The New York Yankees reached the halfway point on pace for 96 victories, but some of their recent showings did not reflect a team holding the best record in the American League.

New York attempts to avoid a third straight loss Saturday when they visit the Boston Red Sox, who are seeking three straight home wins for the second time this season.

The Yankees are 12-10 since losing Aaron Judge to a fractured right rib, but the past week is different from their showing in the first few weeks without their captain. New York won nine of the first 13 games without Judge but heads into Saturday with six losses in nine games and trying to avoid three straight losses for the second time in the past week.

New York is hitting .211 in its past nine games after going 3-for-30 in Friday’s 6-1 loss. Spencer Jones had the lone hit in seven innings off left-hander Payton Tolle while Anthony Volpe and Jasson Dominguez had the other hits. It marked the sixth time this season the Yankees were held to three hits or fewer.

“It’s not like we were smoking the ball,” manager Aaron Boone said after the Yankees fell to 48-33. “You’re going to have those nights. It’s a good pitcher executing. It can be a tough game sometimes. Obviously just had a hard time struggling to mount anything, but no issue with where our preparation and focus (is). We just got beat tonight.”

The Red Sox won three straight home games April 7-8 when they beat Milwaukee and April 17 when they beat Detroit. Boston is 14-25 at home, and Friday marked the 11th time they scored more than five runs at home.

Willson Contreras helped the Red Sox score five or more runs for the fourth straight game with an RBI single and his 17th homer. Contreras homered after entering Friday with five hits in his previous 38 at-bats on the heels of a 15-for-41 (.366) showing in an 11-game span from June 2-14.

Boston’s pitching also has produced a quality start of six innings and three runs or fewer in nine straight games after Tolle retired the first 16 hitters and allowed three baserunners.

“It’s great,” Boston interim manager Chad Tracy said. “The at-bats have been really great these last two days, but watching those guys go out there and consistently pitch six innings or into the seventh is pretty impressive.”

Left-hander Jake Bennett (1-3, 3.71 ERA), who is taking the rotation spot of Brayan Bello, pitches for Boston and faces the Yankees for the first time. Bennett’s contribution to Boston’s quality start streak was six scoreless innings with nine strikeouts in a no-decision on Monday in Colorado.

Gerrit Cole (2-2, 3.62), who is coming off his worst outing since returning from reconstructive elbow surgery, starts for the Yankees. Cole allowed season highs of five runs and nine hits in 4 1/3 innings while throwing 89 pitches during a 5-3 loss at Detroit on Monday.

Cole is 7-6 with a 5.23 ERA in 19 career starts against the Red Sox. At Fenway Park, the veteran right-hander is 2-3 with a 5.52 ERA in eight starts.

Pakistan signed off from the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup with a convincing 37-run victory over the Netherlands at the County Ground on Saturday, producing a disciplined bowling display to bowl out the tournament debutants for just 89 in 18 overs.Captain Fatima Sana led from the front with an outstanding spell, finishing with figures of 3-12, including a remarkable triple-wicket maiden that put the game beyond the Netherlands’ reach. Ayesha Zafar provided excellent support by claiming 3-13 as Pakistan wrapped up their campaign on a winning note to finish fifth in Group A.Chasing Pakistan’s target, the Netherlands made an encouraging start through Heather Siegers, who played positively from the outset. The opener struck five boundaries while taking on Sadia Iqbal, Fatima Sana and Diana Baig, racing to 24 from just 16 deliveries. However, Pakistan struck back when Diana deceived Heather with a slower delivery that trapped her lbw. The decision was upheld after the DRS confirmed the on-field call. The Netherlands suffered another setback soon after when Phebe Molkenboer was run out for eight following a sharp direct hit from Eyman Fatima at short fine leg. Sterre Kalis then joined captain Babette de Leede in an attempt to steady the innings, but Pakistan’s spin attack gradually tightened its grip. Nashra Sandhu and Tuba Hassan dried up the scoring opportunities, and Sterre eventually departed for 12 after chopping Nashra onto her stumps while attempting a cut shot.Babette continued to fight alongside Robine Rijke as the pair relied mainly on singles and twos to keep the chase alive. Babette found the boundary on a few occasions, including twice against part-time spinner Ayesha Zafar. However, Pakistan’s bowlers maintained excellent control, and Ayesha soon turned the match decisively in her team’s favour. She trapped Robine lbw before having Sanya Khurana stumped without scoring and then removed Frederique Overdijk, who sliced a catch straight to cover for six.Any hopes of a late revival disappeared after a bizarre run-out involving Iris Zwilling. Babette’s straight drive ricocheted off her batting partner at the non-striker’s end, leaving Iris stranded midway down the pitch. Ayesha reacted quickly to gather the ball and throw it to the wicketkeeper, completing the unusual dismissal. With the lower order exposed, Fatima Sana finished the job in style. The Pakistan captain dismissed Babette de Leede, who top-scored with 30, before clean bowling Silver Siegers and Caroline de Lange to complete her superb spell and seal a comfortable victory. Heather Siegers contributed 24 for the Netherlands, but it was not enough to prevent Pakistan from ending their World Cup campaign on a positive note.

Ireland created history on Friday by defeating India for the first time in international cricket, securing a memorable 34-run victory in the opening T20I at Stormont in Belfast. The result came as a major surprise, considering India entered the series as the reigning T20 World Cup champions under new captain Shreyas Iyer. The unexpected result also drew a reaction from former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan, who expressed his shock on social media. “Wow. Didn’t thought I will see this Scoreline of team India vs Ireland. Well Played Ireland,” Pathan wrote on X after the match. After being asked to bat first, Ireland posted a competitive total of 182/9. Captain Lorcan Tucker led from the front with a well-made 50 off 36 balls, while Gareth Delany chipped in with 49 off 32 deliveries. The hosts then produced a disciplined bowling performance to bowl India out for 148 in 18.5 overs. Debutant Matt Hollard starred with figures of 3/28 in four overs and was named Player of the Match, while fellow newcomer Jai Moondra also played a key role in restricting the visitors. For India, Harshit Rana picked up 3/24, while Abhishek Sharma’s explosive 50 off 20 balls was the lone bright spot in the chase.Ireland captain Lorcan Tucker hailed the significance of the victory after the match. “It was like a Test match for a bit. I think it’s pretty special to beat the world champions at home. Credit to the lads. All the work behind the scenes from Cricket Ireland,” he said.Meanwhile, India captain Shreyas Iyer admitted his team fell short but remained optimistic ahead of the second T20I. “Initially, the bowlers were bowling venom. But in between we lost the execution and let them hit us straight down the ground, where the boundaries are smaller. I thought 140 would have been a good score to chase, given the start we had with the ball. But yeah, great start as a captain. Definitely, we are going to forget what happened and there’s a lot to learn from this game. Going to come out all guns blazing in the next game,” Iyer said.

Kylie Kelce throws a beer shot at Jason Kelce’s face after stealing the show as a bartender at Eagles icon’s Beer Bowl

In collaboration with Eagles Autism Foundation, Jason Kelce held his fundraiser competition, the Kelce Beer Bowl, on Thursday at Ocean Drive in New Jersey. This year’s event turned special since it was Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, behind the bar counter. The podcaster showed off her bartending skills shortly after throwing a beer shot at the Eagles icon.

In the latest episode of the “Not Gonna Lie” podcast released on the same day, the mother of four participated in a fun couple challenge. The challenge was mostly for Jason, who had his beer knowledge tested with each shot Kylie threw at his face. Explaining the game to him, the podcaster said:

“So, you literally stand there, and then I would throw a drink, and you would basically like it would hit you, and as it hits you, you would guess what it is.” [Timestamp: 48:23]

Even though Jason was struggling to find the exact name of the first drink thrown at him, he eventually ended up recognizing it as Garage Beer in lime flavor. It’s the same brand that he has invested in alongside his brother, Travis Kelce. Moving forward in the game, Kylie threw seven different shots at Jason, ranging from red wine to pickle juice, and he guessed five of them.

While fans enjoyed the podcast, Kylie accompanied Jason to the fundraiser event. In a viral video, the podcaster was seen slow dancing to Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” while taking care of her bartending duties.

Jason Kelce’s wife Kylie Kelce revealed 1 career path she has been least interested in

Amid active collaborations between many wives and girlfriends of NFL athletes with Sports Illustrated magazine, fans have been curious about Kylie Kelce’s interest in becoming a swimsuit model. In her podcast episode 68 from May 21, she made it clear that she has no interest in pursuing a career in swimsuit modeling.

Shedding light on her reason behind this choice, Kylie said:

“Queen Emma (her podcast producer) tried to ask if it was the top 10 place I had no business being in. I would almost say it’s top three. And I think it goes without saying that if I don’t like having my photo taken clothed. I’m probably not going to like my photo taken naked.”

Kylie’s parenting techniques have often been endorsed by many celebrities. Recently, Kevin Hart doubled down on the podcaster’s take on restricting her daughters’ dating choices.
