And there is some good news on that front for the people of Bolton and Bury with a BL postcode – they are some of the statistically most likely people in North West to win on the People’s Postcode Lottery.

Independent website lottery.co.uk, which provides results and information about a range of lottery games, has published data on all of the winning postcode regions in Great Britain since January 2011.

The BL postcode had 362 wins since that date, with 10 districts in the area, covering Bolton (BL1, BL2, BL3, BL4, BL5, BL6 and BL7) and Bury (BL0, BL8 and BL9).

Dividing the number of wins by the number of districts, the town works out at an average of 36.2 wins per postcode district.
