After a lackluster Night 1, Night 2 of WrestleMania 42 delivered. That’s especially true of the main event, where Roman Reigns beat CM Punk to win the World Heavyweight Championship.

The match was Reigns’ best WrestleMania match of his career. It was also a true moment for Punk, who, for years, fought for a main event spot. Both had the crowd, reserved through two nights, in the palm of their hands.

Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton, the main event of Night 1, didn’t feel like there was a big payoff. Reigns vs. Punk did, and then some.

What happened in CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42 Night 2?

Punk and Reigns gave it their all from the jump. Punk tried to get into Reigns’ head, while Reigns attempted to show Punk why he was “the man” while Punk was away from WWE. They both had moments of greatness throughout.

They talked trash, from the opening bell to the finishing sequence. Reigns was telling Punk how he was the best. Maybe he was trying to convince himself of that?

Regardless, the actual action was what mattered.

Punk landed the GTS, a Spear, locked in the Anaconda Vice, and even connected with a Superman Punch. Reigns hit the Superman Punch, a Shield Bomb through a table, and a Guillotine. He even tried the GTS.

A cool moment saw Reigns land multiple Superman Punches while Punk was draped on the apron, outside the ring.

Punk wore the Ula Fala to mock Reigns. They traded submission attempts and got a standing ovation after collapsing. It wouldn’t be the first time Punk did that, as he did so before he could land a definitive GTS to Reigns.

Punk hit a low blow after distracting Reigns and the referee, which was unexpected. He then put Reigns through the announce table with an elbow. As he went for the final GTS, Punk collapsed, and Reigns hit multiple Spears for the win.

Grade: A+

Why CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns earned this WrestleMania 42 main event grade

The match had a great flow to it from start to finish. Roman Reigns surprisingly had a quick entrance. Meanwhile, CM Punk came out to “Miseria Cantare,” setting the tone early.

Unlike Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton, there was no interference or moments to pause in the match. Every move, every emotion shown made sense. Punk and Reigns were there to beat one another up for a title and respect.

It was a real fight. Nothing felt forced. Reigns let out his hatred of Punk, while the latter did everything to prove that, despite being older and leaving WWE years ago, he can still hang.

If you let the wrestlers wrestle, magic happens. CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns was all you could ask for in a WrestleMania match.

Roger James’ success in Australian Group 1 races targeted at three-year-old fillies began early in the 21st century, and the trainer plans to notch up one more this Saturday.

The New Zealand-based horseman, working with co-trainer Robert Wellwood, has Confesara lined up for the $1 million Australasian Oaks at Morphettville in Adelaide.

For her Australian debut over 2000 metres, the daughter of Toronado—who has a maximum past distance of 1500m—produced a promising second to barnmate Dealt With during a fast 1300m trial at Cambridge last Tuesday, affirming her readiness.

“She ran second to another one of ours, a good open (class) sprinter, and they ran a very quick time, so her trial was good and it will improve her,” James said.

“She’s another filly that lacked a bit of luck at times during the season, but she’s a highly-talented filly.

“We always thought she was up to an Australian trip but we sat at home and took things quietly and her form dictated that we’re on the right path.”

James brings proven expertise to Australian three-year-old fillies majors, having guided Sixty Seconds, Giovana and Silent Achiever to Group 1 glory alone, and Prowess and Orchestral in collaboration with Wellwood.

Confesara has been absent from the track since her tight yet dominant success in the Windsor Park Stud 3YO Trophy (1500m) at Ellerslie back on March 7.

That performance came after a third-place finish in the Group 3 Uncle Remus Stakes (1400m), where she was beaten 1.6 lengths by Belle Cheval, later winner of the Arrowfield Stud Stakes, within her six top-three placings from seven outings.

Confesara was one of 31 horses nominated for the Australasian Oaks when declarations ended late last week, with rivals such as top Victorian Getta Good Feeling, Panova ridden by James McDonald, and VRC Oaks victor Strictly Business leading the field.

The 2026 NFL draft is fast approaching, so it’s time to start looking at the Vikings’ draft options. Having previously looked at safety and defensive tackle, we now turn our attention to a position that was a popular choice in the earlier mock drafts for the Vikings’ first round pick, but has cooled off the closer we have got to the draft – cornerback.

How Minnesota Can Navigate the Board at Cornerback

Cornerback is still a position I can see the Vikings looking to add to the roster during the draft. The signing of James Pierre made the team’s position at CB less desperate, but unless Pierre surprises and is better than advertised. Everything at the position isn’t solved and still needs addressing. These are the options throughout the different rounds.

The First Round Certainties

Several cornerbacks could fly off the board in the first round, with Mansoor Delane and Jermod McCoy the most highly rated. Both have the potential to go higher than 18 as genuine lockdown outside corners. If either is on the board at 18, they immediately become extremely strong candidates for the Vikings, who are in desperate need of a long, rangy shutdown CB.

The other first-round option is Avieon Terrell. He is a different kind of CB to Delane and McCoy, largely down to his shorter stature, which will likely see him used primarily as a slot corner. His elite football IQ and playmaking instincts mean he can be very effective from that position, but make his value more towards the back end of the first round.

If the Vikings want a CB and the first two are off the board, trading back and selecting Terrell would be a good value move.

The Vikings Draft Options on Day 2

Day 2 brings a whole host of options at the CB position, starting with Colton Hood. A developmental prospect, Hood is a talented but inconsistent young player with only one full season as a starter. He may take time to cover NFL receivers, but the tools are there for him to become a good outside corner.

There are a couple of smaller, less physical options in Brandon Cisse and D’Angelo Ponds. Cisse can lack physicality at times, but his explosiveness and twitch give him the tools to develop into a starting NFL cornerback, making him a promising prospect for Minnesota on Day 2. Ponds’ football IQ and instincts make him an intriguing prospect. While he plays with clear passion and urgency every snap, his downside is that, at 5’9, 173 lbs, he is very small for the position.

The options keep coming in on Day 2, with this draft full of good CBs who all have at least one flaw. Chris Johnson excels with physicality, spacing, anticipation, and ball skills, but is best suited to playing off-coverage.

Keith Abney lacks length and top-tier athleticism to be a big success in coverage, but his competitiveness and run-defense mentality make him a valuable rotational defensive back with starter potential. Keionte Scott is another tone-setter in run defense with a physical mentality, but also has coverage limitations. Other options in the third round include Treydan Stukes, Davison Igbinosun, and Devin Moore.

The Best of the Rest on Day 3

There aren’t many options I like on Day 3, especially since the Vikings aren’t scheduled to pick until the fifth round. However, a couple of names with potential are Chandler Rivers, Tarico Davis, and Thaddeus Dixon. At nearly 6’4 and 194 lbs, Davis has potential as a matchup against bigger WRs, while his lack of fluidity in movement will see him struggle against the league’s route technicians.

Rivers is a good player with lots of success at the collegiate level, but his below-average size could see him fall into the mid rounds. With an incredibly natural zone feel, spatial awareness, and quick processing, he could prove a steal if the Vikings can land him in the fifth. Despite his smaller frame, he’s not afraid to surge downhill and hit hard, which is a plus point.

Finally, we have Dixon, a high-upside CB who should be available in the middle rounds. At around 6’0″, 195 pounds, with 31 1/2″ arms, Dixon has decent length, to pair with springy, explosive athleticism, elite reactive coil, and twitch. A red flag comes in the form of off-field misdemeanors, so teams will want him to show he has matured. If he has, he could prove to be a steal.

Rodri has given Manchester City an injury worry for the title race after limping off in their 2-1 win over Arsenal.

The Ballon d’Or winner has a groin problem, which will be examined on Sunday or Monday, as Pep Guardiola waits to discover the extent of the damage.

Rodri, who was replaced by Nico Gonzalez when he went off in the 88th minute, has found his best form of the season in recent weeks as City have recorded four straight wins in all competitions.

They go to Burnley in the Premier League on Wednesday and then have an FA Cup semi-final against Southampton on Saturday and could be without Rodri, with Guardiola saying: “The doctors will make tests later or tomorrow.”

The City manager, who had warned the title race would be over if his side lost to league leaders Arsenal, said victory gave his team hope and was pleased they are still alive.

Rayan Cherki opened the scoring for City and, after Kai Havertz levelled following a mistake from Gianluigi Donnarumma, Erling Haaland got a second half-decider.

And Guardiola added: “We have hopes and still extend the chance to fight until the end. We were not in our best, I give a lot of credit to them but we are alive, we are there. Everybody is pushing.”

But Guardiola, whose team remain second but are three points behind with a game in hand on Arsenal, downplayed suggestions they are favourites now.

“Who is top of the league?” he said. “We are not. In goal difference, they are better. Step by step.”

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said he will not be hard to rouse his players from the disappointment of defeat and argued if he cannot motivate them now, he is in the wrong job.

He said: “If I have to pick [up] the players to win the Premier League with five games to go in our hands and [to] be in the final of the Champions League, I think I should be at home. So it’s not the case. It’s not needed. It’s never been needed, even in difficult moments. So we will go again, that’s for sure.”

Harry Kane’s 56th goal of the season helped Bayern Munich continue their domination of German football, with a 4-2 win over VfB Stuttgart sealing a 13th Bundesliga title in 14 years.

The treble-chasing Bavarians face Bayer Leverkusen in the German Cup semi-final next week before taking ⁠on Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-finals as Kane hunts more trophies.

“It’s been a fantastic season for us,” said the England captain and Bundesliga top scorer. “To finish the league off in the ⁠way we have with the goals we scored, ​credit ⁠to the lads. We still have a lot to play for but all the hard work, this makes it all worth it.”

LAS VEGAS – Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio were once brothers in arms in the Judgment Day. The two helped the faction run “Monday Night Raw” for several years.

As championships and opportunities came and went, the rift between Balor and Mysterio grew. It came to a head when Balor caused Mysterio to lose the Intercontinental Championship to Penta. Balor leaving the Judgment Day left Mysterio and Liv Morgan as the leaders with JD McDonagh, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez sticking around.

The latter four chose to ride with Mysterio and attacked Balor on one episode of Raw.

The bitter war led to a match Sunday night at WrestleMania 42. To make matters more interesting, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce made the match a street fight hours before the show was set to begin.

Balor had vowed to bring the “Demon” out and he certainly did.

Balor made his way to the ring in his “Demon” gear, dripping with red and black paint. Mysterio was in a mask with other Mysterio supporters.

The two then proceeded to beat the crud out of each other.

Mysterio wrapped Balor’s head in between a chair and hit a 619 on him. He tried to pin Balor, but to no avail. At another point, Mysterio tossed Balor through a table set up in the corner.

As many have learned, it’s hard to keep your demons down. Mysterio learned the hard way.

Balor would not give up. Balor clotheslined Mysterio, hit him with a chair multiple times before wrapping his head in between the chair and drop-kicking him into the corner. Balor put Mysterio onto a table and hit the Coup de Grâce for the win.
