Meet Your Match: Spring Dresses & Perfectly Paired Bags
Emporior Sirenuse Dress, JB x Margaux Sandals, Irene Neuwirth Earrings
Spring dresses are all about lighter fabrics, more color, a little more personality. And whether it’s vacation, evening, beach days, or just daytime plans, there’s always a way to pull a bag into the mix.
When you have fun with it, the bags pick up on what’s already happening in the dress, pulling out a color, matching the tone, or mirroring the texture. It’s a simple formula, but it makes the outfit feel complete right away.

The fringe Capriccio embroidered bag ties back to the texture and movement of the embellished dress, while the Alémais Charlie mini cross body bag pulls directly from the print of the matching day dress. The deep tones in the Attico silk dress are picked up again with the Call It By Your Name mini basket in burgundy.
Brighter pieces follow the same idea. The blue All That Remains dress paired with the Pura Utz beaded pouch, and the Rixo multicolor dress grounded with the macramé sun print bag. For something lighter, the Siedrés chiffon dress works back to the sequined Lizzie Fortunato bag, and a neutral fringe dress is finished with the Marlies Grace crocheted clutch.

Suit of the Week: Mango

For busy working women, the suit is often the easiest outfit to throw on in the morning. In general, this feature is not about interview suits for women, which should be as classic and basic as you get — instead, this feature is about the slightly different suit that is fashionable, yet professional. Also: we just updated our big roundup for the best women’s suits of 2026!
I think this bubblegum pink suit from Mango is so cute — but how do we feel about the black shoes?
I ask because I would not have thought that black goes well with a pink like this — although I couldn’t tel you why. I think this is one of the few cases where Mary Jane flats look great because the exposed skin leaves it from feeling too heavy. But then the question becomes: what other color shoes or belt is best to wear with light pink? A tan? A nude for you? Something slightly softer, like a gray or a dark brown? I can’t recall ever really pondering this before.
The suit itself is on the affordable side — the blazer, pants and waistcoat range from $89-$150. (The waistcoat is a halter, which I don’t recommend for most offices, but I’d love to hear your thoughts.) In good news, the suit is available in sizes 0-22 (EUR 32-54), and as well as in a pretty brown and ecru.
(The pictured shoes are $89 — they remind me a bit of the Una from M.Gemi.)

Happy Administrative Professionals Day – What Are You Getting Yours?
This post may contain affiliate links and Corporette® may earn commissions for purchases made through links in this post. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.

Today is Administrative Professionals Day — what are you getting yours? Do you give the same amount every year or does it vary? Does your company or firm have a culture around this holiday? (At my old firm, we had a rule of thumb for end of year holiday gifts that readers were horrified at: $100 per year you’d been with the firm.)
(In the past, the most common answer was: CASH, perhaps with flowers.)
Along those lines, how has your relationship with your assistants changed as you’ve risen in seniority or worked in different offices? Have your offices cut a lot of those positions out, or consolidated them — and how do you think it affected your work?
In the past, we’ve discussed how to delegate, how to hire an assistant, and how to use a personal assistant. On the personal side of things, we’ve discussed how much help you have in your life in general, and I shared what happened when I used virtual assistants for personal tasks. (In general boss news, we recently rounded up the best books for women managers based on reader recommendations!)

Ciara Stuns in Denim Romeo Hunte Fall 2026 and Russell Wilson Looks Fly in Prada at the Devil Wears Prada 2 New York Premiere
Ciara and Russell Wilson posed together at The Devil Wears Prada 2 premiere in New York City, coordinating elevated evening looks for the occasion.
Ciara wore a blue denim coat by Romeo Hunte, layered over a white button-down shirt and light denim shorts. The look featured a belted waist and extended train detail, paired with black Christian Louboutin pointed-toe pumps. She accessorized with a choker necklace and completed the look with sleek hair and dark sunglasses in select shots.

The ensemble was modeled on Romeo Hunte’s Fall 2026 runway with pants.

Russell Wilson complemented her in a black Prada jacket and slacks, styled with a white dress shirt, black tie, and black shoes, finishing the look with dark sunglasses.

The couple walked and posed under a lit archway entrance, and definitely had one of the flyest and more talked about looks during the premiere.

Get more from your hair dryer: 3 attachments to start using
Hair diffusers, concentrator nozzles, and other hair dryer attachments take up valuable space in your bathroom cabinet. If you’re not using them now, you might be inclined to get rid of those tools and reclaim your space. Don’t do it.
Attachments expand the capabilities of your hair dryer, which should help you maximize its value. You know that cost-per-wear concept I’m regularly harping on? You can apply a related concept, cost-per-use, to your beauty devices. And learning how to use your hair dryer attachments is one place to start.

What hair dryer attachments do
Hair dryer attachments control where the air goes. Without one, the dryer’s hot air blows all over the place. This can cause inconsistent styling results, even when you’re using the same dryer, brush, and product.
Controlled air flow dries your hair faster and, generally, produces more precise results. It can also minimize heat damage. When the style takes shape quickly, you don’t have to pass over the same sections repeatedly, which is a common cause of hair damage.
The three main attachments are the concentrator nozzle, diffuser, and comb.
1. Concentrator nozzle
Many stylists use the concentrator nozzle by default. It’s flat, narrow shape focuses airflow into a tight stream, which helps with smoothing and straightening. If a salon-style blowout is what you’re after, this attachment gets you there.
How to use
Concentrator nozzles work well on straight, wavy, or frizz-prone hair. To use one:
- Dry about three-quarters of the moisture from your hair using only your fingers and the dryer.
- Clip your hair into sections.
- Work through each section with a brush, pointing the nozzle down along the hair shaft. Aiming down keeps the cuticle flat, so you get that smooth and shiny finish. Hold the dryer no closer than 6 inches from your hair.
- Finish with a cool shot. A cool blast of air at the end seals the style and adds shine.

2. Diffuser
The diffuser is the round attachment with prongs. It spreads airflow across a wider area with reduced air pressure and lower direct heat. This attachment defines natural curls and waves, while minimizing frizz. When you dry curly or wavy hair without a diffuser, the dryer can blast your curls into unruliness.
A diffuser can also add volume to straight hair.
How to use
To use a diffuser:
- Start with clean, detangled hair.
- Apply styling product.
- Set the dryer to a low heat.
- Cup sections of hair into the diffuser and lift it to your scalp.
- Dry each section for 30 seconds or so.
- Avoid handling your hair while it’s drying to minimize frizz.
- Finish with a cool shot for hold and shine.
Read next: The science of heat styling: A practical guide
3. Comb attachment
The comb attachment, sometimes called a pik, is a good choice for thick or textured hair. It smooths roots, reduces tangles, and leaves hair looking neat without a lot of effort. It also works nicely on hair that tends to get knotty when wet.
How to use
To use a comb attachment:
- Divide damp hair into sections.
- Glide the comb from roots to ends using steady, gentle movements.
How to choose the right attachment
The attachment you reach for on any given day will depend on what your hair needs. The concentrator nozzle provides sleekness, the diffuser enhances curls, and the comb tames a thick, textured mane.
Also, the nature of your hair will dictate which attachments should be taking up space in your cabinet. You might have all three because your dryer came with a full set of hair dryer attachments (as some GHD dryers do, for example). But if you have straight, thin hair, you don’t need that comb. You can safely give it away to a friend.
Tips for success with attachments
Protecting your hair from heat damage is a proactive styling tip — because the more damaged your hair is, the more unruly it gets. This can kick off that vicious cycle where you keep applying more heat to control your hair and continued damage makes it more uncontrollable. Follow these strategies for style without over-drying.
- Use a heat protectant.
- Work in sections.
- Avoid repeated heat passes over the same section.
- Use the lowest heat setting possible to get the results you want.

Simple accessory hacks that improve comfort, safety, and wearability
In my younger years, safety was not a consideration in my fashion choices. I endured shoes that challenged my balance and destroyed my feet as well as waistbands that crushed my core. Those pieces may have looked amazing, but they felt awful — and I didn’t mind that trade-off.
Those days are long gone, and my feet and core are better for it. To be clear, I didn’t give up on looking amazing. I just realized that safety and style are not mutually exclusive. No matter what your age, looking great shouldn’t be dangerous or uncomfortable. To prove it, here are my top accessory hacks that add comfort and panache to your wardrobe.

Jewelry
Retire heavy or irritating metals for titanium or resin.
Cosmetic jewelry made of brass, zinc alloy, and stainless steel can drag down your earlobes and feel heavy on your wrists. The weighty feeling gets worse with chunkier designs and large pendants and charms.
Nickel and nickel alloys, also commonly used in jewelry, don’t feel terribly heavy, but they can be irritating. Itchy earlobes or, worse, a rashy ring around your neck are possible outcomes.
You can keep things light and irritation-free with titanium-based jewelry. Titanium is lightweight, hypoallergenic, and more affordable than precious metals.
Resin is another lightweight, budget alternative, especially if you prefer chunkier, bolder designs. It can be colorful and statement making, without the weight of metal and stones.
Resin is also generally well-tolerated, but irritation can result if it’s not cured properly. To avoid that, stick with jewelry brands you know and trust.
Wearable tech
Wear sleek, stylish tech.
Wearable tech has come a long way since my first running watch — which honestly looked like house-arrest monitoring device. Today, you can opt for a sleek Oura ring, Ringly bracelets, and gorge InvisaWear safety accessories that can send emergency alerts to select contacts. If you compare medical alert brands, you’ll see those devices, too, are taking on a less cumbersome feel.
The point is, you no longer have to choose between personal safety and feeling self-conscious about your wearable device. If you do dangerous things alone or have a health condition that can flare and incapacitate you, it’s wise to invest in some protective technology. Dangerous things include walking in the city at night, jogging or hiking a mountain trail, or riding a horse.
Footwear
Lean into loafers and block heels.
Tall, pointy heels and sexy, narrow toe boxes will always hold a special place in my heart, but there are so many other footwear styles to enjoy. And many — including chunky loafers, block heels, and kitten heels — are far easier to wear.
Even better, comfy shoes can look fab in the right context. Consider these proven outfit-and-shoe combos if you’re tired of treating blisters and sore feet:
- Slinky evening dress. Opt for strappy block heels.
- Midi skirt. Try chunky loafers or platform loafers.
- Wide-leg trousers + blouse. Go with low block heels.
- Cocktail dress. Choose kitten heels.
- Maxi dress. Pair with heeled ankle boots.
- Tailored jumpsuit. Reach for block-heel sandals or dressy mules.
- Pencil skirt + fitted top. Add low block pumps or structured loafers.
- Dressy jeans + blazer. Finish with platform loafers or heeled boots.
- Wrap dress. Pair with mid-height wedges or block heels.

Handbags
Give up the heavy tote for a crossbody bag.
The large capacity of a tote is a benefit and a curse. Sure, you can carry everything you need in a big tote, but then:
- Your bag is super-heavy.
- You can’t find your keys quickly.
- You may be a target in crowded places.
A good cross-body bag is lighter and safer, especially if it has a zipper closure. The straps won’t dig into your shoulder and it’s less likely someone can grab your wallet undetected. You can also access your keys and other essentials without looking down or standing on the corner with your bag open.
Eyewear
Prioritize UV protection, fit, and suitability for the task.
Ultra-cheap eyewear can strain your eyes and your face. For example, tinted lenses without UV protection can be worse for your eyes than not wearing sunglasses — they allow your pupils to open wider, but they don’t block the harmful rays. As well, heavy frames can cause headaches by putting pressure on your nose bridge and your ears.
To keep your eyes protected and your head free from unnecessary pressure:
- Require lenses with 100% UV protection or UV400.
- Have glasses fitted professionally, especially if you’re wearing them while active.
- Try lighter weight resin or acetate frames.
- Opt for glare reduction if you wear glasses while driving.
- Consider blue-light filtering if you wear glasses for long periods.

Safe and stylish
It’s time to let go of the ‘no-pain, no-gain’ beauty mantra. Safety, comfort, and style can co-exist. Opt for lighter materials, more wearable silhouettes, and better-fitting accessories as intentional style choices that also make your life easier. Because you deserve to move through your day confidently.

All Things Chic: Alemais – Julia Berolzheimer
When Alemais presented its Resort 2026 collection in Marrakech, it marked the brand’s first international runway show.
The collection draws from the city’s visual language, with references to local craft and artistry developed in collaboration with Moroccan studio LRNCE. You see it come through in the prints, florals, border details, and tie-dye elements, all grounded in a rich, warm palette.

I started building a wish list right away, thinking through how each piece would fit into spring and early summer plans.

From a styling perspective, these are pieces that naturally anchor a look. A printed wrap skirt paired with a simple tank or swim, slip and halter dresses styled with flat sandals during the day and carried into evening, and sets that can be worn together or broken apart depending on the setting. It’s a collection that lands at exactly the right moment, with pieces that feel aligned with how you want to dress now
