» Luke Littler makes desperate admission after extending Premier League lead with Luke Humphries win

Luke Littler has admitted he’s desperate to end his losing strike against Gerwyn Price following his victory over Luke Humphries in the Premier League on Thursday night.

The 18-year-old extended his lead at the summit to eight points after triumphing in Newcastle, having also overcome Stephen Bunting and Rob Cross.

Littler looks the overwhelming favourite to secure glory given his dominant displays in the competition.

But one player he’s struggled against is Prince, with the Welshman becoming something of a ‘bogey player’ for the world champion.

Price has won their last six showdowns, with Littler forced to wait around a year for a win against ‘The Iceman’.

Now, speaking to Sports Boom, Littler has admitted he’s desperate to end that losing streak.

“I wanted Gerwyn [Price] to beat Rob [Cross],” he admitted.

“Once again, I wanted to play Gezzy this week. I’ve got him in Manchester again in the coming weeks.

Littler was too strong for the rest of the competition on Thursday, beating Luke Humphries 6-1 to secure his fourth Premier League nightly win.

It was a stunning night for the teenager, who continues to scale new heights in the sport.

And Littler, speaking after his win over Humphries, revealed the world No 1 informed him he was ‘tired’ as he crashed to defeat.

“I’m happy with my performances tonight, obviously drifted off towards the end,” he said.

“Feeling a bit tired but I’m just glad to get over that winning line in the final.

“Going into the semi-final I knew I was three or two 180’s away (from 200), I think coming into tonight I was top on 92 and Humphries was second on 44 and it just shows how well my power scoring is.
