IBM has for over 10 years ago made this BladeCenter H, and it actually still sold today. Not much else server equipment, Can claim the honor. And IBM can also only do this because they have made some super hardware.

My PlayHouse is a channel where i will show, what i am working on. I have this house, it is 168 Square Meters / 1808.3ft² and it is full, of half-finished projects.

I love working with heating, insulation, Servers, computers, Datacenter, green power, alternative energy, solar, wind and more. It all costs, but I’m trying to get the most out of my money, and my time. .

A Bladecenter is good when you need a lot of servers and you can also easy do a VMware HA Cluster

Hi Morten Hjorth Really love you videos and the IBM x3650 server I have four of them now. Can I ask you what do you do with all your servers are you hosting for people or is it just fun? If you don't host or run anything then do the server just sit there doing nothing but make you happy 🙂

Good video and explanation of the different blade models. Are the blades compatible among different vendors (HP, Dell, IBM/Lenovo)?

My PlayHouse, Do you use this machine for rendering, as well? Is it faster than using virtual machines or standalone servers thanks to the interconnects on the blade chassis? I think my electricity bill might sigh in despair if I was to purchase one of these, but I suppose that is one more reason to venture into solar power. Do you ever use any fiberoptic data connections instead of Ethernet to connect storage such as the SAN or NAS to your cluster of servers? SSD's might also handle the heat better without failure in those individual blades, too. I want to try some SSD's for my x3650 M3, and they are getting cheap enough now for 120 and 240GB drives to make it feasible. Thanks for another excellent explanatory video!

And what kind of internet connection do you have?

    Thanks! 🙂

Hi! Thanks for your videos! You mentioned the 4 port switch at the end of the video. I have assembled a bladecenter with 14 blades, the only thing that I am missing is the networking modules. I don't understand is the minimum needed for networking? If I buy the 4 port one, will all the blades have network? Also at what speed, is it 14blades/4gb= 350mb of bandwidth for each blade (in case they are reading data at the same time)? Thanks a lot!

I found a whole pile of these bladecenter H supplies, guy told me 20 bucks each, they all work. Im thinking of buying 2 to make 12v+ @ 244A output bench top power supplies for working on amplifiers. Ive read on the RC forums where they are converting them, usually the much smaller supplies 800-1200w jobs. That isnt enough for me. Anyone have an idea where to find this kind of info for the bladecenter H?

I Made The World's Smallest Server Rack - With UPS and SSD Storage

Having your own home server rack or homelab is really useful, but you have to have a relatively large space to set it up, it generates a lot of heat and can be pretty noisy. So that’s why I built this, the world’s smallest server rack that fits right in on my desk alongside a drink or cup of coffee. In this video, I’ll show you how I made it.
