Carl Froch has revealed his prediction for Deontay Wilder vs Derek Chisora, believing that one man is likely to take control from round four onwards.
The two heavyweights, each of them entering their 50th professional outing, will headline a Misfits Pro card at London’s O2 Arena on April 4.
Chisora has been made a handy favourite, perhaps because of his last three performances, while many believe his American opponent to be over the hill.
Wilder has, after all, claimed only two victories in his last six fights. The 40-year-old most recently scored a seventh-round finish over Tyrrell Herndon in June, but prior to that he was forced to suffer two punishing defeats against Zhilei Zhang and Joseph Parker.
Even before those fights, a first-round demolition job of Robert Helenius in 2022 failed to convince many fans that, following back-to-back stoppage losses to Tyson Fury, the former world champion had recovered his destructive form.
Chisora, meanwhile, has secured three points victories over Otto Wallin, Joe Joyce and Gerald Washington since his torrid 10th-round stoppage defeat to Fury in 2022.
Though some big names in the sport believe the 42-year-old Brit should have already hung up his gloves, there is a sense that he has just enough left in the tank to defeat Wilder.
One man who shares that opinion is Hall of Famer Froch, who, while speaking directly with Chisora on Froch On Fighting, went on to predict a favourable outcome for the British veteran.
“I feel that you’re getting him at the right time. Not that that’s a problem, but he’s also getting you at the right time, because you’re at the end of your career.
“I make you a slight favourite because you’ve always got the work rate; you’ve always got that drive and that refusal to quit.
“When you get on his chest and start pushing him back after round four, five and six, he’s going to be looking at the exit door, thinking, ‘I want to go home.’”
Chisora will look to set a fast pace and smother Wilder, who must prove wrong those who brand him ‘gun-shy.’ Retirement seems to be the only option for the loser, but ‘The Bronze Bomber’ has indicated he will fight on regardless of the outcome. Chisora, meanwhile, says he will hang up the gloves, win, lose or draw.
Team Canada will have to find a way to beat Team USA without one of its top players.
Captain Marie-Philip Poulin won’t be able to play in Tuesday’s game (2:10 p.m. ET / 11:10 a.m. PT, CBC Gem, Sportsnet+) after suffering a lower-body injury in Canada’s last game against Czechia. The Canadian Olympic Committee ruled her out Tuesday morning and listed Poulin as day-to-day.
Poulin was hurt in the first period after being hit into the boards by Kristýna Kaltounková and landing awkwardly.
Poulin took her time getting up, then left the ice without putting much pressure on her right leg. She hopped back onto the bench, grimacing in obvious pain.
The 34-year-old returned to the ice a short time later, but made just one pass and gingerly headed back to the bench after 10-or-so seconds of play. She then headed down the tunnel along with the team doctor, again putting very little weight on that right side.
With just over a minute to go, the captain returned to the bench, and the crowd roared. Poulin smiled and sat with her teammates, but didn’t return to the ice, and didn’t return to the bench or ice for the second or third periods.
Canada was able to pick up a 5-1 victory to improve to 2-0 to start the women’s hockey tournament.
Poulin has scored 17 goals at the Olympics, and she’s one goal away from tying the all-time record held by Hayley Wickenheiser.

Norway, Sweden and Finland are usually the countries that dominate cross-country skiing. Ogden’s podium finish was the first for an American in the discipline. U.S. men hadn’t medaled in any cross-country skiing event since Bill Koch in 1976.
Ogden finished in first place in the second quarterfinal race over Sweden’s Alvar Myhlback, Italy’s Federico Pellegrino and Finland’s Lauri Vuorinen. American teammate JC Schoonmaker was also vying for a spot in the final, but he came up short in his semifinal race.

Ogden is no stranger in the history books for American cross-country skiing. He and his teammates picked up a silver medal at the 2018 Junior World Ski Championships in Switzerland, which was the first medal for the U.S. at the junior worlds.
He made his Olympic debut in 2022 in Beijing and finished 12th in the event. Four years later, Ogden can now call himself an Olympic medalist.

Feb 7, 2026; San Antonio, Texas, USA; San Antonio Spurs guard Stephon Castle (5) shoots in the first half against the Dallas Mavericks at Frost Bank Center. Mandatory Credit: Daniel Dunn-Imagn Images Surging toward the All-Star break, the San Antonio Spurs will begin a back-to-back scenario before some much-deserved rest when they hit the road to face the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.
The second half of the back-to-back for the Spurs, who arrive in California on a four-game winning streak, will be against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday in San Francisco. The All-Star Game will be in the Los Angeles area on Sunday.
The Lakers were on a three-game winning streak and had an eight-point lead in the third quarter on Monday before falling 119-110 to the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder. Los Angeles was without Luka Doncic (hamstring) for the second consecutive game.
The Spurs got past the Thunder 116-106 on Wednesday, then earned consecutive victories over the Dallas Mavericks, including a 138-125 home decision on Saturday when they scored a season-high 81 points in the first half.
Stephon Castle poured in a career-high 40 points in a triple-double that included 12 rebounds and 12 assists. Victor Wembanyama added 16 points and 11 rebounds.
“Having a game like this is definitely a dream come true,” said Castle, who shot 15 of 19 from the floor. “It’s good to have (going) into the break and definitely a good sign. It felt good to be out there and comfortable with every shot I took and to see them go in.”
With a victory on Tuesday, San Antonio would match its longest winning streak of the season, five games, done twice before.
The Spurs have a 2-1 record against the Lakers going into the season finale between the teams. Castle is scoring 20.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists against Los Angeles this season. In the most recent game between the teams, the Spurs earned a 107-91 home victory on Jan. 7 behind 27 points from Keldon Johnson, matching his season high. It was the Lakers’ second-lowest scoring game of the season.
LeBron James logged 22 points and 10 assists in the Lakers’ loss to the Thunder on Monday in the opener of the back-to-back. James played a team-high 36 minutes. The 41-year-old veteran, in his record 23rd NBA season, has played on consecutive days just twice this season, both times in mid-January.
Marcus Smart added 19 points for Los Angeles while Austin Reaves had 16 in his fourth game after missing more than a month with a calf strain. The Lakers made half of their 84 shots in the game but were outscored 26-19 in the fourth quarter.
“I was pretty bad in that second half,” said Reaves, who shot 1 of 7 from the floor and was called for a technical foul after halftime. “I have to be better than that.” Now the Lakers will have limited preparation time following a loss to the top team in the Western Conference before facing the second-best club, the Spurs.
“When you play the best teams … you have to have a really high level of effort and you have to have a really high level of execution,” Los Angeles coach JJ Redick said. “It’s gotta be both. I thought for the most part our effort was fantastic (against the Thunder), and in the key stretches of the game, our execution wasn’t great.”
While the Lakers are 14-8 in home games this season, the Spurs are 16-10 in road games.

Pep Guardiola said Manchester City must improve or they can forget about catching Arsenal in the Premier League. The Blues stayed six points behind the leaders with a comeback victory at Anfield but City’s manager is not looking up when he can see what is directly in front of him.
City again lapsed in the second-half at Anfield – a common theme for their season as they went behind to a Dominiki Szoboszlai rocket after failing to convert their first-half play into any goals. However happy Guardiola was to come back and pick up a rare win at Liverpool, he knows that there are practical issues to address that are more important than thinking about the title race.
“I understand your question. Every time in the last weeks when I go before the game in flash interviews always is you lose you’re losing everything and going to disappear from planet Earth,” he said. “What I’m saying is what do we have to do to beat Fulham? What do we have to do to make the second half closer to the first? What is the reason why in the second half we are still dropping our performances?
“If we don’t improve that, we will not win – maybe if not against Fulham, against Newcastle or the next. I understand how nice three points or nine points and this kind of stuff is, but it doesn’t make for winning titles or arriving at the latter stages to be close to fighting for titles.”

City looked like they were about to turn the screw on Arsenal when they beat Forest after Christmas for their eighth victory in a row in all competitions, but they have stumbled since. The monster run that City have gone on in previous seasons is yet to materialise, and Guardiola isn’t sure that it will ever come with a different team. Until they get better at controlling games than they currently are, the City manager will not be getting carried away.
“When we have 60 or 70 per cent of new players, we don’t have what we had in the past,” he said. “After the second or third season we had done it, we are able to do it but now we have to prove it. I don’t know if we are able to win three, four, five, six games in a row. I don’t know. I don’t know.
“We drew at Spurs and all the comments after that second half at Spurs. It was not two months ago, it was days ago. They have done really good things. I have the feeling for many many months but not consistent enough to control many aspects to win the games. We equalised the [Liverpool] game with a deflected cross from Rayan Cherki, and goes to the head of Erling and intelligent run from there. From a deflection.
“And we saved with an incredible save from Gigio from a deflection. That is football. And that intervenes. But when we are a champion team, even in deflections you control the other aspects that don’t make the deflections the key points to win the game. And still we are in that phase.”

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has barred Ukraine’s skeleton racer Vladyslav Heraskevych from wearing a helmet that honors Ukrainian athletes killed in the war with Russia.
“The IOC fully understands the desire of athletes to remember friends who lost their lives in that conflict,” IOC spokesman Mark Adams told a news conference on Tuesday.
“He has done that in training and on social media he has expressed his feelings but what we have said is this helmet contravenes the … guidelines,” he added.
Ukraine’s Olympic Committee on Tuesday asked the IOC to allow Heraskevych to wear the “helmet of remembrance” at the Milano-Cortina Games.
The committee made the request after an IOC representative told Heraskevych he cannot use the helmet he has worn in training, which features images of athletes killed since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022.
The Ukrainian Olympic Committee insists the design contains no political slogans or discriminatory elements.
“The helmet was created to honor Ukrainian athletes killed while defending Ukraine or who became victims of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine,” Ukraine’s Olympic Committee said in a statement.
The IOC denied the request ahead of the skeleton competition, which starts Thursday.
However, the IOC announced that, as a compromise, Heraskevych will be permitted to wear a black armband when competing at the games.
“We feel this is a good compromise,” Adams said. He said the field of play needed to remain as neutral as possible.
“We need to keep that specific moment (on the field of play) as pure as we can for the competition. People can express themselves however they want to elsewhere,” he explained.
Heraskevych, who is generally considered a medal hopeful at the games, said he could not understand how the helmet “hurt anyone.”
It included photos of figure skater Dmytro Sharpar, boxer Pavlo Ishchenko, hockey player Oleksiy Loginov, and others, some of whom were killed on the front lines, Heraskevych said.
Before the IOC’s decision Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy voiced his support for Heraskevych on social media.
“This truth cannot be inconvenient, inappropriate, or called a “political demonstration at a sporting event.” It is a reminder to the entire world of what modern Russia is,” he wrote.
Athletes from Russia are not allowed to take part in the Olympic Games under a Russian flag, but 13 Russians are taking part in the Winter Olympics as “Individual Neutral Athletes.”
The IOC suspended the Russian Olympic Committee in February 2022, arguing that Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, launched days after the Beijing Winter Games, violated the Olympic Truce.
