Katy Perry is reportedly under investigation by Australian police following shocking allegations made by Ruby Rose. Page Six reported the update just days after Ruby’s claims went viral. Rose accused the ‘I Kissed A Girl’ singer of rubbing her bare vulva on Rose’s face inside a nightclub in 2010. While Rose claimed to have evidence and witnesses, Perry’s rep has called the claims false.
Ruby Rose launched her sexual assault claims against Katy Perry on Sunday. First, she replied to a Complex article which highlighted Katy Perry’s reaction to Justin Bieber’s Coachella performance. Rose replied, “Katy Perry [sexually] assaulted me at Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a sh*t what she thinks.” In another post, the ‘Orange Is The New Black’ actress revealed she was in her early 20s when the incident happened.
“I’m now 40. It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly,” Ruby Rose wrote on Threads. “Though I am grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes. Thank you for seeing me.”
Another reply, per PEOPLE, said that Katy Perry saw Ruby Rose resting her head on her friend’s lap in the nightclub “to avoid her,” then suddenly the singer, “bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her.”
The actress continued to reveal details as fans asked questions about the incident. She confirmed she didn’t file a report at the time. However, she welcomed a lawsuit from Katy Perry , doubting it would actually happen. “She won’t, because it happened, I have photos and it was literally in public and witnessed by multiple people. Plus there is so much more that happened in the years leading up to her silly song she won’t want me discussing. The psychological manipulation is strong with that one.”
Ruby Rose said she turned the nightclub incident into a “funny little drunk story” while telling it publicly because she “didn’t know how else to handle it.” Also, Perry later allegedly agreed to Rose secure her US visa, and Rose kept what happened “a secret.”
On Monday (April 13), a rep for Katy Perry shut down the sexual misconduct allegations. The rep also called out Ruby Rose, claiming she has a history of making baseless accusations.
“The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous, reckless lies. Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named,” the rep reportedly said, per PEOPLE.
On Tuesday (April 14), Ruby Rose circled back to Threads to double down on her sexual assault allegations against Katy Perry. She had followed through on a previous post about taking the matter to the police, and her Tuesday post served as a “last update.”
“As of this afternoon, I have finalized all of my reports. This means I am no longer able to comment, repost, or talk publicly about any of those cases, or the individuals involved. It’s going to look like I am ignoring everything from supportive messages, to other people’s experiences, but I’m not,” Ruby Rose wrote on Threads. “This is a standard request from the police and in many ways, quite the relief. I can start the healing process now. And temporary move forward. I love you all so much.”
That same day, the Acting Sergeant of Victoria Police, Paul Hogan, gave a statement to Page Six on the matter. Hogan confirmed an investigation is underway.
“Melbourne Sexual Offenses and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives are investigating a historical sexual assault that occurred in Melbourne in 2010,” Hogan said. “Police have been told the incident occurred at a licensed premises in Melbourne’s Central Business District.”
Katy Perry has spoken out against Ruby Rose’s claims aside from her rep’s statement. However, also on Tuesday, she reportedly shared her 2013 song, ‘By The Grace of God’, on Instagram Stories with the message, “I love you.”
What Do You Think Roomies?
Forget peekaboo cutouts and thigh-high slits — celebs are all about showing some serious skin on the red carpet.
Wearing outfits with expertly placed floral appliqués, lace in just the right place, or deciding to simply free the nipple has been going on for years. Take Rihanna, for example. The mom-to-be made a splash at the CFDA Fashion Awards in 2014 when she arrived in an Adam Selman sheer gown — sans a bra.
Such was the case for Zoë Kravitz at the 2021 Met Gala. The actress wore a see-through Yves Saint Laurent gown made of mesh. While she topped a handful of “best dressed” lists, some negative comments on social media got under her skin.
That same year, all eyes were on Megan Fox’s barely-there Mugler gown at the 2021 VMAs.
Actress Marta Pozzan also revealed her curves in a sheer lace Vaillant dress at the Daily Front Row’s Fashion Awards in April 2026. Her look was finished with a peplum waist.

Having completed nearly a month in theaters worldwide, Project Hail Mary recently passed the coveted $500 million milestone at the global box office. The movie is on track to overtake its spiritual precursor, The Martian, in the coming days after having already surpassed the title domestically. Both sci-fi epics were based on bestselling novels by Andy Weir and scripted by Drew Goddard. The Martian received a Best Picture nod at the Oscars a decade ago, after grossing $630 million worldwide. Project Hail Mary has maintained an even higher Rotten Tomatoes score than that film, and is poised for awards season success as well. It’s now sitting at a 94% score on Rotten Tomatoes, compared to the 91% of The Martian. Over the course of its run, Project Hail Mary has overtaken several past sci-fi epics, many of which were equally well-received.
For instance, this past weekend, it overtook the lifetime worldwide box-office haul of War for the Planet of the Apes, directed by Matt Reeves. It had previously passed Christopher Nolan‘s Interstellar and the Will Smith-led dystopian epic I Am Legend. In its fourth week of release, Project Hail Mary overtook one of the best-reviewed sci-fi franchise-starters of the last two decades. The movie in question was released in 2009, but we aren’t talking about James Cameron‘s Avatar. That year saw the release of another sci-fi hit that coincidentally featured Zoe Saldaña in the cast.
We’re talking, of course, about J.J. Abrams‘ Star Trek. The film grossed $257 million at the domestic box office, but it underperformed overseas for a worldwide haul of approximately $390 million. Project Hail Mary‘s domestic haul currently stands at $258 million. Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the movie stars Ryan Gosling as the lead. Star Trek, on the other hand, starred Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, John Cho, and the late Anton Yelchin alongside Saldaña. The movie was followed by two sequels, Star Trek Into Darkness, also directed by Abrams, and Star Trek Beyond, directed by Justin Lin. The movies were simply not successful enough in international markets to justify the long-rumored fourth installment. However, a sprawling new television universe overseen by Alex Kurtzman is thriving on Paramount+.

Cox’s illness gets worse in a finale that also sees the return of two beloved characters.
Blake Lively is reportedly still hopeful that she will be invited to Taylor Swift‘s wedding to Travis Kelce despite the strain their relationship has suffered in recent times.
The “Blank Space” singer has reportedly sent out save-the-dates, but most likely didn’t send one to the “Gossip Girl” star after being dragged into her legal battle.
It comes amid Blake Lively’s legal battle with Justin Baldoni, where a judge dismissed 10 out of her 13 claims against him, including sexual harassment.

Despite reports suggesting Lively and Swift are no longer on speaking terms, the “A Simple Favor” actress is said to still be confident she will be invited to the pop star’s wedding to Travis Kelce.
Both stars used to be very good friends, but their relationship reportedly tanked after Swift was pulled into her ongoing court case with Baldoni.
Yet, insiders claim that she’s convinced the singer would invite her regardless and is patiently waiting.
“Blake is totally optimistic,” a source said, according to a report. “She keeps going back to the beginning. She was around when Taylor and Travis first got together — she feels like part of their story.”
The source added that while Lively remains “hopeful,” she may be the only person “who thinks this invite is coming.”

Lively was still close friends with Swift when the pop star and Kelce first got together, and even accompanied the singer to watch him play the 2024 Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas and at the Kansas City Chiefs vs. New York Jets game in October 2023.
Noting this, the insider went further to explain that despite media reports of the strained relationship, Lively sees herself as “inner circle,” and her presence at the nuptials as a must-have.
“She sees herself as inner circle,” the source said. “Not optional — essential.”
Meanwhile, it appears Swift doesn’t share the same sentiment and would like to keep her distance from Lively, especially because of her ongoing legal issues.

After Judge Lewis Liman dismissed most of her claims against Baldoni, Lively took to her Instagram account to share a lengthy statement saying she plans to fight it out till the end and was doing it for other victims who might not have the opportunity to speak up.
However, according to reports, this is something the Grammy winner doesn’t want, especially with her big day approaching. Swift allegedly wants all the legal drama wrapped up and done before the wedding.
“People around Taylor aren’t so sure,” the insider told journalist Rob Shuter. “They don’t see Blake as a must-have guest.”
“There’s a lot of baggage right now,” they added. “And Taylor is being incredibly careful about her guest list.”

A source previously told the journalist that Swift is carefully watching how things develop and doesn’t want to be involved in the case again, while another source emphasized that Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, will not be invited to Swift’s wedding.
“They are not invited. Period,” the insider said. “Taylor wants a drama-free day, and she no longer trusts Blake or Ryan.”
Swift was also said to be feeling “exposed and violated” after her texts with Lively were exposed due to the case, and concluded not to invite the couple a long time ago.
“There’s been an emotional gap for a long time,” a source noted. “Rebuilding trust doesn’t feel possible right now.”

Meanwhile, reports suggest Swift’s wedding is slated to go down over the 4th of July weekend.
It’s unclear what the lineup of the event is, as everything has been kept hush-hush, but the lovebirds are seemingly going for a rather small gathering with 150 guests.
According to Us Weekly, these include “many celebrities” like Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Emma Stone, the Haim sisters, Zoë Kravitz, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, and Miles and Keleigh Teller.
A source told the news outlet that Swift and Kelce had “gone back and forth between inviting everyone and keeping it small and private,” adding that they settled on scaling it down and “It’s no longer going to be a massive blowout.”
The wedding will reportedly be “traditional” with the singer’s father walking her down the aisle, coupled with every other practice like the father- daughter dance.
“Taylor loves those emotional, meaningful moments, and Travis [is] on the same page,” the source revealed.

Kendra Duggar’s immediate family is speaking out after Joseph Duggar was arrested amid accusations of sexual abuse.
“Our family is both troubled and heartbroken over the alleged actions committed by our son-in-law,” the Caldwell family wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, April 15. “We are devastated for the young girl, a child who was courageous in every way to share her truth. We stand by her, both in support and prayer, and forever will.”
The statement continued, “Our love for this child remains at the forefront of our family’s priorities and minds. We are proud of her for being strong enough to share her story while also retaining her own identity and joy.”
Us Weekly previously confirmed on March 18 that Joseph, 31, was arrested in Arkansas amid accusations of sexual abuse from a teen girl who was 9 years old at the time of the alleged incident.
The former 19 Kids and Counting star pleaded not guilty to all charges, including lewd and lascivious behavior involving molestation of a victim less than 12 years old and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 years or older.

Joseph was released from a Florida jail on March 31 after posting $600,000 bail. His lawyer confirmed to People that he was able to reunite with Kendra one day later.
While Kendra’s family said they pray for all victims of crimes, they also “recognize how traumatic this incident has been for our grandchildren as well and continue to pray for their strength. Our love for them, and our daughter Kendra, remains.”
“The only way to freedom is to shine light in the darkness,” the statement continued. “And in this time, part of the light in our lives has come through the outpouring of love and prayer from people near and far. Thank you who have given in all the ways, through prayer, finances, time, energy and words of encouragement. We love you all. At this time, we have no further comment and request privacy.”
Earlier this month, Kendra’s family made news when they launched a GoFundMe page.
“My family is facing a difficult and urgent situation. We are in need to cover displacement expenses,” Kendra’s father, Paul Caldwell, stated in the crowdfunding initiative. “We will not be using these funds for [our] legal expenses.”
While the page was briefly removed, it reappeared with another note from Paul, who expressed gratitude for those supporting his family.
“Thank you so much everyone. The response has been overwhelming. We truly appreciate your generosity and prayers and thoughts,” he wrote. “The displacement fees will be for moving expenses, housing costs such as rent until we can find a place to stay more permanently.”
After Joseph’s arrest, both he and Kendra were arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and false imprisonment. A source close to the family later told Us that Kendra’s arrest was unrelated to the allegations against her husband and apparently triggered by an investigation of their home.

Meghan Markle is set to headline a luxury wellness retreat in Australia, with VIP packages priced at up to $3K, featuring wellness sessions and photo opportunities.
According to a royal expert, the duchess is considering this as a new means to “generate income” for herself, and the move aligns with her growing focus on lifestyle ventures, alongside her brand As Ever.
During her visit to Australia, Meghan Markle will also appear on MasterChef Australia, blending media, wellness, and commercial engagements.

Meghan’s “Her Best Life” retreat includes premium experiences such as group photo opportunities with the Duchess of Sussex, curated wellness sessions, spa-style activities, and multi-day stays at an upscale coastal hotel.
Standard tickets are also available at a lower rate, though both tiers grant access to talks, workshops, and lifestyle-focused events.
An insider familiar with the industry told Page Six the move fits into Meghan’s broader lifestyle and wellness brand positioning, noting that audiences are increasingly willing to pay for celebrity-led experiences centered around personal development and self-care.
Grant Harrold, former royal butler to King Charles III, also commented on the venture, noting that he “wasn’t surprised to hear about Meghan exploring this as a new way to generate income.”
“People pay a lot of money to attend these retreats, and with Meghan [as] the face of the event, they are sure to generate a decent profit,” he added.
Harrold further noted that she has steadily built a presence in the lifestyle sector through projects such as As Ever and earlier media work.
According to him, unlike traditional royal family members who tend to keep wellness interests private, Meghan has taken a more public and commercial approach since stepping back from royal duties in 2020.

Harrold shared that he does not expect the initiative to create tension within the royal household, adding that Harry may have informed King Charles III beforehand as part of efforts to maintain communication with his father.
“I don’t think the King or other members of the Royal Family will take issue with this,” he said, suggesting they would likely prefer “Meghan made money from this than a tell-all book or yet another TV interview.”
He also highlighted that other royals, including Zara Tindall, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie, have pursued independent careers, arguing that modern royal relatives often need alternative income streams.
On whether formal approval was needed, Harrold said Meghan would not require royal permission, but believes Harry likely gave King Charles a prior heads-up as part of maintaining family relations while the couple continues their Australia visit from April 17 to 19.

In the same period, Meghan is also set to appear as a guest judge on the upcoming season of MasterChef Australia, with filming confirmed by Network Ten. The show’s 18th season is scheduled to premiere on April 19.
Meghan and Harry are currently undertaking a four-day visit to Australia, combining charitable engagements with professional commitments. T
he trip marks their first return to the country since their 2018 royal tour, shortly after their wedding, and follows their decision to step back as senior royals in 2020.

During the trip, the couple has attended a range of events across Melbourne and Canberra.
Harry spent time with an Australian Rules football team, learning the basics of the game, and also visited the Australian War Memorial.
Meghan, on her part, visited the Royal Children’s Hospital, where she met staff and served meals at a women’s shelter.
The couple also spent time with local communities earlier in the week, including a hospital visit where they met children and families.

Meanwhile, speculation continues about Meghan’s lifestyle venture, As Ever, and its possible entry into the Australian market.
While reports point to recent trademark activity across several product areas, a spokesperson for Meghan and Prince Harry has pushed back on the narrative, telling People Magazine that Australia is simply “one of many” countries where the brand has been registered.
Public records from Australia’s intellectual property authority indicate that the brand has secured protections across a wide and diverse range of categories.
These reportedly include beauty and skincare products, pet care items, candles, gardening equipment, jewelry, stationery, furniture, yoga accessories, as well as hospitality-related services such as food, beverages, and short-term accommodation.
Additional filings also appear to cover outdoor décor, craft materials, and edible products like jams, which have been highlighted as a signature part of the brand concept, alongside sauces and non-alcoholic drink mixes.
The registrations further extend into media and digital spaces, including internet broadcasting, content production, downloadable and non-downloadable entertainment such as films, television content, and video podcasts.
Jaws may have laid the blueprint for many shark films to come, but this year, Netflix’s newest creature feature, Thrash, proves that there are still undiscovered waters to wade into. Instead of one behemoth of a shark terrorizing folks who dare to enter its territory, Thrash throws a multitude of smaller (but no less terrifying) bull sharks into the floodwaters of a town struck by a Category 5 hurricane.
It begins as your usual foray into a creature feature as we’re introduced to several characters, some who would turn into survivors and others fodder, but there is one storyline that becomes increasingly more unrealistic and is better for it. One of the characters stuck in the chaos is Lisa (Phoebe Dynevor), a single soon-to-be mother who stars in the gnarliest scene of the movie, one that may just give future horror films a run for their money.
Most shark films involve a group of intrepid or ambitious people diving into the deep blue sea, but Thrash takes the Rogue approach, where a hurricane floods and de-familiarizes the streets of a coastal town. This is the first step towards the absolutely berserk scene the film is setting up — one that allows a woman to give birth in shark-infested waters. In the beginning, Lisa is trapped in her car before the agoraphobic Dakota (Whitney Peak) finally musters enough courage to help her. She leaves Lisa on the bed of her second-storey bedroom to find a boat, which is when Lisa’s scene really begins. As the water level rises, the bed floats to the ceiling and Lisa continues to dilate, and anticipation drastically ratchets up until she is clutching her newborn in a pool of blood while menacing fins circle her.
Conceptually, a pregnant woman not only surviving this shark-pocalypse, but also successfully giving birth, is ludicrous and laughable. It is imagination stretched to the unreachable limits. Yet, as we watch Lisa almost rabidly sever her umbilical cord then immediately turn around to skewer a shark in the head, there’s no doubt that this is the peak of gnarly cinema. To add to the ridiculousness of the scenario is the tiny twist of irony of Lisa being vehemently against doing the water birth encouraged by her mother, only to perform it in the most perilous way possible — the kind of humor we scoff at but secretly appreciate. There may be something deeper, like an allegory of the anxieties around pregnancy and motherhood for women, but the most compelling part of the scene is truly the creativity. It is hilarious, ferocious, and everything we crave in a B horror movie.
The wildest part of Lisa’s childbirth scene in Thrash is that, on a technical level, it is actually brilliant. It kicks off when the bed begins to float and Lisa reaches for her birth playlist to flick on “A Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton, the perfectly dissonant soundtrack to the utter devastation around her. Alongside the masterful sound design is the claustrophobia of the bed inching towards the ceiling, eerily forecasting the moment she would have to leave the relative safety of the room while making for a visually morbid yet captivating scene. Similar to how the flood de-familiarizes the town, watching everyday items float around her while she is lurching around the bed in unimaginable pain evokes a surreal kind of horror. Already, it is the ideal set up for the bonkers sequence yet to come.
Sequel to the Best Godzilla Movie Ever Made Officially Debuts Jaw-Dropping First Trailer
The sequel to the Oscar-winning hit made a big splash at CinemaCon.
Once again, disregarding the absurdity of it all, Dynevor’s performance is all-consuming throughout Lisa’s entire ordeal. It would be too farfetched to say Dynevor sells the scene, but she certainly sells Lisa’s pain, desperation, and the brutal rush of adrenaline that invokes the super-strength associated with a maternal instinct. She is fully immersed in her role and cinches the audience’s favor — we’re all rooting for her as she viciously protects her newborn without skipping a beat after losing so much blood. Even the film seems to need to take a break, as there is a silent overhead shot of Lisa swimming in water that is darkening with her blood, a grim, dangerous, yet almost triumphant moment that contrasts with the rest of the mayhem. With Peak’s Dakota covering her with a harpoon gun on the sidelines, the scene is wonderfully acted, enhancing the sheer egregiousness of it all.
Thrash takes survival to a whole new level with this one scene, and it’s a must-watch for any fan of creature features. Between the complete absurdity of the situation and how incredibly they executed it, Lisa’s childbirth sequence is already by far the gnarliest one we’ve seen in horror movies this year. It is B-horror at its best, filled with all the little ironies and delicious terror we search for in the genre.
