Casemiro has admitted it is difficult to offer advice to teammate Kobbie Mainoo amid the growing influence of social media. The Manchester United midfield duo have been key to the club’s revival under interim head coach Michael Carrick.
United have qualified for the Champions League and are on track to finish third under their temporary boss. The Reds have lost just twice since Carrick succeeded Ruben Amorim in January, with both Casemiro and Mainoo regular starters under the former Middlesbrough manager.

And it appears that Real Madrid legend Casemiro has been using his experience to guide Mainoo, 21, in a bid to drive standards. The 34-year-old will leave Old Trafford this summer after four seasons at M16.

The Brazilian has now spoken to former Reds centre-back Rio Ferdinandon his podcast about how he is advising the England international.
When Ferdinand put to him that you can’t be as strong with young players [these days], he said: “I try, I try, but the phone, the social media is very difficult because everyone sees on the phone, nah, you play good.
“You think, ‘ah, you play good. Yeah, it’s top, it’s top.’
“And I try every day about this with Kobbie. He’s an unbelievable player. But he needs to train, train, train. He needs fear – I play, I don’t play.
“I need to push the training because this guy is the present and the future of the club.”

Casemiro was then asked about Mainoo’s previous struggle for game time under ex-Reds boss Amorim. The young star did not start a single Premier League match this season before Amorim’s exit.
He added: “Yes. I talk to him about this, and because I love Kobbie. In this moment, he doesn’t play too much. Maybe it’s the first time he doesn’t play, but it’s not the last.
“You don’t need to drop your head. You need change. How? I don’t know. Work. Work. Work.

“Talk with the manager about what you need. I go with Amorim. I do what I need to, to play. I can’t play in this team because I need this, this, this. Okay. I try, but it’s not the last time.
“He’s very easy. He’s slow. He’s a calm guy. Very calm. But for me this guy is the present in the football club. This guy is an unbelievable player.”
During the early portion of the week, the NFL’s broadcasting partners will each get to announce a game or two that will be featured on their schedule this year and that process started on Monday with NBC revealing that the New York Giants will be hosting the Dallas Cowboys in the first Sunday night game of the season.
The Cowboys actually had two of their games announced on Monday with Fox revealing that Dallas would be hosting the Philadelphia Eagles on Thanksgiving (Week 12).
The Cowboys will also be taking part in the NFL’s first game ever in Rio De Janeiro, which will take place in Week 3 on CBS. That’s one of a record-setting nine international games that will be played in 2026. The NFL will be revealing the full international slate on Wednesday at 9 a.m. ET on “Good Morning Football.”

Of course, it’s completely possible that all nine of those games get leaked out before then, and that’s exactly what happened. We have the full international schedule below.

Punjab Kings enjoyed a dream start to their IPL 2026 campaign, winning six of their first seven matches, with one game ending in no result, to comfortably sit at the top of the points table during the first half of the season. However, their momentum has dramatically slipped in recent weeks, with the side suffering four consecutive defeats in the second half of the tournament. With only three league matches remaining, Punjab now find themselves under pressure, needing at least two wins to secure a place in the playoffs.Their next challenge comes against Mumbai Indians in Dharamshala. Punjab had defeated MI earlier this season at the Wankhede Stadium, and this upcoming clash will mark the second meeting between the two sides in IPL 2026. Mumbai Indians, meanwhile, have already been knocked out of playoff contention.

One of Punjab’s standout performers this season has been Prabhsimran Singh, who has scored 382 runs in 11 matches. However, the young opener has struggled for rhythm in recent games, managing scores of just 15, 3, and 18 against Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Delhi Capitals respectively. His dip in form has affected Punjab’s ability. Ahead of the crucial encounter against Mumbai Indians, the 25-year-old appealed to fans to come out in large numbers and support the team in Dharamshala as Punjab look to revive their playoff hopes.“Sat Sri Akal, Sher Squad! I’m speaking to you from Dharamsala. We’ve certainly lost four matches, but we’re still fourth on the table, and we’ll make sure to qualify and lift the trophy. I can only say that your support is very important to us. Support us and turn Dharamsala red. The next match is against Mumbai; we have to win it and make a comeback from there. We will lift the trophy. Support us; your support is very much needed,” Prabhsimran said in the video. With six wins, four losses, and one no-result from their first 11 matches, Punjab Kings are currently placed fourth on the points table. However, the playoff race remains extremely tight, with Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals closely following them in fifth and sixth positions respectively. Another defeat, especially against Mumbai Indians in their upcoming fixture, could potentially push Punjab in trouble for playoff race.
Vasiliy Lomachenko looks set to make a stunning return to boxing.
Lomachenko had a spectacular amateur career, finishing with a record of 396-1 whilst becoming a two-time Olympic gold medallist, and he then entered the professional ranks and challenged for world honours in just his second bout.
While he may have come up short in that clash, he made up for it in his third outing when he won the WBO featherweight title, before he also went on to become WBO super-featherweight champion and unified lightweight world champion.

The Ukrainian was commended for fighting above his natural weight and claiming wins over fighters such as Jorge Linares and Jose Pedraza, but he was beaten twice at 135lbs, first a loss to Teofimo Lopez in October 2020 before a controversial defeat to Devin Haney in May 2023.
Lomachenko did bounce back with a stoppage win over George Kambosos in May 2024 to become IBF lightweight champion, and it seemed that would be the final time he entered the ring as he officially announced his retirement in June 2025 after months of speculation.
That could all be about to change though, after it was reported by Mike Coppinger that he is set to end that retirement and return this year for ‘big fights only’.
“Vasiliy Lomachenko is coming out of retirement and is targeting a return in fall of this year, sources tell Ring Magazine. Lomachenko’s contract with Top Rank expires today and he’s now a promotional free agent. He only wants the big fights, I’m told, no tuneups.”
With the back injury now seemingly a thing of the past, it could pave the way for a clash with Davis once again, while there are also a number of other intriguing options – including Shakur Stevenson, who has always called for the fight – for the former pound-for-pound superstar.
Just days after NJ Transit reduced 2026 FIFA World Cup train ticket prices after backlash, New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill announced yet another cut.
Last week, the round-trip tickets from New York Penn Station to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey were cut from the initial cost of $150 to $105.
Now, Sherrill announced the tickets have gone down to $98 round-trip ahead of them going on sale Tuesday night.

“Good news: Ahead of NJ TRANSIT World Cup train tickets going on sale tonight, @NJTRANSIT is lowering ticket prices to $98 without New Jersey taxpayer money,” Sherrill wrote on X.
“Thank you to our partners — DoorDash, Audible, FanDuel, DraftKings, PSE&G, South Jersey Industries, and American Water — for helping make this possible.
“We’re excited to host a world-class event this summer and showcase New Jersey on a global stage.”
NJ Transit and the FIFA New York New Jersey Host Committee caught flak after the originally announced $150 price of the round-trip tickets. Their argument was it would eventually cost taxpayers if they didn’t have that abnormal price set for the influx of those getting to MetLife Stadium from New York City.
Then, NJ Transit announced last week it received monetary support from “sponsors and other sources” in able to get prices lowered. Now we know those sponsors after Sherrill’s statement on social media.
Sherrill and FIFA got into a spat after the $150 price came out as well. The governor said FIFA should help pay for train tickets, while the governing body criticized Sherrill’s “unprecedented” plan and added that the expensive train tickets would have a “chilling effect” on the fan experience.

“Governor Sherrill has been clear that FIFA should contribute to transport its fans to World Cup games. Since it hasn’t, she directed NJ Transit to seek private and non-taxpayer dollars to significantly reduce the fare,” a spokesperson for Sherrill told The Athletic. “The Governor appreciates all the companies that have already stepped up to lower the costs for ticket holders. She will continue to ensure the World Cup is an experience that benefits fans and all New Jerseyans.”
NJ Transit CEO Kris Kolluri defended the original price, saying the ultimate cost to the public transportation company shouldn’t burden New Jersey commuters.
“It is an exciting moment for New Jersey to showcase New Jersey’s diversity as well as its economic standing in the country and in the world. Equally important, (Sherrill) has said that New Jersey commuters cannot and will not subsidize the movement of fans going to the game, because that would not be fair,” Kolluri said, reiterating that the tournament will cost NJ Transit $48 million.
“In order to move 40,000 people and to pay for the cost of $6 million (per game), we have to charge $150.”

Meanwhile, parking has been prohibited at MetLife Stadium, and ride-sharing will be limited, ultimately leading to a natural increase in NJ Transit commutes for World Cup matches.
The first game at MetLife Stadium is June 13 with a group stage match between Brazil and Morocco.

Zach Benson scored the winner and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen stopped 28 shots as the Sabres held off the Canadiens 3-2 in an intense Game 4 of long reviews, weird bounces and numerous penalties, tying the second-round playoff matchup at two games apiece.
Mattias Samuelsson and Tage Thompson — on a fortuitous deflection — also scored for Buffalo, as the Sabres responded after dropping Games 2 and 3 by a combined score of 11-3. Josh Doan added two assists, while Thompson had one helper for a two-point night.
Luukkonen stood tall in his first appearance since a Game 2 loss in the opening round against Boston. He replaced Alex Lyon after the back-to-back lopsided defeats.
Alex Newhook and Cole Caufield replied for Montreal, which went 1-for-7 on the power play. Jakub Dobes made 19 saves.

The series shifts back to Buffalo for Game 5 on Thursday night before returning to the Bell Centre for Game 6 on Saturday.
Benson put the Sabres ahead 3-2 with a power-play goal 4:41 into the third when he shovelled a backhand past Dobes’s glove from the edge of the blue paint while Jake Evans sat in the penalty box for holding.
The Canadiens had failed to capitalize on a four-minute man advantage late in the second into the third period, with Luukkonen denying Ivan Demidov and Nick Suzuki missing the net on a Grade A chance.
Later in the third, Dobes slid across his crease to rob Konsta Helenius on a 2-on-1, dropping his stick to make the save and breathe life into the Bell Centre.

Dobes denied Helenius again with under three minutes left, this time stopping him with the blocker to keep it a one-goal game.
The Canadiens goalie then left his net for an extra attacker with two minutes remaining but Montreal couldn’t muster a quality chance before time ran out.
The renowned Bell Centre atmosphere, earning praise on social media across Canada and south of the border this week, was jacked up following Sunday’s win and hit another deafening peak before puck drop after the energy rattled the Sabres in Game 3.
This time, Guy Carbonneau — the captain the last time the Canadiens won the Cup in 1993 — carried the ceremonial torch into the lower bowl. Cheers then hit ear-splitting decibels when Dobes was announced in the starting lineup before the crackling crowd sang “O Canada” in full voice.

But the visitors opened the scoring 6:32 into the first period when Samuelsson finished a pretty passing play with Josh Norris and Doan on the rush, with the Sabres dominating the shots 8-1 early.
A strange sequence followed less than two minutes later as Jack Quinn’s scoring chance, which Dobes initially appeared to stop, was ruled a goal and then taken away on a pair of reviews.
Quinn sent a shot into Dobes’s glove off a rebound, leading to a whistle. The officials reviewed the play late in the ensuing TV break, ruling Dobes’s glove crossed the line with the puck.
Canadiens coach Martin St. Louis, however, successfully challenged for goalie interference because Helenius made contact with Dobes before Quinn’s attempt, sending the crowd into a frenzy after the 10-minute delay.

The turn of events completely swung the momentum as red-hot Newhook tied the game at 10:08, converting a pass from Jake Evans for his fifth goal in three games.
Caufield then gave the Canadiens a 2-1 lead with 13 seconds left in the opening period, slipping a cheeky shot between Luukkonen’s legs on the power play after Thompson took a needless cross-checking penalty.
Luukkonen responded early in the second with two stellar saves on Caufield during another Canadiens power play, denying him from the slot before stretching out the pad on a one-timer.
Thompson then scored on a fluky dump-in from centre ice to tie the game on the power play seven minutes into the middle frame. Instead of rolling along the boards behind the net, the puck bounced off an edge in the corner and redirected off Dobes’s pad and in.

Andrey Rublev battled back from a set and a break down to defeat Nikoloz Basilashvili 3-6, 7-6(5), 6-2 and reach the quarterfinals of the Italian Open.
It is Rublev’s first Rome quarterfinal since 2021 and his first Masters 1000 quarterfinal appearance since Cincinnati last year.
When asked about facing Sinner, Rublev could not help but laugh.

“How many Masters in a row has he won already?” he asked.
After being told five, Rublev joked: “How many, 20 something matches in a row? He’s getting closer to losing. The more he wins the more he gets closer.”
Asked if he was excited for the challenge, Rublev gave another honest response.

“Uhhh I’m fine,” he said laughing. “If you ask me if I prefer to play someone else, of course I prefer to play someone else. But if I would like to challenge myself against Jannik, yes as well.”
Rublev’s comeback win showed plenty of fight after a difficult start, and now he faces one of the toughest tests in tennis against a Sinner who continues to dominate the ATP Tour.

Five-time champions Chennai Super Kings have reportedly signed Karnataka all-rounder Macneil Hadley Noronha as a replacement for the injured Ramakrishna Ghosh for the remainder of IPL 2026. Ramakrishna Ghosh will miss the rest of the season due to a fracture in his right foot. This injury occurred during their home match against the Mumbai Indians on May 2, which was also his IPL debut. According to a Cricbuzz report, “CSK have written to the BCCI and await approval to finalise the signing, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed.”
“The 24-year-old Noronha enjoyed a fine season for the Mangaluru Dragons in their title-winning 2025 campaign in the Maharaja Trophy. A powerful striker, he hit 253 runs from 13 games at a strike rate of 148.82. This also included a season tally of 19 sixes. Noronha also bowled off-spin in the competition, taking 10 wickets at an economy of 7.44. This included a best of 2 for 25, which he achieved in the final against Hubli Tigers. He was called up to the Karnataka squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and featured in three games.”
In the only match he played, Ghosh made a strong impression with a sharp diving catch to dismiss Will Jacks. However, he seemed to struggle physically after tumbling in his follow-through while bowling to Naman Dhir, which might have led to his injury.

“Ramakrishna Ghosh sustained a fracture to his right foot during the CSK v MI match at Chepauk. He will take no further part in IPL 2026. Get well soon, Rambo,” CSK said in a statement.
Head coach Stephen Fleming mentioned the setback during the post-match press conference. He expressed both disappointment and admiration for the young player’s quick development.
“His improvement in recent weeks has been noticeable. He has been training really well at our academy sessions. We use two grounds, and he’s been very impressive. It’s disappointing that he got injured toward the end. The other point is that he can bat, and bat well, which is an area of big improvement. So he can genuinely be called an all-rounder,” Fleming said.
Ghosh’s absence adds to a highly disrupted season for the five-time champions. The franchise has already dealt with multiple injuries, including the loss of key Indian bowler Khaleel Ahmed and promising batter Ayush Mhatre in recent weeks.

Their pace options were already limited before the season began, with Nathan Ellis out injured, and his replacement Spencer Johnson was unavailable until recently due to injury. To make matters worse, CSK has been without star player MS Dhoni, who has been dealing with a calf strain since the start of the season.
As injuries continue to mount, CSK’s squad depth will be further challenged as they try to navigate a tough IPL 2026 season without yet another key player.
