Woman dies after car crashes into garden fence as police appeal for witnesses

The Vauxhall Corsa driver was pronounced dead at the scene after her car left the road and struck a garden fence in Dunfermline on Wednesday afternoon.

A woman has died after her car left the road and crashed into a garden fence in Dunfermline. The crash happened on Robertson Road, near the junction with Adamson Court, shortly before 3pm on Wednesday, January 21.

Police said a 64-year-old woman was driving a blue Vauxhall Corsa when the vehicle left the carriageway and struck a garden fence. No other vehicles were involved.

Emergency services attended but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The road was closed for several hours while officers carried out investigations and reopened fully at around 7.25pm.

Sergeant Chris Anderson, of the Road Policing Unit in Glenrothes, said: “Our thoughts are with the woman who died in this incident. Our enquiries are ongoing and I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has dashcam or private CCTV footage from the area, to get in touch if they have not already spoken to officers.”
