As time goes on and technology evolves, both in our reality and in entertainment, the caliber of science fiction storytelling has gotten stronger. In fact, as much as we love sci-fi films, television has slowly been bypassing cinema as the place for peak sci-fi content. With the ability to take more time to explain and explore, television’s recent bevy of sci-fi shows is better than ever. The past ten years are complete proof.

The titles on the list are among the best sci-fi shows out there. From epic sci-fi horror thrillers that blew up pop culture to a brand new Star Wars story that rivaled its big screen predecessor. These series have taken us to space, introduced us to extraterrestrial hiveminds, and showed us what living life in a 144-story silo in a dystopian future might be like. Science fiction has pushed the bounds of storytelling to places unimaginable. And we couldn’t be happier.

‘Foundation’ (2021–Present)

As you’ll notice quite often on this list, lifting a project from a source material often leads to excellent content. First up is a series based on novels once believed to be “unfilmable”: Foundation. Based on Isaac Asimov’s epic stories, the three-season thriller chronicles a band of exiles who try to save humanity after Hari Seldon (Jared Harris) predicts the unavoidable collapse of the 12,000-year-old Galactic Empire. The mission is to rebuild civilization. Thus, he creates the Foundation on the remote planet Terminus to preserve human knowledge. The century-spanning story centers on the conflict between the ruling imperial Genetic Dynasty via the clones of Emperor Cleon (Lee Pace), and the Foundation, including Gaal Dornick (Lou Llobell), a prodigy who helps develop the plan, and Salvor Hardin (Leah Harvey), the warden of Terminus, as they navigate the predicted fall. Created by David S. Goyer and Josh Friedman, Foundation balances epic, galaxy-spanning storytelling and staggering visual production value with deeply personal character arcs and intense political philosophy.

Foundation is a masterful and poetic space opera that tackles grand themes like the cyclical nature of empires, psychohistory, destiny, and the survival of human knowledge over thousands of years. The series does a stellar job exploring the tension between science and faith, the nature of power, and whether historical events can be altered. With Asimov’s invention of psychohistory, Foundation has, well, a foundation on which to stand. It’s a daunting tale, but brought to life as a breathtaking screen-space spectacle. While any series opts in for a one-for-one adaptation, the Apple TV series is wonderfully unpredictable. Because it spans hundreds of years and takes unexpected narrative leaps, even fans of the original books are treated to unpredictable twists. With a fourth season in the works with new showrunners Ian Goldberg and David Kob, there is a glorious roadmap to set out on to maintain narrative continuity.

‘Dark Matter’ (2024–Present)

The multiverse narrative device has become a major plot point across all media of late. Some creators have been overwhelmed by it, botching the execution. Others have mastered it, proving just how brilliantly it could work. Dark Matter is the latter. Created by Blake Crouch based on his 2016 novel, the enthralling Apple TV thriller follows Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton), a Chicago physicist who is abducted and thrust into the multiverse. He wakes up in alternate realities where his life choices went differently, and he must fight his way back home through a labyrinth of parallel worlds to save his true family from the most dangerous foe imaginable: himself. A deeply character-driven love story set within a high-stakes multiverse thriller, Dark Matter explores the roads not taken, challenging viewers with a core question: Are you happy in your life?

Dark Matter is a perfect high-concept series that mixes the multiverse mechanic with a deeply emotional, grounded love story. Beneath the science, it is ultimately a story about a man desperately trying to get back to his true family. But as he questions whether it’s a journey worth taking, that’s when Dark Matter becomes truly gripping. The profound questions it raises about happiness, fulfillment, and marriage make it deeply introspective and relatable. Edgerton does a remarkable job playing multiple, vastly different versions of Jason. He leads an extraordinary ensemble which also features Jennifer Connelly and Jimmi Simpson. Crouch has the unique ability to craft his own content for the small screen, translating it flawlessly without risking contradictions or tonal derailments. If you haven’t checked out Dark Matter, now’s the perfect time to binge, as Season 2 is set to drop this August.

‘Fallout’ (2024–Present)

Some video game-to-series adaptations fall flat. Not Fallout! In fact, it’s one of the best of all time. Created by Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, the Prime Video series takes the popular video game franchise and breathes new life into it while maintaining its iconic integrity. Fallout takes place 200 years after a nuclear war, following three main characters who collide in the irradiated ruins of America: Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell), an optimistic Vault-dweller forced to leave her utopian bunker and venture into the lawless “Wasteland” to rescue her father, Hank (Kyle McLachlan); Maximus (Aaron Moten), an idealistic young soldier in a zealous, tech-hoarding military group tries to navigate the ruins while balancing his survival with the rigid rules of his organization; and The Ghoul (Walton Goggins), a centuries-old, radiation-mutated bounty hunter whose backstory bridges the gap between the modern-day wasteland and pre-war America. Blending a bleak retro-futuristic setting with satirical, dark humor, the series explores class disparity in a world where society has collapsed.

While the video game lore and mythology are ever-present, Fallout forges its own identity that allows gamers and series-only viewers an exciting, visceral experience. The world-building is simply unmatched. With three perspectives that intertwine at times. Thanks to the original storyline within the established canon, Fallout has room to breathe while rewarding observant viewers with authentic props, armor designs, and references. Viewers get a chance to see the vast universe that is brilliantly crafted straight from the games. Fallout has emerged as a top-tier sci-fi series thanks to its willingness to play. That stems from the extraordinary ensemble. Whether it’s the main trio, recurring stars like Leslie Uggams and Justin Theroux, or special guests Michael Emerson, Fred Armisen, Kumail Nanjiani, or Macaulay Culkin, everyone brings joy to the hauntingly delightful series. With Season 3 pushing beyond into new games with new stars, including Aaron Paul and Manny Jacinto, it’s going to be something worth tuning in to.

‘For All Mankind’ (2019–Present)

Imagine rewriting the events of one of the most crucial moments in American history where the future goes in an entirely new direction. That’s the premise of Apple TV’s For All Mankind. Created by Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert, and Ben Nedivi, the series dramatizes an alternate history that explores what would have happened if the global space race had never ended. The premise begins in 1969 when the Soviet Union successfully lands the first man on the Moon, dealing a devastating blow to the United States and intensifying the Cold War. By changing a single significant historical event, For All Mankind creates a massive butterfly effect, featuring rapid technological innovation, political intrigue, and an optimistic vision of human perseverance.

For All Mankind is a brilliant “what if” drama. Across each season, the series organically leaps about a decade forward, showcasing how that inciting event reshaped reality. For All Mankind is rooted in character-driven drama, centered on human ambition, sacrifice, and the emotional toll that space exploration and grueling career choices take on the astronauts and their families. Rather than presenting space magic, For All Mankind is solidly rooted in hard science, respecting the laws of fiction. The innate tension in the story then comes from the mechanical realities of spaceflight, including navigating lunar storms, managing orbital mechanics, or dealing with equipment malfunctions. Even though the story is fiction, this makes the events feel factual. Most importantly, the series avoids a simple “good guys vs. bad guys” trope. The Cold War extends into space, but treats Russian and American characters with equal nuance. Now, the exploration from the other perspective is explored in the acclaimed spin-off, Star City.

Your Fate Has Been Calculated
You’d Survive In…

Your answers point to the world your instincts were built for. This is the universe your temperament, your survival instincts, and your particular brand of stubbornness were made for.

The Resistance, Zion

The Matrix

You took the red pill a long time ago — probably before anyone offered it to you. You’re a systems thinker who can’t help but notice the seams in things.

  • You’re drawn to understanding how the system works before figuring out how to break it.
  • You’d find the Resistance, or it would find you — your instinct for spotting constructed realities is the machines’ worst nightmare.
  • You function best when you have access to information and the freedom to act on it.
  • The Matrix built an airtight prison. You’d be the one probing the walls for the door.

The Wasteland

Mad Max

The wasteland doesn’t reward the clever or the well-connected — it rewards those who are hard to kill and harder to break. That’s you.

  • You don’t need comfort, community, or a cause larger than the next horizon.
  • You need a vehicle, a clear threat, and enough fuel to outrun it — and you’re good at all three.
  • You are unsentimental enough to survive that world, and decent enough — just barely — to be something more than another raider.
  • In the wasteland, that distinction is everything.

Los Angeles, 2049

Blade Runner

You’d survive here because you know how to exist in moral grey areas without losing yourself completely.

  • You read people accurately, keep your circle small, and ask the questions others prefer not to answer.
  • In a city where humanity is a legal designation rather than a feeling, you hold onto something that keeps you functional.
  • You’re not a hero. But you’re not lost, either.
  • In Blade Runner’s world, that distinction is everything.

Arrakis

Dune

Arrakis is the most hostile environment in the known universe — and you are precisely the kind of person it rewards.

  • Patience, discipline, and political awareness are your core strengths — and on Arrakis, they’re survival tools.
  • You understand that the long game matters more than any single victory.
  • Others come to Dune and are consumed by it. You’d learn its logic and earn its respect.
  • In time, you wouldn’t just survive Arrakis — you’d begin to reshape it.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars

The galaxy far, far away is vast, loud, and in a constant state of violent political upheaval — and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

  • You find meaning in being part of something larger than yourself — a cause, a crew, a rebellion.
  • You’d gravitate toward the Rebellion, or the fringes, or whatever pocket of the galaxy still believes the Empire’s grip can be broken.
  • You fight — not because you have to, but because standing aside isn’t something you’re capable of.
  • In Star Wars, that willingness is what makes all the difference.

‘Silo’ (2023–Present)

No show is more thrillingly claustrophobic than Silo. Created by Graham Yost and based on Hugh Howey‘s novels, Silo is set in a dystopian future where a community lives in a giant underground silo with 144 levels. The residents are governed by strict rules and believe the outside world is a toxic, ruined wasteland. Engineer Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) becomes embroiled in the mystery of the past and the present as she seeks to uncover the dark, murderous conspiracy behind their existence. The more she investigates, the more she unravels, which extends deep into the toxic wasteland outside. A brilliant mystery box that continues to expand the universe’s lore season by season, Silo is a fight for survival after a lie to survive.

Silo is a standout Apple TV series that’s built on extreme dread and slow-burning tension. Silo unleashes a bevy of questions that you want answers to, allowing you to stick around for the addictive thriller. Each episode unravels another layer of the conspiracy without feeling rushed. And now, each season unleashes even more depth. Silo thrives on world-building in the sense that it captures the past in a terrifying manner. Because technological evolution has been halted in the silo, its inhabitants rely on recognizable mechanical tools, making the futuristic society feel tangible and real. The story resonates because it’s a human story about being stuck in an inhumane society. Whether hero, villain, or morally in between, each character is richly crafted. Ferguson leads a sensational ensemble that included, throughout its run, Rashida Jones, David Oyelowo, Common, Tim Robbins, Harriet Walter, Steve Zahn, and many more. Now in Season 3, Silo is a must-watch.

5

‘Stranger Things’ (2016–2025)

Very few shows took over the world quite like Stranger Things. One of the biggest Netflix shows in history, the Duffer Brothers‘ creation is set in the 1980s and follows the residents of a fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, as they uncover a web of secret government experiments and battle terrifying monsters from a parallel, nightmarish dimension known as “The Upside Down.” Following the disappearance of a young Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), his mother, Joyce (Winona Ryder) and local cop Jim Hopper (David Harbour) search for him as his friends stumble upon a girl with psychokinetic powers named Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). Over the course of five seasons, the adults, teens, and kids must repeatedly save their town from the growing horrors of this dark realm. The sci-fi horror series is a love letter to pop culture, blending a Steven Spielberg-style coming-of-age adventure with the horrors of a Stephen King supernatural thriller.

Stranger Things, at its core, is all about loyalty, bravery, and the trauma of growing up in a world where ordinary people are forced to confront impossible evils. And they do so with a happily ever after. The series brilliantly balances high-stakes concepts with a deeply relatable, character-driven narrative. The supernatural elements are infused into the truly heartfelt human themes. For those who watched the series from the start grew up with the characters, watching their enduring bonds of friendship on and off-screen. The world-building is precisely structured with clear sci-fi and fantasy rules. Though you may shake your head at the events as they unfold. Stranger Things revolutionized streaming culture forever.

4

‘Dark’ (2017–2020)

Don’t sleep on foreign language series! One of the most underrated sci-fi series on Netflix is Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese‘s three-season thriller, Dark. Dark tells the story of four interconnected families in the town of Winden, where a child’s disappearance unveils a sinister, generation-spanning time-travel conspiracy. The story centers on Jonas Kahnwald (Jonas Gerzabek, Louis Hofmann, Andreas Pietschmann, and Dietrich Holllinderbäumer) as he uncovers the town’s secrets, navigating deterministic time loops, the 33-year cycle, and an apocalypse to prevent a tragic, knotted fate. Capturing the existential implications of time and its effects on human life through the bootstrap paradox, Dark delivers a perfectly plotted time-travel story rooted in deep philosophical questions about human nature, destiny, and free will.

Many mystery box series play with plot as they go along. Dark was intricately structured before the show even began shooting. In doing so, every twist, reveal, and paradox links back together, making it a wonderfully rewarding series. That said, it requires close viewer attention. Missing anything may require a rewind. The series sees a grounded approach to time travel in which the concept of fixed, casual loops where the past and future mutually influence one another. This lends itself to a tragic, fascinating tone that tackles profound themes of determinism. Dark is flawless.

3

‘Pluribus’ (2025–Present)

Only one season in and Vince Gilligan‘s newest creation is already taking science fiction by storm. Pluribus is slowly rising to the top as Apple TV’s brightest. The story centers on an Albuquerque novelist named Carol Sturka (Rhea Seehorn), who is one of the few humans mysteriously immune to the “Joining,” an alien virus that merges humanity into a peaceful, content hive mind. Carol’s cynicism and refusal to reform causes her to fight to reverse its effects as she meets a small group of fellow unaffected. A brilliant dissertation on grief and isolation, Pluribus serves to make us ponder what happens to purpose, art, and meaning when there is no longer friction, cultural clash, or individual friction.

Rather than play into easy dystopian tropes, Pluribus forces the audience to question whether peace and happiness are worth it if free will and individuality are stripped away. The philosophical depth is truly unmatched. Gilligan infuses his signature style into the series. It’s perfectly paced, featuring stunning cinematography, all while balancing psychological dread and dark humor. Seehorn is better than ever, leading the series, taking on the deeply flawed and reluctant protagonist navigating her new reality. That said, the breakout performance comes from Karolina Wydra as Zosia, the mouthpiece of the Others and Carol’s chaperone. Pluribus‘ first season fed us, but we have an appetite for more. And, based on where we think the story might head, we’ll be fully served in Season 2.

2

‘Andor’ (2022–2025)

Diego Luna as Cassian Andor looking behind in 'Andor' Season 1.

The galaxy far, far away has expanded beyond the big screen thanks to Disney+. There have been a handful of Star Wars series, but the standout that fires on all cylinders is none other than Andor. Created by Tony Gilroy, Andor serves as a prequel to the anthology film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which itself is a prequel to the original Star Wars trilogy. The story follows Rebel spy Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), a cynical, revolution-averse thief whose sole focus is his own survival. As he witnesses the Empire’s casual cruelties and exploitation, he transforms from a reluctant scavenger into a passionate Rebel hero. Far from a space fairy tale, Andor captures the harsh, morally grey sacrifices required to fight a tyrannical regime. Andor brings further intrigue into the greater Star Wars mythology and lore.

Andor stands out among other Star Wars entries as a masterclass in science fiction storytelling. In addition to the general tropes that root it in the genre, Andor is also grounded as a mature political thriller. Andor showcases the Galactic Empire as a terrifying, bureaucratic machine of oppression. In turn, Andor depicts the brutal compromises required to build a successful rebellion, in which not even the greatest of heroes can make it out alive. Alongside Luna, the ensemble is one of the best in the galaxy, with the likes of Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Stellan Skarsgård, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough, and Genevieve O’Reilly taking on the Rebels and the Empire. Who is the hero, and who is the villain? That’s the ambiguity that propels the story. Andor has its own identity, and yet feels completely a part of the Star Wars universe. If you have to pick one Star Wars show to watch, pick Andor.

Celebrated for the brilliant execution of its masterful high concept and sharp satire of corporate work culture, Severance remains a complete television game-changer. Created by Dan Erickson and primarily directed by Ben Stiller, Severance follows the lives of employees at Lumon Industries who have voluntarily undergone a medical procedure called “severance” to separate their memories. At work, they are called “innies,” who have no recollection of the world outside. At home, they are called “outies,” where they have no memory of the action at work. Led by Mark Scout (Adam Scott), the “innies” begin to question their trapped existence, sparking a rebellion as they uncover a sprawling, sinister corporate conspiracy about what their work actually entails. Seamlessly blending elements of sci-fi with workplace antics, conspiracy mystery, and psychological thriller, Severance is perfect as perfect can be.

Rather than typical sci-fi tropes, Severance goes where no shows have gone before. The usage of the severance chip creates a newfound exploration of themes of bodily autonomy and human exploitation. In turn, Severance further explores the absurdity of modern office environments, in which the mysterious Lumon Industries operates as a cultish dystopia that fronts as caring for its workers while it actually treats them as disposable cogs in an endless, brutalist maze. Severance features immaculate world-building thanks to its surrealist retro-futuristic aesthetic. Every visual, set piece, and bizarre act builds up to a captivating lore. Severance boasts one of the best ensembles, including Scott, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Tramell Tillman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, Patricia Arquette, and more. It’s best to get in and watch Severance so you’re not out of the loop.

Paris Is Always a Good Idea’s Lacey Chabert on Book Changes

Lacey Chabert Hallmark Movies Ranked Shes Making a List

Hallmark’s Paris Is Always a Good Idea is based on a book — but star Lacey Chabert promises there’s still room for viewers to be surprised.

“I can’t answer for the book fans, but I do think they will be happy with this adaptation,” Chabert, 43, exclusively told Us about how the limited series brings Jenn McKinlay‘s novel to life.

Chabert hinted that there were “some changes that had to be made in the adaptation,” adding, “But I think it’s such a rich story. The characters that people fell in love with in the book are represented so well in this.”

The six-part show follows nonprofit executive Chelsea (Chabert), who goes to Paris with rival Knightly (Scott Michael Foster) to secure a donation. Through a message from her late mother — and support from her family — Chelsea decides to revisit three past loves across Ireland, Paris and Spain.

Lacey Chabert has become one of Hallmark’s biggest stars after making her network debut in 2010 — and she has no plans to stop anytime soon. “These movies mean so much to me. I really am genuine when I say that,” Chabert exclusively told Us Weekly in October 2021. “They’re not just jobs, and I […]

“I am so happy that this is a limited series because it gives us six episodes to tell this story,” Chabert gushed. “And with a movie, you’re limited in the amount of time that you have to do that.”

By expanding the running time, Paris Is Always a Good Idea is able to get viewers even more invested in the love stories at the center of the show. Chabert appreciated the opportunity to dive into Chelsea’s adventure, which is “a very layered” story.

“It’s a romance and it’s a family drama. It’s a beautiful travel story,” she shared. “We get to go to Ireland, Paris and Spain. We’re also dealing with three different timelines, which was really my favorite part of it.”

Chabert continued: “Because I think it’s just human nature to reflect back on your life and ponder about the future. We get to see my character live in all three of those. As an actress, it was really fun to play.”

Paris Is Always a Good Idea did come with its challenges — specifically when it came to filming scenes from every episode at the same time.

Lacey Chabert has earned her spot as Hallmark’s latest “Queen of Christmas,” but it didn’t happen overnight. The actress, 42, made her Hallmark Channel debut with 2010’s Elevator Girl. “We shot all six episodes simultaneously. So we were filming different parts of them at all times,” Chabert recalled. “Scott and I, our very first scene together is one of the more complicated scenes in the show. And we were like, ‘Hi, nice to meet you. Let’s go. Let’s do this difficult scene.’”

The actress praised the work that went into bringing Paris Is Always a Good Idea to life both in front of and behind the scenes.

“We had the most incredible directors and producers, and the writing is so rich and wonderful,” she gushed. “So it just supported us as actors. It’s my job, so I was carrying around that 300-page script and guarding it. You just plot out where you think you’re going to be, but then sometimes scenes take you by surprise and it doesn’t exactly land the way you expected. So you just adjust. But that is the favorite part of my job; it’s a puzzle.”

Gaming as a medium is always evolving and striving to put out the most striking and innovative experiences out there, with each different era of the video game industry having its own standout selection of outstanding games that stand the test of time with overwhelming influence. The 2010s especially proved to be one of the most pivotal times for gaming as a whole, between the rise of games as a service archetype, mobile gaming becoming bigger than ever, and massive technological breakthroughs with the eighth generation of consoles.

However, more than prominent trends and the shifting waves of the industry as a whole, the true importance and impact of the decade always comes back to the quality of the games, with the 2010s having an exceptional collection of masterful video game experiences. From explosive, hard-hitting experiences for hardcore gamers to some of the simplest yet most charming casual games out there, many of these games go beyond simply being great for the decade and are among the most celebrated games of all time.

The God of War franchise has always had a dedicated audience who have fallen in love with its distinct mixture of large-scale action, hack-and-slash gameplay, and the inherent fun of the Greek mythology world. However, 2018’s PS4 reboot of the franchise completely evolved it for a new era, with a larger emphasis on a cinematic story, dynamic characters, and the larger potential of shifting into the mythos of Norse mythology.

The game quickly became one of the cornerstones of PlayStation’s success during the PS4 era, spearheading the approach not just for AAA action games, but showing how the blending of this style of hack-and-slash action could still tell an emotionally layered story. Time has proven it to be the absolute system seller and one of the best games on the PS4’s lineup, as well as a massive leap forward for both God of War and fantasy games as a whole.

For all the focus placed upon explosive and high-energy video games that demand the very best from the player, there’s something quaint and charming about a slower-paced, cozier game that can be more widely appreciated by all. While franchises like Animal Crossing and The Sims have scratched this itch for many, the 2010s premiere example of the very best and coziest experience is Stardew Valley, a brilliant farm life simulation game inspired by games like Harvest Moon and brought to life by solo developer ConcernedApe.

The game has an exceptional understanding of the simple joys and satisfaction of growing a virtual farm and creating something beautiful out of what was originally nothing. Combined with some rich writing and characterization from various relationships you can build with the townspeople as well as being able to play through the full game with online cross-platform multiplayer, Stardew Valley is the definitive farm sim game that has only gotten more successful with each passing year.

One of the final prominent releases for the PS3 that acted as a swan song for this era of PlayStation gaming, Naughty Dog’s magnum opus The Last of Us has largely become the icon for exceptional original storytelling in video games. It takes a classic zombie-adjacent post-apocalyptic world and creates truly impactful emotional depth thanks to its layered central characters and the bond that grows between them.

Further amplified by some great moment-to-moment gameplay that utilizes the managing of limited resources and danger around every corner, The Last of Us proves to be one of the most immersive and cinematic video game experiences not just of the 2010s, but of all time. Even over a decade after its release, the game is still heralded as one of the most important and pivotal in PlayStation’s history and an absolute classic of the era.

Two of the most dominant trends that started in the 2010s and continue with massive strength well into the modern day are Battle Royale games and live-service games that receive continuous updates so they never die. While many games in the 2010s found great success with this model, none come close to the complete cultural domination of Fortnite Battle Royale, which still has a massive, dedicated player base and frequent content updates to this day.

While the game may not be at the level of absolute unavoidability as it was when it first released, its myriad of interesting game modes, live events, and overwhelming collaborations still make it the absolute gold standard for live-service games. While some gamers still aren’t a fan of this style of live-service game (especially with how many other games try and fail to replicate its success), it’s hard to deny just how well and consistently Fortnite has maintained relevancy even almost a decade after its debut, even with a few hiccups here and there.

The original Red Dead Redemption was easily one of the most celebrated games from Rockstar Studio’s illustrious lineup, providing the distinct open world and vast possibilities of a Grand Theft Auto-style shooter in the intricate world of the Wild West. However, the long-awaited sequel, Red Dead Redemption 2, managed to up the ante and polish considerably, creating one of the most visually striking and well-crafted games of all time.

This masterful video game prequel takes the signature strengths and charm of the original game and supercharges them to the latest technological possibilities, still having some of the most impressive graphics in any AAA game and an attention to detail that is completely unmatched. This, combined with some satisfying gameplay and top-notch character writing, has made it one of Rockstar’s most successful games and the face of AAA quality in the 2010s.

Your Partner Has Been Assigned
Your Perfect Partner Is…

Your answers have pointed to one action hero above all others. This is the person built to have your back — for better or considerably, spectacularly worse.

Rambo

Your partner doesn’t talk much, doesn’t need to, and will have assessed every threat in your immediate environment before you’ve finished your first sentence. John Rambo is not a man of plans or politics — he is a force of nature shaped by survival, loyalty, and a capacity for endurance that goes beyond anything training can produce. He will not leave you behind. He has never left anyone behind who deserved to come home. What you get with Rambo is the most capable, most quietly ferocious partner imaginable — one who has been through things that would have broken anyone else, and who chose to keep going anyway. You’ll never need to ask if he has your back. You’ll just know.

James Bond

Your partner will arrive perfectly dressed, perfectly briefed, and with a cover story so convincing it’ll take you a moment to remember what’s actually true. James Bond is the most professionally dangerous person in any room he enters — and the most disarmingly charming, which is the point. He operates in a world of layers, where nothing is what it appears and every advantage is used without apology. You’ll never be bored. You’ll occasionally be furious. But when it matters — when the mission is genuinely on the line and the margin for error has collapsed to nothing — Bond is exactly the partner you want. He has survived things that have no business being survivable. He does it with style. That is not nothing.

Indiana Jones

Your partner will know the history, the language, the cultural context, and exactly why the thing everyone else is ignoring is actually the most important thing in the room. Indiana Jones is brilliant, reckless, and occasionally impossible — but he is also one of the most resourceful, most genuinely knowledgeable partners you could find yourself beside. He approaches every situation with a scholar’s eye and a brawler’s instinct, which is an unusual combination and a remarkably effective one. He hates snakes and gets personally attached to objects of historical significance, both of which will slow you down at least once. It doesn’t matter. What Indy brings is irreplaceable — and the adventures you’ll have together will be the kind people write books about. Assuming you survive them.

John McClane

Your partner was not supposed to be here. He does not have the right equipment, the right information, or anything approaching the right odds. He has a sarcastic remark and an absolute refusal to accept that the situation is as bad as it looks. John McClane is the greatest accidental hero in the history of action cinema — a man whose superpower is stubbornness, whose contingency plan is improvisation, and whose capacity to absorb punishment and keep moving would be alarming if it weren’t so useful. He will complain the entire time. He will make it significantly more chaotic than it needed to be. And he will absolutely, unconditionally, without question come through when it counts. Yippee-ki-yay.

Ethan Hunt

Your partner has already run seventeen scenarios by the time you’ve finished reading the briefing, and the plan he’s settled on involves at least two things that should be physically impossible. Ethan Hunt operates at the absolute edge of human capability — technically, physically, and intellectually — and he brings the same relentless precision to protecting his partners that he brings to dismantling organisations that shouldn’t exist. He is not easy to know and he will never fully tell you everything. But he will carry the weight of the mission so completely, so absolutely, that your job is simply to trust him — and the remarkable thing is that trusting him always turns out to be the right call. The mission will be impossible. He will complete it anyway.

‘Portal 2’ (2011)

Building upon the already exceptional first-person puzzle mechanics of the original Portal, Portal 2 ups the ante and the scale with more intricate puzzles, more dynamic storytelling, and some of the best writing in any video game. The sequel really didn’t need to do a lot to live up to the stature of the original, as simply having more engaging portal puzzles was enough to satiate gamers looking for more Portal greatness.

However, between the exceptional writing of new characters like Wheatley (Stephen Merchant) and Cave Johnson (J.K. Simmons), new puzzle mechanics like the various gels, and a fleshed-out co-op multiplayer mode, Portal 2 stands tall as the definitive Portal experience and one of Valve’s best games. There’s a deep passion and quality inherent to every second of the game that has helped it sustain an impactful legacy as one of the very best puzzle games ever made and a true feat of video games as an art form.

The Elder Scrolls franchise, one of the largest and most prominent faces in the world of high fantasy video games and action RPGs, reached massive new heights following the success and impact of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The game completely revolutionized the action RPG genre, with its wide array of content and ways to go about the vast world of Tamriel making it one of the most expansive and infinitely replayable single-player video game experiences of all time.

The game delivers exactly what one wants out of a high-fantasy action RPG, with great expression and possibilities in terms of what type of character you want to play as and how they navigate and interact with the world. No two playthroughs of the game feel the same, making it one of the most timeless and well-crafted game experiences that not only defined the decade, but would define the entire genre in the wake of its success.

5

‘Undertale’ (2015)

Indie games were certainly prominent before the 2010s, but increased ease of access for small developers to be able to create games led the way for many exceptional indie games to be released and become major hits that stand toe-to-toe with and surpass AAA experiences. While many great indie games would define the 2010s, the very best and most influential is arguably Undertale, the brilliantly crafted, self-aware RPG that mixes bullet hell gameplay with RPG mechanics and oodles of charm and comedic wit.

Toby Fox‘s love letter to quirky RPGs of the past became an overwhelming icon of indie gaming as a whole, with its incredibly memorable characters and layered meta storytelling and themes making it one of the must-play experiences of the 2010s. Its distinct type of humor and charm has given it an overwhelming fanbase over the years, as well as an overwhelming influence on indie games and especially indie RPGs.

‘The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ (2017)

Each generation of gaming manages to have a legendary Zelda game that helps revolutionize and pave the way for adventure games as a whole, with the unmistakable Zelda masterpiece of the 2010s being The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This massively acclaimed video game masterpiece helped usher in a new era of success for Nintendo following the diminishing returns of the Wii U era in the early 2010s.

This exceptional open-world adventure game helped massively popularize the prospects of creating a vast, expansive open world in combination with other genres and styles of game. In combination with sheer versatility and choice in how the player goes about the progression of the game, this made it one of the most influential games of the era and of all time. The game has now become the face of what the Zelda franchise is for many people, ushering it into a new era in glorious execution.

3

‘Dark Souls’ (2011)

The Soulsborne games have proven to be massively influential icons of modern hardcore gaming, with their overwhelming difficulty and demand for pinpoint execution making for some of the most satisfyingly cathartic video game experiences imaginable. While each Soulsborne game is iconic and effective in its own right, the original Dark Souls is arguably the best of the 2010s offerings and is easily the most influential and impactful in terms of wider video game history.

The brilliance inherent to the design of Dark Souls is that, while it is infamous for its harsh difficulty, it is far from the only thing that defines the game’s strength. There is a rich world of mythos, a multitude of different gameplay styles that allow the player to adapt and choose their own personal playstyle, and a truly special dark fantasy design that makes each enemy that much more striking.

Mel Gibson’s Most Divisive Movie Officially Returns With New 2026 Release

Published

on

the passion of the christ

Whether it’s entirely behind the camera on the religious-themed World War II movie Hacksaw Ridge or as director, producer, and star of the multi-Academy Award-winning Braveheart, Hollywood icon Mel Gibson is never far from an epic feat of filmmaking. In 2004, the headline-maker delivered the most controversial film of his career so far with The Passion of the Christ, which fueled widespread debate due to graphic violence and even accusations of antisemitism from those who believed the film blamed Jewish authorities for the crucifixion.

Despite this controversy, or perhaps even powered by it, The Passion of the Christ was an enormous box office hit, even becoming the highest-grossing biblical and Christian-themed movie of all time. In total, against a reported production budget of just $25 million, the film returned an eye-watering $622 million worldwide. Now, 22 years later, The Passion of the Christ is officially returning to theaters between September 10 and September 17, courtesy of Lionsgate and Fathom Entertainment.

The film is newly remastered in stunning 4K with Dolby Atmos sound, and features a new color pass supervised by original Academy Award-nominated cinematographer Caleb Deschanel. This chronicle of the final hours of Jesus’ life rocked a generation of moviegoers more than two decades ago, and now an entirely new group of viewers will have the chance to see this moment in cinema history on the big screen. It has now been announced that tickets for this special return to theaters are officially on sale, with purchase available via this link.

Spider-Man Producer Asked Tom Holland and Zendaya Not to Date

Published

Zendaya and Tom Holland s Relationship Timeline

Spider-Man: Brand New Day producer Amy Pascal confirmed she asked Tom Holland and Zendaya not to date when they took over the iconic roles of Peter Parker and MJ.

“Tobey [Maguire] and Kirsten [Dunst] dated. Andrew [Garfield] and Emma [Stone] dated,” Pascal said while speaking with BBC News in an Instagram video shared Thursday, July 30. “MJ and Peter just always fall in love. There’s nothing you can do about it.”

Holland, 30, and Zendaya, 29, joined the superhero universe in 2017 with the premiere of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Rumors quickly swirled that a romance was brewing between the pair off camera. The costars initially kept their relationship private before it was confirmed with PDA photos in 2021.

Four years later, news broke that Holland and Zendaya were engaged after the actress was seen wearing a diamond ring on her left hand at the 2025 Golden Globes. The couple quietly tied the knot — a secret that was spilled by Zendaya’s stylist Law Roach earlier this year.

“The wedding has already happened. You missed it,” he teased to Access Hollywood in March. “It’s very true.”

Holland finally addressed the wedding rumors during an Esquire UK profile published in June. When asked if he had to explain anything to his family about the viral AI-generated photos of him and Zendaya at a wedding, the actor quipped, “No, because they were all there.”

The Impossible star previously opened up about why the pair prefer to keep their relationship out of the spotlight, telling The Hollywood Reporter in 2023, “Our relationship is something that we are incredibly protective of and we want to keep as sacred as possible. We don’t think that we owe it to anyone, it’s our thing, and it has nothing to do with our careers.”

Since tying the knot, the couple — and frequent costars — have shared more rare insight into their lives at home. A second wedding ceremony, however, likely won’t be in the cards.

“I don’t think so,” Roach told Complex in a recent interview. “I think that people should congratulate them. It’s two young, beautiful, successful people that are in love, and they had a private wedding, and they got away with it. And I think people should just, you know, congratulate them.”

Roach further shared his appreciation for Holland and Zendaya’s love story while attending the premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day in Los Angeles.

“If these are two people that you look up to or that you love their work, just celebrate them being together and happy,” he said, adding that any rumors about a second wedding are “definitely not true.”

In a recent Instagram update, Rodriguez gave fans a peek at her and Ronaldo’s luxury getaway to Majorca. The numerous slides showed the power couple aboard a mega yacht as they watched the ocean and traveled from location to location in the soccer star’s private jet.

One particular frame, however, caught viewers’ attention. While enjoying a meal aboard the jet, Ronaldo and Rodriguez posed wearing huge matching diamond rings and watches, with her having gold detailing.

For the outing, the model stunned in a low-cut black tank top from her brand that flaunted her cleavage underneath an unbuttoned jacket, paired with blue skinny jeans and black stiletto pumps. She added a pop of color with a bright red baseball cap.

Although the former Manchester United player’s face wasn’t shown in the carousel, he was photographed walking his children to the waiting jet.

In the accompanying caption, she appreciated supporters before adding, “These days I am enjoying a little vacation, inspiring myself and creating with a lot of excitement.”

This comes amid rumors that the couple is set to exchange vows at the Quinta da Regaleira estate in Sintra, a cultural landscape. According to the Daily Mail, a Portuguese TV host fueled the speculation, claiming the soccer legend booked the venue.

However, the famous tourist attraction site is open to the public, casting doubts on the report. The beloved artist is yet to address the rumors or reveal any plans for an upcoming wedding ceremony.

Man Detained in Nancy Guthrie Case Threatens to Sue Police

Published

Savannah Guthries Mom Nancy Guthrie Is Missing in Arizona What to Know About the Ongoing Search

A man detained and subsequently released in the investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie is seeking $2.5 million from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department — or he may sue.

An attorney for Carlos Palazuelos and two others filed a notice of claim on Monday, July 27, addressed to the department, Sheriff Chris Nanos and Detective Eric Gieron, alleging that Palazuelos had been wrongfully arrested at gunpoint on February 10 and that a search on his family’s property led to “significant property damage.”

The notice, obtained by AZ Family on Thursday, July 30, claimed Palazuelos was arrested and held “without probable cause for approximately seven to eight hours.” The notice alleged “Carlos’ arrest was made in a public fashion that was intended to damage Carlos’ reputation and subject him to humiliation and suspicion by implicating Carlos in the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie.”

At the same time, a search warrant was executed on Palazuelos’ family home, owned by Josefina Maddox, where a family member, Daniel Maddox, was placed in handcuffs by police, who “led him outside to a van and ordered him to sit on the van’s running board,” according to the notice. “Deputies held Daniel under guard at the van for several hours, where he was not free to leave.”

Palazuelos “was falsely arrested for a crime that he had nothing to do with in a public fashion. Sheriff Nanos, Detective Gieron and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department know that Carlos is an innocent man who had nothing to do with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie,” the claim alleged. “Despite that, they have refused to clear Carlos’ name and have forced him to live under a cloud of suspicion since the time of his arrest.”

Us has reached out to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department for comment.

On February 10, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department told Us that it had “detained a subject during a traffic stop south of Tucson,” adding, “The subject is currently being questioned in connection to the Nancy Guthrie investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.” The department said at the time that it was also conducting a “court-authorized search” of a home in Rio Rico, Arizona.

After Palazuelos was released, he claimed in an interview with ABC15 Arizona’s Ford Hatchett that his car had been pulled over by police and he was told he was being “detained for kidnapping.”

“I asked, ‘The kidnapping of who?’ and they told me this lady … I don’t know her name,” Palazuelos said at the time. “I told [officers], ‘I work in Tucson for GLS. I might have delivered a package to your house, but I never kidnapped anybody.’”

Palazuelos said he was ultimately told he was “free to go” after answering the officers’ questions.

Nancy, the mother of Today show cohost Savannah Guthrie, has been missing for nearly six months. Police believe the 84-year-old was abducted from her home outside of Tucson, Arizona, in the early hours of February 1. No suspects have been identified.

Joseph Alfredo Vasquez Dumarce was identified as the person behind the @yaeyae962 account that went after Ashlee Cole. The FBI task force, Safe Streets, tracked down Dumarce through his email IP addresses and linked them to the username. In the charging documents, he’s accused of threatening that a package would arrive and “blow” her away when she saw it.

“It’s probably best to have the boys there to see as well,” he allegedly threatened. “So much blood everywhere.” “But yours will be quick I promise.” Additional messages said her sons would be “strangled.”
