Picture this: You wake up, drink some coffee, do your daily workout and go about your day-to-day routine. Suddenly, you start noticing some stubborn belly fat that has never been there before. You haven’t changed anything in your routine for years, so what could it be?
If this sounds familiar to you, you are most likely experiencing increased visceral fat. Visceral fat is the fat inside our abdomen and surrounds our internal organs. This is not the fat that we see! It is hidden under our skin and is extremely metabolically active and sensitive to inflammatory foods.
In this video, Dr. Mary Claire Haver explains how to control and reduce visceral fat using evidence-based research. To find out how you can get rid of this extra belly fat and measure your health, keep watching!

Thanks for all this valuable information. All in line with the latest scientific research. The only recommendation that seems to be out of date is the exercise component. In menopausal women cardio is not enough of a stressor to maintain and build muscle. Check out Dr. Stacy Sims (exercise physiologist) recommendations that what is needed is resistance training (heavy weights) and sprints. The notion of cardio is out of date for our demographic.
