Drake Maye says he will not need offseason surgery on the right shoulder that drew lots of attention ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl LX loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
“Time is the best healer,” Maye told reporters on Tuesday. “Just need time off. Nothing that needs anything to be done. Just need time to rest and time away from football.”

Maye said after the game that he received shoulder injections and that he “was good to go” and “it felt all right.”
Heading into the Super Bowl, Maye was limited in practice with a shoulder injury he suffered in the AFC Championship Game win over the Denver Broncos. On the team’s initial injury report, the 23-year-old quarterback was listed as questionable with a shoulder injury and an illness that caused him to miss a practice.
Despite being removed from the injury report and telling reporters he felt well heading into the game, Maye struggled against Seattle completing 27-of-43 passes for 295 yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions and a fumble, with most of his passing yards coming in the fourth quarter. Maye’s second interception was returned for a touchdown and all but closed the game.
Maye had a strong second NFL season, making his second Pro Bowl and being named a Second-team All-Pro while also finishing second in the MVP race. The Patriots ended their three-season playoff drought and flipped their record from the 4-13 finishes from the past two seasons to 14-3 and AFC East champions in 2025.

The 2025 season just concluded, but Maye is already eager to begin preparing for 2026.
“Ten weeks until we’re back here,” Maye said in a final message to Patriots fan. “That don’t sound too far away. It turns around quickly on you. I’m looking forward to it.”
WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella’s romantic life has been the talk of the town for quite some time. There have been rumors that she is dating 22-year-old NFL star Cooper DeJean.
Last week on Monday Night RAW, after Royal Rumble, The Bella Twins officially reunited and delivered a promo. During the segment, Brie told her twin that the crowd was chanting “Coop”. In response, The Fearless One said she had good taste, which intensified the rumors of her romantic relationship with DeJean.
Thanks for the submission!
On The Nikki & Brie Show, Brie revealed that she organically mentioned “Coop” during the segment, and it wasn’t scripted. Nikki added that she and her sister were taught to acknowledge fans’ chants before proceeding with their promo. The Fearless One felt she addressed the crowd in the best way possible on RAW.
However, Brie blamed her twin for adding fuel to the rumors about her romantic life with her statement on the show. Nikki then replied that she didn’t mean it that way.
“You added fuel to the fire,” Brie said. (H/T: Fightful)

Canada’s Victoria Mboko made quick work of former world No. 2 Vera Zvonareva to reach the round of 16 at the Qatar Open on Tuesday.
The 10th seed from Toronto won 6-4, 6-4 in a one-hour, 37-minute match at the WTA 1000 tournament.
Mboko hit six aces and won 71 per cent of her first-serve points. She broke Zvonareva twice in each set and erased seven of nine break points.
It was the first-ever meeting between the 19-year-old Mboko and the 41-year-old Russian.
Mboko, who improved her record this season to 10-3, entered the tournament with a career-high world ranking of No. 13.
Next up for Mboko is a rematch with fifth seed Mirra Andreeva of Russia. The two teen stars met in the final of the Adelaide International last month, with Andreeva winning 6-3, 6-1.
Andreeva opened her tournament with a 7-6 (0), 6-1 win over Poland’s Magda Linette on Monday.

American skier Alex Hall added to Team USA’s medal count on Tuesday at the Winter Olympics as he picked up a silver in the men’s freeski slopestyle event.
The competition was stiff as Hall looked to defend the gold medal he won in the 2022 Beijing Games. Men’s slopestyle had been an event that the U.S. had dominated since it was introduced into the Olympics in 2014 and anything less than a bronze might have been looked at as a failure.

Hall didn’t let it get to that point. He had a tough first run, only scoring a 52.65. In the second run, he performed epically and scored an 85.75. He needed to go above and beyond in the third run but he slipped and wasn’t able to beat his score from the second run.
However, the 85.75 was his best and enough to take home the silver medal.

Norway’s Birk Ruud won the gold medal in the event. He had a score of 86.28, which he recorded during his first run. New Zealand’s Luca Harrington was nearly perfect on his third run and was able to scoot by Switzerland’s Andri Ragettli for the bronze medal.
Hall’s silver medal was the second on the day for Team USA, following Ben Ogden in cross-country skiing.

Team Canada will have to find a way to beat Team USA without one of its top players.
Captain Marie-Philip Poulin won’t be able to play in Tuesday’s game (2:10 p.m. ET / 11:10 a.m. PT, CBC Gem, Sportsnet+) after suffering a lower-body injury in Canada’s last game against Czechia. The Canadian Olympic Committee ruled her out Tuesday morning and listed Poulin as day-to-day.
Poulin was hurt in the first period after being hit into the boards by Kristýna Kaltounková and landing awkwardly.
Poulin took her time getting up, then left the ice without putting much pressure on her right leg. She hopped back onto the bench, grimacing in obvious pain.
The 34-year-old returned to the ice a short time later, but made just one pass and gingerly headed back to the bench after 10-or-so seconds of play. She then headed down the tunnel along with the team doctor, again putting very little weight on that right side.
With just over a minute to go, the captain returned to the bench, and the crowd roared. Poulin smiled and sat with her teammates, but didn’t return to the ice, and didn’t return to the bench or ice for the second or third periods.
Canada was able to pick up a 5-1 victory to improve to 2-0 to start the women’s hockey tournament.
Poulin has scored 17 goals at the Olympics, and she’s one goal away from tying the all-time record held by Hayley Wickenheiser.

Norway, Sweden and Finland are usually the countries that dominate cross-country skiing. Ogden’s podium finish was the first for an American in the discipline. U.S. men hadn’t medaled in any cross-country skiing event since Bill Koch in 1976.
Ogden finished in first place in the second quarterfinal race over Sweden’s Alvar Myhlback, Italy’s Federico Pellegrino and Finland’s Lauri Vuorinen. American teammate JC Schoonmaker was also vying for a spot in the final, but he came up short in his semifinal race.

He made his Olympic debut in 2022 in Beijing and finished 12th in the event. Four years later, Ogden can now call himself an Olympic medalist.

Feb 7, 2026; San Antonio, Texas, USA; San Antonio Spurs guard Stephon Castle (5) shoots in the first half against the Dallas Mavericks at Frost Bank Center. Mandatory Credit: Daniel Dunn-Imagn Images Surging toward the All-Star break, the San Antonio Spurs will begin a back-to-back scenario before some much-deserved rest when they hit the road to face the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.
The second half of the back-to-back for the Spurs, who arrive in California on a four-game winning streak, will be against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday in San Francisco. The All-Star Game will be in the Los Angeles area on Sunday.
The Lakers were on a three-game winning streak and had an eight-point lead in the third quarter on Monday before falling 119-110 to the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder. Los Angeles was without Luka Doncic (hamstring) for the second consecutive game.
The Spurs got past the Thunder 116-106 on Wednesday, then earned consecutive victories over the Dallas Mavericks, including a 138-125 home decision on Saturday when they scored a season-high 81 points in the first half.
Stephon Castle poured in a career-high 40 points in a triple-double that included 12 rebounds and 12 assists. Victor Wembanyama added 16 points and 11 rebounds.
“Having a game like this is definitely a dream come true,” said Castle, who shot 15 of 19 from the floor. “It’s good to have (going) into the break and definitely a good sign. It felt good to be out there and comfortable with every shot I took and to see them go in.”
With a victory on Tuesday, San Antonio would match its longest winning streak of the season, five games, done twice before.
The Spurs have a 2-1 record against the Lakers going into the season finale between the teams. Castle is scoring 20.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists against Los Angeles this season. In the most recent game between the teams, the Spurs earned a 107-91 home victory on Jan. 7 behind 27 points from Keldon Johnson, matching his season high. It was the Lakers’ second-lowest scoring game of the season.
LeBron James logged 22 points and 10 assists in the Lakers’ loss to the Thunder on Monday in the opener of the back-to-back. James played a team-high 36 minutes. The 41-year-old veteran, in his record 23rd NBA season, has played on consecutive days just twice this season, both times in mid-January.
Marcus Smart added 19 points for Los Angeles while Austin Reaves had 16 in his fourth game after missing more than a month with a calf strain. The Lakers made half of their 84 shots in the game but were outscored 26-19 in the fourth quarter.
“I was pretty bad in that second half,” said Reaves, who shot 1 of 7 from the floor and was called for a technical foul after halftime. “I have to be better than that.” Now the Lakers will have limited preparation time following a loss to the top team in the Western Conference before facing the second-best club, the Spurs.
“When you play the best teams … you have to have a really high level of effort and you have to have a really high level of execution,” Los Angeles coach JJ Redick said. “It’s gotta be both. I thought for the most part our effort was fantastic (against the Thunder), and in the key stretches of the game, our execution wasn’t great.”
While the Lakers are 14-8 in home games this season, the Spurs are 16-10 in road games.

Pep Guardiola said Manchester City must improve or they can forget about catching Arsenal in the Premier League. The Blues stayed six points behind the leaders with a comeback victory at Anfield but City’s manager is not looking up when he can see what is directly in front of him.
City again lapsed in the second-half at Anfield – a common theme for their season as they went behind to a Dominiki Szoboszlai rocket after failing to convert their first-half play into any goals. However happy Guardiola was to come back and pick up a rare win at Liverpool, he knows that there are practical issues to address that are more important than thinking about the title race.
“I understand your question. Every time in the last weeks when I go before the game in flash interviews always is you lose you’re losing everything and going to disappear from planet Earth,” he said. “What I’m saying is what do we have to do to beat Fulham? What do we have to do to make the second half closer to the first? What is the reason why in the second half we are still dropping our performances?
“If we don’t improve that, we will not win – maybe if not against Fulham, against Newcastle or the next. I understand how nice three points or nine points and this kind of stuff is, but it doesn’t make for winning titles or arriving at the latter stages to be close to fighting for titles.”

City looked like they were about to turn the screw on Arsenal when they beat Forest after Christmas for their eighth victory in a row in all competitions, but they have stumbled since. The monster run that City have gone on in previous seasons is yet to materialise, and Guardiola isn’t sure that it will ever come with a different team. Until they get better at controlling games than they currently are, the City manager will not be getting carried away.
“When we have 60 or 70 per cent of new players, we don’t have what we had in the past,” he said. “After the second or third season we had done it, we are able to do it but now we have to prove it. I don’t know if we are able to win three, four, five, six games in a row. I don’t know. I don’t know.
“We drew at Spurs and all the comments after that second half at Spurs. It was not two months ago, it was days ago. They have done really good things. I have the feeling for many many months but not consistent enough to control many aspects to win the games. We equalised the [Liverpool] game with a deflected cross from Rayan Cherki, and goes to the head of Erling and intelligent run from there. From a deflection.
“And we saved with an incredible save from Gigio from a deflection. That is football. And that intervenes. But when we are a champion team, even in deflections you control the other aspects that don’t make the deflections the key points to win the game. And still we are in that phase.”
