White lies are a necessary evil when you have kids. Sometimes you have to lie about how delicious carrots are so they get enough vitamin A, or tell them the doctor isn’t about to give them a booster shot even though they’re hiding the needle behind their back, waiting for the right moment to jab. 2025’s Don’t Tell Larry, though, shows just how quickly a white lie can spiral out of control in the adult world, when the person you’re trying to deceive is a situationally aware but seemingly aloof coworker who’s about to steal your promotion out from under you.
What starts as a small fib snowballs when an ever-increasing body count latches onto a minor misunderstanding made in the name of professional self-preservation. Saving face at work is fine in theory, and something we’ve all done at some point in our careers. Don’t Tell Larry has an incredible amount of fun showing how catastrophically wrong things can go in a dog-eat-dog corporate setting, escalating to absurd levels once the authorities get involved.
Susan Just Wanted Her Promotion
Don’t Tell Larry wastes no time showing you exactly who Susan (Patty Guggenheim) is, and how her personality quickly backfires at the office. She’s earned Employee of the Year eight consecutive times, which makes her the obvious frontrunner for the soon-to-be vacated CEO role when her boss, Bruce Waters (Ed Begley Jr.), announces his retirement. Susan and Bruce have a solid professional relationship, and she’s patiently waiting for the corporate torch to be passed so she can finally take over.
Her life takes a sharp turn when Larry (Kiel Kennedy) is hired, changing her trajectory overnight. Larry is the quintessential weird office guy you feign friendliness with in the hope that if he ever snaps and goes on a rampage, he’ll spare you. When a surprise retirement party is thrown for Bruce, Susan makes the executive decision not to invite Larry. What she doesn’t realize is that Larry is actually Bruce’s son, and Bruce already plans to hand the company over to him as a way of making peace for abandoning him years ago.
Larry’s Ever-Present Menace
Rightfully peeved about being passed over, Susan throws a rock through Bruce’s office window, weakening the glass. Later, when Larry shoves Bruce during a confrontation, the already compromised window gives way, sending him to a fatal plunge. After Bruce falls to his death, Susan enlists her friend and coworker Patrick (Kenneth Mosley) to help cover up her involvement, but Larry is onto them.
To make matters worse, Detective Kim Hammer (Dot-Marie Jones) suspects foul play, though she can’t quite piece together what happened until she reviews the security footage, which has conveniently gone missing.

Meanwhile, more violent workplace incidents pile up, leading to additional deaths that Susan is convinced Larry is responsible for. Larry, never losing his odd charm, plays suspiciously unaware of the carnage that follows him, even as it becomes obvious to Susan and Patrick that he’s eliminating coworkers in increasingly gruesome fashion. Detective Kim, however, has every reason to believe Susan had something to do with the inciting incident that started this entire mess.
A Perfect Comedy Of Errors
The lesson in Don’t Tell Larry is simple: sometimes it’s better to tell the truth, even if the short-term consequences feel life-altering. Had Susan not lied about the party, Larry might not have seen her as an adversary and might not have retaliated after discovering the deception. Or maybe everything would have unfolded the same way. Bruce had already chosen Larry as his successor, and Susan’s jealousy was bound to surface eventually, likely leading to a similar disaster.
Half the fun in Don’t Tell Larry comes from watching forced pleasantries in a corporate white-collar setting peel back to reveal just how cynical everyone really is. Between the backstabbing, both literal and figurative, you discover who your true friends are. Watching Susan and Patrick scramble to talk their way out of being implicated in a string of murders is a twisted version of friendship, even if their loyalty only makes things worse.

Right now, Marvel fans are hyped for Avengers: Doomsday, eager to see their favorite characters fight the good fight against evil once more. Robert Downey Jr. is inexplicably returning to play Doctor Doom, but the real draw of this film is arguably Chris Evans. He retired from being Captain America back in Avengers: Endgame, but he is suiting up again for Doomsday, and MCU fans around the world are itching to see their favorite star-spangled superhero kicking butt and taking names.
But if you want to see Chris Evans leading a fight against the greatest evil humanity has ever faced, you don’t have to wait for Avengers: Doomsday to hit theaters. Snowpiercer (2013) is a movie where the Captain America actor leads what’s left of humanity in a fight for equality against a tyrant determined to rule the world with an iron fist. The revolution will be televised, and all you have to do is stream this film (from Oscar-winning director Bong Joon-ho) for free on Tubi!
He Can Do This All Day
The premise of Snowpiercer is that Earth has been forced into a new ice age by science gone wrong, forcing what is left of humanity to live in a giant train that never stops moving. Unfortunately, the train segregates everybody by class, allowing the rich elite to live a life of luxury at the front of the train while the poor live in abusive squalor in the back of the train. Eventually, one man decides to kickstart a kind of people’s revolution, leading a growing army of disgruntled supporters towards the front, where they are intent on forcing the man in charge of this railway dystopia to finally face justice.
Snowpiercer is a film where some of Hollywood’s greatest actors are taking the same train: Tilda Swinton (best known for We Need To Talk About Kevin) plays an evil minister intent on cutting this rebellion off at its knees. Meanwhile, Ed Harris (best known for The Truman Show) plays the Big Bad of the movie, a transportation magnate who holds the fate of all humanity in his conniving little hands. Finally, John Hurt (best known for Alien) plays mentor to the main character, encouraging a rebellion that could completely change what’s left of the world.
Captain America Like You’ve Never Seen Him Before
The main character is played by Chris Evans (best known for The Avengers), who gives his best non-MCU performance in this dystopian thriller. He never feels like a generic action hero, and you can feel the tortured humanity inside his character rage with every swing of the axe. The character isn’t as squeaky clean as his famous Marvel hero, but in his relentless fight for justice and equality, Evans’ Snowpiercer character channels the best of what made Captain America great.
Snowpiercer was a solid hit at the box office, earning $86.8 million against a budget of $40 million. Despite this success, the film never got a proper sequel, and director Bong Joon-ho would later go on to helm the Academy Award-winning horror masterpiece Parasite. However, he still found time to executive produce the Snowpiercer television series, which would go on to be nominated for a Primetime Creative Arts Emmy.

A Thriller That Never Phones It In
When Snowpiercer premiered, it hit professional reviewers with all the force of a grain hurtling through the post-apocalypse. On Rotten Tomatoes, it had a rating of 94 percent, with critics lauding the film for its ambitious scope and action-packed execution. They particularly praised the film as an alternative to the effects-driven blockbusters that made Chris Evans a household name, so it’s particularly pleasing to see him get back to basics in a movie that dares to redefine the entire sci-fi/action genre.
Part of what makes Snowpiercer so magical is that it is directed by Bong Joon-ho, who has mastered the art of creating movies with a message that never feels overly preachy. His Best Picture winner Parasite, for example, is a movie you can enjoy for its trenchant social commentary or as a taut thriller whose tension can be cut with a knife. Snowpiercer works the same way: the film clearly has plenty to say about class consciousness and economic oppression, but it’s entirely possible to just enjoy this as a fast-paced action movie where Captain America finally starts fighting dirty.
Given the combination of a talented director and veteran actors, it won’t surprise you that Snowpiercer is full of unforgettable performances. Even better, these famous faces fully disappear into their roles, their celebrity status never disrupting the immersive nature of this subversive film. This is a movie where class warfare comes to life in the most brutal possible way, and these actors help pack an insane amount of worldbuilding into a runtime of just over two hours.
The Best Worldbuilding Since Mad Max: Fury Road
Speaking of worldbuilding, this movie does such a great job of fleshing out this fictional universe that it helped inspire four seasons of a fan-favorite television show. This allows franchise newbies the best of both worlds: if you love the movie enough, you can dive into the TV show and maybe even the graphic novel (Le Transperceneige) the entire franchise is based on. Alternatively, you can enjoy the film as a singular experience, one in which Chris Evans and other big names give some of the most impressive performances of their careers.
Whenever you’re ready to be impressed, you can stream Snowpiercer for free on Tubi. It’s a crowd-pleasing film with both practical effects and beautiful visuals, and it has more commentary on economics and politics than you’ll get out of an entire semester of Political Science. Best of all, it’s perfect for Marvel fans who want to whet their appetite for Avengers: Doomsday with the most intense movie that Chris Evans has ever made!
10 years ago, most people had never heard of A24, but now it’s one of the most prominent movie studios in Hollywood. A24 has what every other studio could only hope for, which is a distinct identity. A24 may not be consistently producing billion-dollar blockbusters year after year, but the studio is almost always in contention with a few movies when Awards season comes around. The studio also works with some of the biggest stars in Hollywood — just this weekend, A24 will work with Twisters and Top Gun: Maverick star Glen Powell for How to Make a Killing, the thriller from John Patton Ford that also stars Margaret Qualley. A24 also has The Drama coming out soon. The film stars Zendaya and Robert Pattinson.
However, as with any studio, A24 has some misses every year. Last year, one of its biggest misfires — both critically and financially — was Eddington. The contemporary Western is set in May 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and follows a standoff between a small-town sheriff and a mayor that sparks a powder keg, pitting neighbor against neighbor. The film was written and directed by Ari Aster, and it stars Pedro Pascal alongside Joaquin Phoenix and Emma Stone. A24 spent $25 million on the production of Eddington, but the film grossed only $13 million at the box office. However, Eddington is streaming on HBO Max around the world, where the film has landed in the global top 10 in more than 15 countries. The film has finally found its audience despite a poor box office performance.

Over on the TV side of things, HBO is living up to its mantra as the premier home for prestige TV. “A few lessons I learned over last 365 days,” he added. “Acceptance is suffering’s antidote. Our minds are the OG algorithm. Since splitting, Alba and Warren have both moved on to new partners.
Alba is dating actor Danny Ramirez, and the actress hasn’t been shy about showing off their relationship publicly. The pair were recently spotted packing on the PDA during a beach outing just days ago.
Meanwhile, Warren is seeing model Hana Sun Doerr and has also been making public appearances with her.
Despite the age gap in both relationships, neither Alba nor Warren is said to have any issues with it. Sources also claimed that the former couple is reportedly glad they have both moved on to new partners.
“The age difference [with their younger partners] is not a big deal,” a source told Us Weekly at the time. “They think it’s common in Hollywood, so there’s no issue. They are cool with each other dating.”

“They’re happy for each other,” the source added. “There’s no negativity or bad feelings. They’re still good friends and just want each other to be happy. And they aren’t judging each other.”
Kevin Costner on the red carpet with an image of a man behind him.Image via Janet Mayer/INSTARimages.com
Kevin Costner is one of the most popular movie stars in the world, and it all dates back to his dual Oscar-winning work with Dances With Wolves. Costner arrived as a star in the 90s with other performances in The Postman and The Bodyguard, but in the later stages of his career, he became even more famous for his work in Taylor Sheridan’s most popular series. Costner first put on his boots to play John Dutton in Yellowstone in 2018, and he spent the better part of 10 years playing the character before his final performance in 2024. Costner’s relationship with Sheridan may have started on solid ground, but by the end of the show, it’s clear he was ready to move on to other projects.
However, long before Costner ever had the task of wrangling duties at Yellowstone ranch, he starred in a classic historical epic that’s aged like fine wine. In 1991, Costner starred as the legendary archer in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, which follows the legendary outlaw who faces off against the brutal tyranny of the Sheriff of Nottingham. Morgan Freeman, Alan Rickman, and Christian Slater star alongside Costner in the film, and it was directed by Kevin Reynolds with Pen Densham and John Watson working on the script. Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is not streaming anywhere in America at the time of writing, but globally, the film is charting in the Netflix top 10 in several countries around the world. It grossed $390 million at the box office against a $48 million budget.

Kevin Costner’s ‘Robin Hood’ Has Aged Better Than Russell Crowe’s
Kevin Costner is far from the only actor to bring the legendary tale of Robin Hood to life on the big screen. Russell Crowe also teamed up with Ridley Scott to do the same thing back in 2010, but most fans would agree that Costner’s film did a much better job handling the story. Crowe recently went public, criticizing how Robin Hood was brought to the big screen, noting that more than 15 minutes of scenes were cut from the final cut. Robin Hood (2010) is currently streaming on HBO Max, and there’s also a TV version now streaming on MGM+ starring Game of Thrones veteran Sean Bean.
