BTC Will Hit $1M By 2030... But Arthur Hayes Is Buying ETH Instead

Bitcoin has all the factors in place to a seven-figure price over the next four years, according to BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes.

But he’s buying ETH right now, because he believes it could easily do a “3x to 5x pretty quickly.”

On the latest episode of Trade Secrets, Hayes says the collapse of the AI bubble, “massive” money printing, and potential US yield curve control are among some of the reasons why Bitcoin could go to $1 million by 2030

“We have the ingredients. The time is now. So I think the $58,000 was probably the bottom in Bitcoin, and now it’s going to grind higher in this hate fuck rally,” the 41-year-old billionaire says.

Hayes’ prediction comes just a couple of weeks after 10x Research head of research Markus Thielen told Trade Secrets that reaching that figure by 2030 was “mathematically impossible.” He argued that the amount of capital inflows Bitcoin saw over the past 15 years that pushed it to the current price suggest it has little chance of attracting the trillions in inflows over the next four years required to reach $1 million.

Arthur Hayes loses interest in Hyperliquid

While Hayes is still bullish on Bitcoin, he is less optimistic than he once was about Hyperliquid’s future upside d.

Bitcoin is up 22.15% over the past 30 days. (CoinMarketCap)

“I don’t think there’s that type of asymmetry in the price right now. Everybody knows that Hyperliquid is here,” he says. “It’s not an it’s not this like unknown thing that’s outperforming expectations, right? […] There are massive expectations now on Hyperliquid.”

“That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not going to go up in price, but I think there’s better risk-reward at least for the capital at Maelstrom to deploy into the shitcoin space than Hype,” he says.

The comments come shortly after US President Donald Trump said the US is working to bring Hyperliquid into the country. However, Hayes, who was pardoned by Trump in 2024, now says the president has little influence over crypto asset prices.

“It’s irrelevant. What Trump says or does is irrelevant. Look at what Bessant does. Read the Treasury, read the Fed, read the monetary authorities. Like Trump is just a very entertaining politician, but he has no effect on the price of Bitcoin,” Hayes says.

Hayes also questioned whether Trump would be willing to spend the political capital required to push through crypto legislation such as the CLARITY Act, particularly when other issues matter more to the average voter. He suggested that the “median under-sighted voter” does not care about the legislation.

Hayes ‘feels excellent’ about BitMEX shutdown

Hayes began his career as an equity derivatives trader at Deutsche Bank and Citibank in Hong Kong after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008.

Hayes co-founded the pioneering crypto derivatives exchange BitMEX in 2014 alongside Ben Dolo and Samuel Reed. The exchange recently announced it would be shutting down on Sept. 23 and urged users to close positions and withdraw funds before the deadline.

Hayes says it “feels excellent” that the exchange is shutting down on its own terms.

“We shut it down because we wanted to shut it down, not because we got hacked,” he says, adding that it is the “best way” to go.

“We landed the plane on our own terms,” he adds.

Hayes says that competition is now so fierce that running a crypto exchange now is “really a mug’s game” unless you have the scale of a major player like Binance or OKX.

“There’s no point in even playing because it’s just so expensive to secure it, so expensive to run the tech in the data centers, like it doesn’t make any sense as a business,” Hayes says.

Hayes’s number one pick is Ethereum

Hayes says that his “number one pick” at the moment is Ethereum. “I think that is a better risk-reward for a spare unit of fiat that’s gonna be deployed into crypto than Hyperliquid,” he says.

“That doesn’t necessarily mean that Hyperliquid won’t rise in price. I just don’t think it’s poised for a 5x, and like where I think Ethereum could do, you know, 3x to 5x pretty quickly,” he says.

“Everybody hates it. It’s the one megacap crypto that has not eclipsed its 2021 all-time high.”

Hayes points out that it is the base layer for DeFi and, while “hated” for many reasons, is long overdue for a surge. “I think now it’s time to perform because it’s been so beaten down and so forgotten. And we saw it rip 20% when Bitcoin ripped,” he says.

ETH Leads the RWA Boom, But Can It Break Its Last Cycle High?

Published

on

Ethereum controls 45% of the $38.69B tokenized RWA market, but the ETH price trades near $2,367 amid consolidation and bearish Iran news.

Ethereum might be down by 3% today, but the news that actually matters isn’t the price; it’s the $17.5 billion sitting on its rails. But dominance in tokenized assets hasn’t translated into dominance in price momentum.

Tokenized real-world assets crossed $38.69 billion in distributed value as of late August 2026, with Ethereum controlling nearly 45% of that market. It’s more than triple BNB Chain’s $5.8 billion and quadruple Solana’s $4.0 billion.

RWA Stats, Defillama

Securitize and Ondo, the two largest tokenization platforms, are both built primarily on Ethereum. BlackRock’s BUIDL fund launched there before expanding to seven other chains. The institutional trust layer is Ethereum’s, full stop.

But institutional trust and chart momentum are different games. ETH has spent the last 48 hours grinding inside a tight range, and the question traders are actually asking isn’t about RWA share.

Can Ethereum Price Hit $2,800 This Week on This RWA News?

ETH is trading at $2,360, down 3% in the past 24 hours, with intraday action bouncing between $2,362 and $2,428. That’s a narrow band for an asset carrying this much macro attention. Institutional accumulation patterns continue even as spot price cools, which is the kind of divergence that usually resolves loudly in one direction.

Ethereum (ETH)

The key technical marker is $2,550, described across multiple analyst notes as the ceiling standing between current consolidation and a real breakout attempt. Support layers sit at $2,438, then $2,383, then $2,350. A weekly close above $2,438 keeps the bullish September setup intact and opens a path toward $2,800–$2,920. Lose $2,350, though, and the chart likely exposes the $2,200–$2,000 zone next.

ETH’s relative strength against BTC will probably decide which scenario wins.

Maxi Doge Targets Early Mover Upside as ETH Price Tests Key Levels

ETH holders staring at a fourth straight day of range-bound chop have earned the right to feel a little restless. Consolidation below $2,550 isn’t a collapse, but it isn’t conviction either.

At Ethereum’s size, even a clean breakout to $2,800 is a modest percentage move compared to what early-stage tokens can offer. That’s the rotation logic pushing traders toward presale plays right now.

Standout features include holder-only trading competitions with leaderboard rewards and a dedicated Maxi Fund treasury for liquidity and partnerships. Dynamic APY of 65% for staking is now live for early buyers.

Why Is a Coinbase Co-Founder Chasing Venezuelan Oil Fields?

Published

on

Oil has risen back above $90 for Brent Crude. Image Source: Trading Economics

Coinbase co-founder Fred Ehrsam wants to run at least three Venezuelan oil fields. Bloomberg reported the bid, citing people close to the private talks.

The blocks sit in the Orinoco Belt, and Trump officials are already weighing whether to strip the current operator, Alvorada Heavy Industries, of its contracts.

Inside Ehrsam’s Push for Venezuelan Oil Fields

Ehrsam is no stranger to Caracas. He has traveled there repeatedly since May. His meetings covered oil, gas, fintech, and digital payments, Bloomberg said.

The oil talks run through Primavera, a company he co-founded to invest in Venezuela. Ehrsam has said nothing publicly, and Primavera declined to comment.

His access is unusual for a crypto founder. Ehrsam ran Coinbase as president until 2017 and still sits on its board, Paradigm says. He also advises the White House on science and technology.

Barrels are the slow part. Venezuela holds the world’s largest proven reserves at 303 billion barrels, OPEC data show. It still pumped only 783,000 barrels a day in 2023.

Recovery will not be quick. Rystad Energy expects national output to grow 17% by late 2028. That is roughly 194,000 extra barrels a day.

“Execution, not geology, remains the key constraint,” read an excerpt in a Rystad Energy upstream research.

The payments side of his pitch could move faster. Venezuela is moving toward formal dollarization, which widens the market for dollar rails.

Washington Reshuffles Venezuela Oil Contracts

Energy Secretary Chris Wright landed in Caracas late Tuesday, the Department of Energy said. He is expected to present as many as 17 oil and gas agreements.

The state deal sets the terms any newcomer must accept. A White House fact sheet dated August 31 grants North American Blue Energy Partners 100-year concessions on 17 fields.

Those fields hold about 65 billion barrels. US territory holds roughly 46 billion, the fact sheet says.

Washington kept leverage. It took a 35% equity stake in the venture’s parent. It can also buy a fifth of production at cost.

Traders were unimpressed. Brent crude climbed toward $90 after the announcement instead of falling.

Wright’s signings this week will show whether Alvorada keeps its blocks. Only then will it be clear whether Ehrsam is bidding for something available.

E.U. Chief Likens Alleged Russian Drone Plot to 'Terrorism'

Wadephul announced retaliatory measures, relaying that Germany intends to close the Russian consulate in Bonn from Sep. 18. The lease for the Russian House in Berlin, an institute showcasing Russian culture, will be terminated.

There will also be tighter entry controls for Russian nationals and additional pressure will be placed on Moscow’s shadow fleet.

Russia has denied responsibility for the drone plot.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that no evidence for the allegations had been presented, and that “under a completely far-fetched and far-fetched pretext, Berlin has once again escalated bilateral relations,” according to Russian state news agency TASS

In response to the retaliatory actions taken by Germany, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko told reporters Wednesday that Moscow “will respond as we deem necessary, when we are ready for it.”

This came after Russian President Vladimir Putin called the German response a “grave mistake” that “clearly runs counter to the interests of the German people,” according to TASS reporting.

How to Get the Trump $1 Coin: Buy It or Hunt Your Change

Published

TRUMP Price Performance. Source: BeInCrypto

The US Mint began selling the 2026 President Donald J. Trump $1 coin at noon ET Wednesday. A roll of 25 costs $61. A bag of 100 costs $154.50.

Buyers chasing the rare version face long odds. The Mint hid 250,000 coins struck on Independence Day inside those same rolls and bags.

How to Buy the Trump $1 Coin or Hunt One in Change

The bag is the better deal, working out to $1.55 a coin while the roll costs $2.44 a coin, or about 58% more. Both prices sit above face value.

Still, the Mint charges the same $61 and $154.50 for its routine dollar releases. The premium is standard, not a Trump surcharge.

What changed is the size of the run. The Mint capped this one at 150,000 rolls and 50,000 bags. Its 2026 American Innovation dollar offered just 7,350 Philadelphia rolls, roughly 20 times fewer. That release carried no household cap. This one allows two of each.

A privy mark is a small extra symbol stamped into the die. This one reads July 4th. If both products sell out, 250,000 marked coins will spread across 8.75 million, or about 1 coin in 35.

Checking your change may not work yet. The Mint urged buyers to look in their pockets. However, its own campaign page gives a fall 2026 date for circulation. That page also sells the rolls and bags exclusively through the Mint.

Philadelphia started striking the coin in July. The Mint has published no production figures for it so far.

Why a Living President Can Appear on a Coin

One rule is narrower than most people assume. Federal law allows only a deceased person on US currency and securities. Coins sit outside that sentence.

A second rule does cover dollar coins. It bars any living president from the Presidential $1 Coin Program. Treasury went around it by using a different section of the code.

That authority comes from the Circulating Collectible Coin Redesign Act of 2020. The law lets the Mint redesign dollar coins for the 250th anniversary. Trump signed it in January 2021.

Congress tried twice to shut the gap and failed. Representative Ritchie Torres filed the TRUMP Act in October 2025. Senators Catherine Cortez Masto and Jeff Merkley followed with the Change Corruption Act in December.

“If you can’t appear on the U.S. dollar while you’re alive, you shouldn’t appear on any U.S. coins,” said Representative Sam Liccardo, a California Democrat who co-sponsored the bill.

The precedent is a century old. In 1926 the Mint paired sitting President Calvin Coolidge with George Washington on a half dollar. By its own account, no president had appeared on a coin while alive before. That coin marked the 150th anniversary of independence.

Eric Trump Shows Off the Patriot Passport

Elsewhere, Eric Trump posted a short video of a new US passport the same day. He has fronted other Trump branding reveals too. The inside page shows his father leaning over the Resolute Desk, set against the Declaration of Independence.

That book is the Patriot Passport. The State Department released 250,000 more in July after demand climbed. Applicants pay no extra fee.

Getting one takes effort. The department requires an in-person appointment at limited events. Honolulu hosted one on Wednesday. Seattle and Houston follow on September 12.

The launch also confused crypto traders again. Official Trump (TRUMP) is the Solana meme coin tied to the president. It changed hands near $2.21 on Wednesday, down 6.4% over the last 24 hours. The token hit the same mix-up in July when the White House promoted the metal coin.

Buyers of the metal coin now wait on the mail. None will know whether they hold a July 4 strike until the box arrives.

U.S. Mint Begins Selling Trump $1 Coins. Are They Legal?

U.S. Mint Begins Selling Trump $1 Coins. Are They Legal?

Although this will be the first currency featuring Trump to enter production, it is not the first that has been proposed by the Treasury. Earlier this year, Bessent unveiled plans for Trump to appear on a commemorative $250 bill, and the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts voted to approve a 24-karat gold commemorative coin featuring Trump’s face in March.

Democratic lawmakers and coin collectors have questioned the legality of putting a living president’s face on a coin, pointing to federal law that states: “Only the portrait of a deceased individual may appear on United States currency and securities.”

In December 2025, Democratic Sens. Jeff Merkley of Oregon and Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada introduced a bill seeking to block Trump’s efforts to put his face on the $1 coin. Several senators on the Financial Services and General Government subcommittee penned a letter against the coin as well, pointing to how George Washington “strongly opposed having his image on U.S. coins during his presidency, viewing it as a contradiction to the war for independence from Kings.”

Filecoin (FIL) Jumps 15% Daily: Here Are the Next Bullish Targets

Published

on

The cryptocurrency market took another step back today (September 2) as the USA and Iran exchanged more strikes in the Middle East.

Despite that, certain digital assets like Filecoin (FIL) remain in green territory and even posted double-digit increases on a daily scale. Here’s what may come next for the token.

How Much More?

FIL outperformed all top 100 cryptocurrencies today after jumping by 15% and briefly surpassing $0.80. As of this writing, it trades at around $0.77 (per CoinGecko), representing a 25% increase over the past two weeks.

FIL Price
FIL Price, Source: CoinGecko

It remains unclear exactly what triggered the resurgence, but according to numerous market observers, the upward move may not be over yet. X user Crypto GVR recently claimed that FIL is moving toward a zone that could be important for “the next major trend shift.”

The analyst said they are paying close attention to the $0.50-$0.70 zone as “the potential reversal area,” arguing that a strong recovery and strengthening momentum could open the door to a further push toward $2 in the long term.

The Boss also chipped in. The analyst opined that FIL is nearing a major technical decision as its descending wedge has compressed further and price is now much closer to the apex.

“The lower boundary has continued to act as support, while the upper trendline keeps pressure on the recovery. What has changed is the degree of compression. Price is spending more time near the lower part of the structure instead of expanding lower, making the wedge increasingly important,” they added.

The X user claimed that a breakout from the upper boundary would be the “first meaningful structural confirmation,” but until then “the descending wedge remains intact.”

JAVON MARKS was much more bullish. The analyst believes that if FIL continues to hold the key breakout, “sights remain on a major reversal & run,” especially given the improved condition of the crypto market lately. The X user envisioned a 1,200% jump to $2.94, followed by an explosion to $7.50 and $11.40.

“We could be right at the start of this process, right now,” they concluded.

Pullback Ahead?

It is important to note that some market participants used the recent price uptrend to lock in profits. Crypto trader Mehmet GIZIK revealed that he closed his FIL position, resulting in a $10,200 gain.

His decision isn’t illogical, given the asset’s Relative Strength Index (RSI), which briefly rose above 80 and now stands beyond 70. Such readings mean the asset has entered overbought territory and could be due for a correction. On the other hand, anything below 30 is typically viewed as a buying opportunity.

Robinhood Memecoin Buys Coded as Digital Media: Will Visa Force a Change?

Published

on

Cash App Turned a TikTok Trend Into a $25 Magic Wand— and It Sold Out

Buying a joke coin on Robinhood Wallet now looks a lot like buying a movie. Reported test purchases through payments firm Crossmint posted on Visa and Mastercard as digital media, not as crypto.

One code decides who earns credit card rewards. Chase says the wrong one was used, and it has taken the case to Visa.

Why the Robinhood Memecoin Code Matters

Visa’s rulebook is such that crypto buys must use merchant category code (MCC) 6012 or 6051. They must also carry a quasi-cash flag, which strips most reward points.

Reported tests of dogwifhat (WIF) buys came back as 5815 instead. That code covers books, films and music sold online. Points and cashback posted as normal.

Chase’s own rewards agreement rules out cash-like spending and names cryptocurrency. The bank said the points should never have landed.

Crossmint answers with securities law, not card law. Its help pages limit the product to memecoins it treats as collectibles born from internet memes. Stablecoins and payment tokens stay barred.

That defense has real backing. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) staff called meme coins akin to collectibles in 2025. A March interpretive release then named WIF as an example, next to CryptoPunks. Visa’s manual grants no such exception.

Cutting friction is the entire pitch.

“Apple Pay is something that every iOS user uses in their everyday lives. The experience of buying a memecoin is no different from purchasing your morning coffee” said fomo CEO Se Yong Park.

New York Attorney General Letitia James is reviewing the setup. Her office knows payment rails. It took $45 million from Block in July over Cash App fraud controls. In April it sued Coinbase and Gemini over prediction markets.

WIF traded near $0.19 on Wednesday, down 2% in a day, worth about $197 million in total. Dogwifhat price levels barely moved on the dispute.

The $20 Million Loss That Was Not

A viral post claimed one wallet fat fingered $20 million into Artificial Inu (AI) and lost $19.8 million in seconds. The token is a Robinhood Chain meme coin paired against tokenized NVDA.

That figure came from a price tracker, not the chain. The tracker read one hop of a multi-pool route as a finished trade. Traders who rebuilt the route put the real spend near $650,000, a trace BeInCrypto could not independently confirm.

Robinhood’s tokenized stocks and meme coins push sits under both stories. Easy checkout produced one. Thin liquidity produced the other.

Visa can recode the merchant, warn it, fine it or claw back fees. Each of those endings kills the rewards.
