Perfect, Disturbing Comedy Turns A Routine House Call Into An Extreme Downfall

By Robert Scucci
| Published

Have you ever had to sit through those agonizingly boring training videos that Troy McClure was always celebrating on The Simpsons? Titles like Dig Your Own Grave and Save and Lead Paint: Delicious But Deadly come to mind when I think of the brilliant 2020 satire, Survival Skills. As somebody who loves found footage, analog horror, and the kind of creepy lost media amateur filmmakers upload to YouTube (looking at you, Indistinct Chatter!), Survival Skills feels like something else entirely. It’s a disturbing tale about a naive, idealistic police officer fresh out of the academy who just so happens to be the subject of a 1980s training film meant to teach viewers the dos and don’ts of the job.

The film thrives in this environment and quickly goes off the rails in the best possible way when our wide-eyed trainee decides he doesn’t want to stick to the script, irritating the narrator to no end as he scrambles to force a course correction that’s clearly out of his scope as a member of the academy’s training staff.

Jim Is So Naive It’s Precious

Survival Skills 2020
Author’s Note: until this film decides to break the fourth wall, this is the video quality.

Survival Skills kicks off as your typical run-of-the-mill training video produced by Survival Solutions, Inc. We’re introduced to the narrator, portrayed by Stacy Keach, who gives us the rundown on how to be a good little police officer. He talks about the dangers of the job, proper protocol and etiquette, and how to diffuse the kinds of situations cops find themselves in when they start pounding the pavement with the intent of cleaning up the streets and keeping citizens safe.

Then we meet Jim (Vayu O’Donnell), who looks like he walked straight out of Leave It to Beaver. He’s so sickeningly optimistic that you almost don’t like him. He lives with his perfect girlfriend, Jenny, who packs his lunch with fresh jam every morning, and he carries a toy police cruiser with him everywhere because he’s just that innocent. When the narrator spins the wheel of potential house calls viewers need to prepare for, the training video throws Jim into a domestic disturbance on his first day, something he’s clearly not mentally equipped to handle.

Survival Skills 2020

During the call, Jim is disturbed by his older, more cynical partner Allison’s (Ericka Kreutz) lack of concern, but according to police protocol, she’s technically doing her job correctly. And she’s not wrong. They make the house call, everybody involved insists it was a misunderstanding, and Allison and Jim leave knowing they can’t legally do anything about Mark Jenning (Bradford Farwell), the abusive husband, or the way he treats his wife Leah (Emily Chisholm) and daughter Lauren (Madeline Anderson).

Here’s where the film gets interesting. Jim is rattled by the exchange and feels completely helpless. He wants to do right by his community and, more specifically, Leah and Lauren. The narrator watches the training tape in disgust as Jim keeps going off script, forcing him to rewind the tape and awkwardly reintroduce entire segments. Jim, the little Boy Scout that he is, keeps interfering with the escalating domestic situation, inadvertently destroying the family dynamic, his reputation, and his personal life in the process. His intentions are sincere, but he keeps breaking protocol, and his good intentions consistently make things worse for everybody involved.

Don’t Do What Donny Don’t Does

Survival Skills 2020

These days, it’s easy to say “All Cops Are Bastards” and assume anybody in uniform is a power-hungry monster waiting to ruin your life. Jim, on the other hand, is the real deal. All of his training tells him to use lethal force before properly sizing up a situation, and you can see him resisting that indoctrination with every fiber of his being. He genuinely wants to serve and protect, and whenever he tries to do exactly that, he’s advised against it. More often than not, he ignores that advice, usually with disastrous consequences.

You can see the toll these interactions take on Jim’s psyche as the second and third acts unfold. Slowly but surely, the light leaves his eyes. He becomes a cynical shell of his former self while the narrator completely loses his mind trying to fix a training tape that seems to have developed a life of its own.

Survival Skills 2020

Through Survival Solutions, Inc.’s training tape, we learn what’s truly at stake here, both in the film and in real life. Young men and women join the force hoping to make their communities safer. You have characters like Allison, who’s cynical but has accepted her role as somebody who simply goes through the motions because she knows criminals and abusers will always exercise their own free will, and there’s simply too much bureaucratic red tape involved to actually make a difference. Jim is constantly at odds with her because he sees the entire system as fundamentally broken and he wants to change it. In fact, the system is so broken that it ultimately breaks him in the worst possible way, while a horrified narrator takes swigs of brown liquor and slowly realizes he’s part of the problem.

Survival Skills is unlike any movie you’ve seen before. Through its satire, it exposes what’s wrong with training videos in general, not just police training videos, by trying to provide neat, by-the-books answers to deeply complicated problems. Real life doesn’t operate in black-and-white terms, and most of the interactions we experience every day exist in gray areas that people rarely want to talk about. Though it’s obviously a work of fiction, the film points to how life can’t be summed up with a quick summary or a simple “how-to” guide. Real life is much more complicated than the idealized versions we build in our heads, and more often than not, it’s a hell of a lot messier than we’d ever care to admit.

Survival Skills 2020
Now we’re lookin’ crisp!

As of this writing, you can stream Survival Skills for free on Tubi.

Bold and Beautiful 2-Week Spoilers May 25-June 5: Hope Betrays Everyone & Deke Thrilled!

Published

on

Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) -Deke Sharpe (Harrison Cone)

Bold and the Beautiful 2-Week Spoilers for May 25-June 5, 2026 include Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) turning on her mom after she decides Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) betrayed her.

Plus, Deke Sharp (Harrison Cone) is about to be thrilled with an offer of an exciting new venture, and we will find out more about the fireworks that happen after Hope takes a big step. Plus, Brooke gets good news and then really bad news. Also, Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) and Shauna Fulton (Denise Richards) are back in LA and lots more great stuff ahead.

Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers Monday, May 25th: Will Pleads with Electra

So, Monday, May 25th, if it is a new episode, these are the spoilers you’re going to see unfold. And if they do an unscheduled rerun, all these spoilers will push down by a day. So, the big reopening of Bikini Bar is the backdrop for Will getting closer to Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace). We’re also getting scenes with Deacon Sharpe because Sean Kanan is back to B&B this week. Yay!

I’m guessing that Deacon is on hand for the big launch because he owns the place. Will is with Electra and he’s wooing her, telling her how much that he needs her. Over at the bar, R.J. Forrester (Brayan Nicoletti) and Miss Dylan (Sydney Bullock) observe and of course R.J. looks annoyed and Will asks Electra to reunite with him. Meanwhile, Hope tells Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) she knows if she comes to Logan that all hell will break loose.

And she tells Hope it’s not worth it. But I do think Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) is going to convince Hope to sign the contract. Katie Logan (Heather Tom) holds the pen for Hope to sign. And of course, this can’t go on. Katie needs Hope to just finally make a decision. But Donna is doing her level best to obstruct and prevent Hope from joining them at Logan. I don’t think it’s going to work in the end. We’ll see.

Tuesday, May 26th on B&B: Brooke Blindsided

Tuesday, May 26th. Brooke is happy because she talked to Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and thinks that Hope for the Future will definitely be reinstated at Forrester Creations. I can’t imagine that they give Brooke a date, though, because they just don’t know. It’s going to be after Eric Forrester‘s (John McCook) launch unless something changes.

So, Brooke thinks that Hope’s going to be satisfied, but it looks like Brooke may get a rude awakening because Hope may have already signed on the dotted line at Logan. R.J. is dealt a low blow from Will. I think R.J.’s interfering when Will is wooing Electra, and that’s when Will may hit him back hard because honestly, he’s had enough of the insults and trash talk from R.J. I am team Will on this.

Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers for Wednesday, May 27th: Two Incredible Returns

Wednesday, May 27th, Denise Richards and Darin Brooks are officially back to Bold as Shauna Fulton and Wyatt Spencer. So, the spoiler is that Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) brings in somebody from the past to expand Logan’s empire. That should be Wyatt. And I bet Bill wants a Logan jewelry line to compete head-to-head with the Forrester Creations jewelry line. Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer) is Wyatt’s mom and he learned jewelry design at her knee. And he used to run her line, Quinn Artisan, with her back in the day, both as designers. So, when Forrester Creations bought her line, Wyatt and Quinn both designed for Forrester Creations and then later Wyatt did corporate stuff and he stepped away. But he is very talented.

Also at the end of Wednesday’s episode, look for Shauna to stroll into the CEO office and surprises Bill, Wyatt, and Liam. And when Shauna says, “Hey boys,” Bill demands to know what the hell she’s doing there. R.J.’s back to whining at Ridge and Steffy, asking them to again fire Will. I’m sure it’s personal again, but assuming that Hope signs with Logan and the Forresters know by then, R.J. may try some of the he’s a Spencer spy stuff, talking about Logan poaching people and Will helping.

Thursday, May 28th on Bold and the Beautiful: Donna Stuck in the Middle

Then on Thursday, May 28th, Donna finds herself smack dab in the middle of more Logan chaos. So, once Brooke finds out Katie was recruiting Hope, it’s going to get messy. I think, you know, Katie may do like she did with Donna and may try and blame it on Liam, but also, you know, Katie may clap back that Brooke, Steffy, and Ridge were not treating Hope fairly.

There’s a hiccup in Bill’s plan, and I’m guessing it is Shauna. I suspect she might want to be part of the Logan action. Since her daughter Flo Fulton (Katrina Bowden) is a Logan, too. She’s Katie’s niece, Storm Logan’s (William deVry) daughter.

But Shauna is also Quinn’s best friend. So, Shauna might be there representing Quinn. I wonder if Bill wants to use Quinn’s name, like Quinn Artisan for Logan or something. Plus, Shauna’s presence in LA may throw off Brooke and Ridge. If you don’t recall, Shauna has the hots for Ridge and she got him drunk in Vegas and Shauna got Ridge to marry her there.

It later got set aside or it wasn’t even a real priest. There was a whole thing. And I’m also hoping we’re going to find out the fate of Wyatt’s engagement to Shauna’s daughter Flo. You know, they were engaged, then she left, then Wyatt left. They never confirmed if they split or what.

Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers Friday, May 29th: Electra Shares Great News

Friday, May 29th, Electra delivers some really exciting news to Dylan. I suspect that Electra and Will may get back together. Electra’s been giving R.J. some of her time, but Will is her first love. Despite Dylan having a thing for Will, looks like she backed off and would actually be happy for Electra if she and Will got back together. Plus, things take a positive turn for Deke.

If you remember, Katie, Bill, and Liam all told Hope that she can bring Deke over to Logan with her. So, Hope may drop in with a job offer to design for her at Logan, but they still need a lead designer. And I’m super curious to see if Zende Forrester (Delon de Metz) will also join Logan once he finds out Hope for the Future is totally dead at Forrester Creations because Hope felt like she had to walk away. On the plus side, if Zende follows Hope to Logan, then Zende would get a big promotion, and he would instantly be a lead designer. On the negative side, the other Forresters might brand him a traitor and hate him.

Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) -Deke Sharpe (Harrison Cone)Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) -Deke Sharpe (Harrison Cone)
Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Hope Logan – Deke Sharpe

Week of June 1st-5th on Bold: Hope Faces Fallout

The week of June 1st through the 5th, we’re going to see Hope facing fallout from her decision. But if she does indeed sign with Logan, as I expect, you know, Liam is going to get Hope all excited about working with her brother Deke. And I think Liam and Bill and Katie are all going to encourage Hope to hit the ground running at Logan. We’ll find out more about where Wyatt and Shauna have been and what they’ve been up to.

And I’m hoping that Wyatt agrees to set up a jewelry line for Logan and that Darin Brooks will stick around, that it’s not going to be him designing offscreen like Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) is. Once Brooke finds out Katie welcomed Hope with open arms, I’m sure that Brooke is going to see this as an open declaration of war. However, she may also blame Steffy and Ridge for shelving Hope’s line. Donna seems likely to take Brooke’s side in this mess. Donna already warned Hope and Katie over and over, but they pressed on and Donna doesn’t want the drama.

Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Deacon & Taylor are Missed

Hopefully, we’re going to see more of Deacon and Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) together. And I would really like an update on Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) as well. We should see Deke on the job at Logan soon, but Remy Pryce (Christian Weissmann) may continue to be a problem.

And it’s probably easier for him to slip into the big Spencer Tower than it is for him to creep around Forrester Creations, which is a small business. Ridge and Brooke may confront Bill and Katie about Hope and just poaching in general.

Steffy is going to rage about Hope and may go full anti-Logan in a new tirade. And despite all the drama, I actually think that Hope might really enjoy her time at Logan, especially if she also gets to work with Wyatt because, you know, they used to be together. They remain friends.

And since he may be designing jewelry to accompany her new line, there might be a whole symbiosis thing going. I do expect R.J. to continue to be a problem for Will and Electra personally and also for Will on the job.

Photo With His Biological Mother Goes Viral

Rihanna Seemingly Addresses Baby Rumors, Talks "Little Pouch"

Once upon a time, T.I. and Tiny Harris shared their family with the world on the TV show, ‘The Family Hustle.’ Still, there are folks on the internet who may not be aware of how blended the couple’s tribe is! In fact, T.I. and Tiny both have children from previous relationships, including Domani Harris. This past weekend, the 25-year-old went viral after a photo surfaced of him and his biological mom, gagging some social media users!

RELATED: Family Business! Domani Checks King Harris Over Recent Arrest As Fans Weigh In (VIDEO)

Here’s The Harris Family Breakdown

T.I. and Tiny married in 2010, and at the time, they each entered the marriage with children of their own. The rapper had two sons, Domani and Messiah Harris, with former partner Lashon Dixon and a daughter, Deyjah Harris, with Ranniqua ‘Ms. Niko’ Brannum. Domani and Messiah spent time in the same household as Tiny, despite being primarily raised by their mom. Deyjah’s mom reportedly made appearances on the Harris family’s reality shows, such as ‘The Family Hustle,’ which ran from 2011 to 2017 and ‘Friends & Family Hustle,’ which ran from 2018 to 2021.

Meanwhile, the Xscape singer had a daughter, Zonnique Pullins, with Zonnie ‘Zeboe’ Pullins. Together, T.I. and Tiny Harris have three kids, King, Major and Heiress Harris. Additionally, the couple had a stillborn daughter, Leyah Amore Harris, in 2007.

In addition to being parents and stepparents, T.I. and Tiny are also blended grandparents. Their first grandchild is Zonnique’s daughter, Hunter, who was born in 2020. King Harris had his first son, whom he named after himself, in 2024. Messiah and Domani also have daughters named Mercy and Marley, respectively.

Domani Harris’ Mother Makes Rare Appearance

As mentioned, on May 23, an X user reposted a photo of Domani and his mother, Lashon Dixon, calling them “twins.” In the photo, the 25-year-old had his arm around his mom’s shoulder, and she was looking slightly backward. They were dressed casually and appeared to be attending an outdoor event, though the date the photo was taken is unclear.

The X post has gotten over five million views since Saturday, and more than 200 reposts and at least 63 comments. Some comments are expressing shock at learning Lashon is Domani’s mom and not Tiny. But others are calling out the lack of knowledge, especially given how open the Harris’ have been about their family dynamics.

Domani Recently Stepped For Tiny Harris

Despite Tiny not being his biological mom, Domani Harris appears to maintain a high level of respect for his stepmom. During a feud between T.I. and another rapper-turned-TV producer, this said rapper took shots at Tiny by sharing unflattering images of her online. King Harris popped all the way off, both in the booth and on social media. Domani also stepped behind Tiny, dropping a diss track titled ‘Ms. Jackson’ aimed at the rapper-producer and his dead mother. He later said he didn’t consult his dad about the diss.

The Most Controversial Anime On Netflix Is Secretly Heartbreaking

The Most Controversial Anime On Netflix Is Secretly Heartbreaking

By Chris Snellgrove
| Published

You ever get weird looks from people when you tell them what kinds of music you like? Whenever someone asks me what I like to listen to, I tell them the truth: “sad girl music.” Sure, I may travel the country to attend rock and metal festivals, and I always have a great time. But at the end of the day, my real jam is the dulcet tones of ladies like Lana del Rey and Phoebe Bridgers. That’s because these gals have built a career on capturing the most elusive creative aesthetic of all: bittersweet melancholy

It’s especially difficult to find that kind of vibe in anime, a medium dominated by bright colors and over-the-top battles. But that vibe is alive and well in Assassination Classroom, an anime (now streaming on Netflix) that is filled with inspirational moments between colorful students and their completely unconventional teacher. Fittingly enough for a school anime, this show is filled with solid lessons that might just change how you view life. Where does the bittersweet melancholy come in, though? Simple: the teacher is a threat to the entire world, and he is training these students to save humanity by killing him!

Class Is In Session

Assassination Classroom 2015

The premise of Assassination Classroom is that after most of the moon blows up, a yellow, octopus-looking man shows up and claims responsibility. The governments of the world discover, to their horror, that this guy has so many superpowers that he is impossible to kill. The mystery man announces that he’ll destroy the entire planet in one year, but he also makes a very bizarre offer: he wants to teach his own class of middle school misfits. He plans on teaching them a standard curriculum, but with a twist. Day by day, he will teach these students how to kill him. If they can do so by the end of the school year, they can save all of humanity.

As you can tell, the wonderfully absurd premise is what draws most fans to Assassination Classroom. In both Western and Eastern media, there is no shortage of shows about teachers inspiring a group of quirky students. But this is the only one (to my knowledge, at least) where the teacher is actively training his students to kill him, making this feel like Dead Poets Society meets Die Hard. The plot also invites plenty of speculation about the teacher. Who and what is he? Where did his powers come from? What are his true intentions? It’s a powerful hook that really encourages binge-watching.

Voted “Most Likely To Kill Their Teacher”

Assassination Classroom 2015

While the students are interesting (more on this in a minute), the teacher affectionately dubbed “Koro-sensei” is the highlight of the entire show. In some way, he reminded me of Vash the Stampede from the original Trigun. Koro-Sensei spends most of his time onscreen cracking jokes, but he can turn deadly serious at the most unexpected times. This helps give the character a killer combo of charisma and mystery. Plus, he’s a weirdly good teacher, one who establishes an easy rapport with students while dispensing major life lessons. Honestly, if you’ve ever been nostalgic for your school days, it’s probably because you had a teacher like this (minus the tentacles and invulnerable skin, that is).

Assassination Classroom also shines because Koro-Sensei has such a good class. Nagisa is particularly compelling as a student balancing his unconventional skills as an assassin with a chaotic and abusive home life. Karma, meanwhile, is a study in contrasts; an academic genius who keeps getting kicked out of school due to recklessly violent behavior. I was pleasantly surprised by how much the show focused on the students because I was afraid that Koro-Sensei would butt in and steal every scene. But like a good teacher, he knows when to help and when to let the students figure things out on their own, and watching the kids’ arcs play out is genuinely exciting.

School’s Out For Summer

Assassination Classroom 2015

Those students’ lives, as well as the mysterious background of their teacher, contribute to the salty/sweet tone of the show. Scenes can often go from slapstick humor to deeply emotional, which gives some of Assassination Classroom’s more tearjerking scenes the impact of a bullet. Speaking of tearjerking, this show has a finale that is guaranteed to bring the waterworks out in anyone with a functioning heart. That’s the real beauty of the series, honestly. You’ll learn some life-changing lessons and cry your heart out, often in the same episode, and all because of a weird octopus man that looks more like a horror villain than a teacher.

If you’re worried about the time investment (personally, I always get nervous when somebody recommends a show with a zillion seasons), you’ll be pleased to learn that Assassination Classroom is only two seasons. That’s plenty of time to introduce the characters, give everyone a fulfilling arc, and wrap things up before the show wears out its welcome. It’s the kind of anime you can easily finish in a week, and one that you can easily introduce to your wife and kids. Just think of it as Koro-Sensei’s final lesson: the family that slays together, stays together!

Assassination Classroom 2015

Fortunately, you don’t have to wait for the drop/add period to add yourself to Koro-Sensei’s roster of students. Assassination Classroom is currently streaming on Netflix, with the second, final season about to drop on the streaming platform. It’s an anime like you’ve never seen before, featuring a teacher like nothing you could imagine. Filled with hilarious moments, heart-wrenching truths, and some of the most charismatic misfits to ever grace the small screen, this is one inspiring anime that has earned its place at the top of the class. Or, at the very least, the top of your “to be watched” pile!

Yaya Mayweather Denies Being “Obsessed” With NBA YoungBoy

Oop! Yaya Mayweather Shuts Down Claims That She's "Obsessed" With NBA YoungBoy Or Wants Him Back

Want WHO back? That’s the energy Yaya Mayweather seemingly has when it comes to NBA Youngboy. She recently asked his fans and online users to let go of any narratives linking her to him. Her comments follow a viral video of her vibing to his music, which she’s done for years — even to the point of attending his concert with her mom last year.

RELATED: Social Media Users Are Mentioning Yaya Mayweather After Jazlyn Mychelle Went Live With NBA YoungBoy (WATCH)

Yaya Mayweather Denies Being “Obsessed” With NBA YoungBoy

A video shared on X on March 25 shows Yaya singing one of NBA YoungBoy’s songs word-for-word, allegedly while inside a Houston spot. The video got over 515,000 views and one X user quoted it, writing, “She love her baby daddy more than he will ever love her and it’s sickening.” Hours later, Yaya peeped the tweet and responded, clarifying that she loves his music, not him.

“No i don’t want to still be with my child’s father, no i’m not still in love with him, no i’m not obsessed that ship has sailed,” Yaya Mayweather wrote. “So can we please let that narrative go? i just enjoy the music like everyone else, that’s it nothing more to it. thanks for coming to my ted talk.”

This isn’t the first time Yaya Mayweather has sparked conversations about wanting NBA YoungBoy back. In recent months, she’s on-and-off blasted him online, particularly over his involvement in their son Kentrell Jr.’s life. For example, on Mother’s Day, she accused him of “playing step daddy flying a groupie h*e and her child to Paris.” Yaya even called him a “sorry a*s b*tch” and accused him of providing a living space for the woman and her son but not showing up for Kentrell Jr. “mentally, physically, emotionally or financially.”

As previously reported, Yaya Mayweather’s name was also in the mix last week. At the time, Jazlyn Mychelle and NBA YoungBoy got some attention after their rare joint appearance on social media. In the video, Jaz explained that she, her husband and their dog were going on a 2-mile walk. “We’re the parents, mom and dad,” Jazlyn said in the clip.

Yaya Mayweather Warns Inner Circle About Pending Switch-Up

Three days before her 26th birthday, Yaya Mayweather used X to send a warning to her inner circle. It’s unclear what sparked her message, but it appears she had been disappointed about the energy behind her birthday. She did not name-drop anyone in the post.

“Crazy how people only know how to show up when it benefits them, but when it’s time to show up and show love for my birthday suddenly nobody can be found. mind you i’m always there for people whether it’s birthdays or not. it’s really people i don’t even talk to or see on a regular showing up for me and supporting me. after my birthday i’m definitely changing my inner circle. and if you feel like this applies to you… it probably does.”

Mayweather Family Grows By One

And while her inner circle may be getting smaller, her family circle recently grew! Turns out, Yaya has a four-year-old sister, Price Moorehead. Her father Floyd Mayweather had the child in 2021 with a dancer from his strip club. He and the child’s mother have reportedly been wrapped up in court since June 2023. At the time, the mother requested that the court declare Floyd the father. He allegedly dodged court orders for a DNA test and in March 2026, the courts declared him the father by default judgement. Since then, he’s been ordered to pay back child support and monthly support at a rate of $32,850.

General Hospital: Kate Mansi Exits as Kristina – Lexi Ainsworth Returning?

Published

on

General Hospital: Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi)

General Hospital has shocking news that recently broke that Kate Mansi is officially done and is out as Kristina Corinthos Davis, and that means big changes are coming. And that has us wondering if Lexi Ainsworth is coming back as a replacement or if Kristina is just going to leave.

We’re going to talk about the reasons behind Kate Mansi’s shocking exit, how the ABC soap’s going to handle it. And what is next for Kristina.

Kate Mansi Chose Not To Renew Her Contract

All right. So, it was absolutely jaw-dropping when the official news broke and it was confirmed by actress Kate Mansi herself that she had chosen not to renew her contract at General Hospital and she just wrapped up her three-year run. That was her initial contract. So, during the contract renewal process, I guess it was just like, “No, she’s not going to stay as Kristina.”

And Kate explained her reasons for leaving GH in a recent interview and she said it was a very difficult decision. The actress said that leaving as Kristina just made sense though. And Kate Mansi says she has some new projects that she wants to give her full attention to. One of those is producing a series with her husband Matt McInnis and it’s filming abroad. Kate Mansi said she needed flexibility to travel as needed while also pursuing other projects. Now, her husband is producing Tomb Raider, so she may be working on that with him as well. But basically, it sounds like that she ran out of space in her life to keep playing Kristina.

And then Kate Mansi talked about being incredibly grateful to showrunner Frank Valentini as well as the network and the writers. And Kate Mansi called playing Kristina meaningful and unforgettable. Kate also said she was proud of the story she got to play during her three-year run at General Hospital. And one of the storylines that we know from the get-go that meant a lot to her was Kristina going through the endometriosis storyline with her sister Molly Lansing Davis. Because the actress has endometriosis herself in real life.

So, Kate Mansi also mentioned how satisfying it was that she got to do some directing at General Hospital and then she said it just felt like the right time for her and for Kristina to step into new adventures.

Now, that phrasing is kind of a red flag to me of what might be coming. And showrunner Frank Valentini said that the door is always open to Kate. So, that to me sounds like Kristina is leaving rather than jumping right into a recast. But that doesn’t mean a recast won’t happen sooner rather than later. And I know a lot of fans would love to have Lexi Ainsworth back in the role. But for now, it sounds like Kristina is going to exit.

How Will They Write Kristina Out?

So, let’s talk about how they will write her out, at least for now, with Kate Mansi saying there are new adventures for Kristina. That sounds like her character may be finding something cool to do outside of Port Charles. So, one thing we might see with Kate Mansi leaving General Hospital and Kristina also leaving Port Charles is some kind of romantic situation. Official GH spoilers have her getting big news this week and that may be something tied to her ex-girlfriend Blaze who of course is now out on tour.

There was a big fan base for Kristina and Blaze and fans had given them the smoosh name Kraze. And I know this fan base would love to see Kristina and Blaze get back together. You know, I’m sure they would prefer it to be on General Hospital rather than offscreen. But it could happen if they go that route. You know, they could set it up. So, Kristina left town with Blaze.

General Hospital: Kristina Thrilled

So, we could see Kristina thrilled. Because Blaze pops into town and then talks her into going on tour with her and reuniting. And if Kristina did leave town with Blaze, I could see her leaving Charlie’s pub in Gio’s hands to run. He is a good choice. Because his other job right now is at Bobby’s and in the summer he worked by the Metro Court pool but otherwise you know he’s free to run the pub for Kristina if she decided to leave Port Charles for a while plus he’s family you know Gio is her nephew.

And also we have to consider that there is a chance given current storylines that something bad might happen to Kristina and she exit under unfortunate circumstances. Because this week we’ve got Ric and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) plotting on how to take down Sidwell and Colum is an ongoing problem since he is plotting to kill Kristina’s other nephew Rocco Falconeri since now he knows the kid shot him. So Kristina might wind up caught in some sort of crossfire and she’s injured.

You know, if she winds up collateral damage in the Sonny versus Sidwell war, we could see Kristina exiting, you know, in a long-term coma or that she’s presumed dead or blown up like Morgan Corinthos with no body found to prove that they’re dead or not, which would easily set up a later return for either a recast or if Kate Mansi decided to come back.

General Hospital: Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi)General Hospital: Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi)
General Hospital: Kristina Corinthos-Davis

Could Lexi Ainsworth Return?

Remember when Michael Corinthos swapped from Chad Duell to Rory Gibson? That was after Michael was badly burned in the penthouse bombing and he came back from Germany where he went for burn treatments with a new face. When he returned, Chad Duell had exited and Rory Gibson was in the role. And that’s when Michael showed up at the Nurses Ball and shocked everybody. And in other General Hospital spoilers for this week, Ethan Lovett (Nathan Dean) gets a new assignment. So, he might go chasing after Rocco.

Since Ethan and Kristina have gotten closer again, I could see a setup where she goes with Ethan to help find her nephew Rocco. From there, Kristina could actually take Rocco and go hide out with him until the danger dies down. And then, of course, they could bring Kristina back later with a new face. And unless GH has decided to sideline the role, that means there is a chance for a recast.

Let’s be honest, a lot of General Hospital fans would love to see them dial it back and bring Lexi Ainsworth back to GH. If you remember, basically they just up and exited her to make room for Kate Mansi. And a lot of fans were ticked off. So maybe the powers that be at General Hospital would undo that and bring Lexi back.

General Hospital: Kate Mansi Done

And another reason that’s a red flag to me that GH may be considering a recast is that they just spent all that money to redo the Charlie’s Pub set. And by then, you know, I think they likely already knew that Kate Mansi wasn’t going to renew her contract. But they did the set anyway in the big debut. So that would be the perfect time for Lexi to come back and reprise the role of Kristina. Currently, it doesn’t look like Lexi has any projects on her plate, at least that aren’t listed on her IMDb page as, you know, in production, stuff like that.

So, if you remember when she debuted as Kristina on General Hospital, Lexi was really young. She was 16 years old and she played the role for like 14 years or something. So, I’m sure that the ABC soap is like a second home to Lexi Ainsworth. We’ll have to wait and see how it shakes out. One thing we know is that the end is coming in the next few weeks for Kristina. Because Kate Mansi already taped her last episode.

So, she is officially done. She’s gone from GH dressing room, packed up, out of there. So, maybe we’ll see them take Kristina Corinthos out of town, you know, one way or another. We’ll find out if it’s something violent or something good like her going off with Blaze, but in the end, we still might end up getting Lexi Ainsworth back.

Paramount+ Brings Back TV’s Most Chaotic Series With a Major Change

Published

on

Johnny Knoxville yelling and blowing an airhorn in Jackass The Movie

The 2000s brought tons of great comedy TV shows to the world. The end of Friends and Seinfeld opened the door for game-changing titles like The Office, Parks and Recreation, Modern Family, and Community. As great as those sitcoms are, there’s one particular comedy series from the 2000s that not only pushed the limits of what television could be, but also defined an entire generation’s sense of humor. Over on MTV, Johnny Knoxville and his merry band of hilarious hooligans took to the streets and made us laugh until we cried — something they’re still doing 26 years later.

Jackass premiered with its infamous “Poo Cocktail” episode on October 1, 2000, and TV has never been the same since. Unfortunately for fans of the iconic prank series, only the feature films have been streaming of late. The series was removed from Paramount+ last year and there was no word as to when or if it would return. This past week, however, Jackass was suddenly added back to the Paramount+ lineup, with one major change that should delight longtime fans.

‘Jackass’ Is Back in Its Original Form

When Paramount+ announced that Jackass had returned to streaming, it also delivered the news that every episode of the original series had finally been restored to the original version that first aired on MTV. The show has been altered and edited several times over the past two-and-a-half decades, and the creative team found many of the episodes failed to represent what they had originally made and released. So they asked Paramount to pull the series from streaming last year and have all the episodes restored to their original versions.

“In the time since the release of Jackass 26 years ago, the television episodes had been re-edited, re-sequenced, and re-scored to the point they were unrecognizable,” creator and star Johnny Knoxville said in a statement. “I found this out the hard way last year when attempting to watch them. Eeek! But kudos to Paramount for giving us the $$ to restore the shows to how they initially aired in the first place. We can’t wait until you see all the terrible things we did to each other way back then and in the manner we intended!”

Now, every episode of the original Jackass series is available to stream on Paramount+, unchanged from what originally aired back in 2000 and 2001. The rollout of the original episodes began exclusively on Paramount+ in the United States, but is set to continue in other markets over the next few weeks.

Just in Time for a New ‘Jackass’ Movie

Timing is everything in entertainment, and the return of the original Jackass episodes couldn’t come at a better time for the franchise. The series came back to streaming just about a month before the final Jackass film is set to be released in theaters.

While many thought that the 2022 hit Jackass Forever would be the last movie in the series, the crew surprised fans with the news of a fifth installment — Jackass: Best and Last. The movie is hitting theaters on June 26th and will combine a slew of new stunts with footage from some of the franchise’s most iconic pranks. Jackass: Best and Last appears to be more of a reflection and celebration of the entirety of Jackass, rather than just another feature-length prank adventure.

All of the Jackass cast members that appeared in Jackass Forever will be back for Best and Last, including the new franchise rookies. Bam Margera and the late Ryan Dunn will also appear in the film via archive footage of pranks taken from the TV series and previous movie entries.

With a new Jackass on the way in just one month’s time, fans now have a perfect opportunity to watch through the entire franchise from start to finish — the way it was always meant to be seen.

Bold and the Beautiful: Bill’s Evil Plot to Destroy Forrester Creations!

Published

on

Bold and the Beautiful: Bill Spencer (Don Diamont)

Bold and the Beautiful reveals Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) bringing his son Wyatt Spencer back to town as part of Bill’s big expansion plan for Logan. Now that Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) officially inked her contract and it looks like Wyatt is joining them, it’s starting to look like a strategic plan to destroy their competition.

We are going to talk about what sort of scheme Bill may be cooking up to crush Forrester Creations and make sure Logan comes out on top. Now, let’s talk about what Katie Logan (Heather Tom) and her hunky hubby might be planning to make sure Logan wins this fashion rivalry.

Hope Signed with Logan This Week

So, this week already, Hope made a decision to leave Forrester Creations and join Logan. She seemed conflicted last week and of course, Donna Logan tried her best to stop her. But this week, Hope grabbed up the pen and signed on the dotted line. And the Spencers and Katie made sure to emphasize that her brother Deke Sharp is definitely part of the deal. And Katie swore everybody in the room to secrecy, including Donna.

So, this is going to be a sort of epic blindside if they can keep it quiet. They didn’t manage to keep the Eric stuff completely quiet, though. But it’s definitely going to get messy because Hope still is going to have to quit Forrester Creations. Either that or invent some way to be out of the office most of the day. She doesn’t have the bandwidth to work there and also over at Logan. So, we’ll have to wait and see how she explains it. If Hope resigns from Forrester Creations and maybe tells her mom, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang), she’s just going to take some time off to think things over because it’s been stressful.

Bold and the Beautiful: Keeping Hope a Secret

We know already from Katie and Bill’s plotting that they don’t want anybody at Forrester Creations to know that Hope joined them. They want to blindside with the release of her new line under the Logan umbrella. And this week, Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say things are looking up for Deke. That means Hope is going to go over and give her little brother the absolutely amazing news. Hope is going to tell Deke that she is now part of the Logan team, and he is too.

All he has to do is say yes. And we’ll see if Hope and Deke can pull off this line alone or if they’re going to need to bring in a lead designer because I’m still wondering if Zende Forrester (Delon de Metz) is going to join them because he’s tired of things at Forrester Creations as well. I’m certain if Hope talks to Zende and tells him she’s resigning, he may want to know what she’s doing. And Hope might roll the dice and ask Zende if he can keep a secret and if he wants to come to Logan. He is really frustrated being stuck babysitting R.J. Forrester (Joshua Hoffman) who’s been given his own little nepo baby line.

Bill Is Bringing Wyatt Back for a Logan Jewelry Line

But whether Zende joins or not, Bill is full speed ahead with Logan. And clearly he wants to topple Forrester Creations and make his wife Katie the first lady of fashion in LA. And I do think Bill has a strategic plan to take down Forrester Creations. I don’t think that Katie started Logan with the intent to poach from Forrester Creations, but after Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke forcibly retired Eric Forrester (John McCook), which is, you know, aka firing him, he’s the one who came to Katie. And that might have started Bill and Katie thinking that poaching dissatisfied people from Forrester Creations is a viable strategy.

It’s certainly a predatory strategy. So hiring former Forrester designer Deke is part of it and poaching Zende may be something else that Bill would love to do. You know, we can already tell that Katie and Bill are planning to rush out Hope’s line because they know they can’t sit on the secret for long. Even if Donna doesn’t blab, secrets leak out. Good news is that Deke already has a portfolio of designs that they can use as a starting point over at Logan.

Bold and the Beautiful: Bill Brings Wyatt Back

And then this week, Bill is bringing Wyatt back to town. I suspect Bill wants Wyatt to start a Logan jewelry line and to be the lead designer for it because remember, he learned design from his mom, Quinn Fuller. And at one point, Wyatt and Quinn were running her line out of Forrester Creations. They bought it. So, that would be perfect because it’s like poaching from the past.

But since Wyatt is a known design success in the jewelry field, it makes a lot of sense. And let’s face it, Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace) is not as skilled or experienced as Wyatt. That’s just a fact. Plus, she spends a lot of her time pouting and whining about her love life. That’s distraction. So, Bill might one-up Forrester Creations by bringing in Wyatt. He could design pieces to go with Hope’s new line at Logan. And I fully expect for Bill to get Wyatt to hit the ground running and hustle out designs.

That way they can debut New Hope or whatever they’re going to call it along with a Logan jewelry line at the same time. They could put Hope and Wyatt on the runway together as a double whammy to slap at Forrester Creations. And if Zende’s with them, it’d be a triple slap.

Bill May Want to Match Forrester Creations Head-To-Head

Now, if Bill really wants to be on equal footing with Forrester Creations, they also need a fragrance line. So, we might see Logan trying to land a nose of their own to compete with Daphne Rose over at Forrester Creations. And I mean, for this, I would be so thrilled if we got a crossover from Young and the Restless. They could bring in Ashley Abbott. She was the primary fragrance designer and chemist for Jabot over on Y&R. If you don’t watch it, and if you don’t remember, Eileen Davidson did almost 140 episodes on Bold and the Beautiful, playing her Y&R character, and Ashley designed fragrances for Forrester Creations.

So, if Bill landed Ashley, that would be huge. Now, I will say Bill and Ashley never overlapped because she left Bold in 2008 and Bill only came to Bold in 2009 after the death of his father, Bill Spencer, Senior. But I could see Ashley coming back because back in the day, Ridge broke his engagement to Ashley to go back to Brooke, of course, and also Forrester Creations canceled her fragrance line. So, Ashley would be perfect for Bill to bring in. And Eileen Davidson is rarely on Y&R these days. She chose to step back from it. But taking another spin as Ashley on B&B might be something Eileen Davidson might consider. She’s not doing Real Housewives right now, I don’t think. So, she has some time.

And that would give Logan a youthful line from Hope, a jewelry line from Wyatt, and they might wind up with a fragrance line from Ashley. Then they just need a couture designer to follow up on Eric’s first collection since he’s already gone. I would love to see them bring back Clarke Garrison or Amber Moore for this.

Bold and the Beautiful:

If Bill really wants to match Forrester Creations head-to-head, they’ll also need a lingerie/undergarment line. I mean, I think it’d be super tacky to call it Katie’s Bedroom to mock Brooke’s lingerie line, but calling it Logan Lingerie would definitely work. I noticed that Brooke is still griping this week about Katie stealing her name, the name they share. But just last week, she was calling herself Brooke Forrester. Not even Brooke Logan Forrester. Brooke Forrester. So I guess what? She gets all the names. You know, legally Katie had every right to use it, but I know a lot of fans remain torn over whether her registering the trademark was right or wrong.

Bottom line, I think Bill wants Logan to compete with Forrester Creations head-to-head, and he wants to see Katie come out on top. Last week, Bill called Forrester Creations a dusty old fashion house, and it has been, and said Katie’s company is the newer and better fashion house. Mostly though, I think Bill just really wants to stick it to Ridge. I will say I’m super excited to see what Bill is plotting to kind of wipe some of that smug attitude off Ridge’s face. And also, it’s really energizing as a longtime watcher to see two fashion houses competing on Bold and the Beautiful. They haven’t had that in many years, and I think it’s great.

‘The Walking Dead’ Star’s Criminally Overlooked Sci-Fi Hit Is Taking Over Hulu

Published

on

01937828_poster_w780.jpg

AMC’s The Walking Dead would never have reached its massive popularity without its outstanding cast, who brilliantly brought the post-apocalyptic drama to life. Based on the comic book series of the same name, the hit series ran for 11 seasons from October 31, 2010, to November 20, 2022, with Andrew Lincoln leading the show as the heroic Rick Grimes for its first nine seasons. While Rick remains one of the franchise’s most iconic characters, several others have become just as beloved by fans over the years. One standout is Aaron, the compassionate Alexandria recruiter portrayed by Ross Marquand, who first appears in Season 5.

Although Marquand is best known for his role on The Walking Dead, he has worked on many other projects, not just as an actor but also as an impressionist. Most recently, he starred in the 2025 critically acclaimed sci-fi thriller written and directed by Peter Cilella, in which his character struggles with personal trauma. Titled Descendent, the film has found a new streaming home less than a year after its release, making it more accessible to sci-fi fans who are sure to be hooked from start to finish.

Descendent premiered at South by Southwest on March 10, 2025, and was later released on digital platforms on August 15, 2025. The alien abduction movie arrived on Hulu today, May 26, 2026, joining a ton of similarly compelling titles that have made their way to the streamer this month. Also starring in Descendent are Sarah Bolger, Susan Wilder, Charlene Amoia, Dan O’Brien, Brandon Scott, Alexandra Barreto, and Parvesh Cheena.

Your Fate Has Been Calculated
You’d Survive In…

Your answers point to the world your instincts were built for. This is the universe your temperament, your survival instincts, and your particular brand of stubbornness were made for.

The Resistance, Zion

The Matrix

You took the red pill a long time ago — probably before anyone offered it to you. You’re a systems thinker who can’t help but notice the seams in things.

  • You’re drawn to understanding how the system works before figuring out how to break it.
  • You’d find the Resistance, or it would find you — your instinct for spotting constructed realities is the machines’ worst nightmare.
  • You function best when you have access to information and the freedom to act on it.
  • The Matrix built an airtight prison. You’d be the one probing the walls for the door.

The Wasteland

Mad Max

The wasteland doesn’t reward the clever or the well-connected — it rewards those who are hard to kill and harder to break. That’s you.

  • You don’t need comfort, community, or a cause larger than the next horizon.
  • You need a vehicle, a clear threat, and enough fuel to outrun it — and you’re good at all three.
  • You are unsentimental enough to survive that world, and decent enough — just barely — to be something more than another raider.
  • In the wasteland, that distinction is everything.

Los Angeles, 2049

Blade Runner

You’d survive here because you know how to exist in moral grey areas without losing yourself completely.

  • You read people accurately, keep your circle small, and ask the questions others prefer not to answer.
  • In a city where humanity is a legal designation rather than a feeling, you hold onto something that keeps you functional.
  • You’re not a hero. But you’re not lost, either.
  • In Blade Runner’s world, that distinction is everything.

Arrakis

Dune

Arrakis is the most hostile environment in the known universe — and you are precisely the kind of person it rewards.

  • Patience, discipline, and political awareness are your core strengths — and on Arrakis, they’re survival tools.
  • You understand that the long game matters more than any single victory.
  • Others come to Dune and are consumed by it. You’d learn its logic and earn its respect.
  • In time, you wouldn’t just survive Arrakis — you’d begin to reshape it.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars

The galaxy far, far away is vast, loud, and in a constant state of violent political upheaval — and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

  • You find meaning in being part of something larger than yourself — a cause, a crew, a rebellion.
  • You’d gravitate toward the Rebellion, or the fringes, or whatever pocket of the galaxy still believes the Empire’s grip can be broken.
  • You fight — not because you have to, but because standing aside isn’t something you’re capable of.
  • In Star Wars, that willingness is what makes all the difference.

What Happens in the 88% RT Hit ‘Descendent’?

Based on 25 reviews, Descendent boasts an 88% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, a huge difference from its 44% audience score. In the film, Marquand portrays Sean Bruner, a school security guard in Los Angeles who deals with a lot of stress and personal trauma as he and his wife, Andrea (Bolger), prepare for the birth of their first child. However, when he climbs onto the roof one night to fix a light bulb, he sees something in the night sky and falls off the roof. As he recovers, Sean finds himself grappling with visions of a spacecraft and an unexplained artistic ability, prompting the question of what really happened to him. And with a baby on the way, he races to face his demons before his growing obsession consumes him.

Descendent now streams on Hulu.

As The Shade Room previously reported, in December 2023, Jazmine Sullivan revealed that her grandmother had passed away. This, reportedly, five months after her mother.

“Rest now grandmom. I know mommy is so happy to see you! These women are the very reason I sing and write. The reason I’m funny and sassy. The reason I say what I mean according to my conviction… God decided 2023 I could handle losing them both. Iono why.. but his plans are above me,” she had wrote in part via an Instagram Story at the time.

To note, earlier that year, Sullivan’s mom, Pamela, passed away after a battle with breast cancer.
