Melissa Gilbert Explains Gifts to Boys in Timothy Busfield Case
Melissa Gilbert is continuing to share what she claims is her side of the story three months after her husband, Timothy Busfield, was arrested amid allegations of child sexual abuse.
In an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos on Nightline Monday, April 6, Gilbert, 61, was asked about reports that she and Busfield, 68, gave Christmas gifts to the two boys at the center of Busfield’s case.
“I’ll let Larry get into the specifics of what happened with that part of the complaint,” Gilbert responded, turning to Busfield’s attorney, Larry Stein, who was interviewed alongside her.
“Tim did not give the boys gifts. Melissa gave them gifts,” Stein said. “Melissa gave them and every other child at a Christmas party a gift. Every child at the Christmas party. Not treating them special or different than anyone.”
According to Stein, the twin brothers accusing Busfield of inappropriate touching on the set of Fox’s The Cleaning Lady are “victims in this case,” and the allegations were orchestrated by the boys’ parents after their roles were recast on the show.
“They are victims of the parents, not victims of Tim. … The boys were the parents’ meal ticket, and when they were fired, they assumed Tim was responsible for it. The truth is he was not,” Stein alleged.
Stephanopoulos said that the family of the alleged victims did not respond for comment prior to the interview airing.
In the first part of the interview that aired during the Monday episode of Good Morning America, Gilbert was asked about prior accusations made against Busfield from 1994 and 2012.
“I need to make something really abundantly clear,” she said. “These allegations have been out in the ether for a really long time. When Tim and I got together, the internet existed. I didn’t go into my relationship with him blind. I am neither naive nor am I complicit. I talked to him about it, I asked him questions about it. I heard his side of the story — which no one has ever heard — which is the truth. And when the time is right, and that is not now, Tim will tell the truth of all of these past allegations when he needs to.”
Gilbert shared that she is “100 percent confident” that Busfield will be exonerated, but said that the pair “have to be prepared for all scenarios.”
“We’ve had a lot of ups and downs, we’ve been through struggles, we’ve had our own issues to deal with and we’ve worked through everything,” she said. “He is nothing if not completely honest with me. I trust him with my children’s lives, with my grandchildren’s lives, my nieces and nephews. He is an honorable, caring, generous human being.”
Gilbert became emotional when detailing what “justice” would look like for her and Busfield, replying, “Exoneration, an apology, free him from this cloud.” After the broadcast, Busfield’s civil lawyer, Stein, shared his appreciation for Stephanopoulos for “taking the time to clarify some important facts in this case.”
“We hope the remainder of the interview airing on tonight’s Nightline will make clear that the parents are criminals: one served more than three years in jail and lost their license to practice law for defrauding 1,500 people of $6,000,000, and the other for writing bad checks and stealing cars,” the statement continued.
Us Weekly confirmed in January that an arrest warrant was issued for Busfield after he was accused of child sexual abuse by two twin brothers on the set of The Cleaning Lady. Busfield turned himself into law enforcement days later and denied the allegations.
Gilbert, for her part, came to Busfield’s defense in a statement at the time. (Gilbert and Busfield have been married for 12 years.)
“During this period, her focus is on supporting and caring for their very large family as they navigate this moment,” her rep told Us. “Melissa stands with and supports her husband and will address the public at an appropriate time.”
Busfield’s attorney, Stein, told Us in a statement that the actor was “innocent,” claiming that the accusers’ mother made the allegations in an effort to “get her revenge against Timothy” after her son was fired from the production.
Busfield was released from police custody in January and was indicted by a grand jury in New Mexico on four counts of criminal sexual contact of a child the next month. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and is set to begin trial in May 2027.

The Extreme, R-Rated Slasher That Messed Up By Trying To Be A Kid’s Movie
By Robert Scucci
| Published

Early 90s slashers are so unhinged that I can’t help but love them. My personal favorite is 1992’s Dr. Giggles because of how committed Larry Drake was to the titular role. Every pre-kill exchange is a cheeky one-liner with some kind of surgical wordplay baked in. It’s the kind of slasher designed to be ridiculous, and you’re not supposed to take it seriously in any capacity. You show up for the body count, the humor, the clever kills, and hope you don’t end up too braindead by the time the credits roll.
1995’s Ice Cream Man follows very similar beats to Dr. Giggles, but makes one fatal mistake: it plays like a young adult movie despite its R rating. Here, we have a killer ice cream man portrayed by Clint Howard, and he carries himself a lot like Dr. Giggles. He’s not all there mentally, he has strange flashbacks tied to the troubled past that led to his present-day rampage, and he does it all while driving around in his ice cream truck abducting children.

The problem is that Dr. Giggles plays like a teen scream that adults can also enjoy. Every protagonist in Ice Cream Man is a child, which means you’re expected to root for them like you would in a kids movie. See the problem? It’s fun watching irresponsible teenagers mess with dark forces and pay the consequences. But when it’s only kids who don’t know better, the humor doesn’t land the same way.
It Starts With A Dog Murder And Gets Worse
Ice Cream Man wastes no time setting up its conflict. We’re introduced to Gregory Tudor (Clint Howard), the local ice cream man. Before handing out treats to neighborhood kids, he was institutionalized at the Wishing Well Sanatorium, where he was subjected to cruel medical experiments. These are vaguely explained at best, but from what I could gather, he had green goo injected into his brain and was fed ice cream to keep him compliant.

With that out of the way, let’s talk about the first murder in Ice Cream Man: his landlord’s dog. He really goes for it here, and it immediately sets the tone. Gregory drives around, and if he has no qualms about killing a dog, then kids should be just as easy. Or so he thinks.
When Gregory abducts Roger (Zachary Benjamin) and Small Paul (Mikey LeBeau), it’s up to Johnny Spodak (Justin Isfeld), Heather Langley (Anndi McAfee), and Tuna Cassera (JoJo Adams), who already suspect their creepy ice cream man is behind the disappearances, to put a stop to him.

Outside of Ice Cream Man’s basic plot, there are a couple things you should know. Gregory makes his own ice cream using body parts from his victims, and his truck doubles as a rolling torture chamber. This is a movie that, as far as I can tell, was meant to appeal to kids.
Is It A Kid’s Movie?
The real trouble I have is figuring out who Ice Cream Man is for. I grew up watching stuff like this all the time, so I’m not generally offended by kids sneaking ridiculous slashers behind their parents’ backs. That’s not the issue. I just don’t understand how this movie was ever supposed to reach its intended audience. It’s rated R and packed with over-the-top gore. It’s perfect for sneaking a watch, but no parent in their right mind is seeking this out for their kids.

What’s even more perplexing is that all the young adult beats are there. The adults are incompetent, and it’s up to the kids to take matters into their own hands. You’re supposed to root for them, but they have no charisma and just go through the motions. They even hop on their bikes to do their sleuthing, and I found myself chuckling while humming the Stranger Things theme every time.
I’m not sure if this was intentional or just a byproduct of the premise and production, but most of Ice Cream Man’s humor comes from how emotionally detached everyone feels. They’re just flatly reading their lines. If that was deliberate, it works. I laughed at the rising body count while the cops casually buy ice cream from the guy they’re pretty sure is responsible for the murders.

Even Gregory, running around with heads on a stick, delivers his lines like he’s reading off a cue card. The whole experience is surreal, and definitely something I’d throw on again around Halloween for the fun of it. When my kids are old enough for slashers, I’ll make them endure it, but only as a primer for the far superior Dr. Giggles.

Ice Cream Man is currently streaming for free on Tubi.

Trump Warns Civilization Could Die, Iran Vows 14 Million Will Fight
The U.S.-bred war against Iran appears to be escalating as President Donald Trump continues to use social media to make deadly threats. Early Tuesday, he used Truth Social to follow up on his Easter warning, doubling down on tonight’s deadline for Iran to agree to a deal. Meanwhile, the Iranian president said 14 million people, including himself, have volunteered to defend the country.

Trump Stands On His Deadline For Iran
Donald Trump warned that a “whole civilization will die tonight” if Tehran does not meet his latest deadline to agree to a deal. His deal includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
“A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran.”
Trump has extended previous deadlines but suggested the one set for 8 p.m. in Washington was final. Furthermore, the president has threatened to destroy all of Iran’s power plants and bridges if Tehran does not allow traffic to fully resume in the strait. In peacetime, a fifth of the world’s oil travels through the strait.
Iranian President Says 14M Are Willing To “Sacrifice Their Lives”
President Masoud Pezeshkian posted on X that 14 million Iranians had answered campaigns urging people to volunteer to fight — and said he would join them. According to the Wall Street Journal, the country has also cut off direct communications with the U.S. following Trump’s threat, but talks with the cease-fire mediators are reportedly ongoing.
More than 14 million proud Iranians have so far registered to sacrifice their lives to defend Iran. I too have been, am, and will remain devoted to giving my life for Iran. https://t.co/B9GBHAAEMu
— Masoud Pezeshkian (@drpezeshkian) April 7, 2026
Meanwhile, a Revolutionary Guard general urged parents to send their children to man checkpoints. Also, the Guard warned that Iran would “deprive the U.S. and its allies of the region’s oil and gas for years” and expand its attacks across the Gulf region if Trump carries out his threat.
Earlier, Iranian official Alireza Rahimi issued a video message calling on “all young people, athletes, artists, students and university students and their professors” to form human chains around power plants. Iranians have formed human chains in the past around nuclear sites at times of heightened tensions with the West. Some images of people surrounding power plants were posted by local Iranian media Tuesday. However, it was unclear whether the practice is widespread or quick shots spread by the government.
Responding to Trump’s latest threat, an Iranian diplomat described the country’s civilization as a tree that nourished the West.
“Therefore, no fool would cut off the branch of a tree he is sitting on because he himself would fall first, and it is the sturdy tree that always stands, not the branches and appendages that have grown from it,” Mojtaba Ferdousi Pour, head of the Iranian mission in Cairo, told The Associated Press.
Is Trump Committing War Crimes?
Amid the escalating rhetoric, airstrikes hit two bridges and a train station in Iran. Also, the U.S. struck military targets on the Iranian oil hub of Kharg Island. The attack marked the second time the island was hit by American forces. More than 1,900 people have been killed in Iran since the war began, but the government has not updated the toll for days.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot joined international voices, calling for restraint. Barrot said attacks targeting civilian and energy infrastructure “are barred by the rules of war, international law.”
“They would without doubt trigger a new phase of escalation, of reprisals, that would drag the region and the world economy into a vicious circle,” the minister said on France Info television.
Furthermore, U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres also warned the U.S. that attacks on civilian infrastructure are banned under international law, according to his spokesperson. Such cases are notoriously difficult to prosecute, and Trump told reporters he’s “not at all” concerned about committing war crimes.

Emma Roberts’ Dad Eric Gives Update on Their Relationship
Eric Roberts is sharing rare insight into his relationship with his daughter, Emma Roberts.
During a recent appearance on the “Really Famous With Kara Mayer Robinson” podcast, Eric, 69, was asked whether he and Emma, 35, have a “complicated” relationship.
“Not really. It’s only complicated through outside eyes because they don’t get any of it, so they have their own take, whatever that is,” the Runaway Train actor explained.
According to Eric, people have their assumptions about his relationship with his daughter, but “they’re not really involved.”
He admitted that “it’s not a straight line” when it comes to family.
Eric said that despite what people may think about their bond, “I’m so proud of my daughter.”

“I’m so proud of my kid,” he continued to gush. “She didn’t start off as a great actor, but she became a great actor. She’s fabulous.”
Eric shares Emma with his ex, Kelly Cunningham. When Emma was born in 1991, he recalled, “Emotionally, I was a wash rag.” At the time, the actor was dealing with depression.
“I was not to be depended on emotionally whatsoever because I was a car wreck. I was a car wreck because of many things, but I take full responsibility for it,” he said.
The Dark Knight actor previously spoke about his strained relationship with Emma during an October 2024 episode of the “Inside of You With Michael Rosenbaum” podcast.
Eric said the toughest time in his life was “probably the loss of relationship with my daughter,” referring to the American Horror Story actress.
“There’s not a pain, there’s a sadness for the, most likely, misunderstanding we’ll have forever because we’re human,” Eric expanded further.
At the time, Eric was promoting his memoir, Runaway Train: Or, The Story of My Life So Far, and was asked whether his relationship with Emma was a “big chapter” in the book.
“It should be,” Eric responded. “The problem is it’s indefinable — so I’ll let you be the judge of that.”
In an excerpt from the memoir published by Entertainment Weekly, Eric wrote, “I loved my little daughter with the strength of Hercules, despite my own weaknesses. However, I couldn’t handle the realities of an infant coming into my life, and I couldn’t handle being a parent! I’m still not a father figure. Emma, on the other hand, certainly knows what that role is — now grown up and a mom herself. She’s that person to her first child, Rhodes.” (Emma shares son Rhodes, 5, with ex Garrett Hedlund.)
“I never saw myself as someone who deserved to have physical custody of Emma, not in a million years,” Eric continued. “We both knew better than that. Kelly never claimed I was trying to get physical custody of Emma. There really was no custody fight. I’m very happy to be straightening this out right now.”

Megan Fox’s Hairstylist Chris Dylan on Why She ‘Isn’t Afraid to Experiment’ and How Extensions Make It Easy
Do what you want with your ‘do! Megan Fox’s hairstylist Chris Dylan, the expert behind the actress’ long, glossy locks for her return to Instagram last month, is spilling the secrets behind her ever-changing tresses with ET.
The main takeaway? Switching up your look doesn’t have to be overwhelming.
The pro, who has also worked with celebs including Nicky and Kathy Hilton, Audrina Patridge, Jasmine Tookes, Sofia Richie, Delilah Belle Hamlin, and Kelly Osbourne, says the key to changing your hairstyle comes down to one essential: high-quality extensions.
“As a stylist, I need products I can trust on my clients and on set, and Bellami consistently delivers hair that looks natural, styles beautifully, and lasts,” he shares.
“Whether they want longer hair, more volume, or a completely different vibe, Bellami makes it possible without compromising the health of their hair. It’s luxury hair that still feels wearable and effortless.”
His current go-to: The Halo Pro Hair Extensions, which are a shortcut to achieving good hair days, every day.
Designed for quick transformations, the new launch features a RootReplica scalp-mimic design, FlexMesh construction for breathability, and a SiliconeGrip strip to keep everything secure.
“The Halo Pro is such a great entry point for people who have never worn extensions before,” Dylan explains.
“It’s one of those products that feels very professional but is actually super easy for anyone to use. You can essentially get celebrity hair in under five minutes,” he adds.
And while it can be this simple, make sure to never choose extensions that don’t camouflage with your natural hair in color, density, or placement.
“The best extensions are the ones no one can detect. … When extensions aren’t properly blended, they can look obvious,” he notes.
And once you’ve found the right match, the fun really starts.
“You can add soft waves for that effortless It-girl look, pull the front pieces out for a chic half-up style, or create a full, voluminous ponytail or bun,” he spills.
“Because this hair blends so naturally, it gives the illusion that you just stepped out of the salon.”
The versatility that the line offers is exactly what fuels Dylan’s artistic process with the Transformers star.
“Megan is definitely someone who isn’t afraid to experiment. … She has a very strong sense of style and a clear vision, but she’s also open to exploring new ideas,” he dishes.
“She loves transformation and understands how much hair can change a look or a mood. Whether it’s dramatic length, a bold color moment, or a completely different style, she’s very open to pushing things creatively.”
For their latest look, the pair tapped into a little nostalgia.
“It was important to show Megan stepping into her own power, so naturally we brought it back to 2008/2009 with her signature lengthy 22″ soft black slept-in blowout look.”
And for anyone looking to channel that same energy, extensions are the ultimate beauty hack.
“Bellami lets you explore different looks without the long-term commitment,” the hair guru notes. “You can try anything without making a permanent change.”

Hulu’s Hitman Crime Thriller Is Officially Returning For Another Season
Patrick Dempsey has been around in movies and TV shows for almost 40 years now, following his early breakout role in the 1987 teen romantic comedy, Can’t Buy Me Love, but he also has plenty of other notable roles under his belt. One of his most famous performances that immediately comes to mind is playing Dr. Derek Shepherd in 247 episodes of Grey’s Anatomy, the beloved medical procedural starring Ellen Pompeo that’s been on the air for over 20 years. He first played the character in 2005 before suiting up for the final time in 2021. He’s also famous for playing Dylan in the 2011 sci-fi blockbuster, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, which grossed over $1.1 billion at the box office. He even made his Dexter debut in the now-canceled prequel, Original Sin, which is streaming on Paramount+.
More recently, however, Dempsey has returned to TV with his new network crime thriller, Memory of a Killer, which co-stars Michael Imperioli, a long-time actor on The Sopranos. The first two episodes of Memory of a Killer premiered back at the end of January, and the show just wrapped up with an explosive finale a few days ago that has fans around the world questioning what could happen next. In the finale, Angelo’s work and personal life, which he’s been working all season to keep separate, finally collide in one final confrontation with The Ferryman. Less than three days removed from the Season 1 finale of Memory of a Killer, news broke yesterday evening that the show has been renewed for Season 2. The premiere of the show has scored over 16 million viewers over the last few months, making it one of Fox’s biggest premieres in history, so the decision to renew was likely an easy one.
What is ‘Memory of a Killer’ About?
The official synopsis for Memory of a Killer reads as follows:
“When hitman Angelo is hit with early-onset Alzheimer’s, his worlds collide, putting his family in danger.”
Memory of a Killer is based on the novel De zaak Alzheimer’s by Jeff Geeraerts and Carl Joos, and it was written and created for TV by Tracey Malone and Ed Whitmore. Plot details about Season 2 are being kept under wraps for now, but after such a strong debut season on Fox, it’s a safe bet the network wants to see the show return as quickly as possible.

‘Dune 3’ Is Already Sold Out 9 Months Before Release
The 2026 box office is already having a much healthier year than the last one, and that’s made the looming December showdown between Dune: Part Three and Avengers: Doomsday feel even bigger. According to Box Office Mojo’s year-to-date chart, the domestic box office has already climbed past $2 billion as of April 7, reaching about $2.01 billion. That’s well ahead of where 2025 was at the same point, when the domestic total sat at roughly $1.65 billion.
There’s still a whole summer movie season to get through first, obviously, but December 18 is already shaping up to be one of the wildest release dates Hollywood has booked in years. Warner Bros. lists Dune: Part Three for a December 18, 2026 theatrical release, while Disney has also confirmed Avengers: Doomsday for the exact same day.
And even though both films are still eight months away, Dune: Part Three has already started making noise in a very real way. IMAX has put tickets on sale for its 70mm film screenings of the movie, and the official listing already shows multiple sold-out locations, including major venues in Los Angeles and New York. ComicBook also reported that one resale ticket on eBay reached $999.99, which says a lot about how badly some fans want to lock in that format early.
How Good Is ‘Dune’?
The series is acclaimed for a reason. Villeneuve’s masterful direction, pitch-perfect CGI, and outstanding performances by the cast have made these more than just niche sci-fi. Collider’s Therese Lacson backed this up, stating:
“Villeneuve has set up a lot and I left Dune: Part Two excited for more of this story, especially with surprising cameos that hint at a fantastic future. I’ve criticized a lot of this movie, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a joy to watch on screen. Villeneuve has achieved the impossible, and I’m sure he’s converted many people into becoming Dune fans. But, I can’t help but think that this is how I felt in 2021 when I first saw Part One. Will Dune: Part Two become a pivotal part of a movie franchise or a harbinger of worse things to come?”
Dune: Part Three is due to release on December 18, 2026.

Amazon MGM Developing RoboCop Reboot With Big Franchise Plans : Coastal House Media
The internet’s most unsettling nightmare is about to step fully into the spotlight.
A brand-new trailer for Backrooms, A24’s upcoming horror film based on the viral creepypasta phenomenon, is set to drop tomorrow and fans are already bracing for what could be one of the most disturbing films of the year.
From YouTube Horror to the Big Screen
Backrooms isn’t just another horror movie. It’s the evolution of a digital legend.
The film is directed by Kane Parsons, the creator behind the massively popular Backrooms found-footage series that exploded on YouTube. What started as a low-budget analog horror concept quickly turned into a global phenomenon, with millions drawn to its eerie liminal space aesthetic and unsettling sense of isolation.
Now, A24 is bringing that same nightmare fuel to theaters.
What the Movie Is About
While details remain intentionally cryptic, the story follows a therapist who ventures into a strange alternate dimension after her patient mysteriously disappears.
That dimension is the Backrooms, an endless maze of empty office-like spaces filled with flickering lights, yellow walls, and something far more sinister lurking just out of sight.
If the original concept taught fans anything, it’s this:
you are not supposed to be there.
Backrooms [credit: A24]
Stacked Cast and Big Studio Backing
The film features a strong cast for such an experimental horror concept, including:
- Chiwetel Ejiofor
- Renate Reinsve
- Mark Duplass
- Finn Bennett
- Lukita Maxwell
- Avan Jogia
Behind the scenes, the project is backed by A24 along with major production companies like Atomic Monster, signaling that this isn’t just a niche internet adaptation, it’s a full-scale cinematic event.
Release Date and What to Expect
Backrooms is officially set to hit theaters on May 29, 2026, positioning it as one of A24’s most anticipated horror releases of the year.
The teaser already gave fans a glimpse of its unsettling tone, but tomorrow’s trailer is expected to dive deeper into the story and possibly reveal the creatures and deeper lore that made the original series so terrifying.
Why This Could Be Huge
This isn’t just another horror release. It’s part of a growing trend where internet-born stories are evolving into mainstream cinema.
But Backrooms stands out.
It taps into a very specific kind of fear, the uncanny feeling of being somewhere familiar yet completely wrong. Early footage suggests the film is leaning heavily into psychological dread rather than relying on traditional jump scares.
If it lands, it could become the next breakout horror hit in A24’s lineup.
Final Thoughts
With the full trailer dropping tomorrow, Backrooms is about to go from online legend to mainstream obsession.
And if the studio nails the tone, don’t be surprised if this becomes the horror movie everyone’s talking about heading into summer.

Lil Tjay’s Lawyer Speaks Out Amid His Arrest
An arrest record from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office shows Tjay, legal name Tione Jayden Merritt, was arrested by Seminole police on April 6. His charges are described as “disorderly conduct” and “operating a vehicle without a valid license.” Records show a bond amount of $500 for the conduct charge and $2,500 for the traffic violation.
Per NBC 6, police said a fight broke out in the valet area. Also citing the Seminole Police Department, TMZ reports that “Tjay was involved in a fight prior to Offset getting shot.” The outlet also included a fan photo Offset snapped on April 6, “before the shooting.”
However, there is no specific mention of Offset’s shooting or of any gun-related incidents in Lil Tjay’s booking record. Seminole police reportedly detained a second unnamed person at the Hollywood, Florida, casino, but they have not been charged.

Tjay’s Lawyer Denies His Involvement In Shooting
Meanwhile, in a statement reported by NBC 6, Lil TJay’s lawyer, Dawn M. Florio, denied her client has any involvement in Offset’s shooting. Additionally, she referenced to any suggestion of that as “baseless rumors.”
“We are issuing this release in regards to false rumors that Lil Tjay was involved in a shooting which occurred at the Valet Area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood which resulting in non-life-threatening injuries to Offset, formerly a member of Migos. Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting. Any reporting contrary is false,” the statement read. “We encourage people to consult trusted news sources and verify the accuracy of any reporting, before reflexively sharing or repeating baseless rumors.”
What Happened To Offset?
As previously reported, Offset was shot was by an unnamed person in the valet area of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Police reportedly arrived shortly after and detained two people, while medics transported Set to a nearby hospital. The incident reportedly occured at about 7 p.m. His rep said late Monday that the rapper was okay and under medical supervision.
