybex test. (The Wonderlic test has been discontinued.)

Arne Slot urges Liverpool to find consistency after victory at Sunderland
Arne Slot wants Liverpool to find some consistency after they edged closer to the top four with a 1-0 win at Sunderland.
Following a disappointing defeat to Manchester City on Sunday, the Reds responded with a hard-fought victory which ended the Black Cats’ unbeaten run of 12 Premier League games at the Stadium of Light this season.
Florian Wirtz put the post in the first half, but Liverpool eventually struck after the break when Mohamed Salah’s corner was flicked on by Virgil van Dijk, with the ball bouncing off Habib Diarra’s head and in at the back post.
The win moves Liverpool three points away from the top four and two points behind fifth-placed Chelsea, but Slot was pleased to see his side capitalise from a set-piece goal as they target the Champions League spots.
He said: “We’ve shown that response so many times already this season. Now it’s about the consistency and the results.
“It’s not a coincidence that we win here tonight or that we won our games because we’re usually the better team on the pitch.
“It’s more surprising to see that from all the times we were the better team we didn’t make wins, but actually today you could see the reason why.
“If you create so many chances and also moments where we could have four versus three situations, three versus two situations, and that should with the quality we have – and that will by the way – leads to us scoring more goals.
“In the end we needed a set piece to score and we usually have against these teams set pieces, but we usually, people at Liverpool will tell you, don’t score from a set piece.
“Tonight we did and that’s the biggest difference between Burnley at home, I can come up with Leeds away, Leeds at home, all these games where we’ve dropped points.”
The Liverpool boss also revealed he is expecting Wataru Endo to be sidelined for a period of time after the full-back was carried off on a stretcher during the second half following an awkward landing, with Joe Gomez coming on to replace him.
Speaking about the injury, Slot said: “It is a serious one. How serious we don’t know yet because then of course he has to be assessed tomorrow, but it doesn’t look good.
“It’s his foot, but if it’s his ankle or his foot that is what we have to assess tomorrow, but I assume that he will be out for a long time. What is long, that is difficult to say this moment.”
Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris believes small margins defined the game as they drop to 11th in the table.
Despite a solid defensive effort throughout, the Black Cats endured their eighth league loss of the campaign.
Le Bris said: “They were good, mature, smart, agile. Many good players with experience.
“The first half was a bit tough because we didn’t find the right position to be close to duel them. We sat, we wasted a bit of energy during this part and with the ball it was difficult.
“We tried, it was a bit better during the second half, but they scored on set pieces. Small margins defined this kind of game.”

Big Tech enters cricket ecosystem as ICC partners Google ahead of T20 WC | T20 World Cup 2026
Under the partnership, Google Gemini has been named the Official AI Fan Companion, while Google Pixel will serve as the Official Smartphone of the tournament. The collaboration is aimed at expanding digital touchpoints across the fan journey, from content discovery and interactive experiences to in-stadium engagement.
“This partnership brings together two global organisations united by consumer focus, scale, purpose and innovation,” ICC chief executive Sanjog Gupta said in a media release. “Google’s leadership in connection, search and discovery and artificial intelligence aligns strongly with the ICC’s ambition to serve fans better. Together, we will use technology to deepen engagement, enhance experiences and make cricket more accessible and meaningful for fans worldwide.”
“We are bringing together Gemini’s generative capabilities and Pixel’s advanced imaging to deliver features that empower fans with new avenues for creativity and celebration,” said Shekar Khosla, vice-president of marketing at Google India. “We are excited to see how these innovations help a new generation of digital-first fans engage with the sport.”
Interactive features and content tools
The partnership has been launched with an interactive campaign titled Craziest Fan Kaun, which allows users to create personalised avatars using Gemini’s image-generation capabilities. Selected participants will receive an in-stadium experience at a World Cup match, wearing artificial intelligence-designed looks created through the platform.
Beyond campaigns, Gemini will be integrated into the fan experience through a dedicated “Explore Cricket” section within the application. The feature will offer interactive tools such as simplified explanations of complex rules, quizzes, player-guessing games and creative challenges related to cricket formats, with content updated weekly.
Pixel’s role in match coverage
As the Official Smartphone, Google Pixel will be used to capture high-quality visuals from within stadiums, leveraging advanced camera and video capabilities. The content will be distributed across digital platforms to provide additional perspectives of match action.
The ICC said the features announced so far represent the initial phase of the partnership, with additional artificial intelligence-driven tools to be introduced closer to the tournament. The collaboration reflects a broader trend in global sports, where governing bodies and technology firms are increasingly using generative artificial intelligence to reshape fan engagement and digital strategy.

Hubert Davis drops blunt 4-word reaction after UNC star Caleb Wilson’s tense moment against Miami
Hubert Davis brushed off concerns about Caleb Wilson’s injury scare during UNC’s road loss to the Miami Hurricanes on Tuesday. The forward appeared to have suffered an injury to his left hand early in the second half, forcing him to leave the game.
He was attended to by the Tar Heels staff before he went into the locker room. However, he reentered the game with 8:47 minutes left on the clock. When Davis was asked after the game about the freshman’s situation, the coach retorted with a four-word response. He said:
“There was no situation.”
The coach was further asked whether the injury affected Wilson’s performance. He added:
“Not to my knowledge.”
Wilson turned out the worst scoring tally of his freshman season so far in the loss, with 12 points and six rebounds in 26 minutes. Ironically, the Tar Heels’ previous game against Duke saw Wilson deliver one of his best performances of the season so far. He played all 40 minutes against the Blue Devils, scoring 23 points.
Wilson has averaged 19.8 points and 9.4 rebounds so far this season. He is considered a potential top five pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. However, his primary focus for now will be bouncing back from his disappointing outing against Miami with a win in the next game.
The Tar Heels’ loss against Miami has been blamed on the hangover from the win against Duke, but Hubert Davis has brushed off such claims. The coach said during the post-game interview:
“I respectfully disagree with the hangover thing. I don’t believe in that.”
What Hubert Davis’ reaction to Caleb Wilson’s injury concerns mean for UNC
Hubert Davis’ dismissal of the injury concerns about Caleb Wilson seems reasonable in light of the forward’s return to the game on Tuesday. Tar Heels fans can heave a sigh of relief, as it would appear they have nothing to worry about concerning the star. However, his performance when UNC hosts Pitt on Saturday will further convince the fans or raise their concerns.
The Tar Heels (19-5) have a pretty tight schedule as the regular season draws closer to a conclusion. Their next game after hosting Pitt on Saturday will see them visit rival NC State next Tuesday. They face Syracuse next before games against Louisville, Virginia Tech, Clemson, and Duke.
Davis is still in search of his first national title as UNC’s head coach.

Premier League: Marc Guehi opens up on January move to Manchester City | Football News
As Manchester City looks to reclaim Premier League dominance after a mid-season hiccup, their squad has received a boost with the arrivals of Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guéhi. Both players, speaking exclusively on JioHotstar, shared their insights on what it means to join one of the world’s most successful football clubs, their personal growth journeys, and their goals for the future.
On City’s Target Player Profile
Manchester City’s scouting team is known for targeting players with a unique skill set, and Antoine Semenyo is no exception. Reflecting on the type of player City looks for, Semenyo stated: “City is looking for players who are powerful, quick, strong and clinical, and I believe this is the level I’m working towards. I still don’t think I’ve reached my peak and there’s a lot of learning ahead. Joining City is the best step for my development, with the best coaches and top players around me, I’m confident it will help take my game to the next level.”
Resilience and Mental Strength
Marc Guéhi: Ready for the Next Step
For Marc Guéhi, joining Manchester City is an opportunity to further refine his game. Speaking candidly, he outlined his approach to the game: “To be honest, I don’t have any single standout attribute, but I’d say I’m well-rounded and balanced across the board. What I can bring is calmness, a level head, and the qualities of a strong teammate.”
Rapid Improvement and Surrounding Support
Guéhi acknowledges the role that key mentors and his environment have played in his rapid rise in recent seasons. “I’m grateful to have good people around me who constantly push me. As they say, you’re a product of your environment, and I’m the result of having those individuals who support and challenge me every day. I’m thankful they’re in my life, helping me get better.”
Honour and Drive to Improve
Reflecting on what it means to play for a club like Manchester City, Guéhi couldn’t help but express his pride. “It’s an incredible honour to play for a club of this stature. I’ve always been obsessed with getting better and constantly improving, and this feels like the perfect environment to do that. I’ve heard so much about the setup, the fans, the world-class players and the manager; it’s the right place for me to grow, while bringing my qualities to help everyone here succeed.”
Developing Leadership Skills at Manchester City
While Guéhi’s leadership qualities have been noted by others, he’s focused on continuing his growth as a leader within the team. “I’m not entirely sure where it comes from, to be honest; it’s something others have noticed more than I have. I just try to be myself, and since getting those captaincy opportunities, I’ve worked hard to improve and refine those skills. Hopefully, here I can keep developing by learning from the other leaders in this squad.”
The Premier League is heating up, and with new signings like Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guéhi, Manchester City is more determined than ever to reclaim the title. Don’t miss out on the action – catch every match LIVE & exclusive on Star Sports Network and JioHotstar.

Pep Guardiola anger cannot change Man City mood after Erling Haaland celebration
Manchester City did the damage in the first half against Fulham before Pep Guardiola grew increasingly annoyed as the match went on
Matheus Nunes passed the ball out of play and Pep Guardiola had seen enough. The Manchester City manager jabbed angrily to his assistant Pep Lijnders, lashed out an arm to summon Abdukodir Khusanov and the next time the ball went out of play Nunes’s night was over.
Once again, Guardiola must have been asking how it had come to this. City had been all over a poor Fulham from the first whistle and were three goals to the good by half-time. Surely their spell of not turning up for a second half would end against such poor opposition when they had all the momentum?
Apparently not. For the umpteenth time, City came out after the break looking like a side that had never played together before as their manager shouted himself hoarse on the touchline trying to snap them out of it. Fulham weren’t good enough to capitalise, yet other teams already have and more will do so in future if it isn’t improved.

That is why Guardiola struck such a note of caution in his press conference days after beating Liverpool, knowing that his team need to be far more consistent across 90 minutes and solve their weird disappearing act in games if they are to push Arsenal all the way. What came before the second half, though, is the sort of consistency that means they are now just three points off top spot in the Premier League.
Despite a slow start in attack, City’s three banks of two ahead of the defence worked again with Nico O’Reilly and his towering frame growing every game into the midfield battle and Phil Foden energetic in his first league start since derby defeat last month. With a charitable Sander Berge chipping in to help an errant City attack by gifting the ball to Antoine Semenyo in the six-yard box, the hosts were on their way and never looked back.
A slick counter-attack helped by Haaland saw Nico O’Reilly exchange passes with Semenyo and clip the ball past Bernd Leno. City’s No.9 was clattered into moments after sending the ball but the fact that several players rushed to him when the ball went in despite him being 40 yards back reflected the contribution.
City’s No.9 was then fed by Foden and slotted in his 29th goal of the season from outside of the box to finish the game before half-time. If you could make the case that Fulham had turned up, nobody needed to in the second half.
Except City did if they wanted to show that they were making the progress that Guardiola wants them to. They didn’t, and that brought his anger on them before he turned fire on the referee and earned yet another booking.

That will all need work, but City now have nine days before their next league game and another week after that to get on the training ground to make those tweaks. For now, being three points behind Arsenal is enough and if they are any closer than nine behind when they next kick off given the Gunners now play twice then this result will feel even better.

Lionel Messi picks up hamstring injury just days before Inter Miami’s opener
Only 10 days before their MLS regular season opener, Inter Miami may be without star man Lionel Messi. The club announced that the Argentine number 10 has suffered a hamstring strain during their most recent friendly, a 2-2 draw against Barcelona SC in Ecuador. Messi scored a goal and assisted another in that match, but the Herons are rightfully being cautious with his return to play, treating it as a day-to-day injury.
“Messi did not participate in training this Wednesday, February 11, due to a muscle strain in his left hamstring sustained during the match against Barcelona SC in Ecuador, which has persisted since then,” Miami said in a statement.
Miami open their season with quite a challenge, travelling to the LA Memorial Coliseum to face Heung-min Son, Denis Bouanga, and Los Angeles FC on Feb. 21 in a match of two of the top contenders for MLS Cup. There’s a chance that Miami will have to do that without the reigning MLS MVP as Messi looks to win the award for the third consecutive season.
At 38 years old and also looking to lead Argentina at the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, it’s critical for manager Javier Mascherano and Miami to not push Messi because having him for the full season is more important than having him for the first game. It’s a long season in MLS, and the more games in the long run that the Herons can have with Messi available the better.
This will be a good time to ensure that new singing German Berterame is set to lead the line while improving creativity around the squad. Last season, Messi tallied the second-most goal contributions in league history with 48 from 29 goals and 19 assists, while also becoming the second player in league history to lead the league in both goals and assists alongside Sebastian Giovinco when he was with Toronto FC.
The Herons will take part in three competitions this season, which is an improvement from last season when they were in four due to Club World Cup commitments. They enter the Concacaf Champions Cup in the round of 16 and will also take part in the Leagues Cup and MLS play. Between all those competitions, Mascherano will need his entire squad at his disposal, especially when MLS doesn’t pause for international breaks except during the World Cup.
In April, the Herons are also set to open their new home, Miami Freedom Park, which is another part of their history that they’ll want Messi on the field for. He signed a contract extension through 2028 from the grounds of the new stadium and will be one of many draws for the club, having their games properly in Miami instead of their current stadium in Fort Lauderdale. The soccer-specific complex will help usher in a new era for the club after Messi already helped take them to a new level, bringing two trophies and a Club World Cup knockout stage appearance.

France’s Cizeron, Fournier Beaudry win ice dance gold at 2026 Olympics
French figure skaters Guillaume Cizeron and Laurence Fournier Beaudry pulled off an incredible exploit on Wednesday, winning Olympic gold in ice dancing after skating together for just a year.
Cizeron, 31, and 33-year-old Fournier Beaudry, took the title ahead of reigning world champions Madison Chock and Evan Bates of the USA after the free dance finale.
Canadians Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier took bronze.
For Cizeron it is a second consecutive Olympic ice dance gold after he won the title at the Beijing Winter Olympics four years ago with Gabriella Papadakis.
Cizeron and Papadakis retired from competition following their fifth world title in 2022 and he teamed up last March with his close friend, Fournier Beaudry.
Cizeron and Fournier Beaudry had taken a slim 0.46-point lead over the Americans going into the free dance finale at the Milano Ice Skating Arena.

The Americans, who are friends, training partners in Montreal and rivals of the French, presented a fiery flamenco to an orchestral rendition of the Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black”.
But skating last, the French concluded their competition with a mesmerising routine set to the powerful soundtrack of the 2022 film “The Whale.”
They finished 1.43 points ahead of the three-time world champions.
Gilles and Poirier snatched bronze with their Vincent van Gogh tribute to the music of “Starry, Starry Night”, which received huge cheers and pushed Italian couple Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri into fourth place.
Fournier Beaudry, a Canadian who received French citizenship last November, had been available after the suspension of her former partner, Nikolaj Sorensen, who was implicated in a 2012 sexual abuse case in Canada, which he has denied. Sorensen was in the crowd in Milan.
On the road to the Games, the French couple experienced a tumultuous season.
Three weeks before the Games, they found themselves embroiled in controversy when Papadakis published a book that caused a huge stir.
In it, she harshly criticised her former partner, claiming she had been under his “control” during their time skating together.

Super Bowl LXI Long Shots: Who Could Be Next Year’s Seattle Seahawks?
At the start of this past season, the Seattle Seahawks were +6000 to win the Super Bowl. Their odds were so long in August that even the Arizona Cardinals were shorter favorites.
Seattle managed to turn things around quickly.
But which long-shot teams could have their moment in the sun this upcoming year?
Pittsburgh Steelers (+6000)
I’ve gone on record saying the Mike Tomlin era had run its course. He still looks like a Hall of Fame coach (and if Bill Belichick isn’t one, then who is?), but sometimes both sides need a clean slate.
The AFC North had a bit of a down year, yet Pittsburgh is once again the reigning division champion.
The defense is beginning to age, but it can still be good enough — provided the offense isn’t an automatic three-and-out machine.
If the Steelers move on from Rodgers and hit on a quarterback in free agency, they could be legitimate surprise contenders. For a long shot, this feels like a team that could offer a very positive cashout opportunity by midseason.
Washington Commanders (+6000)
Does anyone remember that Washington was one game away from the Super Bowl in 2025?
The Commanders didn’t get much grace for the injury bug that plagued them last season. That could resurface — they still have one of the oldest rosters in the league — but I’m willing to bet on a Jayden Daniels resurgence. Daniels is only one year removed from one of the best rookie seasons we’ve ever seen. Washington also has a much easier schedule this year, and adding someone like Caleb Downs in the first round could help patch up defensive issues.
If Daniels and Terry McLaurin stay healthy for a full season, I’ll keep the faith in Washington as a long shot.
Halfway through last season, the Colts were 7-1 and eyeing a first-round bye. A few weeks later, Daniel Jones’ Achilles tear flipped the season upside down.
I’d like to believe the version of Indianapolis we saw in the first half wasn’t a fugazi.
Mostly, I believe in Shane Steichen as a head coach. I’m not sure if Jones will be ready immediately, so they may need to explore quarterback options in free agency — or give Anthony Richardson one last shot. I’ll admit it: I have a slightly delusional belief in Richardson. He hasn’t shown much that would convince a rational observer he’s a long-term NFL starter, but the arm talent and athleticism are too freakish to completely give up on.
This is my least favorite of the three teams, but the Colts defense alone could be good enough to make some noise.
