The Queen of Ballads was all smiles at her Paris hotel as she shared a playful moment with her bodyguard. 

The singer wore a brown knitted two-piece: a hooded top and a matching skirt. Her caramel hair was in its signature bun, looking every bit the showwoman as she worked the crowd outside. 

The 58-year-old was seen jokingly throwing some punches at her bodyguard, turning the pavement into her stage. She also did a couple of dramatic dance moves, blowing kisses at the crowd and making the famous ‘call me’ signal with her hands, as seen in images obtained by the Daily Mail.

This is not the first time Dion has turned a post-show fan encounter into an impromptu show. On a different night, she had climbed the roof of a car, singing and dancing along with admirers to her 1995 hit song “Pour Que Tu M’Aimes Encore.”

However, that behind-the-scenes groundwork didn’t extend to a stint on “Dancing With The Stars,” despite earlier speculation.

Professional dancer Derek Hough had a hilarious take on it. He shared an AI-generated photo of himself and the music legend seemingly posing for cast photos. 

“When Céline calls, you answer,” the caption teased, per The Blast. “Just waiting for the call.”  

He added that after an encounter with Dion, he was convinced she would be the perfect dance partner.

What initially looked like an ugly family confrontation involving Milania Giudice, her mother Teresa Giudice, and sister Gia Giudice now appears to have unfolded during a much more serious personal crisis.

A since-deleted video posted by the 20-year-old showed her angrily confronting her family while police officers stood nearby at Tampa International Airport. At the time, the clip offered almost no explanation for why authorities were involved.

Newly surfaced dispatch information, however, paints a more concerning picture. Police were reportedly told Milania had recently been released from a hospital, was experiencing a mental health crisis, and had become separated from a counselor traveling with the family.

Gia eventually told her mother, “Let her do what she wants to do,” before Milania angrily told Teresa to “shut the f–k up.” The video then ended.

Without further context, the exchange quickly circulated as another heated Giudice family moment. However, information released afterward suggests viewers were seeing only the final minutes of a much more complicated situation.

According to the source material obtained by Page Six, authorities had been alerted that Milania had gotten away from the people accompanying her and that a counselor was at the airport with the family.

Police Records Give The Airport Clash A More Serious Context

A computer-aided dispatch log obtained by TMZ reportedly said officers were told Milania was experiencing “suicidal thoughts/mental breakdown” and had recently been released from St. Anthony’s Hospital.

The call came into Tampa International Airport police at approximately 2:20 p.m. Wednesday and was classified as an “Assist Person” incident at the United Airlines ticket counter.

According to TMZ, one dispatch note indicated Milania had gotten away while a counselor remained with an officer, while another said Teresa could see her daughter running through the terminal.

The records also referenced a “possible Baker Act issue.” Florida’s Baker Act allows an involuntary mental-health examination under specific statutory circumstances, including when a person is believed to face a substantial risk of serious harm without intervention.

However, there has been no public confirmation that Milania was actually placed under a Baker Act hold.

Milania was located roughly 10 to 12 minutes later and ultimately returned to the gate. Airport officials told TMZ there was no arrest, no medical transport, and no formal police report generated from the airport call.

The family was also reportedly traveling with a counselor, another detail that was not apparent when the video first circulated.

After Milania was located, she eventually boarded a flight with her family, according to reports.

The latest incident comes during an already difficult year for the University of Tampa student.

As The Blast previously reported, Milania was arrested in New Jersey on May 14 and charged with simple assault following a domestic dispute.

Prosecutors alleged that she struck an individual identified as “LR” in the forehead. Milania has pleaded not guilty, meaning the allegation has not been established as fact.

The late Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, raised eyebrows in royal circles with his tell-all memoir, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister — and according to a source, King Charles III was particularly affected behind the scenes.

“Everyone inside the palace is completely beside themselves that Diana’s brother would publish such lies,” the insider exclusively tells Us, claiming that the British monarch, 77, is “devastated” by the revelations. “He doesn’t recognize the person Charles Spencer is portraying.”

Spencer’s book was published Tuesday, September 22, in which the earl, 62, chronicled his sibling dynamic with Diana before her 1997 death. According to the insider, Spencer’s literary account isn’t “in line with what truly happened” between the former brothers-in-law or “in [the monarch’s] character.”

“Everyone around [King] Charles during that time knows that he was anguished by her passing and it threw him into depression for years,” the source claims. “Only those closest to him know how hard of a time that period was. Insiders are aghast because they know how hard he took it.”

The insider tells Us Diana’s death was “an emotional time for everyone” who knew her or admired her from afar.

“It was a mixture of personal grief and public grief. The personal layer no one saw and there was a lot more that hasn’t been described,” the source notes. “And there was a public layer to give the public what they wanted.”

Swan Song has caused those in the palace “a lot of sadness, anger and hurt,” but not much can be done in response, the insider claims.

“They took the revelations really hard and have felt powerless,” the source alleges. “Those closest to them know the truth, that’s all that matters.”

Days before Swan Song’s publication, Buckingham Palace issued a rare statement addressing its contents.

When he meets Father Paul Hill (Hamish Linklater), the new priest in town, it’s clear there’s something off about the man, with even the story about why he’s there as a temporary replacement being fishy. As strange things keep happening, the town is rocked by the events, and they grow both curious about and enamored with this man who has upended their lives.

Linklater is mesmerizing in the role, and the depiction of the monotony of life in a town of only a few where everyone knows your name shines through in every episode. Beyond the horror angle, Midnight Mass captivates as a deeply emotional look into grief, pain, forgiveness, and trauma. The unsettling undertones will keep you invested through the seven episodes. It’s one of the best Netflix shows released in the last decade.

‘Ripley’ (2024)

This neo-noir psychological thriller miniseries is based on the Patricia Highsmith crime novel The Talented Mr. Ripley, which was also the inspiration for the 1999 movie starring Matt Damon. In this interpretation, Andrew Scott stars as the titular Tom Ripley, a conman who jumps on an opportunity to impersonate someone wealthy and slide into a lavish life alongside Dickie Greenleaf (Johnny Flynn).

Filmed in black-and-white, Ripley is praised for its modern interpretation of the story with a classic throwback style, the performances, and the direction. In fact, the series earned 14 Emmy nominations and won four. It’s a fascinating story about a man intent on living not the life he has, but the one he believes he deserves.

‘The Fall of the House of Usher’ (2023)

The Fall of the House of Usher is such a clever way of interpreting and bringing together the many works of Edgar Allan Poe. The gothic horror drama miniseries frames a narrative around Roderick Usher (Bruce Greenwood), the CEO of a corrupt pharmaceutical company who is grieving the consecutive deaths of all his grown children. We see the dynamic among the family, along with each death, playing out as he recalls the events to the authorities. They all trace back to a mysterious woman known as Verna (Carla Gugino). As you may have noticed, Verna is an anagram of Raven, the subject of one of Poe’s most famous poems.

Each story in the Netflix miniseries is inspired by a different Poe short story or poem, brought together in a thematic way. It might seem disjointed at times, but it all comes together in the end, and might even inspire you to read his works if you haven’t already. It’s a horrifying examination of greed, corruption, and immorality, and the heavy price of success when the bill finally comes due.

‘Baby Reindeer’ (2024)

Baby Reindeer had us in shock when it was released. Once you press play, you’ll be unable to look away for the entire seven episodes. That’s especially true after learning that it’s based on a real story. Richard Gadd, who created the show based on his own experience, plays Donny Dunn, an aspiring comedian and bartender whose friendly banter is mistaken for flirting when the lonely Martha Scott (Jessica Gunning) comes by for a drink. From there, he can’t seem to get rid of Martha. She obsessively stalks him, messaging, calling, showing up at his house, work, even his parents’ home. Her actions become increasingly frightening as time goes on.

In a parallel storyline, Donny makes friends with TV writer Darrien O’Connor (Tom Goodman-Hill), who assures him he has a bright career ahead, but then drugs and sexually assaults him. Tackling heavy topics, Baby Reindeer sheds light on one that doesn’t get enough attention: sexual assault against men. The show is not an easy watch, but it’s an important one.

‘Bodyguard’ (2016)

Technically a BBC series, Netflix struck a deal to distribute Bodyguard outside of the U.K. and England, and that’s good news because it’s six episodes of intense thrills. Right from the opening scene, though quiet and slow-moving, you realize this show is building to something huge. PS David Budd (Richard Madden) is now working as personal security for the Home Secretary Julia Montague (Keeley Hawes) and managing his PTSD, the breakdown of his marriage, and his opposing views to her politics.

That sets a backdrop to the bigger story as terrorist threats loom along with political pressure that puts David at the center of a horrifying and impossible situation. He’s being pulled in every direction and eventually becomes central to the controversy. The episodes slow near the middle but build to an explosive end with a payoff that makes powering through all six installments worth every minute.

‘Safe’ (2018)

When widowed father Tom Delaney (Michael C. Hall) realizes his teenage daughter Jenny (Amy James-Kelly) didn’t come home after a night out, panic sets in. Safe, one of many Harlan Coben projects on Netflix, follows Tom’s frantic journey to locate his daughter. With every piece of the puzzle that is unlocked, the situation becomes more dire, and every person in Tom’s orbit is deemed a potential suspect.

The story takes strange turns through its eight episodes, but the pacing is good, and you’ll find yourself having a tough time stopping halfway through. I watched the entire series during a flight from Toronto to Berlin, fully engrossed in the story. Like Tom, I was desperate to retrace Jenny’s steps and figure out where she went and if she was okay. The show has a somewhat satisfying, if not abrupt, end, but it’s worth the investment of time, especially if you’re a Coben fan.

‘Bodies’ (2023)

Before he was a gutted dad in an impossible situation in Adolescence, Stephen Graham starred in Bodies, a sci-fi mystery thriller miniseries about police detectives in four different decades who are all investigating the same mysterious dead body. It’s all connected somehow, of course, but how the puzzle comes together will leave you shook.

Bodies is based on the Si Spencer graphic novel of the same name, and it’s a great choice to watch if you want something you can binge in a night or over a weekend. The gritty story explores the concept of time travel combined with a murder mystery in a way you’ve never seen.

‘His & Hers’ (2026)

Want a mystery thriller you can watch in one sitting that will have you on the edge of your seat right through to the very end? His & Hers fits the bill. The six-episode story follows the investigation into the murder of a woman in a small town. Detective Jack Harper (Jon Bernthal) is leading the charge, but things get murky when his estranged wife, Anna Andrews (Tessa Thompson), returns out of the blue to put her reporter hat back on and dig into the case, too.

You get a sense right from the beginning that everyone is hiding something, but what? Did one of them murder this woman? Is it someone else close to them, in law enforcement, another small-town resident, or someone from the outside? What was the motive, and why did Anna leave in the first place? It all comes together at the end of the 2026 sleeper-hit show with one of the most shocking TV show conclusions you will have seen in a while.

‘I Will Find You’ (2026)

Harlan Coben does it again with his latest series, another twisty crime drama that will suck you into the plot, even if it is unbelievable at times. David Burroughs (Sam Worthington) is serving time for the murder of his son Matthew (Jasper Rainn Lawrence), but there’s something strange about the case. Not only is David adamant that he didn’t do it — his sister-in-law Rachel (Britt Lower) has come upon evidence to suggest that Matthew isn’t even dead.

You’ll enjoy following the plot in I Will Find You, figuring out bits and pieces of what really happened that night along with the characters. It’s intense and ridiculous at times, but a wonderful guilty pleasure that allows you to suspend belief. It’s like a soap opera with the intensity of a thriller that will have you hooked. With just eight episodes, I Will Find You is a great weekend binge show.

A Florida woman was arrested after she met a man on Tinder and allegedly stole two of his watches, including a $37,000 Rolex, on their first date before she escaped in an Uber paid for by the victim.

Alexia Jocelyn Flores has been charged with grand theft over $20,000 but less than $100,000 following the incident.

Authorities learned of the incident when the victim called police around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 20, to report that a woman had stolen two watches, according to a probable cause arrest affidavit reviewed by Law & Crime.

The man said that he met Flores, 24, when they matched on Tinder. He took her out to dinner for their first date, and he brought her back to his apartment after they had several drinks.

He said that he was on the living room couch when Flores was getting dressed in the bedroom toward the end of the date. He then claimed that he walked her to the elevator and they “kissed goodbye.” Flores then left in an Uber.

Once he got back to his apartment, the victim said he realized that two of his watches were missing from his nightstand. He said that he tried to call Flores about the issue, but quickly learned that she had blocked his number.

The following day, the victim went to the police station and officers administered a six-person photo lineup. As he looked at the photos, he was able to identify Flores as the suspect. The victim also showed authorities the receipt to prove that he had bought the Rolex for $37,000, per the affidavit.

Flores was arrested days later on Wednesday, September 24. While speaking to authorities, she confirmed that she met the victim on Tinder and that they went back to his apartment on the date. However, she denied that she stole the watches.

She claimed that she “could not recall what happened” at the end of the date and said she believed she may have been drugged. The affidavit noted that Flores had not separately reported the alleged drugging prior to her arrest.

Flores is currently in custody at Miami-Dade County Jail, and she is being held on a $7,500 bond.

She has pleaded not guilty to the charge. It’s not currently clear if she has retained legal counsel, while it has not been announced when she will next appear in court.

You’ll Never See Another Alien Invasion Movie Quite Like ‘Signs’

For this author, it’s the entire premise of Signs that just speaks to the soul. The film follows former Episcopalian priest and widower Graham Hess (Mel Gibson) as he struggles to raise his two young kids, Morgan (Rory Culkin) and Bo (Abigail Breslin), in the wake of their mother’s accidental and unfortunate death. With his brother, Merrill (Joaquin Phoenix), by his side, the two start witnessing some high strangeness in their back cornfields as crop circles and odd movement along their small Pennsylvanian farm begin to occur simultaneously with strange heavenly lights making their way throughout the world. As it becomes clear that we are not alone in the universe, Graham’s crisis of faith spirals further as he is forced to come to terms with all the otherworldly occurrences happening around them. Nowhere is safe, and as the invaders begin to close in, there are no more places to hide. For the Hess family to survive, they must learn to read the signs all around them . . .

A deeply personal (and, dare we say, spiritual) take on the “alien invasion” subgenre, Signs is a masterclass in tension, discomfort, and powerful performances from its leading stars, who create such vivid characters that even their oddest behavior is believable. Graham is a man who has only ever been a pastor, but even with that role removed from his life, he finds himself in oddly pastoral circumstances and discovers that he is perhaps the only one who can put all the pieces together to save his family. The chemistry between Gibson and Phoenix is off-the-charts, too, as the brothers perfectly balance out each other’s respective character flaws. Additionally, James Newton Howard‘s haunting Signs score courses throughout the carefully woven moments of personal dread and the hanging threat of global annihilation. The piano keys are just as anxiety-inducing as the alien fingers under the door or the shadowy figure propped on the opposite roof. It’s these small touches that Shyamalan peppers throughout that give the film real character, transforming it into an accidental masterpiece.

‘Signs’ Deserves to Be Revisited on Streaming

For as big as the concept is, Signs is quite an intimate (and even hopeful) film. Yes, it’s about alien invasions, but it’s also about deep levels of grief, regret, moral failing, and faith. Some of those aspects may not be the first things that come to mind when you think about aliens slowly trying to take over the world, and yet, it’s those kinds of movies where the horror feels most real because the characters feel the most real. And that’s true even if there’s a bad CGI alien at the end . . . Some have noted that Signs would have been better if not for some of the strange character choices and oddities present in the kids themselves, but, frankly, as a father to young children, that’s one of the film’s most endearing aspects. Those “goofy” elements are exactly what makes the world of Signs feel so lived in and authentic, even with aliens involved.

Signs is perhaps Shyamalan’s best work, though that may be a bit of a strong statement to some who already have their favorite Shyamalan films ranked. Still, with the alien horror flick trending on Peacock, there’s no better time to give it a rewatch. Signs just works for a fall-themed binge, and for those looking for monsters a bit more out-of-the-coffin than Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster or Wolf Man, then Signs may just be the pivot for you — just don’t expect any monster make-up that looks remotely as good.

At the beginning of A Storm of Swords, George R.R. Martin dedicates the novel to Phyllis Eisenstein, a fantasy writer who convinced him to include dragons in his A Song of Ice and Fire books — and in truth, it’s hard to imagine what Game of Thrones would look like without dragons. In 2023, Martin told Kevin Smith that he originally considered making Targaryens pyromancers, with the ability to wield fire. Fast-forward to House of the Dragon Season 3, and the show now features 16 different dragons, each with unique designs and personalities. These magical beasts have been a trope of fantasy fiction since the conception of the genre, but Martin uses them very carefully — and there seem to be strict rules in the Song of Ice and Fire universe about which characters can actually ride dragons.

House Targaryen Has Always Followed Specific Rules for Dragonriders

There is a distinct difference between House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones regarding Targaryen dragonriders. Martin established a strict set of rules for Westeros’s most powerful house — a rider can only control one dragon, no more, no less. That said, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) seems to be an exception. Throughout history, Targaryens often tamed dragons by confronting them, like Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) did with Vhagar, or placed dragon eggs in the cradles of newborn babies, allowing for an instant bond with their intended rider the moment they hatched. Daenerys poses an interesting case, given that her dragon eggs are hundreds of years old, supposedly fossilized, but when she walks into the burning funeral pyre at the end of Season 1, she emerges with three newborn dragons. As a result, Daenerys shares a maternal bond with three dragons, rather than just one. However, this is with the caveat that Daenerys can no longer give birth to a human child, an unprecedented situation unlike any other Targaryen in history.

Can Daenerys Control All Three of Her Dragons in ‘Game of Thrones’?

While Daenerys is undeniably a mother to Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion, there is a common misconception that she can ride and control all three. Martin’s rules are unwavering, and even Daenerys isn’t an exception to the concept of one rider per dragon. Season 6 proves Drogon is Daenerys’ dragon when she takes flight from Mereen. By the end of Game of Thrones, both Rhaegal and Viserion find new riders in Jon Snow and the Night King, but things are a little more complicated in the Song of Ice and Fire books, where Daenerys must learn more about Valyrian magic before she can fully control her dragon. Drogon is a unique dragon, said to be the reincarnation of Balerion the Black Dread, the fiercest and largest dragon ridden by Aegon the Conqueror. Despite the variety of dragons seen in House of the Dragon, none ever come close to resembling Balerion until Drogon. Drogon adds a symbolic significance to Daenerys, as she has not only brought dragons back into the world but supposedly given birth to a dragon that rivals the ultimate symbol of Targaryen dominance in Westeros.

The Targaryens in House of the Dragon face the opposite problem. While characters like Daemon and Rhaenys (Eve Best) display a great degree of control over their dragons, none ever grow to the same size as Balerion. Vhagar is the only dragon that comes close, and despite being nearly as old as Balerion, she is still smaller. Another big difference between the two series is that while dragons wear saddles and dwell in Dragonstone’s caverns in House of the Dragon, Daenerys’ dragons feature no such equipment and prefer to roam wild until she eventually locks them underneath the Great Pyramid in Meereen. The fact that Daenerys doesn’t require a saddle to ride her dragon could be due to her affinity for Dothraki culture, given the horselords roam the wilderness and ride horses with no saddles.

Daenerys’ Dragons Grow a Lot Quicker in ‘Game of Thrones’

Next to House of the Dragon, Daenerys’ dragons grow a lot quicker than any of her ancestors’. Rhaenyra’s (Emma D’Arcy) dragon, Syrax, is over 30 years old, while Caraxes is roughly 70 during House of the Dragon Season 2. Despite their age, neither matches Drogon in size. Fans often attribute this as a plot hole in the story, but several explanations can account for this. In the Song of Ice and Fire book series, Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion are relatively smaller than their onscreen counterparts, but are expected to grow bigger before Daenerys invades Westeros. Martin originally planned a five-year time jump in his original novels, which would have given Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion ample time to develop into fully-grown dragons. He eventually decided against the time-skip, meaning the dragons would have to develop quicker to be effective assets to Daenerys.

Aside from a literary standpoint, there is an in-world explanation for the size disparity. Game of Thrones is set during a time when magic is returning to the world, partly indicated by the striking red comet seen in Season 2. Both dragons and White Walkers return to Westeros, and Greenseers like Bran (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) unlock new magical abilities. Daenerys’ dragons also seem to grow quicker because a new age of magic has come to Westeros. By contrast, House of the Dragon is set in a time when magic has almost completely died out. As a Dragonkeeper tells Rhaenyra in Season 2, Episode 7, “The dragons are sacred; they are the last magic of Old Valyria in this sad world.”

Most of Daenerys’ dragons meet an unfortunate end in Game of Thrones, but the books will likely play out differently. Rhaegal and Viserion may have completely different riders, given there are more alleged Targaryens alive there than in the show. One thing is for certain: Daenerys is a unique Targaryen who shares a special bond with her dragons, something Daemon (Matt Smith) discovered during his prophetic vision in the Season 2 finale. While her fate onscreen disappointed viewers, the books will hopefully deliver a satisfying conclusion to her story and answer more of the many questions surrounding dragons.
