Flood warnings issued across parts of Cambridgeshire

The flood alerts cover multiple areas of Cambridgeshire where river levels are either high or rising.

Flood alerts have been issued for several areas in Cambridgeshire. There are high and rising river levels across the county with flooding possible throughout today (Friday, December 19).

Some areas around the River Cam are at risk of flooding from Stapleford to Waterbeach. Parts of the River Great Ouse from Brampton to Earith, including Back Brook, Hall Green Brook, Parsons Drove Drain, Swavesey Drain and Wadsbys Folly, might also be affected.

Access to properties on Berry Lane could be affected. People have been advised to move cars out of flood risk areas around Alconbury Brook near Hamerton, The Alconburys, Little Stukeley, and Brampton.

Other areas around the River Kym and River Til from Yelden, and Upper Dean to Hail Weston as well as around the Bury Brook from Abbots Ripton to Ramsey could also flood. The flood alerts are unlikely to be escalated.

The UK government website will update the alerts this evening at around 5pm or tomorrow (Saturday, December 20) at 10am. A spokesperson for the UK government said: “Rising river levels today may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible on 19 December 2025 .

“We are not expecting the situation to escalate, or to issue any further warning messages at this time. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels .

“Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses.”
