Firefighters called to tackle blaze at Abbey Drive, Bury
Crews from three different stations were all called to the semi-detached house on Abbey Drive, off Ainsworth Road on the west side of Bury at around 7.30pm on Saturday December 6.
The fire is understood to have involved the ground floor and as of around 10pm on Saturday evening crews were still at the scene tackling the blaze.
A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “At shortly before 7.30pm on Saturday, December 6, three fire engines from Whitefield, Bolton and Bolton North fire stations were called to a fire involving the ground floor of a semi-detached home on Abbey Drive, Bury.
“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels to extinguish the fire. Crews remain in attendance.”
Eyewitnesses said that the firefighters were still going about their work at the scene later into Saturday evening having already been there for several hours.

Greater Manchester Police have been approached for comment.
