Beat the Streets has announced plans to launch in a number of new towns this spring.
Bloxwich launched in February and will be followed by Colchester on 11 March. Hendon and Grangetown; Penzance and St Austell will all launch later this month.
Beat the Streets turns towns and cities into a giant game with friendly competition to see how far an individual or their team can walk, run or cycle around their community, turning every journey into a game.
First introduced near Reading in 2013, it has now reached two million adults and children in more than 200 places across the world.

It was the brainchild of Dr William Bird, who founded Intelligent Health in 2010 to create a world where every community is designed for health, and every individual has the agency and the environment to flourish.
An analysis of nine programmes in 2024/25 showed that 40 per cent of registered participants came from the 20 per cent most deprived communities. Children from the most deprived areas (IMD 1–2), demonstrated a 7 per cent reduction in the proportion classified as less active and the rate of children achieving more than 60 minutes of daily activity increased by 8.4 percentage points.
On average, programmes engage 12 per cent of the population and 68 per cent of adult players were women.
The social value was calculated at £321.80 per adult participant and extrapolated to 54,365 adult players this generated an estimated wellbeing value of around £17.5 million.

The game is free for all players and for partners purchasing the programme for their area, the average cost to engage a participant was £12.73 in 2024/25.
Stade Brestois will host Le Havre at the Stade Francis-Le Bre on Sunday in another round of the 2025-26 Ligue 1 campaign. The Ironclad’s Strength build in Slay the Spire 2 is quite straightforward. It allows you to buff the specified stat to increase the overall damage output. Use Demon Form, Spot Weakness, and Limit Break to gain more Strength scaling.
To make your attacks more effective and hit multiple targets, use Whirlwind, Sword Boomerang, and Twin Strike. Make sure to also use Heavy Blade for its exponential Strength scaling. As for the relics, they will improve your blocking capabilities, which will allow the Ironclad to focus on dealing damage.

With the accumulative stacks, you can use Heavy Blow to deal massive damage. Feed and Reaper cards will grant bonus HP to help Ironclad survive the battle.

His athletic prowess is undeniable after he ran a blazing 4.35-second 40-yard dash with an equally impressive 1.52-second 10-yard split. Thieneman also ranked second among the safety group with a 41-inch vertical jump. Thieneman has pushed his claim to be not just a first-round pick but in the top 20, which puts him in the Vikings’ range. Landing in Minnesota with Smith comparisons will bring with it a unique kind of pressure.
Chris Johnson (CB), San Diego State – Stock Up
The Vikings need help at CB, but I’m not seeing the lockdown outside corner the Vikings need at 18 – without there being a catch. Chris Johnson looked smooth on tape during his college career without looking like a top-flight athlete. After an excellent combine, Johnson’s draft stock is up, so the question for the Vikings is will he be available at 49?
Caleb Banks (DI), Florida – Stock Up
My 2026 draft crush has been Caleb Banks, and the Florida interior defensive lineman did his best to back up my claims at the combine. Banks measured and tested like an absolute beast, allaying any concerns created by the foot injury that made him miss much of the 2025 season. Any doubts that he is first-round material are now gone. I’m sticking to my claim that Banks would be an excellent choice for the Vikings at 18.

Eli Stowers (TE), Vanderbilt – Stock Up
Kenyon Sadiq has been the clear TE1 in this draft class, but after showcasing his elite athleticism at the combine, Eli Stowers may have solidified himself as TE2 in this class and weighed in at 239 pounds. His 4.51-second 40-yard dash ranked second among the TE group, behind only Sadiq. He led all players with his incredible 45.5-inch vertical jump.
Stowers has put some weight on for the draft process and probably needs to add a bit more to be an every-down player. With TJ Hockenson and Josh Oliver already in Minnesota, Stowers would be an intriguing receiving option who could develop into a starter with some added bulk if the Vikings can land him on Day 2.
Jermod McCoy (CB), Tennessee – Stock Down
Jermod McCoy is one of the most intriguing prospects with medical concerns, having been 13 months removed from a major knee injury, meaning scouts haven’t seen him in action since last January. McCoy did not participate in any testing aside from the bench press.
Nothing makes a player’s draft stock slide like injury concerns, and if McCoy doesn’t perform well – or at all – at his pro day, he will represent a big risk. These concerns might see him slide down to the Vikings at 18, but will they also be the reason they let him keep sliding?
Emmett Johnson (RB), Nebraska – Stock Down
Emmet Johnson has been a favourite of some Vikings onlookers and was at least in the mix for RB2 with all the backs jockeying for positioning behind Notre Dame’s Jeremiyah Love. Johnson had a rough time at the combine, running a relatively average 4.56-second 40-yard dash.

He also failed to impress with a 35.5-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot broad jump, and he logged a well-below-average 7.32 seconds in the three-cone drill. Johnson’s game is based more on his vision and craft behind the line of scrimmage, and he can certainly be a productive runner in the NFL, but his lack of elite traits may make him slide. Possibly good news for the Vikings if they want to hold off on selecting an RB.
Peter Woods (IDL), Clemson – Stock Down
Peter Woods looked like a top 10 pick and a certainty to be the first interior defensive lineman off the board. That’s all changed as his slide started before the combine. It felt like Woods needed a good week with his 2025 tape a step back from 2024.

While other IDLs like Banks and Lee Hunter are having excellent pre-draft processes, Woods didn’t participate in any drills and measured in at 6-2, 298, with 31-inch arms. He is in danger of becoming the forgotten man in this draft, but that could be to the Vikings’ advantage.

Despite this, his future at the Spanish club is still uncertain. Getafe previously allowed him to leave on loan to reduce their wage bill and register new players.

Arike Ogunbowale, a four-time WNBA All-Star and Unrivaled league standout, was taken into police custody early Thursday after an alleged altercation at a Miami nightclub, police records showed.
Miami-Dade officers arrested Ogunbowale around 4:30 am after an unnamed male was suspected of being punched at Club E11EVEN. FOX Sports Radio reported, citing police sources, a man was struck “in the face and he fell to the ground.” The incident was allegedly recorded.

Sportsbooks offer odds on nearly everything in 2026, and Murray’s next destination has entered that mix.
NBC Sports’ Mike Florio wrote on Wednesday, “The Cardinals will release quarterback Kyler Murray next week. Where will he land? DraftKings has the Vikings as the early favorites to sign the first overall pick in the 2019 draft, at -110. The Jets are next at +175, with the Dolphins at +320 and the Browns at +450.”

“The Falcons, at +500, are one of the most intriguing options, given their talent elsewhere on offense. As mentioned over the weekend, however, new president of football operations Matt Ryan (a 6’5″ former quarterback) will have to be content to ride with an undersized signal caller.”
At the moment, Minnesota sits in the pole position to land Murray, likely via a one-year prove-it arrangement at the league minimum.

When the calendar flipped to January, Vikings fans had little clarity on Nailor’s free agency outlook. One path involved a modest return to Minnesota for roughly $4 million per season. Another involved a crowded market. As early March unfolds, the latter scenario appears likely.
The Athletic’s Alec Lewis scribed Tuesday, “More than 10 teams are eyeing Vikings receiver Jalen Nailor, according to league sources. Nailor recently turned 27 and will be one of the more coveted free-agent wide receivers next week. Even though he has caught only 69 NFL passes and never reached 450 yards in a season, multiple evaluators think he has the potential to become a priority signing.”
“The Vikings don’t want to lose Nailor. The coaches — especially receivers coach Keenan McCardell — have watched him progress into one of their best developmental stories. He can absorb a complex playbook. He is a willing run blocker. He possesses vertical speed, and he displays separation ability, too. One NFC executive posited that he could see Nailor producing an 80-catch season in the near future.”
That blurb points toward a player approaching a meaningful payday.

Realistically, none of these players seems ready to be a TE1 this season unless they show significant improvement during training camp. This situation could lead Minnesota to explore free agent options such as Isaiah Likely, Darren Waller, or Cade Otton.
The upcoming NFL draft in April also offers an opportunity to find a solution. Several intriguing tight end prospects are expected to be available in the early rounds, with Kenyon Sadiq from Oregon and Eli Stowers from Vanderbilt having impressed scouts at the NFL Combine last week.

A source told VikingsTerritory this week that Minnesota “will rip up” Hockenson’s contract and totally redo it, suggesting the paycut is on the way.
The 2026 World Baseball Classic is underway, and Team USA is pulled away from Brazil for a lopsided opening win on Friday night. The Americans will face Great Britain on Saturday night in Houston as pool play continues. The Dominican Republic shook off a slow start and eventually broke things open in the country’s opener against Nicaragua on Friday. Junior Caminero, Julio Rodríguez and Oneil Cruz all homered for the D.R. as the team scored 12 runs.
The 20-team tournament is running from March 5-17 at four locations: Miami; Houston; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Tokyo. The Championship Game will be played on March 17 at loanDepot Park, home of the Miami Marlins. Pool play is a round robin double-elimination tournament. The top two teams in Pools A and B will meet in the quarterfinals in Houston, while the top two teams in Pools C and D will meet in the quarterfinals in Miami. The semifinals and finals will again be played in Miami. After pool play, the rest of the tournament is single elimination.
All 47 games of the 2026 WBC will be broadcast by Fox and affiliated networks, including FS1, FS2, Fox Deportes and Tubi. Games can also be streamed on fubo (Try for free).

Voronchikhina, 23, finished 2.47 seconds shy of the gold medal-winning time set by Sweden’s Ebba Aarsjoe in the standing downhill event in Cortina, while France’s Aurelie Richard took silver.
Because of the outright ban of all Russian athletes from the Beijing Games four years ago, Voronchikhina is competing at her first Paralympics, despite being a two-time world champion in the Para-alpine skiing events.

She will compete in five further disciplines during these Games.
After returning to competition in January, Voronchikhina won four medals at her first World Cup in Saalbach, Austria, before double slalom gold in Feldberg, Germany, later in the month.
