I remember when I first started yoga I thought that poses like Crow and Wheel were the truly challenging aspects of practice; now I know it is holding your attention and focus on your breath throughout. This is an excellent reminder of that even if you are a seasoned yogi(ni). Namaste
Back at it again after surgery man I miss how I feel after yoga with Adrian! Peace
Can you replace the blanket or towel with a block
I love that you instruct throughout, but why the lunge? I am not flexible enough to get my foot to my hand for that, not to mention I got a stomach that blocks me too… Isn't there a different way or pose before doing the lunge? Seriously, that isn't an easy transition for a chunky girl…
That dog has the perfect yoga position
Thanks

Great video, thanks!
Home = to return to one's origin
Hone = to sharpen
At time 7:05, I think you meant "That relationship that you're homing in on…"
Thank you for simplifying the poses and making yoga accessible for beginners like me!
Only talking
If you're a beginner I suggest you start with the exercise which the dog is teaching us here
Absolutely love this video

Nice
Really great routine for total beginners. It gets you stretching pretty well and at the end I felt really relaxed.
my husband's first yoga practice today
thank you Adriene!
My first yoga practice!

What if I have a bad knee and cannot do the "child's pose"? It really looks like a great stretch but I just cannot with my knee. Any variation/stretch I can end with? Thank you!!
Thank you so much
You're right, the hardest part was showing up
️
This is my first ever real Yoga practice, a friend of mine recommended me your channel and videos to use as a way to prevent myself from self harming and I'm looking forward to trying to use these videos to resist these urges
Hi I did this with 2 yoga blocks through the video is that okay
Thank you for the opportunity to watch a very good beginners warm up practice. I started doing Yoga in 1996 in the basement of a Big Baptist Church with a wonderful teacher, there was me and 5 other women, At the time I was in my mid 30s and had a stressful job. I took the beginner 6 week course, which basically taught us the Sun Salutation. I was not comfortable with a couple of poses, so I repeated the beginners course again. It was the best thing I ever did in my Yoga practice because my teacher was very particular about correct body alignment, and breathing. She was very good at watching everyone and correcting the feet, hip, spine, and head alignment. Everyone at there own path. I moved on to what she called intermediate course, and I stayed there repeating that 6 week class for a year until I could do all the poses perfectly.
I tried the advanced class but found that the beginners and intermediate class level was the right Yoga practice for me. I now could practice at home, but missed the people and my Wonderful Yoga teacher.
I say to anyone starting Yoga to take the time to learn your poses and do them the best you can and make time in your life for this experience. It’s a singular practice and will change the way you feel, eat and live a healthy life.
My stomach is growling
I can hear a heart beat….
Hello Adriene and experienced Yoga community. I just did my first 10 min session. My question is: For how long and how frequent should a beginner do this 10 minutes program, prior to moving next yoga work out (and then next to which yoga program). Thank you in advance for any and all advice.
Can somebody please help me? I know that this video is older, but I'm trying to get into Yoga and I was recommended this channel. I'm not flexible whatsoever. Even when I got up I really struggled. Should I continue with this video? When is it okay to switch videos? Also how do I follow along depending on skill level? I'm like at level -3 at the moment. I just switch to the 20 min beginner and then the 10 min intermediate and go from there? Once I do those do I just open a video at random and try the poses? I'm trying avoid injury and increase health, FLEXIBILITY and longevity. Thanks!
First time ever letssss go!
