It looks like ur doing a standard deadlift, with one touching and one not.
That was not a stiff leg dl
But why
Literally everything said in this video is false.
I thought the stiff leg deadlift was with stiff legs, meaning not bending at the knees….
István Javorek was born in a Hungarian family in Romania and then went to US later. But nevertheless, I never understood why they are talking so much about the slight (or even not existing) difference between SLDL and RDL. Even if there is a slight difference still the exact same muscles are working.
nah.
Its the same thing bro
To me, this isn't even a stiff Legged, daad lift because he's not keeping his legs straight. He's bending at the knee.
I like sldls better because it let's me reset the bar.
Do you still have movement on the knees with a stiff legs?
Umm why does he say SLDL you go all yhe way down with a straight leg?. But, his leg isn't straight. Could work on the details of being more descriptive.
I thought the idea with RDLs was to work lower back by not bending the knees and keeping the spine straight I've never done stiff-legged deadlifts though
I see almost ZERO difference in the relationship between your hips and knees during the exercise. At no time is your leg even close to "straight". My Stiff-Legged DL has a slight bend in the knee and more of a bending over motion, VS. RDL much more of a squat motion with more bend in the knees and hips moving backwards .
Can you suggest ideas for people who have long overweight torso’s and weak short leg’s only if you are able? Thx
SLDL gotta be with a straight stiff leg eh compared to RDL with slightly bent knee.
Still legged dead lift – (all the way down with a stiff leg) . His is bent like a Romanian DL . I dont see the difference
That first one was just a normal deadlift. Stiff leg is just that..stiff…no bend in the knee. If you don't have the flexibility.. you can't do a stiff leg.
So more time under tension, no break?
I never realized how much of a difference the hip hinge can make in these exercises. Definitely going to focus on that in my next workout.
Great breakdown of the differences between stiff leg and Romanian deadlifts. I always struggled with form on both, but this video really helped clarify things for me.
Needs less knee bend for SLDL
This is the third fitness influencer that I’ve watch for the difference between RDL and stiff leg deads and none of them understand what a “straight leg” is.
I like to do Romanians and then not go all the way up for 10 reps or so so you never get rest on hammys it's constant tension. Learned that from poppa John
ROMANIANS?????
Im so baffled at bodybuilders definiton of what a straight leg is. Cause youre saying the words "straight legs" literally as your knee bends. And lets not even mention pronouncing eastern european last name as if it was spanish, with j sounding like h
Ah yes the stiff legged deadlift the one where I bend my legs a lot right!?
Ok, what about rack pulls for lower back.,? Bcs Romanian looks lots like rack pulls
@lean4ever_ gives a better demo and explanation
One is to build strength and flexibility the other is strictly for bodybuilding purposes
The difference is time under tension and only that
says straight legged and proceeds to have same knee bend as rdl lmfaooooo
Is it me or are his "straight legs down" bent the same the whole time?
It’s really not a dead lift well, except for the first rep
