3 Underrated Netflix Shows With Great RT Scores, Ranked (May 2026)
When you think “Netflix,” you probably think of the platform’s top shows like Beef and Bojack Horseman, but there aren’t just mainstream hits on the streamer.
If you want something more under-the-radar, you’ll find what you’re looking for.
This May, Watch With Us has picked three underrated series on the platform that nevertheless have great Rotten Tomatoes scores.
Our first pick is The Get Down, the music drama from Baz Luhrmann that was cut criminally short.
Read on for all three of our picks.
‘The Get Down’ (2016)
Rotten Tomatoes score: 81 percent
Set in New York City in the late ’70s, The Get Down centers on a group of young people in the South Bronx and fictionalizes the story of the rise of hip-hop. At a time when the city was on the financial brink and with disco fever on its way out, hip-hop began its rise to the mainstream, and orphaned teenager Zeke Figuero (Justice Smith) sets out on his dream to be a successful musician. Director Baz Luhrmann (Elvis, Romeo + Juliet) teams up with top-notch collaborators like MC Nas, Grandmaster Flash and playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis in this compelling, music-infused drama.
The Get Down is a bold and stylish series that was unfairly axed by Netflix after only one season, but its sole season is a true work of art. Smith leads the show confidently alongside an ensemble of terrific actors such as Jaden Smith, Shameik Moore, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Jimmy Smits. With Luhrmann’s signature maximalist touch, the show leans hard into spectacle, with impressive visuals, sweeping emotions and a killer soundtrack.
‘Brand New Cherry Flavor’ (2021)
Rotten Tomatoes score: 76 percent
In 1990s Hollywood, aspiring filmmaker Lisa Nova (Rosa Salazar) arrives in the movie capital of the world to meet a high-powered producer (Eric Lange) who was impressed by her short horror feature. After signing a contract that guarantees Lisa the autonomy to direct a feature film, she is dropped from the project when she rejects the producer’s unwanted sexual advances. To get revenge on him (and get her movie back on track), Lisa makes a deal with a witch named Jennifer (Catherine Keener) — but every wish that seems too good to be true always is, and Lisa is pulled into a surreal nightmare.
This series from Channel Zero creator Nick Antosca is strange, unusual and totally goes for broke. Brand New Cherry Flavor is confidently led by Salazar in a show that isn’t afraid to go to some dark (and disgusting) places, diving headfirst into the uncanny by blending horror with drama and a satire of the film industry. Lange and Keener round out a terrific cast that also features Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), Patrick Fischler (Mulholland Drive) and Gabriel LaBelle (The Fabelmans). The show is not for everyone, but deranged in all the best ways — just be willing to get on its wavelength.
‘Netflix Presents: ‘The Characters’ (2016)
Rotten Tomatoes score: 100 percent
Netflix Presents: The Characters is a playground for some of the best and most offbeat voices in modern comedy, including Kate Berlant, John Early, Tim Robinson and Paul W. Downs. Fans of Robinson’s series I Think You Should Leave and Detroiters will certainly find a lot to love here, but what makes the show so great is that each episode is in the control of one particular comedic voice, with every sketch tailored to their sensibilities. As a result, you get something totally different each time, and the series features multiple different kinds of comedy: from cringe realism to full-on absurdist scenarios.
Though not every sketch in The Characters lands, when they land, they really land, such as Natasha Rothwell‘s “Chiggers,” Early’s “The Toast” and Robinson’s “Sammy Paradise,” all three of which made it onto Vulture’s 2019 list of “Best Comedy Sketches of the Decade.” The show stands as a terrific showcase of some of the best comedic voices of the past ten years, who were at that point still fairly early in their careers. Still, The Characters is far too overlooked, and if you consider yourself a comedy fan, then you’d do well to check it out.

Nicolas Cage Names Directors Who Ghosted Him
Nicolas Cage, who has one of the most diverse filmographies in Hollywood, shared which big-name directors stopped calling him after he rejected roles that were offered to him. While discussing his upcoming movie, “Madden,” the actor commended director David O. Russell for having class, despite having turned him down once before.
Cage is known to have passed on some big roles, instead choosing to work on projects he’s passionate about. The actor admitted to cultivating a mysterious mythology about his persona in the past, but now lives an “extraordinarily boring” life.

In an interview with The New York Times, Nicolas Cage discussed his upcoming projects, past roles, and his Hollywood persona. At one point, he was asked about portraying football coach John Madden in the upcoming biographical movie “Madden,” directed by David O. Russell.
The actor explained that he didn’t know much about the legendary NFL coach, but said Russell approached him for the role. Cage mentioned that years before, the director offered him a movie, but he turned it down. “He’s the only director that I ever said no to who actually came back and offered me another movie,” the actor said.
He candidly shared that some directors “get their feelings hurt” and don’t call back, adding that it’s happened to him “a million times.”
The Actor Specified Which Directors Won’t Call Him

Cage mentioned some names, saying, “It’s happened with Christopher Nolan, it’s happened with Woody Allen, it’s happened with Paul Thomas Anderson. They don’t call me back.”
Cage said Nolan offered him a role in the 2002 psychological thriller “Insomnia,” which focused on two homicide detectives investigating a case in Alaska. It featured big-name stars, including Al Pacino, Robin Williams, and Hilary Swank.
The actor didn’t mention which films he declined from Anderson and Allen, but said they were “early movies.”
Nicolas Cage Said David O. Russell Showed Class

Cage didn’t go into much detail about the roles he rejected from the directors he mentioned. Instead, he praised Russell for approaching him for “Madden” despite turning him down years before.
“David did call me, and it showed a lot of class that he would call me back and invite me again, and I didn’t want to say no to him again because I have great respect for his talent,” Cage explained. Russell is a critically-acclaimed director, having worked on films such as “The Fighter,” “American Hustle,” and “Silver Linings Playbook.”
Cage shared that filming “Madden” was a “beautiful experience” that he enjoyed with his co-stars, including Christian Bale and John Mulaney, adding that it was challenging for him and he had to get out of his comfort zone to portray the NFL coach.
Notable Roles The Actor Rejected

Cage has turned down many major movie roles, some more notable than others. According to reports, the actor was tapped to play Aragorn in “The Lord of the Rings” movies, but he refused, citing that he didn’t want to spend so much time away from his family. The fantasy trilogy was shot simultaneously in New Zealand, and it took about nine months to complete.
The actor also rejected the role of Neo in “The Matrix,” again prioritizing family time. “The Matrix” was shot in Australia, and it meant being away from his family for months.
Another big role Cage turned down was Shrek. Comedian Chris Farley was originally cast to voice the character. However, he passed away before the project was completed, prompting DreamWorks to find a replacement. Cage rejected the role, saying he didn’t want children to associate him with the green ogre. In 2013, however, he said, “Maybe I should have done it.”
Nicolas Cage Lives A ‘Boring’ Life Now

Elsewhere in the interview, Cage admitted that he was impulsive in the past, purchasing homes and properties on a whim and always looking for interesting roles. Now, however, he said he lives an “extraordinarily boring” and “monastic” life and is more averse to taking risks.
His days are spent raising his youngest child, August Francesca, whom he and his wife, Riko Shibata, welcomed in 2022. The actor said that his vices are now caffeine, energy drinks, and doom-scrolling on the internet, adding that apart from those, he isn’t doing any “unexpected things” for now.

Yellowstone’s Marshals Ends With Possible Cast Exit, Deaths
Yellowstone‘s Marshals spinoff left several cliffhangers — including hints at a cast exit and possible main character deaths.
During the Sunday, May 24, episode of the hit CBS series, Andrea (Ash Santos) was offered an opportunity that created distance between her and the rest of the U.S. Marshals. The final scene of the show, meanwhile, showed Belle (Arielle Kebbel) and Cal (Logan Marshall-Green) getting ambushed — with Tom Weaver (Chris Mulkey) planning the possibly deadly situation.
Kayce (Luke Grimes), however, didn’t know that Dolly’s Weaver (Ellyn Jameson) dad was scheming against him. Even worse, Tom was with Tate (Brecken Merrill) as the episode came to an end while Kayce remained in the dark of how much chaos was taking place.
Paramount Network’s Yellowstone, which aired from 2018 to 2024, introduced Us to Kayce and his wife, Monica (Kelsey Asbille), who remained at the center of the show until the finale.
After teaching at a local school on the Broken Rock Indian Reservation, Monica went on to become a professor at Montana State University while navigating life with Kayce, who moved them back to the Yellowstone Ranch following his past tension with dad John (Kevin Costner).
Following John’s death, Kayce, a former U.S. Navy SEAL, became the new owner and operator of the Yellowstone Ranch. Kayce and Monica ended the show alive — and were still together — before Marshals began.

When the series premiered in March, however, fans learned Monica had died after battling cancer.
“Kayce had such a perfect ending in Yellowstone,” showrunner Spencer Hudnut told TVLine at the time. “His dreams had finally come true. As we were trying to figure out how to tell the next chapter in Kayce’s story, it felt like he really needed to be shaken out of that. Unfortunately, tragedy tends to find Kayce, so something bad was going to happen for him one way or the other. It just sort of played out that it was going to be Monica.”
Hudnut said Monica’s death will continue to drive Kayce, adding, “To me, Monica is really guiding Kayce through this first episode, trying to help him find his new path. And if you actually break it down, Tate is at that rally to honor his mother, and Kayce goes there to protect Tate. So if not for Monica, Kayce never would have been in that position and may not have found this path.”
He concluded: “We really wanted to be respectful of the way that we said goodbye to her. I also didn’t want to step on the ending of Yellowstone, because what they had was a beautiful ending. Unfortunately, real life intervened.”
Asbille, 34, has not yet broken her silence on Monica’s onscreen death. She did grant access for her likeness to be used on the show, which allowed Marshals to show photos of the fictional character on screen.

Tiffany Wisconsin Is Searching for Love With A Man or Woman
OnlyFans star Tiffany Wisconsin is open to true love following her divorce.
In a press release issued by the influencer’s team and obtained by Us Weekly on Friday, May 22, Wisconsin, 36, said that despite not being desperate for a new connection, she’s certainly ready for one. “I’ve only been in one serious relationship, and after that ended, I needed time to protect my heart and my peace,” Wisconsin stated. “I’m open to love again, whether that’s with a man or a woman.”
The news comes after the social media star, who launched her OnlyFans account in 2020 as a married stay-at-home mom, revealed last year that she had divorced her husband after 12 years of marriage. The press release noted that the relationship lasted 17 years in total, but Wisconsin “has spent the past five years single by choice, focused on protecting her peace, rebuilding her life and learning what she actually wants from love.”
To aid her search for a romantic match, she’s set to launch a new “series of marketing videos” that will chart her journey through “dating, independence and real connection.”
Although she is yet to discover whether her perfect partner is male or female, Wisconsin, who resides in the state, said she was determined to maintain boundaries as she dives into a new relationship. “My biggest thing is making sure I still have time for myself because I really enjoy being alone, and I don’t want to lose that just to say I’m with someone,” she stated in the press release.
In June 2025, Wisconsin blamed her divorce on the self-release of a video that depicted her sleeping with 20 men on the night she got married. “The reason for the divorce was my husband finding the video I did with 20 guys on our wedding night,” she wrote via Instagram on June 4 last year.
The video was also shared by Wisconsin at the time, captioned with the words, “Hardest thing I’ve ever been through,” and capturing Wisconsin in her wedding dress before she was seen crying in her car. The video also showed a group of men ascending a staircase, shown only from the waist down.
In a January interview with Complex, the OnlyFans model detailed how she’s made a lucrative business out of her social media posts, claiming that she currently earns more than $100,000 per month through “consistent selling.”
She told the outlet that “rage bait seems to work the best for me,” referring to posts designed to evoke emotional responses from viewers.
Wisconsin later added during the interview, “It just comes so easy to me now, because people know I’m the girl that films with older men.”

5 War Movie Masterpieces You Should Watch This Memorial Day Weekend
War movies have been around for almost as long as Hollywood has been making films. And each generation of filmmakers has been adding their own sensibilities to the genre.
There are now so many war movies that even some of the best in the genre have gotten lost in the shuffle.
That’s why Watch With Us has put together our roundup of the five forgotten war movie masterpieces you should stream this Memorial Day weekend.
Out of our five picks, only two are World War II movies. The rest were born out of other real-life conflicts.
5. ‘Gettysburg’ (1993)
Gettysburg was almost released as a TNT original miniseries, at least until Ted Turner realized that it had even bigger potential as a film. That’s why this movie has a runtime of over four hours. But Turner ultimately made the right call, and Gettysburg is one of the definitive Civil War movies.
The perspective largely takes place from the Confederate side, as General Robert E. Lee (Martin Sheen), Lieutenant General James Longstreet (Tom Berenger) and Major General George Pickett (Stephen Lang) prepare to face the Union army led by Colonel Joshua Chamberlain (Jeff Daniels) and Brigadier General John Buford (Sam Elliott). Their collision at the Battle of Gettysburg proves to be one of the bloodiest engagements of the entire war.
Gettysburg is available for rent or purchase on Prime Video.
4. ‘Casualties of War’ (1989)
Michael J. Fox delivered a powerhouse performance in Casualties of War, which is based on a real incident that took place during the Vietnam War. Following several setbacks in the field of battle, Private First Class Max Eriksson (Fox) is alarmed when his superior officer, Sergeant Tony Meserve (Sean Penn), orders the kidnapping of a local girl, Tran Thi Oanh (Thuy Thu Le), with the intent to sexually assault her.
Eriksson stands alone in opposition to the plan and his pleas to his fellow soldiers fall on deaf ears. Even Eriksson’s superiors don’t seem to be interested in correcting this injustice. But if they won’t act, then Eriksson will take matters into his own hands.

3. ‘Stalag 17’ (1953)

Peter Graves, Harvey Lembeck, Robert Strauss, Neville Brand in William Holden in Stalag 17. Everett
William Holden won a well-deserved Best Actor Oscar for his performance as Sergeant J.J. Sefton in the World War II POW drama Stalag 17. During the war, Sefton is a prisoner among hundreds of other U.S. airmen when an escape attempt is thwarted by their German guards. After the men involved are executed, Sefton finds himself accused of collaborating with the Germans and ratting out his fellow countrymen.
There are good reasons to suspect Sefton, since he’s figured out how to make life easy for himself inside the prison camp by bribing guards and running illicit activities. A newly arrived officer, Lieutenant James Dunbar (Don Taylor), is also extremely hostile towards Sefton, who is running out of friends fast. If Sefton can’t identify the real traitor in their ranks, he just might be murdered by his own side.
Stalag 17 is streaming on Tubi.
2. ‘Three Kings’ (1999)

Three Kings takes place in the aftermath of the first Gulf War, with George Clooney in the lead as Major Archie Gates. Archie and his pals, Sergeant First Class Troy Barlow (Mark Wahlberg), Staff Sergeant Chief Elgin (Ice Cube) and Private First Class Conrad Vig (Spike Jonze) are bored out of their minds until they discover a map that may lead to millions of gold bars stolen from Kuwait by Iraqi forces.
The men recognize that this is their best chance to get rich from their time in the Gulf, and they go AWOL to retrieve the fortune for themselves. They soon find themselves in the middle of a conflict between Iraqi rebels and the soldiers loyal to the regime. Archie and his guys can either escape with their gold or their souls, but not both. They need to choose what’s really important to them, and how far they’re willing to go for it.
Three Kings is streaming on Philo.
1. ‘The Great Escape’ (1963)
In World War II, there really was a mass escape attempt from a German POW camp that inspired The Great Escape. However, the film used mostly American characters, while the real escapees were almost all British soldiers. Regardless, The Great Escape is one of the most entertaining war flicks ever made.
The cast list for this film reads like an A-list roundup of actors from the ’60s, including Steve McQueen, James Garner, Charles Bronson, Richard Attenborough, James Donald, Donald Pleasence and James Coburn. With so many great performers to keep an eye on, it’s almost impossible to predict which ones will actually see their escape through to its completion.

Caleb Shomo’s Wife Breaks Silence After Singer Says He’s Gay
Beartooth lead singer Caleb Shomo’s wife, Fleur Shomo, is breaking her silence after the rocker came out as a “proudly gay man.”
“Not really sure how to start this cause does anything even need to be said? But I guess I’ll just dive right in,” Fleur wrote via Instagram on Saturday, May 23. “The past few months have been a very disorientating and hurtful time to navigate. For both of us. But I will always want to love, protect and support Caleb. I have cared more about his well being over the years than anything else in the world.”
She continued, “To see the confusion and pain he went through and the highs and lows and wanting to help but not knowing how. You never want anything more for your person than for them to just be ok. You also ask yourself constantly if you’re a bad person for wondering wtf this means for your world & the anger you also feel. I am the only person that is having to deal with the duality of this situation. To support him whilst losing everything has been incredibly hard to figure out. You can love and support your person through the hardest time in their life, whilst also be completely demolished & lose yourself at the same time.”
On Saturday, Caleb — who has been the lead singer of the alternative metalcore band since 2012 after leaving the crabcore band Attack Attack! — came out as gay on Saturday after fans speculated about his sexuality online.
“There has been a lot of speculation surrounding my personal life as of late and I feel compelled to set the record straight before it affects those I love any further. I am a proudly gay man,” he wrote via Instagram. “This is something I’ve been unpacking and reckoning with in my life for quite some time now. It’s been difficult to navigate the feelings surrounding the subject and figure out what to do with this fact.”
The singer added, “When it comes to my art/Beartsooth, I have always strived to chase who I am in the deepest part of my soul from album to album. As you could gather if you’ve followed the band at all in the earlier years, there are 4 very self deprecating albums about exploring my religious upbringing, depression, self hatred, and hopelessness. I am grateful for all these albums, yet feel embarrassed at times that I wouldn’t allow myself to really dig up the roots for so long.”
The post was the first from Caleb after he deleted his Instagram account in March following the release of the band’s new single “Free” from their upcoming album Pure Ecstasy. Along with the single, the singer debuted a new look that prompted Atilla frontman Chris Fronzak to make a homophobic remark. (Fronzak later apologized.)
In her public statement following her husband’s announcement, Fleur touched on the 14 years of marriage she shared with the singer while urging fans to continue to support her husband. Her remarks were also accompanied by a video of the pair dancing in a living room in front of a television.
“Our nearly 14yrs of marriage was wonderful and full of so much fun, adventure & love. Nobody will know anything about our marriage like we do. And no one can ever truly know what depths of love exist between two people unless they are those people,” she continued. “I already miss it & my husband more than anything. Our story was a good one. And now it’s done.”
She added, “I hope anyone in the world going through this finds hope & courage & I hope the fans can continue to support Caleb. For now I’m going to keep focusing on what I can control & continue living my life trying to achieve what I want to achieve. And if I keep saying hi to as many dogs as possible along the way, then I’m sure things will slowly get better, day by day, piece by small piece, bird by bird.”

Ariana Madix Helps Ciara Miller Ditch Her ‘Baggage’ in Ad
Ariana Madix is showing Ciara Miller the way after navigating her own public scandal.
In an Instagram video released on Sunday, May 24, Madix, 40, walks in on Miller, 30, counting each piece of luggage she has in a large pile.
“You don’t need all that,” Madix says, as she starts to toss aside the baggage. “No, no, no, no, no.”
As Miller protests about ditching her hats, she asks, “Are you sure?” to which Madix replies, “Trust me. I’ve been there before.”
“Dumped your baggage?” Miller asks. “Sip to that with Frozen Sonic Refreshers.”
The duo captioned their joint Instagram post, “@sonicdrivein New Frozen Refreshers > unnecessary baggage. Every time. #SipToThat #SONICPartner.”
One month prior, Madix and Miller teamed up for a previous Sonic ad where the Vanderpump Rules alum asked the Summer House star if anything “new” was happening in her life.
“No, honestly, life has been pretty chill,” Miller said, as Madix teased, “That’s actually so refreshing to hear because I feel, like, I kind of thought that, you know, things were like …”
Miller explained that she had been “off social media” and drinking her new frozen refreshers, to which Madix replied, “I love that energy … let’s sip to that.”
The ad was released one month after Miller’s ex West Wilson confirmed his romance with her ex BFF Amanda Batula (who had recently separated from husband Kyle Cooke after four years of marriage). The scandal drew comparisons to when it was revealed that Madix’s ex Tom Sandoval was having an affair with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss in 2023.
The Summer House cast is set to address the drama at the upcoming season 10 reunion, with the first of three parts airing on Tuesday, May 26. Ahead of the reunion, Miller gave insight into her mindset.
“Make it to the waiting and make it to the end of all of this. I’m excited to put it all behind me,” Miller told People on the amFAR red carpet on Saturday, May 23. “The reunion was quite the day, but we are on to bigger and better and, you know, we can say goodbye to certain things.”
She continued, “I think it will definitely get some clarity. I think it was very cathartic. It’s one of those situations that’s unfortunate but, you know, I’m so excited to move on from this. You can’t take everyone with you. It’s nice to be able to go into this next chapter of my life and have clarity on who is supposed to be there and who is not.”
As for whether she and Batula, 34, are “dunzo,” Miller replied, “Yeah, for sure. Yeah. I wouldn’t do this to my worst enemy.”
The Summer House season 10 three-part reunion kicks off on Bravo Tuesday, May 26, at 8 p.m. ET.

Margot Robbie Armpit Scene Got Cut From ‘Wuthering Heights’
“Wuthering Heights” director, Emerald Fennell, made a surprising confession about a certain Margot Robbie scene that was cut from the film.
The scene in question featured the actress’s armpits and was meant to portray a historically accurate element of the period it was set in.
While “Wuthering Heights” was hit with negative reviews upon its release, the Margot Robbie-led movie was a commercial success, grossing over $242 million.

Fennell, during her appearance at the Hay Festival, admitted that it was “unfortunate” that a scene showing Robbie’s “extremely” hairy armpit was cut from the scene.
The director noted that she tried to take a stand on the matter of body hair after growing tired of seeing women in costume dramas with clean-shaven bodies.
Being the professional that she is, Robbie is said to have grown out her hair for this purpose, deciding to stop shaving for her role as Catherine “Cathy” Earnshaw. However, audiences did not get to see the result of her commitment to the part.
“Cathy does have extremely hairy armpits in this version. Unfortunately, the scene where we see them didn’t make it in,” Fennell shared at the festival in Wales on Friday, per The Telegraph.
She continued, “But it was so important to me, because where are the razors these women were using whenever I watch Jane Austen? They’re all hairless, like eels. What’s going on?”
Fennell’s desire for a historical depiction of body hair on women is likely rooted in the fact that certain grooming practices were not a thing during England’s Regency era.
The 2026 ‘Wuthering Heights’ Film Had Surprisingly Modern Elements

Despite her desire for historical accuracy when it came to body hair, Fennell didn’t seem to mind taking a more modern route when for certain aspects of the movie.
Robbie’s character, Cathy, notably donned clothes made from cellophane and plastic, like her see-through wedding gown, which contrasts with traditional 19-century wardrobe.
Then there was the inclusion of raunchy scenes in the movie, which weren’t in the original book. These scenes have been heavily debated on by fans and critics, with some branding them as “exhuasting.” Also, the movie’s soundtrack was recorded by pop star, Charli XCX.
Regarding these choices, Fennell noted, “I don’t mind having Charli xcx because I understand emotionally why she’s there and I understand what she’s saying. There’s that really wonderful suspension of disbelief between you and somebody watching.”
The Margot Robbie-Led Movie Was Shredded By Critics, But Became A Box Office Hit

Following its release, “Wuthering Heights” was met with harsh reviews, with many taking aim at Fennell and the movie’s stars, Robbie and Elordi.
The Times‘ Kevin Maher called out Robbie’s role as Cathy, labeling the actress “Brontë Barbie,” seemingly referencing her performance in the 2023 movie, “Barbie.”
Meanwhile, the Independent‘s Clarisse Loughrey, slammed Robbie and Elordi’s performances, claiming that it was “almost pushed to the border of pantomime.”
As for the sex scenes between the co-stars, Collider labeled them “exhausting,” adding that they sometimes “overstay their welcome.”
Fennell certainly faced the bulk of the backlash, with The Guardian‘s: Peter Bradshaw branding her take on Emily Brontë’s book as “an emotionally hollow, bodice-ripping misfire that misuses Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi.”
“For Fennell, it looks like a luxurious pose of unserious abandon. It’s quasi-erotic, pseudo-romantic, and then ersatz-sad, a club night of mock emotion,” Bradshaw added in his scathing review.
The Movie Was A Commercial Success

Despite the negative reviews, “Wuthering Heights” still did well commercially, grossing $242 million worldwide on an $8O million budget.
It now sits as one of the highest grossing films of 2026 so far. The film is also doing well on streaming, debuting on HBO Max at number one worldwide, and topping the streaming charts in over 32 countries just under 24 hours.
Meanwhile, some critics had a more positive stance on the 2026 “Wuthering Heights” adaptation, with the BBC‘s Caryn James praising Fennell’s directing especially.
James wrote in her review: “Fennell’s approach is an extravagant swirl: sexy, dramatic, melodramatic, occasionally comic and often swoonily romantic.”
The Telegraph‘s Robbie Collin also praised the film, calling it “resplendently lurid, oozy and wild” in a five star review.
Margot Robbie Was Excited About The Movie’s Raunchier Spin On The Book

Prior to the film’s release, Robbie seemed excited about fans watching the movie, saying in interviews that they should prepare for more steamy scenes unlike what was written in the book.
“They never really kissed in the book, but we kiss a lot. We kiss everywhere,” the actress admitted, per the Daily Mail. “And there’s so many times where he just picks me up and puts me in a tree, or picks me up with one hand.”
She then talked about how much she enjoyed being lifted by Elordi in certain scenes, noting that it was “really nice, it makes you feel, ‘Oh I’m light as a feather, I’m a tiny little thing.’”
Robbie also shared that she enjoyed Cathy due how emotionally intense the role was. “I loved playing a character who kind of swings from one wild emotion to the other in an instant,” she said.

Donald Trump Uses White House Shooting to Justify Ballroom
President Donald Trump is using the recent, deadly shooting outside the White House to justify the construction of the former reality TV star’s controversial ballroom.
“Thank you to our great Secret Service and Law Enforcement for the swift and professional action taken this evening against a gunman near the White House, who had a violent history and possible obsession with our Country’s most cherished structure,” the commander-in-chief, 79, wrote via his social media platform, Truth Social, on Saturday, May 23.
“The gunman is dead after an exchange of gunfire with Secret Service Agents near the White House gates,” Trump continued. “This event is one month removed from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting, and goes to show how important it is, for all future Presidents, to get, what will be, the most safe and secure space of its kind ever built in Washington, D.C. The national Security of our Country demands it!”
On Saturday, a Secret Service agent confirmed to Us Weekly that a shooter was shot and killed and a bystander was injured during the violent incident outside the White House. The suspected shooter — who has yet to be publicly named at the time of publication — allegedly opened fire at a Secret Service checkpoint at 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington D.C., though no agents were injured.
“Shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday, an individual in the area of 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue pulled a weapon from his bag and began firing,” Secret Service Chief of Communications Anthony Guglielmi told Us at the time. “Secret Service Police returned fire, striking the suspect who was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. During the shooting, one bystander was also struck by gunfire.”

It is unclear if the innocent bystander was struck by Secret Service Agents or the alleged shooter at the time of publication.
Earlier this month, Trump repeated the same claim while stating that the 90,000-square-foot, $400 million project — double what he originally said the ballroom would cost — will be “the most beautiful ballroom anywhere in the world” and “very safe.”
“You’ll never see anything like it. And it’ll also be very safe. It’s going to be a very safe ballroom,” he said during an address at his second Rose Garden Club dinner. “You look through it, and you can see as perfectly as though it weren’t there. Now how’d they do that? I don’t know, but it’s at the highest level of safety, and you won’t have a situation as you had two weeks ago on Saturday night.”
While the president and his Republican allies have long claimed that the controversial ballroom would not cost U.S. tax payers a cent, Trump and senate Republicans have since proposed that $1 billion of U.S. taxpayer funds pay for the president’s vanity project.
