On Tuesday’s “The Daily Take”: NewsNation’s Connell McShane and Geraldo Rivera discuss the latest in the U.S.-Iran conflict, specifically comments made by recently by President Trump regarding the war’s impact on Americans. When asked how much Americans’ financial situation motivates him to make a deal with Iran, Trump said, “Not even a little bit. The only thing that matters when I’m talking about Iran — they can’t have a nuclear weapon.” Rivera says he can’t believe the president isn’t thinking about the voters who put him in power and keep him in power.

President Donald Trump said Americans’ financial situation was “not even a little bit” of a motivating factor for him reaching a deal to end the war in Iran, despite a new report that inflation rose for a second consecutive month and hit a three-year high.

Trump made the comment on Tuesday as he took questions from reporters as he left the White House for a high-stakes trip to China.
