Dan Burn has admitted he doesn’t want to go to sleep after helping Newcastle beat Liverpool to win the Carabao Cup on Sunday.
The centre-back headed his side ahead in the 45th minute after some good work from Kieran Trippier.
Alexander Isak then doubled Newcastle’s lead seven minutes after the restart, with Federico Chiesa notching late on to force a frantic finale.
In the end, Newcastle were able to hold on – with Eddie Howe’s side securing a first major trophy since 1969.

Both goalscorers have now opened up following the match at Wembley.
Burn, a Newcastle fan through and through, admitted that he didn’t want to sleep after playing such a key role in his side’s memorable cup triumph.
“Not bad. I’ve had worse weeks!” he remarked.
“I don’t want to go to sleep because I feel like I am dreaming.

“I knew Alexis [Mac Allister] wasn’t looking so I could get a jump on him.
“As soon as I headed it, I knew it was in. I don’t get many so at least I saved it for a big occasion.
“I feel strange the minute. It is hard to put into words.”
Isak also opened up, with the Sweden international insisting that Burn – rather than himself – deserved to be the player of the match.

“It’s his [Burn]. He was brilliant. He sets the foundation for us to be able to perform,” stated the striker.
“It’s amazing and this is just the start. We will see so much more. We are all aware of how much it means.
“For us to be able to give the fans that, it is amazing. First half was frustrating for me but I kept telling myself that my moment would come.
“When I got the chance, I put it in the back of the net.

“When you have been without a trophy for so long, it can be in the back of your head. Hopefully it is brighter days ahead.”
And Joelinton is another Newcastle player to speak out, with the striker-turned-midfielder elated at tasting success for the first time.
“It was an unbelievable feeling and day. I dreamt of this day and this moment,” he said.
