Join Tara Erickson and Andrew Gordon as they dive into Martin Scorsese’s 1991 thriller, Cape Fear—a film that redefines psychological terror and suspense. In this riveting tale, vengeful ex-con Max Cady (Robert De Niro, celebrated for his iconic roles in Taxi Driver and The Godfather Part II) embarks on a relentless quest for revenge against his former defense attorney, Sam Bowden (Nick Nolte, known for his compelling performances in The Thin Red Line and 48 Hrs.), and his unsuspecting family.
The tension escalates as Jessica Lange (from Blue Sky and Fried Green Tomatoes) delivers a formidable performance as Leigh Bowden, while Juliette Lewis (renowned for her work in Natural Born Killers and other intense dramas) brings raw vulnerability to the role of Danielle Bowden. Our hosts break down every chilling moment—from Cady’s unnerving confrontations and the suspenseful, rain-soaked scenes to the film’s unforgettable final showdown that has cemented its place in thriller history.
Experience the masterful blend of psychological warfare and intense character dynamics as we analyze how Cape Fear continues to captivate audiences with its bold storytelling and unforgettable performances.

  1. Is a real river in North Carolina called. The Cape Fear river…think this was filmed in parts of NC SC

  2. I'm sorry for being blunt but does the woman who is reacting to this video have ehler danlos?

  3. The original version of this movie from the 60’s was so much better! It was subtle and really scary. This version turned everyone into cartoon characters. Blech!

  4. 4:15 I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, “Ring the bell – Tara’s Version”

  5. NATURAL BORN KILLERS written by Tarantino and directed by Oliver Stone, is another very good movie that is off the radar of the reaction Youtubers, and it's about time it starts to be reacted to, it deserves it, it's from the same era as Cape Fear and it also stars Juliette Lewis in her best performance of her career, very different from her character in Cape Fear.

  6. Tara and Andrew needs to react to FEAR Mark Wahlberg and Reese Witherspoon Alyssa Milano

  7. In the way of heroes and villains. What's a hero (in movies, comics, etc.) without a good villain?

  8. This has nothing to do with this movie, but y'all should react to Tootsie. Jessica Lange is in it. It's got Dustin Hoffman and Bill Murray too. It's a classic movie.

  9. If you think this is a 90's issue/story, you have alot of real world education to acquire.

  10. I remember everybody in the movie theater screaming when Nick Nolte slipped and fell into the blood.

  11. " Are You Offering Me Something Hot "

  12. 1:26:12 Elmer reworked the Herrmann score from the original to fit this film.

  13. This is one of the best remakes of a film ever. It's sad that Bobby is such a weirdo these days, and his best acting days are likely behind him. But this film is the one I always point to as the link I always make to Jon Bernthal. Jon has always given me young DeNiro vibes. He needs his Taxi Driver, and he's right there. The Punisher stuff is fine, but he's a way better actor than all of that.

  14. This what art looked like before abomination cgi cartoons destroyed Hollywood. R.I.P.
    SMGDMFH!🙄

  15. if you haven't seen / reacted to 1998's SNAKE EYES with Nicolas Cage & Gary Sinise – directed by Brian DePalma – it would make a great reaction. Cheers!

  16. For another great Nick Nolte movie check out 1976s The Deep.

  17. Unfortunatly it all still maters….. misogyny runs deep and is institutionalised…..still

  18. Sam bowden is a scumbag and MAYBE(?) got what HE deserved- justice

  19. The one thing that this movie had a hard time conveying to me was its degree of plausibility. The whole setup felt forced with Deniro's actions and character; not that he was ineffective in the role.

  20. Wait. Isn't Marky Mark supposed to be in this movie?? And the girl from Legally Blonde???

  21. Damn you two are annoying…bye

  22. Spielberg wanted to cast Bill Murray as Cady.

  23. cape fear is a masterpiece. Thanks for this top reaction.

  24. One of my favs.

    You were MY lawyer!

So twisted that Max is right but his method is completely wrong and evil

  25. Both Peck and Mitchum were in the original. You have to see that, it's brilliant as well.

  26. This is one of the rare quality remakes that surpasses the original film.

  27. I just noticed the houseboat is called Moana.

  28. Omg the Original actor Mitchum is in this! Im watching the original movie and this reaction simultaneously, its crazy! Scorsese is a badass 👏😎

  29. I remember being in a movie theatre in Dublin, Ireland (Gregory’s Girl) in 1982 and being surprised at seeing ashtrays installed on the chair backs. Smoking, at that time, was permitted in the balcony.

  30. My ex introduced me to this movie and ive been hooked ever since. He knew my luv for thrillers run deep and this did NOT disappoint ❤🔥🔥🔥

  31. Maybe that was him they just pulled out of the Cape Fear river a few days ago. 😳

  32. Im just realizing the whole teddy bear wire thing was something they did in the Chucky series in an episode called Cape Queer

  33. 46:24 I had that phone. Also the pineapple situation on the TV was a Janes Addition music video

  34. The thing that bothered me was that nolte never actually had an affair with the racket ball chick so it would never fall back on to nolte….but I get why it was done
