The latest edition of WWE RAW featured a massive Triple Threat Match. IYO SKY, La Catalina, and Roxanne Perez squared off for a spot in the 2026 Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
In August, IYO SKY and Sol Ruca bested Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez in tag team competition. Meanwhile, Perez entered the match fresh off a victory in a four-way bout in Lucha Libre AAA. The contest also marked La Catalina’s in-ring debut on WWE RAW.

The Genius of the Sky and Catalina briefly worked together to take out The Prodigy at the start of the match. SKY and the AAA champion then displayed their in-ring prowess with fast-paced moves. At one point, SKY and Catalina both dived to the outside, risking it all.

Roxanne Perez later reduced the pace of the match, methodically targeting La Catalina’s limbs. She also hit an impressive Springboard Moonsault on SKY, but the Japanese sensation refused to stay down.
In the final stages of the match, The Prodigy delivered a Frankensteiner to SKY from the top rope. Catalina responded to the move with a Gory Special, but Perez kicked out. The Genius of the Sky seemed set to win the bout after attempting a double Over the Moonsault. However, the 24-year-old Judgment Day member moved out of the way.
Perez ended up pinning the former Women’s World Champion after hitting a Pop Rox out of nowhere. With the win on WWE RAW, the upstart booked her spot in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko has pulled out of Slovenia’s squad as the club’s injury woes compounded on a day of four international withdrawals.
As a result he will now not feature in two Nations League matches against Scotland, plus other games against North Macedonia and Switzerland.
“Manchester United can confirm that Benjamin Sesko has withdrawn from the Slovenia squad ahead of the upcoming three-week international break,” said a United statement.

“Benjamin will undergo tests this week before defining his individual recovery plan.”
Sesko became the fourth United player to withdraw from international duty on Monday, with goalkeeper Karl Darlow similarly leaving the Wales camp despite being on the bench for the Fulham game.

Darlow’s exit was one third of the misery experienced by Craig Bellamy’s side, with Leeds star Harry Wilson forced out due to a quad injury, while Wrexham striker Nathan Broadhead has also been sidelined.
Michael Carrick confirmed Rashford picked up an “issue” at Craven Cottage, with the forward substituted while appearing to be struggling with his hip – which was a persistent issue over the summer.
Midfielder Mainoo, who travelled to this summer’s World Cup but did not play a single minute of the tournament under Tuchel, was also substituted during the closing stages of the draw.

Long-time Bills radio voice John Murphy lost his press-box credential after writing a column regarding new coach Joe Brady for WIVB-TV, which is the official TV station of the team.

Via Alan Pergament of the Buffalo News, Murphy received a text from WIVB sports director Josh Reed two days after the column was posted that Murphy wouldn’t have a seat in the press box at the team’s new stadium.

Said Murphy regarding whether he believed the denial was a result of his column, “I think so, but I don’t know.”
The denial was attributed to a policy against part-time workers getting credentials.
The Bills declined a request for comment from Pergament.
Murphy claims that Bills V.P. of marketing Chris Jenkins told Murphy he’d receive a credential for the season, and that Murphy was shown the seat he’d be using.

Murphy also said that his subsequent column predicting a 10-win season for the Bills wasn’t posted by WIVB, after the station said it couldn’t be published due to pressure from the Bills.
Murphy spent 34 years as an analyst and a radio voice for the Bills. He retired in 2023 after suffering a stroke.
“I feel pretty bad,” Murphy told Pergament. “[WIVB] didn’t fight for me. [The column] wasn’t that bad.”

It’s not currently clear, and never may be known with certainty, whether the Bills retaliated against Murphy. Typically, such motivation isn’t worn on the sleeve of the entity doing the retaliation.

If that’s what’s happening, it would be sad. And it possibly would be a manifestation of the extreme pressure the organization is feeling to justify the decision to fire coach Sean McDermott while promoting Brady and G.M. Brandon Beane.
Oba Femi made his shocking return on tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW. He returned to get his revenge on the Vision. Bron Breakker was set to wrestle Je’Von Evans on tonight’s episode of RAW. After the match, Oba Femi took out the entire Vision.
After the match between Evans and Breakker ended, the Vision began attacking Evans. At that moment, the Ruler, Oba Femi, made his return and took out the entire Vision. He also used Evans as a missile as he threw out the OG to take out the entire Vision. In the end, Femi was standing tall in the ring.

The match between Breakker and Evans was made right after the Vision ran into Je’Von Evans backstage. The Young OG then got Breakker seething after slapping him.

Evans had the upper hand right off the bat. Even when Breakker tried to regain momentum, the Young OG kept fighting back. Despite the Vision’s constant interference, the Young OG continued to have the upper hand. But as RAW went to a commercial break, the Vision interfered yet again, and Breakker finally capitalized. The Unpredictable Bada*s attempted to hit a Spear, but the Young OG countered it with a jumping Super Kick.
The Young OG then climbed up the top rope to hit a cutter, but Austin Theory interrupted. But unfortunately, the referee saw what happened and called for the bell. He ruled this match a no-contest.
Next week, Evans and Breakker will be competing against each other in a Triple Threat to qualify for the Money in the Bank Ladder match.

Cruz and Bravo became the latest Mexican-Puerto Rican boxing rivalry as the Arecibo-born challenger attempted to pull off the upset and intercept Cruz’s looming shot at Dalton Smith’s WBC super-lightweight world title by capturing his Interim strap.
It wasn’t to be for Bravo as Cruz dominated a scrappy affair and twice floored his rival, with the latter being a devastating left-hook that closed the show in style and awarded the Mexican a first win inside of the distance since he won the WBA super-lightweight title against Rolando Romero in 2024.

Despite the damning defeat, Bravo, who had previously never been stopped, told FightHub that he was caught out by Cruz’s awkwardness and size, or lack of, rather than his punch power.
“To be honest, he is not the heaviest hitter. He’s just a little bit uncomfortable with his height, I don’t know. He was a little bit taller on weight day, when he took it off he was a little bit shorter, so there was a couple of shots that I didn’t see coming.
“It’s not as if his hands are heavy, but it’s the shots that you don’t see coming that hurt you. From the first round, he came in with a shot behind the head – it was not on purpose – but that was the shot that really buzzed me from the first-round.”
Jaxson Dart’s night appears to have come to an abrupt end.
The New York Giants quarterback exited Monday’s primetime matchup against the Los Angeles Rams due to a knee injury and was downgraded to questionable.
Dart was hurt on the very first drive of the game, when he threw a pass downfield and took a hit at the end of the play. The Giants QB took a hit from Rams linebacker Byron Young and landed awkwardly, getting wedged between two defenders as he fell to the ground.
As Dart landed, Young also landed on top of him, after which the sophomore was seen clutching his knee in pain. Dart would eventually limp his way to the sideline and then later walk back to the locker room as veteran backup Jameis Winston stepped in for New York’s next drive. Dart completed 3-of-5 pass attempts for 20 yards before he left.

According to ESPN’s Laura Rutledge on the broadcast, Dart did not immediately go to the X-ray room at SoFi Stadium after exiting the field, instead heading to the locker room for further evaluation.
Dart entered Week 2 on the heels of a strong showing in the Giants’ season-opening win over the Dallas Cowboys. He threw for 230 yards and three touchdowns in the 28-20 win and completed 79.3 per cent of his passes.
New York selected Dart in the first round (25th overall) of the 2025 draft, and he was named QB1 by Week 4 of last season, replacing Russell Wilson. The Ole Miss product played 14 games as a rookie, including 12 starts, and threw for 2,272 yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions.
Dart now joins a growing list of promising young QBs dealing with early injuries this season. Washington Commanders’ Jayden Daniels suffered a dislocated elbow in a loss to the Cowboys, while Chicago Bears’ Caleb Williams went down with a hamstring injury.
Jaxson Dart was supposed to lead the New York Giants back to relevance for the first time since the days of Eli Manning in his first full season as a starter. Instead, he may have seen his campaign end prematurely.
During the opening drive of Monday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams, the quarterback landed awkwardly on his left leg after being hit by Byron Young. He was taken out of the game and did not return, with Jameis Winston taking over under center.

In the immediate aftermath of the play, renowned sports doctor Jeff Mueller opined that he may have suffered a severe knee injury:
“There’s a chance this is a multi-ligament injury to his left knee. We’ve seen this in-air hits where the knee whips into extension/valgus. Best case: MCL injury. Worst case: ACL + MCL. I didn’t like how much his knee moved on the in-air contact.”

Vedaant Madhavan’s Asian Games debut ended without a final berth as India missed out on the men’s 4x200m freestyle relay medal race in Aichi-Nagoya on Monday.
The 21-year-old swimmer, son of actor R Madhavan, was part of a mixed day for the Indian swimming contingent, with Srihari Nataraj providing the biggest positive by qualifying for the men’s 50m backstroke final.

Several other Indian swimmers, including Rishabh Das, Akash Mani, Geetesh Shah and Dhanush Suresh, failed to progress from their respective heats.
Vedaant Madhavan misses relay final
Madhavan, Sajan Prakash, Dhakshan Shashikumar and Aneesh Sunil clocked 7:24.32 to finish ninth among 13 teams in the men’s 4x200m freestyle relay qualification round.

The top eight teams advanced to the final, leaving India outside the qualification places.
Who is Vedaant Madhavan?
Vedaant Madhavan is the son of actor R Madhavan and a competitive swimmer who represents India. A freestyle specialist, he has competed at several international meets and has been part of India’s senior swimming setup.
Madhavan won five gold medals at the 2023 Malaysia Open and has also competed at meets in Europe and the United States. He represented Virginia Tech and has continued to train and compete at the international level.

His selection for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games marked another step in his swimming career.
Srihari Nataraj qualifies for 50m backstroke final
Srihari Nataraj emerged as the only Indian swimmer to progress to a final on Monday. The two-time Olympian clocked 25.37 seconds in the men’s 50m backstroke heats. He finished third in his heat and joint ninth overall, recording the same time as Iran’s Homer Abbasi.
Rishabh Das narrowly missed the final after clocking 25.41 seconds. He finished 11th overall and was listed as the reserve.

Akash Mani, Geetesh Shah and Dhanush Suresh eliminated
Akash Mani and Geetesh Shah failed to progress from the men’s 50m freestyle heats.
Mani finished 26th overall in 23.43 seconds after topping his heat, while Shah clocked 23.57 seconds to finish 28th overall.

South Korea’s Youngbeom Kim set a new Games record of 21.71 seconds in the event.
Dhanush Suresh also missed out on the final in the men’s 100m breaststroke. He finished eighth in his heat and 22nd overall with a time of 1:03.46.
Fourteen years ago here, at Medinah Country Club, swimming’s greatest of all time had been following the 2012 Ryder Cup from inside the ropes when his arms started working harder than they would in any pool. The Americans were surging at the finish of day one, and Phelps was slapping hands with anyone he could find to the left of the 17th hole — and his paw hit mine. It was a moment. I remember it. He sure as hell doesn’t. But I’m pretty sure we both left thinking Team USA would win, and I’m pretty positive we thought that even more so the next day.
Three pals and I had driven in on Tuesday night of Cup week. The previous October, one of them told us he’d won a ticket lottery, and he planned everything over an email thread that included Ian Poulter’s name in the subject line and I’ll leave it at that. Entry for the week — for the week — was $680, and I think that gets you in for a day now. We saw a couple practice rounds. We stood near Michael Jordan at one point. Phelps and I connected. I couldn’t leave him hanging.
And we were there Sunday.

We posted up near the 16th green, though we did watch Bubba Watson start the day by calling for the crowd to cheer during his opening tee shot in his match against Luke Donald — who eventually won. The first five Europeans did that day, and the Euros won what has become known as the Miracle at Medinah.
Lot’s changed since then. Some things haven’t.
Just look who’s back at Medinah for this Presidents Cup week. Me. Maybe Phelps; he remains a golf nut. Probably Jordan; he’s still a Chi-town icon.
And interestingly, a third of that American squad — Brandt Snedeker, who’s the captain; and Jim Furyk, Keegan Bradley and Webb Simpson, who are all vice captains.

Let’s make that thought No. 1, then, as we look at the week ahead. The goal is to take things to 18.
2. The Bradley suitcase story also started that week. He’d been given Team USA luggage, packed it — and it’s been unopened ever since. An Instagram post about it from Bradley is below.
3. The week’s biggest change, though, is Medinah itself, following an extensive restoration. GOLF’s wonderful course raters described the new look this way:
Originally completed in 1932, No. 3 was arguably Tom Bendelow’s boldest and finest design, but playing host to major events took a toll as the narrow, heavily treelined course strayed far from its Golden Age roots. OCM removed poorly positioned trees and reverted to Bendelow’s bold bunkering as a unifying theme. The rolling property is once again both striking and spacious, and it’s laced with great holes throughout. The use of a split rail fence (which demarks out of bounds) at holes 5-7 provides excellent strategic tension, and holes 15 and 16 (the Cape 16th is one of five new holes created by OCM) are a blockbuster one-two punch.

4. As for a non-wonderful course rater’s thought? It’ll make for good match-play viewing. There are shots contending with Lake Kadijah, including the tee shot on this week’s 12th hole. [The Presidents Cup starts on hole 5 this week, in order to make sure the traditional closing holes are played.] On holes 1 through 3 this week, there is out-of-bounds fencing all along on the left side. There’s a lot of sand. There’s a 600-plus-yard par-5. Monday afternoon, it was breezy. And muddy, after recent storms. There’ll be some funkiness.
5. The twist in the new-look Medinah? One of the designers is International team captain Geoff Ogilvy. What influence that could have is likely negligible, but it makes for an interesting storyline.
“At the suggestion of U.S. Team Captain Snedeker, a 5-foot-wide collar of 1.5-inch intermediate rough was introduced to frame the fairways, with the cut of rough raised to 4 inches, meaning the likelihood of heavy lies and fliers for approach shots following wayward drives. This also suggests Snedeker’s assumption (or hope) that the U.S. Team will drive with more accuracy than the Internationals.”

7. Let’s name five Americans to watch, and that list starts with Jackson Koivun, who was 7 when the Ryder Cup was here in 2012. There’s no questioning the talent. He won everything in college, and he’s already won on the PGA Tour. How will he handle a national team event? What if he has a moment that wins a match — or the Cup? Where will the hype go then? Of course, he could lose too. On Monday, he played a practice round with Justin Thomas, Wyndham Clark and Collin Morikawa.
8. I think you could say a lot of the same things about Chris Gotterup. On Monday, he played with Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay and Cameron Young. Cash also appeared to be on the line.
9. Will Chicagoans cheer for Wyndham Clark, who’s heard some non-cheers this year?
11.Scottie Scheffler. Every player to watch list should include the world No. 1. He’s also 3-6-3 in the Ryder Cup and 3-5-1 in the Presidents Cup.
12. Let’s name five International players to watch. There will be a Si Woo Kim moment this week. Moments probably. Wins, too.
13. The same thing could be said for Tom Kim, who has made his name in this event.
14. I’m watching how Ryan Fox, the son of a former rugby player, handles an opposing crowd.

15. How many more Presidents Cups will Adam Scott play? This week, the 46-year-old makes his 12th appearance. Will he be a playing captain soon?
16. A few weeks ago, Sungjae Im mailed Justin Thomas one of his “Him Sunjae” sweaters made by Malbon. This must be a Sunday singles pairing. Must.
17. At some point this week, President Donald Trump is expected to be at Medinah.
18. So … who wins?

Hard to say the Americans won’t. The American MVP will be Young. The International team’s will be Nick Taylor.
And here’s what a few of my colleagues had to say when asked in this week’s Tour Confidential what needs to happen for the Internationals to win:
Dylan Dethier: On paper it looks as lopsided as ever — perhaps even more so than usual. But this event does have a habit of getting slightly closer than you’d expect, at least until late on Sunday. It would be awesome for the Internationals to contend; their blueprint for getting there is channeling the energy of Si Woo and Tom Kim plus the unpredictable nature of match play. Look, they have plenty of good golfers too; why not Adam Scott, Min Woo Lee, Ryan Fox, Hideki Matsuyama and Co.? I dunno. I’m hoping desperately for a fun Sunday finish.
Josh Schrock: They need their top players — Hideki, Si Woo, Tom Kim and Adam Scott — to be a firewall and then hope that the match play variance works in their favor in singles. If their big names get beat up, they don’t have a chance.

Zephyr Melton: They need … a miracle? Only kidding (kind of). But without the talent they lost to LIV, along with being without stalwart Jason Day, I just don’t see a path to victory for the Internationals.
