3 Near-Perfect Series to Binge on Netflix This Week (Aug 24-28)
Dubbed “action-packed but disappointing” in Therese Lacson‘s review for Collider, Outer Banks returned for its fifth and final season last week and immediately stormed to the top of the streaming charts. The return of John B (Chase Stokes), Sarah (Madelyn Cline), Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), and Cleo (Carlacia Grant) for one more season of twists, turns, and laughs was always going to be a hit, with no series currently managing to come close to its popularity on Netflix. But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t other shows worth watching. With that in mind, here are three shows you should binge-watch on Netflix this week.
For more recommendations, check out our list of the best shows and movies on Netflix.

1
‘Yellowjackets’ (2021–Present)
Rotten Tomatoes: 92% | IMDb: 7.7/10
Not only have we been treated to the first teaser footage for Season 4 of the hit series Yellowjackets, but this past week we learned that it will officially debut on Paramount+ on November 20. Ahead of its arrival, whether you’ve watched before or it has thus far passed you by, why not begin a binge of one of the most indulgent, inventive thrillers of the decade on Netflix?
Following a talented high school girls’ soccer team that becomes stranded in the remote Canadian wilderness after a plane crash, Yellowjackets blends a time-weaving story with some truly terrific performances for a series you won’t want to put down. Having earned 10 Primetime Emmy nominations so far, the series is a huge hit with both fans and critics, with the many twists and turns all culminating in one explosive final season this November.
2
‘Revival’ (2025)
Rotten Tomatoes: 90% | IMDb: 6.5/10
Netflix is known for resurrecting plenty of hidden gems, adding them to its catalog and boosting their popularity. The latest to receive this treatment is Revival, which aired last summer on SyFy and has only been available on PVOD since. Starting Monday, August 24, you can stream each of the show’s 10 episodes on Netflix, making for the perfect week-long binge.
This intelligent supernatural series begins on a seemingly normal day in rural Wisconsin, when the dead are suddenly revived. However, they do not reappear in zombie form; instead, they return seemingly exactly how they were before they died. The task of putting the pieces together on this strange puzzle falls to Officer and single mother Dana Cypress (Melanie Scrofano). Also starring Romy Weltman as Martha, David James Elliot as Wayne, Andy McQueen as Ibrahim, and more, this true 2025 gem should be at the top of your watchlist.
3
‘The Four Seasons’ (2025–Present)
Rotten Tomatoes: 82% | IMDb: 7.2/10
One of the best returning shows on Netflix this year so far has been The Four Seasons, and it’s about time you caught up. This adaptation of the 1981 movie of the same name stars Nick (Steve Carell), who, after divorcing his wife of 25 years, Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver), brings his much younger new girlfriend along on a trip with their close-knit, lifelong friendship group, altering the dynamics forever.
This cozy, often hilarious, and always relatable comedy doesn’t just feature Carell and Kenney-Silver; it boasts one of the most exciting ensembles in streaming comedy today, also starring Tina Fey, Will Forte, Marco Clavani, Erika Henningsen, Colman Domingo, Julia Lester, and Ashlyn Maddox. Each of these many stars has perfect chemistry with each other, capturing every eye-roll, awkward glance, knowing smile, and heartfelt moment that comes with lifelong friendship. For a slice of joy this week, don’t miss The Four Seasons.

Bold and Beautiful 2-Week Spoilers Aug 24-Sept 4: Steffy Clashes Hard & Katie Vents Fury!
Bold and the Beautiful spoilers for the two weeks beginning August 24th with Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) fighting because she wants to tell her husband the truth about the cheating. Plus, Katie Logan (Heather Tom) is ranting and irritates several people when she does this.
Also, coming up in the two weeks of August 24th through September 4th, we’re going to see Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown)’s deep regret, RJ Forrester (Brayan Nicoletti) persuading somebody and Melissa Dylan’s (Sydney Bullock) mom, Darcy Dylan (Kelly Sullivan) making a big splash. Let’s jump right in.
Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Ridge Walks in on Carter & Steffy
Monday, August 24th on B&B. Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) and Steffy are caught alone together. This picks right back up from Friday’s episode when Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) walked in on them arguing over whether or not they should come clean to John Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) and Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire) about the cheating.
Ridge busted into the room, and we’ll see if they come clean to him about their drunken hookup, but I kind of doubt it’s going to go that way. Also, on Friday, we had RJ and Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace) at Bikini with Will Spencer (Crew Morrow) and Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock). And RJ told Electra to keep their new youth line a secret. She did tease Will about it and said she and RJ are working on a new project, but she can’t tell him about it.
And this is after Electra said it was a betrayal when Will didn’t tell her about Logan business. So, it’s kind of ironic. Will and Dylan have a special night alone together. So, it seems like after Will runs into Electra and it doesn’t go well at Bikini, he and Dylan go back to his beach house. They’re swimming and then making out and getting steamy in the outside shower. And those two make love this week.
B&B Spoilers: RJ Pitches New Line
Tuesday, August 25th on Bold and the Beautiful. RJ is pitching his new youth line concept to Ridge. And of course, we know RJ thinks Electra should be the face while he and Zende Forrester (Delon de Metz) design. RJ’s already got Eric Forrester (John McCook) and Zende on board. And I think it won’t be too difficult to get Ridge on board as well with this concept.
So, I think we’re going to see this new line officially getting off the ground soon. Electra and RJ, they of course want to keep it a secret, but that to me makes me think it’s definitely going to leak out. And I’m hoping that Dylan finds out and she tells everybody at Logan, or at least Will.
Speaking of, Katie’s suspicions about Dylan intensify. Katie shows up to scold Will for being with Dylan. Katie tells Will he’s not going to mend his broken heart with her. Katie’s looking at Dylan like she’s trash. Katie’s telling Will she’s not the answer. And he looks shocked and Dylan just rolling her eyes at his mom.
Bold and Beautiful Spoilers: Dylan Claps Back
Wednesday, August 26th on Bold and the Beautiful, we have Dylan forced to defend her actions. Now, I think this is initially with Katie and then it may continue into a conversation with her mom because Dylan calls her mom Darcy who says she will be to LA as soon as she can get there.
And Dylan thanks her mom. So, she may tell Darcy some of what’s going on. And that may be why she rushes to Dylan’s side because she may tell Darcy on the phone how awful Katie and Electra are being to her because Darcy does not look happy on that phone call.
RJ grabs an opportunity to make a name for himself. So, he’s pitched this new line, Electra by Electra Forrester to Ridge. But what I’m wondering with him trying to make a name is if RJ is trying to get Ridge to make him the lead designer on the line.
And that would really, really upset Zende. We’ve also got Sheila trying to figure out how to move forward with her life without Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan). She’s back from Monaco and Sheila may realize how badly she messed up by following Finn and Steffy.
Bold Spoilers: Deacon Advises Hope
Then Thursday, August 27th on Bold and the Beautiful, we have Deacon offering some fatherly words of wisdom to Hope Logan (Annika Noelle). And this may be about what’s going on with her at Logan and how it ties into other family issues.
Deacon may be advising Hope to have patience with Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) being so angry at her because they’re estranged right now and it’s still upsetting Hope. Also, Dylan faces her past.
This is the day we have actress Kelly Sullivan in LA as Darcy Dylan. I think we see her on the phone call, but then she’s officially in LA on Thursday. So, we will find out much more about Dylan’s past.

B&B Spoilers: Carter Desperate to Keep Steffy Quiet
Then, Friday, August 28th on Bold and the Beautiful, we are going to have Carter trying to keep all of this stuff a secret. And this week, Finn tells Steffy nothing in their future can ever come between them. She still really wants to tell Finn that she and Carter cheated while they were drunk. Steffy doesn’t want to live with this on her conscience. Finn will let it slide. Daphne won’t.
This is just like when Steffy got drunk and slept with Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) after he thought Hope kissed Thomas, but it was him kissing the Hope mannequin. Finn forgave Steffy for that. He’ll probably forgive her for this. But Carter is the one who stands to lose everything. I’m willing to bet Steffy’s marriage will survive. Daphne would ditch her as best friends, but I am quite certain the big deal is she would ditch Carter as her husband.
Also this week, Daphne tells Carter that she modeled their marriage after Steffy and Finn’s marriage, which is kind of wild given what’s going on. So Steffy and Carter’s dirty secret comes to a head by the end of this week. So, Steffy and Carter may be overheard, or it may come to a head in terms of Carter finally convincing Steffy to lock this secret down and forget that night ever happened.
And if Steffy won’t agree, then Carter is going to be very scared of the consequences. So, maybe Steffy will convince him that Daphne doesn’t need to know and that Steffy will just tell Finn and that he won’t tell anybody else. But honestly, Steffy can’t guarantee what Finn will do if Steffy tells him she cheated with Carter.
Bold and Beautiful Spoilers: Dylan’s Past Comes to Light
Then, the week of August 31st through September 4th on The Bold and the Beautiful, we’ll find out a lot more about Dylan’s past now that her mom, Darcy, is in town. I’m looking forward to seeing Dylan’s mom taking on some of the people that have been mean to her daughter.
We should also see RJ and Electra working on Electra’s new line, and we’ll find out if Zende is on the line, too, or if he somehow gets the short end of the stick. We’ll also see RJ and Electra getting closer on a personal level.
Now that Will and Dylan have made love, I expect to see her at Will’s place a lot and for them to be sleeping together regularly with his mom, Katie, seething over it. But I don’t think Will is going to let Katie get in the way of him pursuing things with Melissa.
We should see more of Hope and Deke Sharpe (Harrison Cone) working together at Logan on their next line. And hopefully they’re going to find out about Electra’s youth line so that they can prepare for this.
And if Dylan tells Will and he brings that info to Logan, I suspect that’s a bridge towards Dylan winding up working at Logan after she exits Forrester Creations, whether she’s fired or whether she’s had enough of it and finally walks out.
Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Ticking Time Bomb for Carter & Steffy
Also, Steffy and Carter’s secret is dangerously close to coming all the way out because they keep talking about it at work. They’re both drowning in guilt. Ridge feels like something is going on. So, this is there’s going to be repercussions for quite a while from this little one night mistake.
We’ll see if Taylor and Deacon’s relationship starts to go downhill after the proposal fail. Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) thinks that he’s fine with this, but I doubt Deacon is because Taylor was willing to marry Ridge, just not him. So, I suspect Deacon may go see Sheila.
And that’s part of that is because he asked Taylor, if you remember, did he make a mistake leaving Sheila for her? We may see Carter and Daphne looking into IVF if he can convince Steffy to keep it quiet about them cheating. We’re also on a countdown to find out if Carter got Steffy pregnant.

Young and Restless 2-Week Spoilers Aug 24-Sept 4: Phyllis Spirals in Fear & Billy Runs Wild!
Young and the Restless spoilers for the two weeks that begin August 24th with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) panicking when she can’t find her boyfriend. Also, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is out of control. He’s being aggressive and he’s putting his entire future and happiness at risk.
Also coming up in the two weeks of August 24th through September 4th, we’ll see Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) ranting while Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) goes all out to help Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). Plus, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) are ready to bail on Genoa City. So, let’s jump right into it.
Young and the Restless Spoilers: Holden Chooses Lily
Monday, August 24th on Young and the Restless, we’ve got Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) conflicted because Billy offered him a job at Chancellor, but Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) wants his loyalty to be with her. So, Holden asks his mom, Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox), for advice. Holden says Claire Newman (Hayley Erin);said, “Don’t trust Billy.” And Stephanie thinks Holden should just go talk to Lily about it.
Meanwhile, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Lily are talking and she tells him Devon said just let Billy have Chancellor. Nate agrees that Cane will be fine without the company, but Lily is going to fight and she tells Nate she has a plan. Nate offers to postpone his return to medicine, but Lily says she’s got this and tells Nate to follow his dream.
Holden shows up and then Nate takes off to go meet Stephanie for lunch and Holden tells Lily that Billy offered him a job at Chancellor and Lily can’t believe Holden’s considering it. She says Billy’s going down and Holden will go down with him. Lily says, “Pick a side.” And so Holden chooses Lily.
Y&R Spoilers: Nate & Stephanie Get Excited
Stephanie and Nate have lunch and he tells her he scheduled his surgery and things are looking good. Stephanie can’t wait to have Nate back at the hospital as a surgeon. Nikki goes to see Jack at Jabot and he tells Nikki they need to keep their distance because her marriage is still recovering.
But Nikki says no. And she asks Jack to help Nick. So, Nikki wants Jack to be Nick’s official sponsor. And Jack says that Nick’s the one who has to ask him. And Jack knows that Victor is not going to like this. Nikki doesn’t care if Victor likes it or not. She’s the one who trusts Jack with Nick.
So then Jack tells Nikki that Nick is probably embarrassed that he relapsed. And then Nikki gets a call from Nick who asks her to come visit. So, Nikki takes off and Jack goes to see Victor to talk about being Nick’s sponsor. Jack says that Nick’s sobriety is more important than their feud.
But Victor starts raging about the night of debauchery. And Jack reminds him Nikki’s been sober since then. And Jack says he can help Nick, but Victor’s irate. And then he throws Jack out of the house.
Nick’s working on a puzzle when Marie Kirkland (Jade Harlow) joins and helps him with it. And she tells Nick that her marriage is over. Her husband’s done. Marie and Nick both admit they’ve been thinking of each other a lot. And then Nikki shows up to see Nick. So Marie steps out. Nick vows he won’t let Nikki down. And they have a very sweet moment.
Young and Restless Spoilers: Sparks Fly for Kyle & Victoria
Then Tuesday, August 25th on Young and the Restless, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) gets an enticing proposition from Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). I’m assuming it’s professional, but it might be personal. Kyle and Victoria are sparking left and right. This is going to be really messy because this will likely bother Claire and tick off Victor, and it may also concern Jack.
We have Victor ranting about what an awful idea it is for Jack to be Nick’s sponsor. He may be barking at Nikki about it. Then again, he may be venting to Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). We’ll see how it goes because I think both Nikki and Adam likely think that Jack being Nick’s sponsor is a good idea.
Wednesday, August 26 on Young and the Restless, we have Victor going to see Nick at rehab. And after that, he may reconsider his objection to Jack being Nick’s sponsor if Victor realizes, okay, this is the best thing for Nick. I really hope Victor puts Nick above himself and his own petty rivalries.
Lily seeks Jack’s advice on Wednesday, and of course, this has to do with Billy and Chancellor. Lily already offered to pay off the loan. She said she would pay the principal back to Jack plus a significant amount of interest, but he told Lily he needed to think about it. She’s back up to see Jack, so she may be pressing on him. Meanwhile, Kyle’s new plot makes Diane uneasy, and this may be about him and Victoria.
Y&R Spoilers: Daniel Rages at Phyllis
Then, Thursday, August 27th, on Young and the Restless, we’ve got Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) and Phyllis getting into it at the GCAC bar. Daniel may hit the roof when he sees how close Phyllis is getting to Matt Clark (Roger Howarth). I’m also wondering if Phyllis is upset Daniel took a job and not her.
Then Phyllis storms over to get between Adam and Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) at the bar. She interrupts their conversation. Phyllis demands to know where the heck Matt is and what Adam’s family has done with him. So, it looks like Phyllis’s new beau is missing.
Adam wants to know what’s going on with Phyllis and Matt. All I know is Phyllis seems to be all in with Matt and wants Victor to leave him alone. Lily hits Billy with a challenge on Thursday. Lily’s fighting real hard and she’s got Adam and Victor and Cane and Holden and others on her side against Billy who has far fewer allies.
Victoria and Kyle’s rivalry takes a different turn. Victoria’s with Kyle up at Jabot. Tells him she’s going to love knocking the swagger out of him. And then they kiss passionately. So maybe they’ve made some sort of wager. We’ll see.

Young and the Restless Spoilers: Jack & Diane Make Romantic Plans
Friday, August 28th on Young and the Restless. Jack and Diane are ready to take off on a romantic trip. They are together at Chancellor Park Cafe, making their plans, but Nick’s sobriety is at risk, and Jack may need to stay in town for him.
Also this week, Cane and Lily are having wine and chatting at her place, and I’m sure this is a Billy strategy meeting. Also this week, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Billy are talking at Society, and it’s really tense. He’s trying to convince Sally that this time it’s different, but it’s not.
He’s still as obsessed with Chancellor as ever. Meanwhile, Sally wants Billy to put it behind him and focus on her and the baby that they are expecting. Matt and Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) reconnect. She’s locked in a high security psychiatric hospital.
So, either Matt goes to visit her, maybe to talk about Victor, or there’s a chance Matt has been taken by Victor and dropped off there, but I tend to think it’s Matt visiting. Meanwhile, we’ve got Phyllis marching over to the new ranch, accusing Victor of doing something to Matt.
She wants to know where he is, but Victor won’t spill. He may not be involved in Matt going MIA, but I think Victor will find it amusing if he can provoke Phyllis and let her think he is.
Young and Restless Spoilers: Lily Plays Hardball with Billy
Then the week of August 31st through September 4th on Young and the Restless, we’ve got Billy and Lily’s war heating up. Billy doesn’t seem to have nearly as many allies on his side, but that’s just going to make him spiral out faster. Sally’s not loving the Chancellor thing.
Lily may reach out to Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) even though Jack doesn’t want to involve her. He’s hesitant because of Jill’s health issues. We may see Nikki lashing out at Victor if he keeps insisting that Jack can’t help Nick. And Jack and Diane may need to delay their trip because of him sponsoring Nick.
And of course, Billy coming unhinged with his Chancellor obsession might throw their plans off. Also, I think we’re going to see Marie and Nick getting closer in rehab. Look for little seeds of romance.
Kyle and Victoria are really heating up and Kyle may be playing Victoria at first, but I feel like these two are going to fall hard and fast. However, it may strain Victoria’s relationship with Claire. And of course, Victor would explode.
We’ll find out soon if this surgery works for Nate and he’ll be back to being a surgeon himself. And we may see a kiss between Stephanie and Nate as they celebrate his recovery. Phyllis may be lashing out at Matt for reconnecting with Patty behind her back and going radio silent and scaring her.

Hoda Kotb Talks New ‘Connection’ Years After Failed Engagement
Four years after Hoda Kotb and financier Joel Schiffman called off their engagement, the journalist seems to be moving on to a new beau.
Kotb and Schiffman got engaged in November 2019. However, in January of 2022, the couple announced they had mutually called off the engagement after eight years together.
With her recent comments, however, fans are questioning what might be ahead for the TV correspondent.

In an appearance with her former “The Today Show” hosts Sheinelle Jones and Jenna Bush Hager, the veteran television host shared a surprising new personal development.
The anchor said she met a handsome stranger on a flight. According to the Daily Mail, Kotb said she and the mystery man had such a strong connection that it left them both in tears afterward.
“It was the weirdest connection in the world. It was strange. You know, when you have one of those… everything is firing on all cylinders?’ Kotb shared. “He kept saying, ‘Is this a dream? Is this real?’”
Despite their connection, they went their separate ways after the flight. However, good fortune was on their side, and they ran into each other again at a business meeting.
“Our company went to Cannes so we could talk about our company, and he was in the audience, randomly,” she recalled.
Although they greeted each other and it kind of all went away, the award-winning broadcaster divulged they had exchanged numbers and were texting.
“Look. There are connections. I don’t know what it is,” Kotb added, before going on to call him “very cute” and “very handsome.”
This sweet comment signals a new chapter for the celebrated TV host, who ended her previous engagement years ago.
Hoda Kotb And Joel Schiffman Called Off Their Engagement Four Years Ago

Just two years shy of a decade together, Kotb and Schiffman had called off their four-year engagement.
The news was confirmed by the television host in an appearance on the “Today” show. She explained why she had not been seen wearing her engagement ring.
“Joel and I have had a lot of prayerful and really meaningful conversations over the holidays, and we decided that we’re better as friends and parents than we are as an engaged couple,” Kotb announced, as reported by The Blast.
The duo is parents to their two adopted daughters, Haley Joy Kotb and Hope Catherine Kotb. Despite no longer being together, the couple has ended on good terms.
Hoda Kotb Revealed She Was Sure Love Would Happen For Her Again

Several months after the split, the then 58-year-old made an unexpected confession that she was very sure she would find love again, stating she had a “Spidey-sense” about it.
She recalled a conversation with her sister, who once asked if she was afraid of being by herself. However, Kotb replied, “I am not going to be by myself, revealing she could sometimes feel him, even though she did not know what he looked like.
As reported by The Blast, the former “NBC Dateline” correspondent was so sure of her intuition that if she were told she would meet someone by Christmas, a month after her statement, she would have been okay with it.
Hoda Kotb Revealed The Moment She Knew Relationship To Joel Schiffman Was Over

While the 62-year-old looked ahead to a new phase, she also reflected on the relationship she left behind. In her 2025 book, “Jump And Find Joy,” Kotb revealed the moment she realized her relationship had come to an end.
According to People Magazine, an excerpt of the book revealed the decision came after attending a week-long retreat at the “Hoffman Institute.”
The retreat was aimed at helping people make significant positive changes in their lives, and Kotb felt that “everything had shifted,” including her relationship with ex-fiancé Schiffman.
The author also disclosed that while at the retreat, she felt compelled to tell the real reason she was there after hearing everyone be so raw and open.
“‘I am a total phony in my relationships. ‘I’m a pretender,’ she admitted. The former host shared how difficult the admission was for her, but that she felt at peace afterward.
NBC Staff Were Reportedly Fed Up With Hoda Kotb After Her Departure
While Kotb continues to be open about her romantic life, her professional life also drew attention for a totally different reason.
A year after leaving her co-anchor role on “Today,” Kotb reportedly faced backlash from her former colleagues while she tried to develop her YouTube series “Joy Rides.”
According to insiders, Kotb reportedly continues to return to former colleagues to seek favors, thereby becoming a source of grief to colleagues who are already overwhelmed.
This has seemed to bring mockery to the former host, with colleagues questioning her career move, per The Blast.

Big Brother Veto Meeting Results: Devens Sparks Chaos with Clever Schemes Amid Renom Drama & Competition Plots
It’s time for Big Brother veto meeting spoilers because Dee Valladares did have to name a renom after LaTrice Verrett used the power of veto to take herself off the block. We’ve got those results plus Rick Devens played Jedi mind tricks on Drew Campbell and Barrett Pfeiffer. And also Dee’s real endgame.
Big Brother: Dee Dishes Strategy
Okay, so last night, Dee let Mallory Aurichio know that she was going to be the renom and the fun loving girl melted down and raged after Dee told her. But in a way, it’s Mallory’s own fault.
In the HOH comp, Mallory, Melody Morris and Barrett weren’t really trying once they saw that Dee had the leading time. Mallory admitted she threw it because she trusted Dee not to nominate her. Not good strategy.
Also Dee separately let Barrett and Drew know that she’d renom Mallory. Barrett was upset but still told Dee he’ll choose her over Mallory. Dee gave Mallory a heads up and said she’s not renomming Yash Patel or Haley Thogmartin because they wouldn’t nominate Dee.
And Dee can’t say the same about Mallory. Dee’s still insisting that Taylor Brown‘s her target for eviction. But that doesn’t mean anything either.
BB28: Mallory and Melody Rant
Speaking of Mallory, she was ranting at Melody saying Dee is such a bi*** and “I hate her”. Melody called Dee a coward and said she’s number one on their hit list. Mallory said America loves us wondering what Dee’s doing.
Melody ranted, “this isn’t Survivor, bi***”. Then she said she was going to spread so many lies about Dee. Also, Mallory ranted saying Lala’s being a “sneaky beast again”.
Melody said, “it’s so irritating, bro”. Mallory said, Lala “needs to like, just lose. That’s what the older people are here for”. Mallory also said Taylor should throw the Blockbuster and Melody said Taylor and Haley “should self-evict”.
Mallory also said if she leaves, “lowkey she’s going to say terrible things” about Dee “on a personal level”. Drew said, “we’ll win, forget Taylor, she’s going home this week”.
Drew told Mallory and Melody, “worst case, we’ll win the Blockbuster”. And Drew said, “even if I have to tackle Taylor during it”. Drew said, “I will go undo my rope and tangle hers more”. They’re assuming it’s the rope comp.
Drew saying “we” will win is funny when there’s only one winner. And he and Mallory will be playing against each other. Apparently Mallory was so enraged, she slammed the Diary Room door really hard and knocked a decorative clock off the wall and it broke.

Big Brother 28: Devens Gets the Details
Dee has no idea the fury she’s unleashing with one vet-pet on the block (Drew) and another vet-pet having his best friend heading onto the block (Mallory).
Also Dee cam talked about her endgame and she says she will not take Angela Murray or Devens to final two. Speaking of Drew and Barrett, here’s how Devens Jedi mind tricked them.
He went outside into the yard and stretched out behind the sofa to get some sun. Then, Devens overheard Barrett and Drew talking and heard his name come up. But Devens really couldn’t hear specifics.
That’s because the washer and dryer were on and a passing plane. Then, some others joined Drew and Barrett and their game talk stopped. So, Devens stood up, gave a big stretch so they’d see him. And Drew and Barrett panicked.
They asked if he was sleeping and Devens said no, he was listening. Then he stormed off. But he was just faking mad. And they went scrambling. Drew was up in the HOH room after that.
And Devens came in pretending to be upset and scared Drew and Barrett into coming clean. Devens said he uses the same trick on his kids Jack and Juju pretending to know what they did and then getting them to confess.
Big Brother: A Twist Ahead?
So, the live feeds went down before 12:30 BB time and came back up a bit later. And sure enough, Lala used her power of veto to take herself off the block. And Dee did as she said she would, she renommed Mallory.
Dee planned to NOT explain herself. So now we have Drew, Taylor and Mallory heading into the Big Brother Blockbuster on Thursday night’s live episode which is the big 1000th episode featuring former houseguests and the introduction of a major twist.
They said it’s something that’s NEVER been done in Big Brother history. One thing I’ve seen some people suggest is an HOH that is Newbies-only since they did icons-only HOH for the first one of BB28.
Body Count and What’s Next on BB28
If my count is right, we’ve got 5 evictions before finale night. One left in August and four in September. So, we need to be down to final three by the end of September for the October 1 finale.
Right now, we have 11 houseguests. One’s evicted on August 27, taking us down to 10. Then, September 3, 10, 17, and 24th would take out 4 more houseguests leaving us with six. Which is three too many.
We usually get a double eviction so that would knock out one more which still leaves us with two too many. So, we could get an instant eviction. They’ve done a triple eviction before so it’s likely not that.
Maybe a battle back to boost us up by one so they could do a quadruple eviction. That would be new. Could be a jury thing. Maybe a past houseguest joins the jury in a non-voting role to facilitate things.

AnnaLynne McCord Marries Danny Cipriani in Crowdfunded Wedding
AnnaLynne McCord and Danny Cipriani are officially married after the couple crowdfunded their wedding.
“I married the love of my life yesterday. And it’s real; it wasn’t a dream,” McCord, 39, said in an Instagram video on Sunday, August 23, as she recorded herself in bed next to Cipriani, 38. “There’s love. There’s a grace upon my being. Every moment of this creation, of this ceremony, every moment of ritual, every stolen glance, until we could just stand there holding hands, looking in each other’s eyes for a frozen moment that held the current of infinity.”
The 90210 alum called their wedding “incredibly timeless” and “a blessing.”
“The energies swirling around this wedding are all completely perfect. Not a foot put wrong, no missed step, no comment, no headline, not a sink horde,” she added. “Words are beauty in the eye of the beholder, and I see only beauty, only love. Happy first day being AnnaLynne Cipriani to me.”
The couple tied the knot in Los Angeles on Saturday, August 22, The U.S. Sun reported. The Days of Our Lives actress wore a lace floral dress and floor-length veil, while the former rugby player sported a navy suit.
Cipriani and McCord plan to have two more ceremonies, according to the outlet: one in London and another in Cambodia at the Angkor Wat tourist site.

Last month, McCord and Cipriani made headlines when they launched a HoneyFund page to crowdsource the costs associated with their nuptials. Among their requests were $100 to go toward their marriage license and $125 for their reception music. The couple also requested $600 each for their wedding cake, floral arrangements and venue construction, $250 for the reception’s catering and $200 for beverages.
They also asked for $300 to help pay for their wedding photographer and $500 toward their rehearsal dinner.
“Help us create our dream wedding and honeymoon experience with any amount of donation,” they wrote on the page.
The total amount of donations was at $14,200 as of Friday, August 21, according to The U.S. Sun.
McCord and Cipriani faced backlash for the fundraising site as online users criticized the pair for asking fans to pay for their wedding.
“I was told I was despicable — and that I was trying to extort money from my wedding guests,” she told the outlet. “People actually donated $10 toward the wedding so they could write on the site that Danny and I were disgusting. There were even death threats.”
Cipriani and McCord met on the dating app Raya in 2016 and began an on-off relationship for four years. The athlete moved on with ex Victoria Rose O’Callaghan, to whom he was married from 2021 to 2023. After their split, Cipriani and McCord reconnected in February 2024 and got engaged in December 2025.
“I wasn’t looking for it at all. It kind of found me,” McCord exclusively told Us about her feelings for Cipriani in May 2024. “It’s the most unlikely situation ever because I was with this person on and off for four years, and we were two shadows matching the shadow of the other person.”

Days of our Lives 2-Week Spoilers Aug 24-Sept 4: Alex Breaks Completely & Theo Unravels Fast!
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the two weeks starting August 24th with Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) snapping when his wife crosses lines and he cannot take it anymore. Also, Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews) is falling apart after losing his mother.
Also, the two weeks of August 24th through September 4th, there’s Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) quizzing EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) raging, and Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) bonding with Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien). Let’s dive right into what is coming.
Days of our Lives Spoilers: Abe & Theo Beside Themselves
Monday, August 24th on Days of Our Lives. We have Theo and Abe Carver (James Reynolds) absolutely devastated by Lexie Carver (Nikki Crawford)’s death. And Theo is reading a letter that Lexie left for him. We hear her voice for the last time in voice over mode as Theo looks at her final words to him. So, it sounds like these are the letters that Lexie asked EJ to make sure Abe and Theo got after she passed away.
Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) and Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) decide on a very special name for their newborn baby girl. Chanel and Johnny are bonding with her. They’re still up at the hospital and I’m wondering if they’re going to name her Alexandra to honor Johnny’s aunt who just passed away.
EJ is laying into Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and this may be about him taking off and bailing when Lexie got really sick instead of sticking around and trying to help. Cat does another hypnosis session with Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and she’s talking Cat through it saying, “You’re at the clinic in Italy. You finish reading to EJ. So, what happens next?” And Cat recovers an astonishing memory.
DOOL Spoilers: Jack Deveraux Returns
Tuesday, August 25th on Days of Our Lives, we’ve got Jack back in Salem. He’s dropping off recast Thomas Banks and Charlotte DiMera (Autumn Gendron) to their dad Chad DiMera (Connor Floyd). Jack also reaches out to his daughter Gwen. Now she was skeptical when Jack showed up and said he wanted a brother sister relationship. And Jack runs into Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) and Gwen. And Jack asked Gwen for a hug.
We also have Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) questioning Chad about his plans. And this may be Julie thinking it’s a bad idea for him to run off to Italy right after his kids just got back to Salem. But Chad’s thrilled to see Thomas and Charlotte and welcomes them with open arms.
Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) gives Javi Hernandez (Jacob Martinez) some advice about Leo and Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) has a pitch for Xander Cook (Paul Telfer). He may want him to stall on accepting the offer on the mansion because Philip is probably trying to buy time to get to that high stakes Monte Carlo poker game.
Also, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) confirm how much they love each other, but we know it won’t last, especially with Sarah making plans to move into Xander’s apartment building if the mansion sells. I wonder if Brady might ask Sarah to move in with him instead.
Days of our Lives Spoilers: Roman Supports Abe
Wednesday, August 26th, on Days of Our Lives, we’ve got Abe getting some meaningful help from his longtime friend Roman Brady (Josh Taylor). And I think this is about honoring his late wife, Lexie. So, we may see Roman hosting the wake. They may do a memorial for Lexie at the pub and Roman may arrange everything to make life easier on Abe. I’m also curious to see if EJ is allowed to attend since Lexie made it clear she does not blame her brother at all.
Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) leans on Theo because she’s upset with her hubby Alex. And Stephanie tells Alex this week, “We can’t keep going like this.” And Alex asks Stephanie, “What are you saying?” So, with Theo grieving and Stephanie frustrated and jealous, they may be boozing together again and cross lines.
She’s all spun up because she saw Alex hugging Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins), but she doesn’t understand the context and what was happening with this terrible news about her medical condition. We’ve got Cat picking EJ’s brain.
She remembered something really big in her hypno session with Marlena and may want to confirm it with EJ, but he’s had very scant memories of them at the clinic and it’s really frustrating him, but they’re just not there.
Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) enjoys a night on the town with Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) and I wonder if they see Stephanie out with Theo looking like they’re doing something sketchy. Marlena’s worried about Belle Black (Martha Madison)’s plans and this may be for Italy and the chessboard mystery.

Days Spoilers: Alex in for a Shock
Thursday, August 27th on Days of Our Lives. Alex drops Kelsey off with his stepmom Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans) to babysit so he can take Stephanie out on a date, but she may be out with Theo when Alex goes looking for his wife.
Meanwhile, Holly’s furious and she confronts EJ. So, thanks to Sarah, Holly knows EJ’s behind the poisoning that made her so sick. Plus, he planted the pills in her bag. And bottom line is Holly may never forgive her former stepdad.
And it’s just too bad that Nicole’s gone because I would love to see her blow up on EJ over all this. Paulina Price (Jackee Harry) wants Johnny to come clean to Chanel. And this may be about knowing where Lexie was.
Also, we have EJ making a tense phone call presumably to Rita Lesley (Maggie Carney) and tells her to get on the case and make sure he puts a lid on this poisoning situation once and for all.
Ari listens in on a disturbing conversation. This may be about the stolen designer designs or maybe something to do with DiMera business.
DOOL Spoilers: Jack Reconnects with Steve
Friday, August 28th on Days of Our Lives, Jack catches up with his brother Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols). They have lots to talk about. Gwen’s kidnapping, her buying the hospital, Lexie coming back from the dead, then dying again. There’s just a lot.
We also have EJ interrogating Chad about Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo)’s chest and clues. And I wonder if Chad will tell him about the other clues they’ve gotten. Also, Sarah is there for her ex, Xander. He’s upset about losing the house and blames himself.
We have Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) asking Arianna Horton (Vico Escorcia) for a favor. So, if Kate was the one that Ari overheard, it might be something Kate doesn’t want Roman to know, which of course will be super messy.
Marlena gives Belle a special keepsake as a gift and it may tie somehow into the mystery. Or maybe it’s some significant father-daughter trinket since Chad is going to the dance with Charlotte.
Days of our Lives Spoilers: Stephanie in Trouble
Then the week of August 31st through September 4th, Stephanie may regret leaning on Theo when Alex is very upset with her. Joy’s heading into surgery soon and if Stephanie’s still acting out, it’s going to be a lot harder on Alex to juggle all this.
Abe has to pick up the pieces after losing Lexie. I’m sure Paulina will comfort him, but things will be awkward because of his grief and how their marriage abruptly ended. Chanel and Johnny’s baby girl could bring them together.
We’ll see if Chad and Charlotte’s father-daughter dance has other guests because we may see other father and daughter duos like Brady with Rachel Black (Lorelei Olivia Mote), maybe Xander with Victoria.
We’ll also find out if Kate did something else that Roman won’t like and that may be why she needs a favor from Arianna. Leo gets back on track investigating the fake designer bags for Gabi and it could lead somewhere really unexpected.
Also, it’s time for campus move-in for Ari, Aaron, and Holly on their sophomore years at college. And we may see Tate Black (Leo Howard) feeling a little out of touch with his friends since he’s out adulting and running his own business while they are all in school.
Philip should be heading to Monte Carlo soon, but the question is, will Gabi go along for the ride and maybe to bring him luck? Leo and Javi are reuniting as a couple soon because Javi realizes it’s Leo that he loves.
And he and Gus (Michael Ocampo) call it quits for good. Also, the week of September 9th, so the week following this one, Sydney DiMera (Evelyn Stephenson) is making her Salem debut.

Beyond the Gates 2-Week Spoilers Aug 24-Sept 4: Dani Erupts in Fury & Hayley Gets Exposed!
Beyond the Gates two week spoilers see the action kicking is off August 24th, including Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) losing it as she deals with one crisis too many. Plus, Hayley Lawson (Marquita Goings) is busted at last when her hubby catches her redhanded.
Let’s dive into what is happening the two weeks of August 24th through September 4th where we will also see Chelsea Hamilton (RhonniRose Mantilla) panicking over her psycho ex. We have Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie) falling apart and Andre Richardson (Sean Freeman) coming clean about his messy past, but the question is to whom?
Beyond the Gates Spoilers: Hayley Gets Her Way
Monday, August 24th on BTG, we’ve got Hayley getting what she wants out of Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacob). And since the only thing Hayley is demanding from Ashley is Bill Hamilton’s (Timon Kyle Durrett) discharge papers, it looks like he is in for a homecoming. Of course, Hayley’s planning a whopping big poison dose in Bill’s food or drink or smoothie, but she needs to do it on her own turf away from prying eyes.
Dani and Hayley pile on more hatred for each other. They are raging face-to-face in Bill’s office, picking up from the scene on Friday. And Dani tells Hayley that she can’t understand what Dani and Andre have because it’s rooted in love. But Hayley claps back that it’s so rooted that Dani is always sniffing around her marriage and her man, Bill.
Dani gets called onto the carpet by Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) and Anita. They are likely questioning her recent words and deeds, and it’s likely about Bill. Still, Dani will insist that she’s just watching out for her daughter’s dad.
BTG Spoilers: Chelsea Terrified
On the one-year anniversary of Chelsea’s kidnapping, she gets more phone calls with heavy breathing and hang-ups. Kat Richardson (Colby Muhammad) took one of the calls on Friday and admitted it’s creepy. Chelsea is in full blown panic mode and tells Kat the calls are not a weird coincidence. Kat is comforting Chelsea.
And this week, Kat heads to the cop shop and tells Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges) about the calls. And Kat’s asking Jacob, “What if Allison Bailey (Brianna Roberts) escaped?” Tuesday, August 25th on Beyond the Gates, we’ve got Randy Parker (Maurice P. Kerry) bringing some big big news to Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom), and it’s likely something he found out while tailing Heather Armstrong (Ashley Jones).
Randy might have seen Andre visiting at her hotel room or Heather circling Smitty because Heather is taunting Smitty and Martin this week. Heather’s mad that Bradley “Smitty” Smith (Mike Manning) is the journalist putting her red market ring on the front pages, and Heather may want to silence Smitty permanently. Andre has to confront his past and he gets a text this week from an unknown sender that simply says tick-tock. He stares distracted at the text till Dani says his name to get his attention. No doubt it’s from Heather reminding him time is running out and what she wants from him.
Beyond the Gates Spoilers: Andre Visits Heather
And by the end of the week, Andre is back at her hotel room and Heather says she knew he wouldn’t be able to stay away. Yeah, because she’s making threats. Also, Vanessa McBride (Lauren Buglioli) wants to do a major overhaul. We’ll see if it’s about her and Joey, maybe his apartment.
Maybe something with her house that she shared with Doug McBride (Jason Graham) that she barely stays at anymore. We also have June (Jasmine Burke) offering a heartbroken Tyrell Richardson (Jaden Lucas Miller) comfort.
Of course, he’s crushed about Jessica dumping him so maybe his mom can make Tyrell feel better. Wednesday, August 26 on Beyond the Gates, we’ve got Carlton Fitzgerald (Robert Christopher Riley) running into somebody he wasn’t expecting to see.
Maybe it’s Nicole Dupree Richardson (Daphnee Duplaix). Dani is searching for answers either about Hayley or why Andre is so distracted, but her search is cut short. And Mona has Joey back in her sights, and she’s hustling him again.
Church lady Mona already surprised Joey the last time they played cards, and it looks like she might surprise him again. Ted Richardson (Keith D. Robinson) has an emotional conversation with Nicole. This may be about her and Kial Rollins (Greg Vaughan) getting serious, or him and Shanice Johnson (Ernestine Johnson) getting serious, or both.
Heather’s angry and lashing out. So, I think Andre is going to tick her off by rejecting her again. But then again, Heather’s anger may be at Smitty, who is determined to unmask the Impaler, and Heather doesn’t want to be unmasked, and she’s going to go all out to stop him.

BTG Spoilers: Kat & Nicole Spar
Thursday, August 27th on Beyond the Gates. Nicole and Kat are clashing this week, and it may be about the Nikki handbag that Anita warned her would not go over well with Nicole, who doesn’t like nicknames. Plus, that’s what Leslie calls her.
Bill hits up Naomi Hamilton Hawthorne (Arielle Prepetit) with a proposition. It may be to run the firm while he recovers from his pacemaker surgery. Tomas won’t like that. Also, on Thursday, he goes to Eva Thomas Richardson (Ambyr Michelle) for support, which puts her in the middle and she’s told Tomas before, “Go talk to Kat, not me.”
Eva seems on edge when she finds Kat hanging out with Izaiah Hawthorne (David Lami Friebe) at Orphe Jeans. And Eva greets Cat with some fake enthusiasm and then she covers Isaiah’s face with very loud kisses in front of her. I do wonder if Eva is going to tell her sister Kat that Tomas Navarro (Alex Alegria) stopped by to see her.
A stressed out Andre visits Ted at the office this week and he asks if Andre is in trouble. So, he spills, but I don’t know if he’s going to spill the whole entire truth about Heather, you know, but if he does, he should tell her that she’s terrifying stalking him. And oh, also is Joey’s sister. Somebody asked Ted what’s up with Andre and he does not spill the beans. So, maybe it’s Dani asking. Isaiah may be planning to move things forward with Eva since he shares something with Jacob this week.
Beyond the Gates Spoilers: Naomi Annoys Hayley
Friday, August 28th on Beyond the Gates. We’ve got Hayley not too happy to have Naomi around more and more, and Hayley is hassling her ex-best friend, who is now her resentful stepdaughter. And Hayley is hustling Bill, but she’s finally caught. So, Hayley runs over to meet Randy at Uptown and says, “With any luck, Bill will be dead by the time she gets home.”
Hayley’s laughing and laying her hand on Randy’s arm. So, it looks like Hayley left Bill a poisoned smoothie and planned to stay gone until he croaked. But Bill didn’t stay home. He followed Hayley and he sees her with Randy and looks like he may assume the affair rumors are true. So, Hayley’s about to get blown out of the water. We’ll see what lies she tells Bill while she’s scrambling.
Smitty rat tattles Chelsea and Kat when he unintentionally inspires some anxiety in them. So, it sounds like Smitty might have some disturbing news about Allison. And Smitty might not be the only one because Jacob gets upsetting news from his dad, Elon Hawthorne (Malachi Malik). This could be about crazy Allison or the Impaler.
Anita is unsure about an opportunity and this may be about her voice not coming back after chemo and her and Tracy and Sharon of course have those sessions planned to record Art Techlet’s songs. Vernon is in crisis mode by the end of the week. This may be about protecting Chelsea or about Anita’s frustrations.
BTG Spoilers: Bill Busts Hayley
Then the week of August 31st through September 4th. We’ve got Bill catching Hayley with Randy, of course, so he may talk to Joey or run to Dani. Either way, Bill’s going to have an eye on Hayley and he needs to be careful because Bill’s wife is murderous.
Andre already told Heather that he’ll tell Dani about them. And of course, Heather’s playing cat and mouse, but she won’t stop until Andre is back in her bed. Smitty is in danger. Dani might be in danger, but I bet Andre is safe as long as Heather thinks there’s a chance she can get him back in her bed.
Randy may be tasked to stay on Heather, and he may get some photo proof of what’s going on with her. If Randy gets pics of Andre and Heather, that would be huge. Chelsea gets more news about her stalker ex Allison, as she worries about her and Madison’s safety.
The whole family is likely worried by next week after the updates from Smitty and Elon. Anita continues to struggle with her voice and that could derail the recording sessions with Devon and the Articullettes. Look for more tension between Naomi and Tomas up at the law office as well.

More On Chris Brown’s Royalties & Tour Income & Ex-Housekeeper’s $13M Judgment Following Dog Attack
As The Shade Room previously reported, Maria Avila was attacked by Chris Brown’s 200-pound shepherd in 2020. In July, a jury awarded her a $13 million judgment. This, after she was left with PTSD and severe scarring on her arm and face. Per Brown, he allegedly warned Avila not to go by his dogs without his security guards present prior to the attack.
More recently, earlier this month, Brown asked the court to block Avila’s collection of the $13 million. This, as he continues to tour alongside Usher on their ‘R&B’ tour, which was recently announced to have additional dates.

7 Book Authors Without Many Movie or TV Adaptations
Movies don’t become books nearly as often as books become movies (there are novelizations out there, of course, and also 2001: A Space Odyssey, where the movie came out before the book was published). So, obviously, for books that have become movies, there are endless examples. Certain authors have proven particularly easy (or tempting) to adapt, to the point where it’s easier to find books of theirs that have been adapted than books that haven’t (see Stephen King, for example).
But then you’ve got authors whose work hasn’t really been represented in forms outside the written page. It would be easy to highlight authors who weren’t hugely prolific and still haven’t had much by way of adaptations (like John Kennedy Toole and A Confederacy of Dunces or J.D. Salinger and The Catcher in the Rye), so instead, here are some decently prolific authors who haven’t had many books of theirs adapted into movies or TV shows. That could always change, as time goes on, but at the time of writing, you do have to read (or listen to audiobooks) if you want to experience most of what these authors have put out into the world.
7
Milan Kundera
While Milan Kundera himself wouldn’t agree with this statement, the author’s The Unbearable Lightness of Being was made into a pretty great movie in 1988. The original novel was published several years earlier, and was about a womanizing doctor who only occasionally found genuine emotional engagement with people. And then that original novel was also about lots of other things, with philosophical ideas drifted toward pretty often on Kundera’s part. That was kind of his style in other works of his, too.
But Milan Kundera was not a fan of The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988), and so if that led to no more adaptations of his work… well, there you go. Not that Kundera’s novels and short stories are easily translatable to the big (or small) screen, but a streamlining was done for The Unbearable Lightness of Being in a way that’s worked for some people. No, not the author, but some others. An earlier novel of his, The Joke, also got a movie adaptation almost 20 years before The Unbearable Lightness of Being, but otherwise, most of his works have remained unadapted.
6
James Ellroy
James Ellroy has co-written a couple of screenplays that weren’t technically adaptations of any prior works of his, like Street Kings and Dark Blue. As for his books, the one that’s had easily the most recognizable film adaptation is L.A. Confidential, which is another The Unbearable Lightness of Being-type situation where the film was well-received, but the author himself wasn’t super enthusiastic about how things turned out.
There’s also all the books in the Underworld U.S.A. trilogy, the material there feeling appropriate for a TV series, maybe, if you had someone who really knew what they were doing/adapting, but nothing yet, at the time of writing.
Since L.A. Confidential, The Black Dahlia has also been adapted, and that one didn’t come out nearly as successfully, so the other two books in Ellroy’s L.A. Quartet remain unadapted. There’s also all the books in the Underworld U.S.A. trilogy, the material there feeling appropriate for a TV series, maybe, if you had someone who really knew what they were doing/adapting, but nothing yet, at the time of writing. Ellroy certainly writes cinematic and drama-heavy books, but only those two previously-mentioned ones and a couple of other early novels of his (Blood on the Moon, which became Cop, and Brown’s Requiem) have been turned into films. Like, not as many as you’d expect, all up.
5
Larry Niven
Larry Niven likes writing hard science fiction, and that science fiction also seems to be hard-to-adapt. Sometimes. There are stories of his that feel like they could make the jump to the big or small screen, especially something like Ringworld, which is Niven’s most famous novel. It’s also not a particularly long one, but nothing’s come to fruition.
You can find an article from 2000 that says “Ringworld Movie Around the Corner,” which is kind of funny or sad, depending on your outlook. Traditional rings don’t have corners, after all, so it’s all a bit ironic. Anyway, the novel of Larry Niven’s that might most deserve an adaptation is Lucifer’s Hammer, which is a very compelling post-apocalyptic book he co-wrote with Jerry Pournelle. They collaborated pretty often, so consider this an honorable mention for Pournelle, too, since his work has largely remained on the page.
4
Don DeLillo
There are Don DeLillo books that can be read in very short amounts of time, and one of them, Cosmopolis, did get made into a movie, in 2012. And movies, you know, can also usually be watched in one sitting, so maybe you’d expect a few more Don DeLillo books to have been made into movies, but the only other one is White Noise, which came out exactly one decade on from Cosmopolis.
In both cases, the books were better. When taking that into account, maybe that makes it understandable why he’s not been adapted a lot. Still, Libra could make for a great movie (again, as always, in the right hands), and there’s been talk of Underworld becoming either a movie or series. That one in particular gets a lot of acclaim, yet might well be the most challenging DeLillo book to make into something coherent on screen, since it’s easily the author’s longest work, at over 800 pages in length.
3
Brandon Sanderson
Including Brandon Sanderson here might well age poorly, because he’s built up an immense amount of popularity over the past decade or so, as a fantasy author, and it’s not difficult to find news about works from his Cosmere universe getting adaptations. Mistborn: The Final Empire feels like the logical starting point, since that one doesn’t get too out of control with ambition, and it reads very cinematically while having the kind of structure that would translate well into a movie.
Then there’s also The Stormlight Archive, which is a bigger series than Mistborn, and it feels like television would be the better medium there. Like, barring any disasters, you’ll probably see the original Mistborn trilogy or The Stormlight Archive make their way onto some kind of screen soon. And even if there’s one disaster, you’ll still probably see the other. Brandon Sanderson, at the time of writing, can only be read, but it’s unlikely you’ll be able to say that about his body of work for much longer.
2
Robert McCammon
Some of his books have “Robert R. McCammon” on the cover, while at other times, he’s credited as just Robert McCammon, but neither name will you find in many movie or TV credits, be they opening or closing. He is not an author whose work has been adapted much, for reasons that aren’t all that clear. The one major novel of his that has had an adaptation of sorts is only recent, with a series called Teacup being based on McCammon’s Stinger (1988).
If you go digging, though, there’s an embarrassment of riches within his body of work. McCammon isn’t the greatest author in the world in a literary sense or whatever, but his books are heavy on horror and thrills – all the while generally being well-paced – in ways that make them feel like they’d be no-brainers for either movie or TV adaptations. Swan Song is a great post-apocalyptic novel, Boy’s Life feels like it would make for a great coming-of-age film, and then The Wolf’s Hour is a World War II spy story with almost excessive action and a main character who can turn into a werewolf. In what world do people not want to watch a World War II werewolf/spy movie? It’s The Dirty Dozen or Inglourious Basterds, but with werewolves. Come on, Hollywood!
1
Thomas Pynchon
To the credit of Paul Thomas Anderson, he seems able to adapt Thomas Pynchon. Actually, he’s the only person to have done it so far, on one occasion, or maybe twice, or maybe 1.5 times. Like, Anderson’s Inherent Vice (2014) is definitely an adaptation of Pynchon’s Inherent Vice (2009). The same beats are hit, though the book is a bit more complicated, even though the movie was singled out for being complicated and difficult to follow itself.
The other time, or that other half time, was Vineland (1990) serving as the inspiration for One Battle After Another (2025). That was a much looser adaptation, but the Oscar Paul Thomas Anderson won for writing it was Best Adapted Screenplay, so it counts as an adaptation in the Academy’s eyes. Otherwise, Pynchon’s novels remain novels only. There are seven others (plus a short story collection), and they’re sometimes considered among the best books of their time (especially Gravity’s Rainbow and Mason & Dixon), but there are so many ways adaptations could go wrong. That there are even two (or one and a half) Thomas Pynchon adaptations is kind of remarkable, to be honest.

Shannon Sharpe Embarrasses Enes Kanter On ‘Nightcap’
Super Bowl champion Shannon Sharpe took aim at Enes Kanter on an episode of his “Nightcap” podcast, accusing the former NBA player of “rage baiting” for attention. Sharpe, alongside Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson and former NBA All-Star Joe Johnson, questioned Kanter’s motives after he was ejected from a WNBA game following a heated exchange with Chicago Sky guard Natasha Cloud.
Sharpe and his co-hosts wasted no time calling out Kanter during an episode of “Nightcap,” saying the former Boston Celtics player only attended to draw attention to himself and make a ruckus. “He probably ain’t never been to no WNBA game. Then go there just to be the agitator, just cause ruckus, just to make the headlines. Come on, bro, what we doing?” Joe Johnson said.
Sharpe didn’t seem as annoyed as others, saying Kanter’s motive is likely to rile people up so he can garner attention. “He’s rage baiting. Then he’s gonna run to Fox News and talk about, ‘See, this is what I’m talking about, they’re not inclusive. They wanna have their cake and eat it too’ and yada yada yada yada yada,” he said.
Sharpe didn’t end there; the 8X Pro-Bowler even came for Kanter’s ability to perform, saying if he “were good,” he’d still be in the NBA. “His own home country don’t want him back,” Sharpe said.
Enes Kanter Ejected From WNBA Game After Getting Into Verbal Altercation With Natasha Cloud
On Sunday, August 23, Kanter was ejected from a Chicago Sky game after getting into a verbal altercation with Natasha Cloud. The moment occurred in the third quarter, and videos show Kanter approaching the baseline with his arms outstretched, jawing back at the WNBA veteran.
Kanter showed up at the WNBA game just weeks after declaring for the 2027 WNBA Draft. His declaration came amid a growing controversy over transgender athletes in women’s sports, sparked in part by Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham’s comments on the topic.

“If simply declaring who you are is all that’s required,” he said, “then I meet every single requirement necessary to compete in the WNBA.” He stated further: “I’m simply asking that the current rules be applied equally to everyone, the rules that represent the very values many WNBA players and coaches have publicly advocated for.”
While attending the game, Kanter wore a shirt with what some have said was an offensive message. “WOMAN noun. adult human female,” the shirt said.
Sharpe Says Enes Kanter Just Wants His ’15 Minutes Of Fame’

The “Nightcap” co-hosts don’t seem entertained by Kanter and his antics, considering Sharpe said the 34-year-old was only doing this to cause trouble.
“People just want their 15 minutes of fame and are just gonna carry on and carry on. I don’t get it. Then you wear the t-shirt knowing [it will] enrage people. I don’t get his angle,” he stated.
After Kanter’s removal, the NBA player spoke with Fox News about the interaction and claimed Cloud made an inappropriate remark toward him. According to him, he began celebrating after Cunningham made a three-pointer. Following that, Cloud allegedly yelled at him, saying, “‘[Sophie’s] not gonna sleep with you.’”
“And I was like, ‘I am not trying to sleep with her. I’m just here to protect women and support her.’ And then, obviously, after that she started yapping, and she started to walk towards me, and literally I just got up, and then I was like, ‘I’m just here to protect women, and that’s all,’” Kanter said.
Kanter ‘Cannot Believe’ Cloud’s Reaction During WNBA Game
Kanter also said he was shocked and surprised by Cloud’s alleged vulgar language, noting that many minor children were at the game.
“She started to yell. She started to use some very heavy language. She started to actually cuss, and I was very shocked that there were a lot of kids and that there were a lot of teenagers at that game,” he said. “I just cannot believe that she was just cussing and using those F-bombs in front of all these kids. I’m sure she’s loved in Chicago, and many kids are idolizing her and stuff, but that’s not how a WNBA athlete should react.”
