It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say Netflix has been one of television’s most reliable sci-fi hubs over the last decade. Between sleeper hits like Sense8 and The OA and the more mainstream success of Altered Carbon and Black Mirror, the streamer has been churning out successful speculative futures and unethical technological procedures for years now. The latest trailer for the last season of Stranger Things only serves as a reminder of just how popular Netflix’s most high-profile sci-fi projects have become, but for all the shows that get their turn in the spotlight, there are just as many hidden gems tucked away in the platform’s vast library. These projects are more obscure but no less compelling, and one in particular combines thought-provoking world-building with sci-fi so intricate it’s sure to delight longtime fans of the genre.
Directed by French filmmaker Audrey Fouché, Osmosis is a 2019 sci-fi drama with eight episodes and a perfect critical score on Rotten Tomatoes. Praised for its relatable premise and self-aware storyline, the series failed to garner widespread popularity upon its release and has subsequently been all but discarded, one of the latest in a long line of sci-fi releases to be unceremoniously forgotten. While Fouché’s series falls short in the audience department, it is through no fault of its own. Filled with unethical experimentation and a future overflowing with unique technology, Osmosis essentially feels like an eight-hour Black Mirror episode, perfect for viewers obsessed with exploring the loose boundary between social progress and the pitfalls of human innovation.
The series revolves around the infamous Vanhove siblings, Paul (Hugo Becker) and Esther (Agathe Bonitzer), self-declared pioneers of neuroscience who have supposedly developed an app that can pair an individual with their actual soulmate. Promising to connect people more deeply than ever before through technology, this Osmosis is both a life-changing bond and the name of the siblings’ business, which is sent into a tailspin when its investors pull out at the last minute. Spiraling to find a new source of funding and maintain public interest in their product, the series’ plot spans the month before the unprecedented app’s hurried launch, during which time Osmosis must first carry out a beta test of its services on a group of young people desperate for a new source of love.
There are plenty of wrinkles in this plan, such as Esther caring less about Osmosis and more about its potential to save her and Paul’s comatose mother, but Osmosis balances a talented cast with enough startling revelations to keep the series moving at a thrilling pace. Targeted by the humanists, an activist group desperate to keep love organic, as well as Osmosis’ main competitor in the field of virtual love, Perfect Match, Fouché ultimately uses the debate over Osmosis’ existence to expand on the role of technology in her speculative future, drawing in viewers with a realistic portrait of a familiar society growing increasingly dependent on artificial connection. When Paul’s wife and Osmosis partner, Joséphine (Philypa Phoenix), suddenly disappears, however, Osmosis’ founder is ultimately forced to reckon with the true cost of his unconventional intimacy.
It is through relationships like Paul and Joséphine’s that Osmosis is at its best. Aside from the latter’s sudden disappearance and subsequent struggle to set boundaries with her husband, the experiences of Osmosis’ beta testers test the limits of what even the most complex artificial connections can accomplish. The series focuses on three of the 12 testers in particular. First, there is Niels Larson (Manoel Dupont), a 17-year-old sex addict desperate for the kind of personal connection that can convince him to change. Next is Lucas Apert (Stéphane Pitti), a man second-guessing his idyllic romance with his long-term boyfriend, and finally, Osmosis dedicates the most time to Ana Stern (Luna Silva), a beta tester with an ulterior agenda and a woman whose own insecurities have convinced her she will never find a person to accept her.
Although Osmosis’ implants quickly match each tester with a soulmate who makes them happy, cracks in the system don’t take long to emerge. Between Lucas being matched with a toxic ex who cheated on him multiple times and Niels rushing into his romance so fast that he unravels, Osmosis is full of unintended consequences for what superficially appears to be a noble update to the dating game. Fouché’s series remains fascinatingly broad in its messaging, however. With Esther illegally tampering with these three testers’ minds and the testers themselves placing more faith in an artificial intelligence than their own feelings, Osmosis functions as both a critique of unregulated technology and a warning to anyone who would sacrifice their emotional autonomy for an algorithm. Yet, at the same time, cases like Ana’s ultimately prove the technology can also grant hope to those who need it most, resulting in a nuanced investigation of the ecstatic highs and bitter lows of entering Osmosis.
The series’ exploration of synthetic dating makes Osmosis uniquely relatable and grounds what would otherwise be an incredibly dense, abstract series. With falsified memories and an artificial plane of existence created with each Osmosis bond, Fouché’s series had the potential to be endlessly confusing, but Osmosis‘ focus on personal relationships allows it to embody that unique brand of sci-fi that is as insightful as it is approachable. In the age of Tinder, Hinge, Bumble, and countless other popular dating apps, who wouldn’t want to swipe right on an easier method? Combined with Osmosis‘ focus on technological body modification and a runaway AI system, it’s no wonder the show’s best comparisons are series like Black Mirror, as this hidden gem thoughtfully interrogates the most pressing issues of our own time and rapidly accelerating society.
Netflix’s Masterpiece Sci-Fi Series Is Basically ’Black Mirror’s Game-Changing Twin
Find your soulmate with a brain implant… but perfect love comes at a price.
Osmosis also uses its sci-fi premise to comment on how advanced technology can change the very definition of love, and even hinder it in ways modern audiences can instantly recognize. Both Niels’ storyline and Osmosis‘ virtual sex clubs point to a commodification of instant gratification made possible by futuristic headsets, and the unique relationship between Esther and her artificial intelligence, Martin (Vincent Renaudet), further blurs the definition of true attraction. Osmosis doesn’t function as a simple warning about the damaging effects of unrestricted pleasure, but it still depicts the dangerous ways new devices can further enable humanity’s dark side. Even though Osmosis was unfortunately canceled after only one season, audiences can expect a series full of uniquely relatable depth and thoughtful commentary.

Angela Nikolau and Ivan Kuznetsov turned a forbidden climb into a viral engagement, but the romance now comes with court dates, felony charges, and intense scrutiny.
After scaling the Empire State Building antenna and getting arrested, the Netflix-famous climbers are facing questions about security, risk, and whether their dramatic proposal could cost far more than they expected.
The couple at the center of New York’s wildest viral proposal is now dealing with the legal fallout.
According to AP News, Angela Nikolau and Ivan Kuznetsov were arrested after reaching the top of the Empire State Building’s antenna on July 1.
The pair unfurled a banner about love and peace, embraced, took photos, and appeared to get engaged before being taken into custody.
Their stunt quickly moved from social media spectacle to criminal case. ABC7NY reported that the couple appeared in court in Lower Manhattan on July 2 and received supervised release until their next court date on August 24.
They are facing charges including reckless endangerment, burglary, criminal mischief, and other offenses. They did not enter a plea during the brief court appearance.
The case now hinges on more than the romantic image that went viral.
Prosecutors allege the couple made their way into restricted areas of the building and reached the broadcast antenna, far above where the public is allowed.
Euronews reported that access beyond the highest public observation deck requires a key card, according to the court complaint.
Investigators are also looking closely at how the couple allegedly got there. Authorities believe they entered the building the night before and hid inside overnight before heading upward early the next morning.
The criminal complaint also alleged that a lock on a 104th-floor security door had been broken, giving access to the broadcast antenna area.
If prosecutors continue pursuing felony charges, the couple’s next court date could become a major turning point.
For now, Angela Nikolau and Ivan Kuznetsov are not behind bars.
After spending the first night of their engagement in separate holding cells, they were released under supervision. Outside court, they held hands and kissed for cameras, but kept their comments limited.
Their attorney, Jason Krinsky, pushed back against the scale of the charges. Speaking to ABC7NY, he said, “Even the Empire State Building’s own people said that there was no risk or danger to any of the tenants, to any of the guests on the observation deck, or anyone in the building.”
Krinsky also defended the couple’s intention after the court appearance, saying, “They are trying to send a message.”
He added, “As far as what I’ve seen, and I’m sure you have all seen, it was a message of love. You know, that’s a nice thing.”
The defense may frame the incident as reckless but symbolic. Prosecutors, however, appear focused on the alleged security breach and the danger to responders.
Authorities have taken a far less romantic view of the stunt.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch pointed to the danger faced by officers who responded to the scene. Referring to released body camera footage, she told ABC7NY, “As for what I would call the harrowing body camera video that we released last night, recorded by the officers responding to that stunt, it really can take your breath away.”
According to reports, first responders had to wait for the antenna to be powered down before approaching the couple.
That detail could become important if prosecutors argue the stunt created risk beyond the climbers themselves.
The Empire State Building also criticized the unauthorized climb. In a statement reported by Reuters, the building pointed out that it offers an official proposal package for couples who want a dramatic romantic moment without breaking the law.
Part of the public fascination comes from the couple’s history.
Nikolau and Kuznetsov are not unknown thrill-seekers. The pair appeared in the 2024 Netflix documentary “Skywalkers: A Love Story,” which followed their dangerous climbs and relationship.
Their Empire State Building banner read, “When the power of love beats the love of power the world knows peace.”
Ivan Kuznetsov reportedly told police he wanted to “do something special” for their engagement, prosecutors said during the arraignment.
The stunt may have given them worldwide attention, but the next chapter will play out in court rather than on a skyscraper.
Their August 24 hearing could clarify whether prosecutors intend to push the harshest charges, whether the defense can reduce the case, and how much one viral proposal will cost the couple who turned New York’s most famous skyline into their engagement backdrop.
Michael Rubin‘s White Party returned in 2026, and based on all the social media posts, the stars showed out! For those who may be unfamiliar, Rubin’s summer party is one of the hottest tickets amongst the stars of the sports and entertainment industries. It usually occurs on the Fourth of July, but this year Rubin and his team moved the date because it’s rumored that a well-known pop star will be getting married on the holiday. So, who actually showed up for the big event? Keep reading to find out!

In an interview with PEOPLE, Rubin said he and his team decided to change the date of this year’s White Party.
While it wasn’t confirmed that the Fanatics Founder and CEO changed the date due to Taylor Swift’s fairytale wedding to NFL superstar Travis Kelce, he confirmed that the ceremony was factored into the planning process.
“We were debating the dates. We were certainly aware of that date, but we didn’t change it because of that date,” Rubin said. “But we were aware of that date, and we didn’t want to have people have to choose.”

Rubin’s White Party took place on Wednesday, July 1, and he said he wasn’t concerned that the date would keep people from attending. “People come to the White Party no matter when we do it… The White Party is going to be spectacular,” he said about the party he’s been hosting since 2021.
In fact, Rubin said that the stars will be in New York City for a considerable amount of time in July, citing his White Party, Swift’s blockbuster wedding, the World Cup, and his Fanatics Fest, which is rumored to feature LeBron James, Tom Brady, Jalen Brunson, Kevin Durant, John Cena, Serena Williams, Shaquille O’Neal, Jaxson Dart, and more.
“I’ll tell you one thing. I think the stars are going to be in New York from July 1 till July 19. New York’s never seen anything like this,” he said. “You’ve got the White Party, the best party in the world, followed by [Swift’s] wedding a few days later, followed by Fanatics Fest. Oh, and this little thing called the World Cup, which has the finale here in New York… You’ve got the ESPY Awards that moved to the night before Fanatics Fest.”

Major celebrities have attended the invite-only star-studded showdown in the past, like Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck, Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Leonardo DiCaprio, Justin Bieber, Joe Burrow, and more, per Entertainment Tonight.
In 2023, singer Ne-Yo posted about the special event on his Instagram, calling it an “epic night,” while “Bad Girl” singer Usher said it was “worth” stepping outside for.
Super Bowl champion Brady joked that he would need many “electrolytes” to recover, and country singer Kenny Chesney called it “the most insane, bad** party.”
“It’s gonna take a minute for me to recover,” he went on. “Love you guys and I’m not sure I’ve ever had so much fun. Did that really happen?”
According to ESPN, several major celebrities appeared at Rubin’s White Party, including Travis Scott, Quavo, Draymond Green, Justin Jefferson, and Jared McCain. Martha Stewart, Snoop Dogg, Alix Earle, Tate McRae, Alicia Keys, Tyrese Haliburton, Lil Wayne, and Odell Beckham Jr. were also there.
LSU icon Livvy Dunne posted snaps of herself at the glamorous event in an all-white dress and white mules. Her signature blonde hair was in a ponytail. In her carousel of photos, Dunne was dolled up next to Jutta Leerdam, Sophia Graves, and Suni Lee.
Rubin also shared a slew of pictures from the White Party, and many attendees broke their silence about it in the comments.
Snoop Dogg said, “Had a blast 1st time for the dogg,” while Earle said, “The besttttt.” Pacers star Haliburton wrote, “What a time,” and Lindsay Brewer said, “Best time.”
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding weekend is already proving to be every bit as extravagant as fans expected. Ahead of the couple’s massive Madison Square Garden celebration, guests attending Thursday night’s rehearsal dinner reportedly left with a luxurious keepsake that reflected the scale of the highly anticipated event.

According to Page Six, attendees were spotted carrying black velvet boxes embossed with the couple’s initials as they exited the rehearsal festivities. A source told the outlet that each box contained a large champagne flute embellished with real diamonds.
The keepsakes were reportedly packaged with thoughtful details tied to the couple’s love story. Inside the boxes was an image believed to depict the garden featured in Swift and Kelce’s engagement photos, printed on frayed fabric and placed atop a commemorative card.
The presentation was completed with an elegant silver wax seal, adding another personal touch to the already lavish gift.

While Friday’s wedding celebration is expected to draw around 1,000 guests, the rehearsal dinner was reportedly a much smaller affair with approximately 100 attendees. Among those spotted arriving for the event were Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, Selena Gomez, Lena Dunham, longtime Swift collaborator Jack Antonoff, and Swift’s close friend Ashley Avignone.
Other guests included sports broadcaster Erin Andrews and her husband, former NHL player Jarret Stoll, Swift’s longtime publicist Tree Paine, childhood best friend Abigail Anderson, Kelce’s manager Amanda Santa, and longtime friend Reggie “Regrunt” King and his wife, Sarah.
Sports commentator Charissa Thompson was also reportedly in attendance.

As more details emerge about the highly secretive ceremony, a consistent theme appears to be taking shape. Photos obtained by Page Six showed large floral installations being assembled inside Madison Square Garden ahead of the main event. The arrangements reportedly feature oversized pink and peach blooms mixed with lush greenery, while portions of the arena have been illuminated with pink lighting.
Additional reports claim an area inside the venue has been transformed into a forest-like setting complete with trees and carpeting designed to resemble grass. The decor is said to feature dark green and pink accents throughout, along with white lounge furniture, cocktail tables, bars, and a grand white staircase.

According to reports, guests will begin arriving for a cocktail hour on the sixth-floor concourse before the ceremony begins on the arena floor later in the evening. Following the vows, attendees are expected to celebrate well into the early morning hours.
The guest list for the main event is expected to include several of Swift’s closest friends and collaborators, including Ed Sheeran, the Haim sisters, Suki Waterhouse, Cara Delevingne, Mariska Hargitay, and Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. Reports have also indicated that Selena Gomez is expected to serve as one of Swift’s bridesmaids.
As excitement surrounding the wedding continues to build, several vendors have seemingly suggested they played a role in the couple’s big day.
While the claims have not been independently verified, cake designer Julie Deffense recently shared what appeared to be Swift and Kelce’s wedding cake on Instagram. Deffense, who operates between Portugal and Florida, hinted that the elaborate confection traveled more than 1,200 miles to reach the celebration. Alongside a photo of the towering dessert, she wrote, “A very special cake delivery for a very special couple! Can’t wait to share more soon!”
Meanwhile, confectionery company Sticky Lollies also appeared to reveal its involvement with the wedding by posting photos of custom-made candies allegedly created for the couple’s celebration. In the caption, the company thanked the pair directly, writing, “Wedding custom orders are the best! Being apart of peoples special day is so lovely for us. Thank you to Taylor and Travis for their custom order, hope you have a great love story.”

Although the public ceremony is drawing enormous attention, sources told Page Six that Swift and Kelce have already legally tied the knot ahead of the celebration. The couple’s relationship first became public in 2023, and Kelce reportedly proposed last year after approximately two years of dating.
Now, with thousands of flowers filling Madison Square Garden, diamond-studded gifts in guests’ hands, and some of the biggest names in entertainment preparing to attend, what is already shaping up to be one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings in recent memory is finally about to take center stage.

Lemuel Plummer is speaking out after ‘Baddies Gone Wild’ cast member Jadynn Brown filed a lawsuit accusing him of coercing her into intercourse by allegedly promising to make her a star. In a lengthy Instagram statement, the Zeus Network CEO denied the allegations and shared alleged text messages between the two that he says provide additional context surrounding their relationship.
According to the New York Post, Jadynn Brown filed a civil lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court against Zeus Network CEO Lemuel Plummer. The lawsuit filed on July 1 accuses Plummer of sexual assault, sexual harassment, coercion, retaliation, and wrongful termination. Brown alleges Plummer first contacted her in 2023 through direct messages after she auditioned for ‘Baddies Gone Wild’. She claims he later invited her to lunch under the guise of discussing career opportunities.
According to the lawsuit, Plummer used his position as CEO to allegedly pressure Brown into a sexual relationship by promising to make her a reality TV star. Brown claims she initially rejected his alleged advances but later felt she “had no choice” after he allegedly suggested her future with the network depended on it. She also alleges Zeus removed her from ‘Baddies Gone Wild’ and future projects after she ended the alleged relationship. Brown is seeking damages for emotional distress, lost wages, and other relief. The allegations have not been proven in court.
On Thursday, July 2, Plummer took to Instagram to respond to Brown’s lawsuit. In his statement, he said he met Brown in 2023 shortly after his previous relationship ended and insisted their relationship began as a friendship. According to Plummer, Brown repeatedly reached out about joining Zeus and asked about her ‘Baddies Gone Wild’ audition.
“I consistently told her what I tell everyone: if you want an opportunity at Zeus, you have to audition and earn it through the same casting process as everyone else,” Plummer wrote.
Plummer also claimed that Brown was not initially selected for the cast and was considered only after another cast member withdrew shortly before production. According to him, the production team approved bringing her onto the show because of the unexpected vacancy, not because he promised her a role. Plummer claimed Brown began making legal threats after she was not selected for a later season.
Alongside his statement, Plummer shared nearly 20 screenshots of what he says are text message exchanges between himself and Brown. The messages appear to show Brown asking about audition updates and checking on Plummer during the California wildfires.
Other screenshots appear to show Plummer telling Brown that repeatedly contacting him about Baddies was pushing him away. One exchange appears to show Brown apologizing after sending a message that read, “You’ll hear from my attorneys,” and asking him to disregard it. Plummer ended his statement by denying Brown’s allegations. He said he has additional evidence that provides more context. He also said he plans to defend himself through the legal process. Brown has not publicly responded to Plummer’s statement or the alleged text messages he shared.

Roommates, it looks like Spider-Man didn’t find his Mary Jane after all! A representative for Ice Spice is speaking out after social media popped off over viral photos showing her kicking it with Tobey Maguire at Michael Rubin’s All-White party.
Okay, so BOOM! If you’ve been out of the loop, the internet has been asking Ice Spice and Tobey Maguire “What’s tea?” after photos showed them together at Michael Rubin’s All-White party. Fans started assuming they were locking lips since the images show them real close, but turns out that wasn’t the case! ‘Breakfast Club’ host Loren Lorosa says she spoke with Ice Spice’s rep, and they made it clear they “WERE NOT KISSING” at the 4th of July party. In a post she shared on X (formerly Twitter), Loren also says they told her the photos were misleading as Ice and Tobey were just sharing a vape.
Loren doubled down on her comments and slide into The Shade Room to clear up the speculation about Tobey’s arm on Iee’s shoulder and Ice seemingly leaning in, in one pic. She said they were shotgunning the vape, and Tobey’s hand on her arm just showed them greeting each other.
“And to Clarify ..I did ask if the leaning was them shot gunning the vape once I received the statement .. because that lean in and the arm caused the frenzy.. and that’s when I was told the photo caught them greeting each other,” Loren wrote.
After The Shade Room dropped the update about Ice and Tobey, fans in the comment section said they’re still questioning their viral link-up. Meanwhile, others argued that sharing a vape is just as intimate as sharing a smooch.
Instagram user @ms.skyami wrote, “My Spidey senses say that’s cap.”
Instagram user @sierrrame wrote, “So why is he grabbing her arm then? Lemme mind my business 😂😂😂”
While Instagram user @lucid.realms wrote, “Nah Spidey got himself a Mary Jane from the Bronx 😅”
Then Instagram user @sydneieverett wrote, “Sharing a vape? I would’ve rather heard they was kissing.”
Another Instagram user @just.shaebaee wrote, “So you didn’t want to kiss Spider-Man that’s crazy . He got marvel money 😂”
Instagram user @beautifiedtina wrote, “And that just his cousins too right? 😂”
Then another Instagram user @_gleannin wrote, “Ok, so sharing a vape and not kissing, still swapping spit 🤷🏻♀️”
While another Instagram user @doublemintlounge wrote, “Am I the only one who cringed at “shared vape” … I feel like that’s the same thing⁉️👀”
Finally, Instagram user @aprnbeauty wrote, “Whoever was in there, taking pics, won’t be invited back.”
Ice Spice and Tobey Maguire had the internet clocking their link-up at Michael Rubin’s party after photos showed them looking like more than friends. One viral image shows Ice standing right in front of him while he stands close behind her, while another shows him smiling while they’re kicking it. Another flicks shows them chilling near what looks like a balcony.

“If he wanted to, he would” has become one of the internet’s favorite relationship mantras, but who would’ve guessed an iconic landmark would be the latest to chime in with the same advice?
The Empire State Building in New York City is proving it’s not just a well-known backdrop for love stories, it’s got relationship advice to share, too. After two climbers, Angela Nikolau and Ivan Kuznetsov (also known as Ivan Beerkus), got engaged atop the landmark after a dangerous climb, the building’s social media team jumped into action with a viral-worthy message.
After news broke that two climbers were on the top of the Empire State Building flying a flag, people were tuned in to see what would happen next. But what happened next even took news reporters by surprise! When Ivan got down on one knee, the narrative of the shocking moment shifted from a dangerous stunt to a sweet marriage proposal.
The Empire State Building’s social media team decided to take this opportunity to continue to promote proposals at the NYC landmark, and use the shocking experience as a relationship lesson in the process.
“Ladies: If he wanted to, he would… Just maybe on our 86th Floor Observation Deck,” they wrote in a cheeky Instagram post. It didn’t take long for social media users to get in on the action in the comment section.
Las Vegas’ IG account replied, “The bar is now on the 86th floor.” Another account added, “keep your standards high and your proposals (86 floors) higher.” One other wrote, “This is the best New York City response!! NYC or NOWHERE.” Another IG user said, “THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK.”
Let’s start from the beginning of this wild proposal. Two climbers (this wasn’t their first rodeo) decided to scale the Empire State Building to go to the tippy top of it (with no safety gear) and fly a flag that reads, “When the power of love beats the love of power, the world knows peace.” And while many may have thought that was their end goal, Ivan had another goal in mind.
About 30 minutes after they reached the top of the tower, they began to climb down the spire onto a platform where the proposal took place. A few moments after their big relationship moment, the two began to descend and were met by officers at the bottom and taken into custody.
They were both charged with felony burglary, reckless endangerment, and criminal mischief, and also face misdemeanor charges of trespassing, criminal tampering, disorderly conduct, and possession of burglars tools, according to NBC New York.
The couple is known by many from the documentary “Skywalkers: A Love Story,” which shows them doing similar climbing stunts all over the world.
Angela had her IG fans following along on the intense moments in NYC.
She shared, “@angela_nikolau and @beerkus are currently unavailable, and we knew this in advance – so this post was pre-scheduled and is now publishing automatically.” The carousel of photos shows the two at the top with their flag flying, views from the top and the city, and the two kissing while standing at the top.
Many people following along shared their thoughts in the comment section.
Wildly popular content creator Grandma Droniak shared, “Slay.” One person pointed out, “Imagine literally climbing the Empire State Building with an engagement ring secretly on you… like.” Another shared that Ivan now set the bar pretty high, saying, “No man can ever top that engagement, period!” One person asking, “Is that the bare minimum?”
It appears after a quick sweep of the comment section, no one is mad about it! There’s tons of praise, well wishes, and congratulatory messages, such as, “Talk about raising the standard,” “I hope this type of love find you all,” “Legends,” and “This is so iconic,” to name a few.
The Netflix documentary about Ivan and Angela was released in late 2024. While Ivan shared the documentary’s info on his IG page in June of 2024, the Empire State Building stunt brought tons more attention to it with many of the comments being from the past few days.
One viewer shared, “Didn’t know you before the empire state just know great pr stunt! Omg looking forward to see your love story.” Another person wrote, “Birds of the same feather flock together… all the way to the Empire State Building. Talk about taking love to a new heights.” Another asked, “Who is here after watching viral proposal video?”
It appears that their Empire State Building climb is bringing tons of new people to their social media pages and that could translate into many watching the two-year-old documentary now that they know more about it.
If you’re interested in seeing more of their daring climbs, both Angela and Ivan share photos and videos of their stunts on their Instagram pages. Note, if you have a fear of heights, their content may give you some anxiety. They don’t seem to have an ounce of fear in them!
One IG viewer said what many are probably thinking, “You are not normal,” and another added, “The way my anxiety just peaked watching this.”
One question remains — where do they have the wedding after a proposal like that?

Have you gone bowling lately? It’s prohibitively expensive to get a few games in with the family on a Friday night, but we try to get out every couple of months for the love of the game, even if it ends up costing us nearly $200 after food and drinks. But money comes and goes, and you only get one life, so you should spend it with the people who matter. Bowling is great because everybody in my family sucks at it, which helps the kids realize that not everybody is instantly good at everything unless they put in the practice.
That is all to say that the money spent on a family bonding experience is worth it if there are valuable lessons to be taught. Not all bowling alley lessons are created equal, though, which brings us to 1988’s Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama, a horror comedy that’s kind of based on “The Monkey’s Paw,” but mostly just an excuse for sex jokes and gratuitous, cartoonishly violent kills. I’m not saying that it’s a bad thing either, though the 37 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes would have you believe otherwise. Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama does not have a critical score.

It’s not that the movie is unwatchable or terrible. This is simply what you get with a $90,000 budget while trying to lean into shock value. This isn’t a family bowling trip, and there are no teachable moments in sight. I don’t know about you, but that’s exactly what I look for when I’m trying to escape the horrors of modern life with my entertainment choices.

Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama follows three socially awkward frat boys named Calvin (Andras Jones), Jimmie (Hal Havins), and Keith (John Stuart Wildman), who decide that the best way to spend their evening is spying on the neighboring Tri-Delta sorority house. There, Babs (Robin Rochelle), Rhonda (Kathi O’Brecht), and Frankie (Carla Baron) are “initiating” their two newest members, Taffy (Brinke Stevens) and Lisa (Michelle Bauer). The initiation involves the newcomers getting spanked with paddles and covered in whipped cream, something the three frat boys take great delight in witnessing through the living room window.
When it’s shower time, the boys sneak into the house, and in no time whatsoever they’re caught peeping. Dead to rights, they’re used by Babs, Rhonda, and Frankie for the next initiation, or humiliation, ritual. They’re tasked with taking Taffy and Lisa to the nearby bowling alley, located in a mall owned by Babs’ father, to steal a trophy. What they don’t know is that Babs and the rest of the girls plan to mess with them, and maybe even get some good video footage of the prank.

What nobody is prepared for in Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama is Uncle Impie (Dukey Flyswatter), who was trapped inside the trophy and is unleashed into the world when it’s dropped. Impie, as his name suggests, is supposed to be an imp, but he really looks more like a cross between a hairless gremlin and a rubber pit bull. Grateful for being freed, he grants everybody one wish, but like “The Monkey’s Paw,” which inspired this film and countless others before and since, every wish backfires.
For example, Keith wishes to hook up with Lisa, who becomes a complete nymphomaniac, to the point where Keith wants to tap out from exhaustion. If you’ve ever wondered what “too much of a good thing” looks like, you’ll find it here.

Matters continue to escalate as everybody starts dropping like flies in the most insane ways $90,000 can buy. Severed heads roll down bowling alley lanes, doors are electrified, people are killed with paddles, and so on. I’m not going into graphic detail because the kills and scares are genuinely fun, but let’s just say that lots of found weaponry is used, and it’s about as crude as you could imagine.

So what’s the lesson or takeaway after my viewing of Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama? There isn’t one. This is the kind of good, crude fun you watch after family bowling night, when your son drops a 10-pound ball on your foot, spills his soda on the overpriced chicken tenders, and you have to resist the urge to rattle off f-word after f-word in front of countless spectators. This is how you blow off steam after those teachable moments: by not having to experience any more teachable moments for the rest of the day so you’re ready to conquer tomorrow.
Is Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama a great film? It depends on what you’re looking for. If you’re partial to over-the-top horror comedies, you should give it a go. If you look down your nose at low-budget films that are intentionally campy and going for shock value, you’re going to have the absolute worst time watching it. If you occupy both territories, I can assure you this movie is not 37 percent bad, but your mileage may vary.

As of this writing, you can stream Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama for free on Tubi.
