  3. I will never be convinced that coffee is bad. Everything that they say is bad about it, is good. Adrenaline and choline is not anxiety. It is vigor. As for sleep, just don't take it less than 12 hrs before bed. It doesn't last forever. It's fine. God I love coffee.

  4. So what I’ve heard is that my body says screw biology be sleepy with coffee and wide awake with no coffee.
    And just for fun this is my Starbucks order
    Iced Americano, three shots of espresso if somebody wants to tell me how much caffeine that is please tell me also all the caffeine is going to a 15-year-old buddy

  7. I have beeb drinking coffee since I was in 5th grade. Not every day, usually limited myself to only a cup and never going over 3 cups. I also made sure to not srink caffeine after 5pm, usually not risking drinking after 2 or 3.
    Im diagnosed with insomnia, hypersomnia, and adhd. Treated with stimulants and melatonin
    And I had to quit caffeine completely after starting the meds, because of the reaction caffeine had with the stimulants. It would make me so anxious i would get anxiety attacks like 20-30 minutes after drinking anything woth caffeine. So i can only drink it if i forget to take stimulants or if it's tye weekend and i don't need them.
    However, because of my adhd, caffeine can sometimes make me more sleepy instead of more awake. Pretty sure it's something about being too understimulated to calm down enough to fall asleep? So sometimes when i can't fall asleep i actually intentionally drink something with caffeine and it helps with that. But it's not always. I usually have some sort of gut feeling to know if it's going to help that day or not, depends of what type of tired I am. I need to be sleepy but unable to calm down, if im tired but not sleepy it doesn't work.
    Anyways, i love coffee. I bought instant decafe coffee recently but it's not nearly the same as black arabic coffee that i like. I also miss all the caffeinated drinks i like, not just coffee but tea and coke as well.

  8. @DoctorMike You missed a key point on why caffeine sensitivity varies! The hepatic enzyme CYP1A2—genetically fast or slow—determines how quickly we metabolize caffeine. Fast metabolizers (high CYP1A2) clear it rapidly; slow metabolizers (low CYP1A2) feel stronger/longer effects. This genetic variability explains why some can drink espresso at bedtime, while others get jitters from half a cup!

  13. I am an acid reflux sufferer with the occasional tummy bloating. The coffee we make at home doesn't cause me much acid reflux but I feel it heavy in my stomach and was causing me constipation. I was drinking everyday so I will survive the day at work. However I recently discovered that cocoa can give you as much energy as coffee. I make iced cocoa with one and a half spoon of organic Cocoa and it keeps me away better than coffee. Is much more lighter to my stomach and of course more healthier.

  14. I am one of those who drink 5 a day. I don't have many of the problems you have mentioned. It does not keep me awake at all. I only gained weight because of the lack of exercise I do.

  15. My wife drink a cup with cigarette every half hour all night long and most of the, to point she is claiming to have seizures the Neurologist says psychological. I am no medical expert but I am pretty sure years of coffee and nicotine at that level is why

  16. Coffee is tremendous for you in moderation like 2 6 oz cups a day it cleanses the liver, stimulates the bowels , improves thinking , fights diabetes . Just do not drink it black then it is counter beneficial .

  18. I am super thankful it does absolutely nothing to my bowel movements. My friends and partner as soon as they have a coffee they start rubbing their belly and disappear to the toilet. I can have 2-3 cups of extra strength coffees and it doesn't change a thing. Reeeeallly thankful for that!

  19. Coffee reduces my anxiety, makes me calmer and sometimes even sleepy. I was diagnosed with ADHD and it has a similar calming/anti anxiety effect as adderall.
