Jake Paul announces MVP’s UK debut card featuring Dubois vs Harper and 3 other world title fights

Whilst Jake Paul’s career as a boxer has stalled due to injuries sustained in his fight with Anthony Joshua, his promotional firm is marching on strongly, as Most Valuable Promotions have announced their U.K. debut with a quadruple header set for London this April.

Paul lost by knockout for the first time when he bravely accepted a challenge with ‘AJ’, who did what was expected of him in a sixth-round stoppage win, during which he broke the jaw of ‘The Problem Child’.

As a result, Paul is set to be sidelined for an extended period of time, with some fans suggesting it could be time for the YouTuber-turned-boxer to retire.

However, his position in boxing remains a strong one from outside of the ring, with Most Valuable Promotions sat as a solid player in the women’s version of the sport, home to a vast number of female world champions.

Paul’s outfit now look to flex their muscles with a show that broadcasts their dominance in the world of women’s boxing, as they stage four world title contests in London, headlined by a lightweight title unification involving British rivals Caroline Dubois (WBC champion) and Terri Harper (WBO champion).

Following the announcement, 25-year-old Dubois described the contest as a ‘legacy fight’, in an interview with Sky Sports.

“I’m excited to make this fight. This is a massive fight in my career and for British boxing, both a legacy fight and unification. The goal is to become undisputed world champion and this is the first step.”

The remainder of the world title bout quartet sees three further Britons compete in separate title contests, with unified super-bantamweight champion Ellie Scotney (WBC, WBO & IBF) set to challenge for the undisputed throne against WBA titlist Mayelli Flores.

Meanwhile, former undisputed super-lightweight champion Chantelle Cameron takes part in her first world title clash since losing the throne in a rematch with Katie Taylor. ‘Il Capo’ faces off with Czech Republic’s Michaela Kotaskova in a showdown for the vacant WBO super-welterweight strap.

Last but not least comes British champion Emma Dolan, who attempts to become a world champion in just her 9th professional fight, tasked with Mexico’s 44-year-old IBF super-flyweight ruler, Irma Garcia.

The event will take place at The Olympia in Kensington, London on Sunday, April 5, as the first fight of Sky Sports’ newly announced broadcast deal with Most Valuable Promotions. Paul, alongside co-founder Nakisa Bidarian, said:

“This event represents a major milestone for MVP as we bring our brand to the UK for the first time, and do so with Sky Sports, with a card that reflects the scale, depth and ambition of women’s boxing today.

“In our double main event, Caroline Dubois vs Terri Harper marks the long-anticipated unification between two of MVP’s elite British champions, while Ellie Scotney has the opportunity to make history and become the youngest undisputed champion the UK has ever seen.

“Alongside them, Chantelle Cameron fights to become a two-division champion and Emma Dolan gets her first world title shot.

“MVP is the global home of women’s boxing, and partnering with Sky Sports for the UK, to deliver this event will give these athletes the platform and market exposure they deserve, live from Olympia in London on Sunday April 5.”

Joe Gibbs Racing driver Taylor Gray won Saturday’s Kansas Lottery 300 and secured his second career win. The O’Reilly Series driver did so by holding off Haas Factory Team driver Sheldon Creed. Later, during a post-race interview, Gray expressed his views on the same.

The JGR driver qualified among the top ten drivers on the grid and began the 200-lap race from P10. Meanwhile, Creed was faster than him in the qualifying session and secured a P4 start. Gray made steady progress in stages one and two, securing sixth-place and seventh-place finishes, respectively.

Following that, Taylor Gray secured the lead with a strategic move by his crew chief, Jason Ratcliff. The crew chief called Gray in the pits ahead of the dominant drivers Creed and Brandon Jones, giving him an advantage over his competitors with a set of fresh tires. As a result, the JGR driver took home his second career victory and told the media in the victory lane:

“First of all, thank you to everyone at Joe Gibbs Racing,” said Gray in Victory Lane. “How about (crew chief) Jason Ratcliffe? That pit call was awesome. I knew we had a car capable of winning. I thought the No. 20 (Jones) was a little better than us before the green-flag cycle, but you just have to stay locked in.”

“Jason made a really good adjustment on the car, a really good pit call, and got us the clean air. I can’t thank everybody enough. It’s been a long start to the year, man. Not that we’re not bringing speed to the race track, but things just haven’t gone our way. So it’s nice to finally be able to close one out,” he added.

Taylor Gray crossed the finish line with a small margin of 0.718 seconds ahead of Sheldon Creed. Meanwhile, JRM driver Justin Allgaier secured third place, followed by Jesse Love in fourth place and Brent Crews in fifth place.

“Originally, I was supposed to be the 19”: When Taylor Gray opened up about his future with Joe Gibbs Racing in stock car racing

In October 2024, stock car racing driver Taylor Gray revealed that he was initially set to drive the #19 Toyota in his sophomore season with Joe Gibbs Racing. However, the NASCAR team announced that it would bring back the #54 Toyota for the last season and named Gray as the full-time driver.

The stock car racing team was impressed by the 21-year-old driver’s performance in the 2024 season. Following that, the team offered Gray a full-time contract for the 2025 season in the O’Reilly Series. Later, the JGR driver told the media:

“We were kind of talking about next year a little bit. And he was asking me about number stuff and what number I was supposed to be. And originally, I was supposed to be the 19. Like that was what I was going to do with the 19. And he looks at me and goes, “No,” he said, “you’re going to run the 54.” And so they, they drug the 54 kind of out of retirement. I like to say. And yeah, it’s pretty cool.”

Taylor Gray is currently ninth in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series with 294 points to his credit. He moved up three spots after the Kansas Speedway win. Additionally, he has secured one top-five and four top-ten finishes in ten starts so far.
