» RNC requests voter roll documents from 48 states and DC –

President Donald Trump has long suggested that election fraud played a role in his 2020 election loss to Joe Biden. Now, the RNC is seeking to learn how each state is maintaining voter registration lists.

The RNC wants to make sure that each state is removing “the deceased, criminals, out-of-state movers, and non-citizens” from its voter rolls, per a press release.

“The RNC is once again taking action to make our elections more secure,” RNC Chairman Michael Whatley said in a statement. “Voters have a right to know that their states are properly maintaining voter rolls and quickly acting to clean voter registration lists by removing ineligible voters. If states unlawfully block our requests, or if we discover that states have failed to accurately maintain their voter rolls, the RNC stands ready to act.”

The request follows Trump’s executive order requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections. Voters will have to provide a government-issued document to prove their citizenship.

“The RNC’s records requests are part of its comprehensive election integrity program. The RNC is working to increase transparency in our elections and stands ready to ensure transparency if stats [sic] do not comply,” the press release says.

North Dakota did not receive a records request because it does not require voter registration. If a voter is over 18, a U.S. citizen, and has lived in the state for 30 days before Election Day, they can fill out a ballot. Maryland also did not receive the RNC’s letter.
