Man arrested after ‘arson attack’ at Middlesbrough home
Emergency services were called to Netherfields Crescent on Sunday (December 7) after a blaze broke out around 9.30am.
Dramatic pictures captured the moment flames started pouring from an upstairs window, with black smoke billowing into the sky.
The fire decimated the property, causing full fire and smoke damage, but fortunately, no one was inside at the time, and no injuries were reported.
A 37-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.

He has since been bailed with conditions pending further enquirie, Cleveland Police said..
Detectives are now carrying out “extensive enquiries” to establish the exact cause of the fire.
Cleveland Fire Brigade previously confirmed it sent three fire engines to the scene and used two hose reel jets to douse the flames.
A spokesperson said: “We got the first call at 9.35am to reports of a house fire.
“We had three appliances that attended, one from Grangetown and two from Middlesbrough. We got the stop message at 11.16am.
“We used four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets at the scene.”
