Ange Postecoglou has made an incredible admission about his future at Tottenham, suggesting he believes there’s a widespread expectation he’ll be sacked regardless of results.
The under-pressure Australian faces a crucial Europa League quarter-final against Eintracht Frankfurt tomorrow.
“I think (it was written this week) that even if we win it, I’m gone anyway,” Postecoglou said.
“The only reason I mention it is because I think that is the general sentiment.”

Despite this bleak outlook, the Spurs manager insists he remains focused on his vision for the club rather than being motivated by proving critics wrong.
The Europa League represents Tottenham’s last chance to salvage something from a disappointing campaign.
Spurs host Eintracht Frankfurt, who currently sit third in the Bundesliga, in the first leg of their quarter-final tie.
A victory would move Postecoglou’s side closer to their first European semi-final since the memorable 2018/19 season when they defeated Ajax.
The competition has taken on added significance as it remains Spurs’ only route into European football next season.
Defeat to the German side could prove fatal for Postecoglou’s tenure, with the manager himself acknowledging he appears to be in “last-chance saloon territory”.
Despite the uncertainty, Postecoglou remains committed to his original mission at Tottenham.
“I came to this club with a clear purpose and vision of what the club needed and what I could offer,” he explained.
“That is to change the way the team plays, to obviously rejuvenate the squad because it was a squad that was coming towards the end of a cycle and to bring success.”

“As long as I’m in this position, that’s always my focus irrespective of whatever noise there is or what may or may not be in the future.”
“Anything you achieve in life usually comes with a struggle,” he added.
