Rebecca Ferguson’s 112-Minute Thriller Is Taking Over the World
One of the most hotly anticipated movies of 2026, there are now eight months until Denis Villeneuve‘s stunning adaptation of Frank Herbert‘s Dune novels comes to an explosive end with Dune: Part Three. Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya) will return alongside an all-star cast when the film drops on December 18, joined by the likes of Florence Pugh, Josh Brolin, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Anya Taylor-Joy, and more.
Of this cast, alongside Zendaya, Ferguson is having an incredibly busy year. Starting with the eventual box office flop Mercy, an AI-based sci-fi thriller that co-starred Chris Pratt, Ferguson then released two projects in quick succession, joining a stacked ensemble in the long-awaited Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, followed swiftly by The Magic Faraway Tree, the new fantasy film based on the 1939 children’s novel. With Ferguson having an impressive year, it is perhaps less surprising that another of her many movies is back in the U.S. streaming charts.
The film in question is The Girl on the Train, the 2016 adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ best-selling novel that starred Emily Blunt as Rachel. Unlike the upcoming Dune: Part Three, which is expected to earn close to $1 billion at the box office, The Girl on the Train earned a respectable $174 million against a reported budget of just $45 million. A decade on, and viewers have returned to the often overlooked adaptation, as it ranks as one of the ten most-watched movies on Starz in the U.S., at the time of writing.
What Did Collider Say About ‘The Girl on the Train’?
Despite earning a promising box office haul, The Girl on the Train was less successful with critics. On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the movie received a 44% score, with the consensus reading, “Emily Blunt’s outstanding performance isn’t enough to keep The Girl on the Train from sliding sluggishly into exploitative melodrama.” In Perri Nemiroff‘s review for Collider at the time, she was slightly more positive in her response, saying:
“Taylor needed to knock it all out of the park in order to deliver a winning adaptation. Even the slightest misstep is going to be magnified in this type of film and threaten the credibility of the narrative, and unfortunately that is what happens here.”
The Girl on the Train is streaming on Starz. Stay tuned to Collider for all the latest streaming stories.

DJ Anyma Cancels Coachella 2026 Set Over Wind Conditions
DJ Anyma’s set at the 2026 Coachella Music & Arts Festival was cancelled nearly 20 minutes after he was scheduled to perform.
“I’m sorry everyone,” Anyma, 37, wrote via Instagram early on Saturday, April 11. “We’ve done everything in our control to build the show I’ve worked an entire year on. Safety always comes first and we’re working on a solution now.”
Anyma (real name Matteo Milleri) was scheduled to perform just after midnight on Saturday.
“Due to strong wind conditions affecting Anyma’s stage build, he is unable to perform tonight,” a social media statement from the Coachella organizers read. “Coachella and Anyma have made this decision together with your safety as the priority.”
Anyma had planned to debut his latest audiovisual project, ÆDEN, during Coachella.
“It’s not just music, what you do; it’s music, visuals, and performance at the highest level,” he told Vogue in an interview published Friday, April 10. “Everything is crafted to perfection… and you need dedication, stubbornness, and really to focus to make this stuff like you do it.”
ÆDEN features the single “Bad Angel,” in which K-pop superstar Lisa stars in the music video.
“When you first showed me the visual of this character, I loved it,” Lisa, 29, told Anyma in their joint Vogue profile. “I didn’t even want to add any input on it because [it was] already perfect and on point. The concept and the song just felt so good.”
Whether he’s working on ÆDEN or other works, Anyma is hands-on with every aspect of the production.
“I spend 50 percent of my time on [the visual] and 50 percent on the music,” he told Inked magazine in 2025 of his take on electronic music. “It has passed through many iterations, starting with the Afterlife (event series) sound, which was more inspired by Berlin techno, and later evolving into more of a disco and dance phase. Now, it’s deeply rooted in electro and progressive sounds.”
According to Anyma, he constantly tries to adapt the techno genre.
“It’s hard to say exactly where it’s going to land, but that’s the beauty of these things. You start with a vision, and maybe someone takes it and brings it somewhere else,” he told Inked. “We’re seeing less emphasis on long breaks and more of a continuous, club-oriented vibe. It’s about evolving the sound while keeping it fresh and dynamic.”
For Coachella and his other festival gigs, Anyma keeps trying to up the ante.
“It’s very challenging because you don’t want to mess up the narrative you’re trying to say both sonically and visually,” the record producer said last year. “You don’t want to overstimulate people. It’s very rewarding when it comes together, but more difficult than people think.”

Star Trek Planned To Have Captain Archer Meet Sisko And Kirk During Tribble Troubles
By Chris Snellgrove
| Published

As a nostalgic English professor, I often think about these wise words from John Greenleaf Whittier: “Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these, ‘It might have been.’” No matter what current events are bringing you down (and boy, do you have a lot to choose from right now), nothing will be quite as tragic as the idea that things could have turned out better. That’s not just true of personal or global events, either. In this case, it’s also true of Star Trek: Enterprise.
At this year’s TrekTalks (the annual livestream telethon that raises money for the Hollywood Food Coalition), several Enterprise writers and producers were reunited, including Brannon Braga, Mike Sussman, Phyllis Strong, André Bormanis, and Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens. During the stream, they dished on some of the coolest Enterprise episode pitches that were rejected. Some of them (including a Borg Queen origin story and a crossover with both The Original Series and Deep Space Nine) would have been amazing, and making those episodes could have done what once seemed impossible: saved Star Trek’s most hated spinoff from getting canceled.
Hey, You, Get Off Of My Cloud

Star Trek: Enterprise was a show that, to put it mildly, couldn’t figure out what it wanted to be. Sometimes, it was a proto-Original Series frontier adventure, and other times, it was a post 9/11 nataionlistic parable. By Season 4, showrunner Manny Coto had transformed Enterprise into a must-see Star Trek show, but the damage was already done, and the show was canceled. That made it the first Trek show since The Animated Series to get fewer than seven seasons, and Enterprise was deemed a failure. However, the assembled writers and producers who reunited for Trek Talks revealed some rejected episode pitches that might have saved this underappreciated series.
For example, André Bormanis pitched a prequel to the Original Series episode “The Cloud Minders,” which featured an upper class of citizens literally living in the clouds while an underclass labored in the mines below. Bormani pitched an episode that would have shown the city in the sky being built while social unease and income inequality grew worse. Coto wanted to shoot this episode for Season 5, but Enterprise was canceled before that could happen.
From The Romulan War To World War III

Speaking of the Coto and his scrapped plans for Enterprise, he was really keen on finally portraying the Romulan War onscreen. Mike Sussman confirmed that the late showrunner wanted to finally show the audience the Earth/Romulus conflict that had only been referenced in passing back in the Original Series. Brannon Braga chimed in and alluded to Coto having this planned out for Season 5, confirming that the early cancellation of Enterprise took yet another awesome story away from us.
Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens confirmed they had pitched an episode where Colonel Green (previously seen in the TOS episode “The Savage Curtain”) would survive and torment the descendants of those who fought him, with the audience discovering that Reed’s grandfather supported Green. In case his name doesn’t ring a bell, Green is the war criminal generally credited with starting World War III. Bringing him into an Enterprise episode would have shed light on Star Trek’s most mysterious and generally unexplored time period, but this episode was rejected because it was too similar to storylines involving the Khan-like Augments, themselves a remnant of WW3-era Earth.
Borg Queen Origin Story

This same writing duo also pitched an episode where Alice Krige plays the head of Starfleet Medical and willingly chooses “to join the Collective.” For better or for worse, this would have provided an origin story for the Borg Queen, a character that many Star Trek fans feel has never made much sense.
This would have been a high-risk, high-reward story because it would either finally nestle this strange character into existing canon or ruin the Borg altogether. However, Reeves-Stevens have a great track record(they also wrote some of the best fiction and non-fiction books in Trek history), so if anyone could pull it off, it’s them.
Archer Meets Both Kirk And Sisko Amid The Trouble With Tribbles

The husband/wife writing duo’s final rejected Enterprise pitch was, far and away, the most ambitious. Had the show made it to Season 7, they wanted to feature one last Temporal Cold War episode in which Captain Archer and his crew would have to return to space station K-7 during the events of “The Trouble With Tribbles.”
There, they’d run into both Kirk’s crew from the original episode and Sisko’s crew from “Trials and Tribble-ations.” In retrospect, such an ambitious episode would have been far better than the Enterprise finale, which turned the show’s final story into Commander Riker’s bizarre holodeck simulation.
The Path Not Taken

That series finale was so bad that many Star Trek fans are grateful that Enterprise was canceled before it could get any worse. However, aside from the finale, Season 4 was a high point for this controversial show, and these rejected stories reveal the series’s still untapped potential.
Now, I can’t help but wonder if these episodes could have turned the metaphorical ship around, getting both fans and the network on board for more adventures with the franchise’s quirkiest crew. Had that happened, Enterprise would not have been canceled, and the future of Star Trek might not have landed in the hands of the creative world’s most fearsome villain: Alex Kurtzman.

The Pitt’s Shawn Hatosy ‘Disappointed’ by Supriya Ganesh Exit
Shawn Hatosy reacted to the news that his The Pitt costar Supriya Ganesh will not return for the upcoming third season of the medical hit.
“I can’t really comment because I don’t really know exactly what’s going on there, but he’s obviously disappointed,” Hatosy, 50, told Gold Derby in a Friday, April 10, interview, referring to his character. “I’m disappointed just because of this dynamic [and] this relationship that they have … the writers teased these moments throughout season 1 and we explored it.”
Hatosy stars on The Pitt as Dr. Abbot, a night shift attending who works with SWAT during the day. Ganesh, 28, meanwhile portrays resident Dr. Mohan. News broke earlier in April that Ganesh won’t return for season 3, which was a “story-driven” decision.
Throughout both season 1 and 2, fans have shipped Abbot and Mohan, especially when he offered to cover funds for a pricy procedure with no questions asked.
“There’s no there there other than this idea, so the idea isn’t finished,” Hatosy told Gold Derby. “I think that Supriya’s characterization of Dr. Mohan and what she has brought to it has made the audience love her in a big way, you know, she’s a fan-favorite.”
He continued, “I would say that Dr. Abbot is the head of [Mohan’s] fan club, you know, and early on he’s believed in her and he sees her as the future. He says that she’s the smartest one here.”
According to Hatosy, he’d want to bring Ganesh’s Mohan to the night shift for a potential spinoff.
“I think the power dynamic is obvious, so I don’t see Abbot as someone who would cross that line,” he teased of fan hope for an onscreen romance. “I think that’s what makes the relationship so special because it’s clear that he’s got that attraction, but there’s nowhere to go with it. That creates this excitement, you know?”

Ganesh has not publicly addressed her The Pitt departure, though previously questioned her character’s future.
“It’s up to the writers. Let’s see where they end up taking her,” Ganesh exclusively told Us Weekly in March. “I think we left her in a really interesting spot. I’m really curious where she ends up going.”
Ganesh also canceled her planned appearance at the cast’s PaleyFest panel this weekend.
“Hi everyone — not sure why it’s not removed off the site but I will not be at Paleyfest this Sunday,” she wrote via her Instagram Stories on Thursday, April 9. “I know some of you bought tickets to see me and I hope you know this is not a decision I take lightly. Love you all.”
The Pitt season 2 finale airs on HBO Max Thursday, April 16 at 9 p.m. ET.

‘RHOA’ Alum Marlo Hampton Blames Porsha for Firing
Marlo Hampton is one of the most talked-about cast members from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Most recently, she appeared on the show for its 14th and 15th seasons. Now, years after her exit, she’s slamming former costar Porsha Williams in a fiery new interview. Plus, she gave an update on where she stands with other “RHOA” ladies, such as Kenya Moore.
Marlo Hampton Slams ‘RHOA’ Star Porsha Williams

Hampton appeared on an April 2026 episode of Cam Newton’s “Funky Friday” podcast for an extensive interview. During a section of the conversation, the NFL icon asked the 50-year-old “RHOA” alum where she stood with some of her former costars.
When he mentioned Williams’ name, she said, “I don’t like her. She’s a hater, complicated.” After that, she continued, “But anyway, that’s just complicated because she was very against me coming back two seasons ago.”
Hampton then explained that when Williams was in talks to return to “RHOA” for season 16, “she was “one of the main people against me coming back.” She went on, “And one thing I don’t play with, I would never try to stop someone from getting their check.
The ‘RHOA’ Alum Explained Why Porsha Williams Didn’t Want To Film With Her

Hampton continued this line of discussion, revealing why she thinks Williams didn’t want her on “RHOA” season 16. She said, “I’m the one who will hold her accountable. I’m gonna ask the questions. She likes to run sh-t.”
From there, Newton asked why Bravo would go along with Williams’ demands. She stated, “I don’t know. She sold them a dream that she was coming on with a husband and gonna live this huge lifestyle and be in this expensive home.”
Hampton went on to note that Williams was unable to deliver what she seemingly promised for season 16 of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” noting that she was going through a divorce and couldn’t show her home at the time.
Elsewhere in the interview, Hampton also slammed Moore, calling her a “hater” and “disgusting.” The “RHOA” alum also claimed that Moore “goes too far.” However, she also admitted that many on the cast, including herself, went too far, leading Bravo to make changes to the show.
‘RHOA’ Fans Are Divided

As mentioned, Hampton is one of the most revered former cast members from “RHOA.” However, her appearances in seasons 14 and 14 left many fans of the hit Bravo show with sour tastes in their mouths. Because of this, some are calling her latest comments hypocritical.
One person said on Instagram, “Marlo, this is how we feel about you.” Another fan wrote, “Marlo, you have always been a Porsha hater.”
A different social media user said, “Kenya goes too far? They act like they never did anything to Kenya. Apollo literally lied on her, and the whole world believed it when Pheadra co-signed that lie. Marlo said Kenya didn’t give birth to Brooklyn and called her a test tube baby. Like, let’s be for real. But when Kenya claps back, it’s too far.”
Someone else wrote, “Porsha has not hated on Marlo at all. Marlo on the other hand was always hating on Porsha. Nobody wanted you to come back.”
Marlo Announced Her Exit In 2024

Hampton made her first appearance on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” during the show’s 4th season as a friend of. After that, she was featured on multiple seasons of the show in this capacity. It wasn’t until season 14 that she became a full-time housewife, a role she maintained through the following installment.
However, in February 2024, she announced she would not be returning for the show’s 16th season. Hampton told PEOPLE, “My contract with ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ ended when season 15 wrapped. This break from ‘RHOA’ is a fresh start, allowing me the space to participate in new creative entertainment projects focused on my future, and not reliving my past.”
She concluded, “I look forward to my continued relationship with Bravo and NBC Universal.”
Hampton Recently Sent Her Nephew Off To College

“RHOA” fans know that a significant part of Hampton’s storyline for her last two seasons involved her taking custody of her two nephews. After her time on the show ended, she provided updates on the boys via social media, including the college admission process for the older of the two, Michael.
According to Bravo, she confirmed in April 2025 that he was preparing to go away for college. She said in a social media post, “Michael and William, I love you more than words can say. We’ve grown so much together—through the challenges, the joy, and all the little moments in between. Becoming a family under one roof wasn’t always easy, but I wouldn’t change a thing.”
The “RHOA” alum added, “Watching you both grow into incredible young men fills me with so much pride. As we step into this next chapter with Michael heading to college, I’m ready for all that’s to come—together, always.”
He is now a student at Hampton University.

In her earlier message to fans, Kristy admitted that even just leaving the house can trigger anxiety, not because of getting ready, but because of actually stepping out the door. However, she shared that forcing herself to show up has been paying off, and she’s now focused on saying yes more, leaning into hobbies, and prioritizing experiences for herself. She also noted that post-pandemic habits contributed to her social anxiety, but she’s actively working through it by attending more meaningful events—and now fans are watching as she puts that growth into action in real time.
