MANILA, Philippines — Another University of the East Red Warrior took his act to Diliman as Rainer Maga has transferred to the University of the Philippines.
The UP Fighting Maroons on Wednesday announced that Maga has committed to their program after one UAAP season with UE.
Maga will be taking one year residency before making his debut for UP in UAAP Season 89.

He still has two years of eligibility.
Maga followed the foot steps of former Red Warrior Rey Remogat, who will be eligible in Season 88 to join the Fighting Maroons’ title defense.
The 6-foot Maga averaged 8.1 points, including 40-percent from threes, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 22 minutes of action in his lone season with UE.

UP also recruited NCAA Finals MVP James Payosing from San Beda and Jose Maria College standout Arvie Poyos.
Francis Lopez recently bid farewell to Up after turning pro in the Japan B.League.
UP coach Goldwin Monteverde banks on Remogat, who will fill in the void of Finals MVP JD Cagulangan, as well as Harold Alarcon, Gerry Abadiano, and Jacob Bayla.
