10 Best ’90s Anime That Are Worth Revisiting

Published

on

Charmander, Pikachu, Squirtle, Ash, and Bulbasaur in 'Pokemon' (1997).

The 1990s was a major decade for Japanese animation. Thanks to media released in the 1980s, such as Akira, anime became more accessible and sought after on the global market, leading to a plethora of shows and films getting overseas dubs. Thanks to blocks like Cartoon Network’s Toonami, younger audiences were exposed to a wide variety of high-quality anime, which lay the bedrock for how globally dominant Japanese animation has become, sometimes even outperforming Western cartoons.

There are so many fantastic programs that premiered between 1990 and 1999—some of which are still ongoing—meaning that, if you’re interested in exploring this era and how it differs from today’s anime, you have your pick of the litter. For the purposes of this list, we will not be including anime that premiered in the late 1980s but ran into the 1990s, such as Ranma 1/2 and Dragon Ball Z, so consider those as very strong honorable mentions.

‘Pokémon the Series’ (1997–Present)

Ten-year-old Ash Ketchum (Hana Takeda, Rica Matsumoto, Veronica Taylor, and Sarah Natochenny) is an energetic boy living in a world full of Pokémon, mysterious creatures that use elemental attacks and who can evolve into larger, more powerful forms. He is given an electric mouse Pokémon named Pikachu (Ikue Ōtani) as his first partner, and after some initially rocky beginnings, they set off to travel the world and battle other strong trainers, so Ash can become a Pokémon Master. He is joined by numerous companions with their own hopes and dreams, and is hounded constantly by members of the criminal organization Team Rocket, who are obsessed with capturing Ash’s Pikachu.

Pokémon the Series is one of the biggest pop-culture icons to come from the 1990s, and played a key role in Pokémon‘s stranglehold on pop-culture during the late 1990s and early 2000s. While later seasons would try to match the rules of the games a bit closer, the original season was more concerned with doing its own thing, which ranged from including real-world animals to Electric-type attacks hurting Ground-type Pokémon. That said, there were also plenty of episodes that evoke strong emotions, like “Bye Bye Butterfree” and “Charmander – The Stray Pokémon,” and there is a lovely sense of nostalgia hearing the original 4Kids actors.

‘Digimon Adventure’ (1999–2000)

Seven young kids attending a summer camp together find themselves pulled into the Digital World, a parallel dimension inhabited by creatures made out of data called Digimon. The kids each receive Digimon partners, and, thanks to mysterious devices, they can temporarily allow their Digimon to transform into more powerful forms. This marks them as DigiDestined: heroes of prophecy who will save both worlds from wicked forces who seek to destroy and dominate all.

While at first Digimon Adventure might seem like a Pokémon knockoff, the two properties have nothing in common aside from transforming creatures. It tells a very solid quest story while managing to give each of its protagonists’ character arcs and believable personalities, including a wide array of home lives, from adoption to overbearing parents and divorced homes. The Digital World is also incredibly creative and detailed, with plenty of seemingly random items and locations, ensuring that each episode offered new surprises.

‘Slayers’ (1995–2009)

Lina Inverse (Megumi Hayashibara and Lisa Ortiz) is a teenage sorceress driven by wanderlust and greed. During her travels, she somehow acquires a group of more good-hearted and altruistic traveling companions, which means Lina often ends up getting roped into saving the world. Over time, she comes to like her friends, and figures that she can still get some gold out of battling the forces of evil.

Slayers offers a refreshing take on the typical high-fantasy quest thanks to its tone. Its high-stakes action is frequently broken up by moments of levity and comedy, from Lina’s petty attitude to hilarious slapstick comedy. The whole thing plays out like a Dungeons & Dragons campaign, complete with half of the troubles that befall the protagonists being of their own making.

‘Yu Yu Hakusho’ (1992–1995)

Yusuke Urameshi (Nozomu Sasaki, Justin Cook, and Darren Pleavin) is a teenage delinquent and street fighter who dies saving a young boy from being hit by a car. However, it turns out his altruism caught the eye of the Underworld’s elite, and he is allowed to come back to life as an Underworld Detective. Aided by his human best friend and two spirits, Yusuke must now investigate supernatural activity on Earth and thwart the plans of evil demons and other malevolent forces.

Yu Yu Hakusho is a stellar example of 1990s shōnen anime thanks to its aesthetic, character dynamic, and gorgeous animation. Its action sequences set a very high bar in terms of brutality and composition, while its characters had a strong camaraderie fueled by their flawed but complimentary personalities. It’s also got a fascinating mythology that pulls from the likes of Buddhism and Japanese folklore and Shintoism.

Your Universe Has Been Chosen
You Belong In…

Your answers point to the iconic universe your values, your instincts, and your particular way of seeing the world were built for. This is where you would find your people — and your purpose.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars

You believe in the cause — in the idea that freedom is worth fighting for even when the odds are impossible and the empire is vast.

  • You are drawn to the moral clarity of a universe where hope itself is a form of resistance.
  • You’d find your people in the Rebellion — a ragtag coalition of true believers held together by conviction more than resources.
  • Star Wars is fundamentally a story about ordinary people choosing to matter in an extraordinary conflict — and that is exactly your kind of story.
  • The Force may or may not be with you. But the will to use it for something larger than yourself certainly is.

Middle-earth

Lord of the Rings

You understand, in the deepest part of yourself, that the journey matters as much as the destination — and that the world’s beauty is worth protecting even at great cost.

  • Middle-earth is a world of ancient wonder, deep friendship, and a darkness that only retreats when enough small acts of courage accumulate.
  • You would thrive here because you value the fellowship more than the glory — the road more than the arrival.
  • Tolkien’s universe rewards patience, loyalty, and the willingness to carry something heavy across a very long distance.
  • Those are not burdens to you. They are simply how you move through the world.

The Wizarding World

Harry Potter

You believe that love, loyalty, and doing what’s right are not naive sentiments — they are the most powerful forces in any world, magical or otherwise.

  • The Wizarding World is a place of wonder hidden in plain sight, where learning is transformative and the bonds you form at school follow you into every battle.
  • You would flourish here because you take both the magic and the friendships seriously — and you understand that one without the other is incomplete.
  • Harry Potter’s universe ultimately rewards those who choose to stand for something even when standing is terrifying.
  • That choice — made quietly, without guarantee — is something you understand completely.

Westeros · The Known World

Game of Thrones

You see the world clearly — its power structures, its hypocrisies, its brutal arithmetic — and you are not paralysed by that clarity. You use it.

  • Westeros is a world that rewards intelligence, adaptability, and the willingness to understand that every alliance is also a negotiation.
  • You would survive here — possibly thrive here — because you don’t confuse the world as it is with the world as you’d like it to be.
  • Game of Thrones is a story about what happens when the idealists and the realists collide. You are sharp enough to know which one lasts longer.
  • Winter always comes. You are already prepared.

The United Federation of Planets

Star Trek

You believe the future is worth building — that curiosity, cooperation, and the expansion of understanding are not just ideals but the most practical path forward for any civilisation.

  • Star Trek is a universe where the questions matter as much as the answers, and where encountering something utterly alien is cause for wonder rather than fear.
  • You would belong here because you are fundamentally optimistic about what intelligence and decency can achieve — while being honest about how hard that achievement is.
  • The Federation is the universe’s most ambitious thought experiment: what if we actually got better?
  • You don’t just hope that’s possible. You think it’s the only thing worth working toward.

‘Sailor Moon’ (1992–1997)

Usagi Tsukino (Kotono Mitsuishi, Terri Hawks, Tracy Moore, and Stephanie Sheh) is your average teenage girl who is visited one day by a talking cat named Luna (Keiko Han, Jill Frappier, and Michelle Ruff). She gives Usagi the ability to transform into a magical form called Sailor Moon, and warns her that an evil organization called the Dark Kingdom has infiltrated the Earth and is draining humans of energy while they search for the powerful Silver Crystal, with which they can resurrect their Queen, Metalia (Noriko Uemura, Maria Vacratsis, and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn). As Usagi learns how to use her new powers to thwart the Dark Kingdom’s plans, she and Luna find other girls who can transform, and receive aid from the mysterious Tuxedo Mask (Toru Furuya, Toby Proctor, Rino Romano, and Robbie Daymon).

Sailor Moon revolutionized the magic girl genre by having female characters who could both stand up to evil themselves and had diverse and multifaceted personalities. Usagi is a good example of this, being a very flawed character who starts off as an underachiever who is terrified of her new responsibilities, but over time develops confidence through interacting with her fellow Sailor Guardians. Aside from its historical significance, the show is still pretty fun to re-visit, blending comedy with intriguing worldbuilding, fun characters, and plenty of visually interesting monsters of the week.

‘Case Closed’ (1996–Present)

Shinichi Kudo (Kappei Yamaguchi, Minami Takayama, Jerry Jewell, Griffin Burns, Mauricio Ortiz-Segura, Alison Viktorin, Wendee Lee, and Molly Zhang) is a teenage genius who uses his analytical mind to aid the police in solving crimes. One day, he is captured by two men in black and fed an experimental drug that was supposed to kill him, but instead reverted his body to six-years-old. Shinichi adopts the alias Conan Edogawa and continues to solve cases alongside private detective Kogorō Mōri (Akira Kamiya, Rikiya Koyama, R. Bruce Elliot, Xander Mobus, and Robert McCollum) and his daughter, Ran (Wakana Yamazaki, Akemi Okamura, Colleen Clinkenbeard, Cristina Vee, and Megan Shipman).

Case Closed, also known as Detective Conan, is one of the longest-running anime, and keeps bringing audiences back thanks to its simple yet brilliant formula. While each episode is a self-contained case, the show maintains plenty of long-running narratives, such as the mystery behind Conan’s attackers, and the romantic tension between him and Ran. It’s also just a ton of fun, with plenty of great mysteries, comedic interactions between the characters, and a wide array of gadgets that Conan uses to make up for his transformation.

‘Neon Genesis Evangelion’ (1995–1996)

In the year 2000, a cataclysmic event called the Second Impact sees the Earth devastated and humanity nearly annihilated. 15 years later, humanity is now under threat by monsters called Angels, which are protected by powerful forcefields. Amidst all of this, 14-year-old Shinji Ikari (Megumi Ogata, Ryūnosuke Kamiki, Spike Spencer, and Casey Mongillo) is summoned by his estranged father to pilot a massive biomechanical mech called an Evangelion, which could be humanity’s only hope against the Angels.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is one of the most revolutionary animes to come from the 1990s. Unlike other giant robot anime at the time, it chose to prioritize the characters over the action, dedicating lots of time to deconstructing its own genre and unpacking the emotional trauma behind each of its protagonists. Plus, it’s gorgeous to look at, with a very sleek and detailed design for the Evangelions that lends itself well to action, and a wide variety of unique and alien designs for the Angels to make them feel properly mythical and horrific.

‘Berserk’ (1997–1998)

Guts smiling with a sword over his shoulder in Berserk (1997).

Guts (Nobutoshi Canna and Marc Diraison) is an enigmatic mercenary who wanders the land wielding a massive sword and a brand that attracts the forces of darkness to him. A flashback reveals that his troubles began when he met Griffith (Toshiyuki Morikawa and Kevin T. Collins), the leader of the Band of the Hawk, who recruited Guts after defeating him in a duel. Over time, the two become friends as Guts helps Griffith achieve his goal of ruling his own kingdom, but a series of betrayals and poor choices sees their fates altered in the most unforeseeable of ways.

Berserk focuses on the manga’s Golden Age Arc, which explains the backstory of the principal characters. Thus, the story is a tragedy of epic proportions, with each character getting enough time to establish them as fully-realized characters with camaraderie and unique dialogue about the meaning of life and the dangers of reckless ambition. It’s also got plenty of epic battles, a gritty dark fantasy world, and a haunting soundtrack that compliments the mature tone.

‘Cowboy Bebop’ (1998–1999)

With the aid of hyperspace gateways, humanity leaves a devastated Earth and spreads itself across the Solar System. This, unfortunately, leads to an increase in crime among the colonies, so the struggling Inter Solar System Police instate a bounty system that will pay registered mercenaries if they bring the criminals in alive. Among these mercenaries, nicknamed “Cowboys,” is the crew of the Bebop, who struggle to get enough bounties to keep themselves fed day by day, while also dealing with ghosts from their pasts.

Cowboy Bebop is often ranked as one of the best animes, and thanks to being only 26 episodes long, it’s also an easy binge. The writing combining elements of space opera, film noir, and westerns into a one-of-a-kind science fiction world that is guaranteed to leave you eager to learn more about it and the complex people who dwell within. It’s also got phenomenal music, courtesy of Yoko Kanno, which at times is used to carry the story in lieu of dialogue.

‘One Piece’ (1999–Present)

Before he was executed by the World Government, Pirate King Gol D. Rogers (Chikao Ohtsuka and Sean Hennigan) announced that his massive fortune, called One Piece, would be available to anyone who can find it first. This sparks a new era of piracy as hundreds of ships sail the seas, headed for the Grand Line, a dangerous sea route that is supposed to lead to One Piece’s hiding spot. Among these treasure hunters are the Straw Hat Pirates, captained by Monkey D. Luffy (Mayumi Tanaka and Colleen Clinkenbeard), a young man who ate a magic fruit that turned his skin to rubber.

One Piece is one of the most recognized pieces of Japanese media, and between its near 30-year run and a live-action adaptation on Netflix, it shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. Audiences remain enthralled thanks to the fantastic worldbuilding and storytelling, as the Straw Hats visit new locations with their own unique cultures and factions, a robust set of powers that ensure characters feel unique, and long-form storytelling that is constantly paying off events setup years ago. Speaking of the characters, the Straw Hats in particular are a fantastic group of protagonists thanks to their diverse skills, flaws, and dreams, resulting in a wide array of fantastic character interactions and developments.

Mason Gooding Discusses Cuba Gooding Jr.’s Parenting

Published

Mason Gooding The Cast of 'Scream VI' visits the Empire State Building

Mason Gooding is promoting several projects. This includes Netflix’s “72 Hours,” in which he stars with Kevin Hart, and his latest movie, “I Want Your Sex.” Recently, the 29-year-old heartthrob opened up about growing up with his famous dad and how he feels the “Radio” star used what he called “speed parenting” because of his busy schedule.

Mason appeared on the “Wildmen” podcast in July 2026, discussing a wealth of topics from his burgeoning career to his life growing up with Cuba as a father. He said of his childhood, “My father was an actor and grandfather [Cuba Gooding Sr.] was a singer.”

He explained, saying, “I have probably a stronger relationship and understanding based on who they were publicly than who they were privately. It wasn’t until I was older that they could — not my grandfather, God rest his soul — but like my dad would have been able to articulate like a lot of the lessons I learned as a kid.”

Regarding Mason’s grandfather, he passed away in 2017 at the age of 72. After that, he spoke specifically about his father’s parenting style, saying, “Cause when you’re a parent who’s an actor, and you’re gone for so long, then you come back, you try to … the word would be speed-parent … cause you come in for a week, and you’re like, ‘Why is that broken? Why are you failing school? Why are you fighting?’”

Mason continued reflecting on his upbringing with Cuba by stating that he was unsure about how to approach their relationship because the man he saw in interviews failed to align with what he witnessed when his dad was home.

According to the young actor, “At the time, I didn’t really understand that relationship ’cause I was like, ‘You’re so positive and charismatic in these interviews, and then you come home, and it’s a different guy,’ and I didn’t get that correlation or lack thereof.”

In reflecting, he stated, “It’s just understanding that that dissonance between who I get at home and who you are on camera will actually be a factor in how I parse out our relationship moving forward.”

Mason seemingly has a complicated relationship with his dad, Cuba. However, he still has fond memories of him, including his sharing sage acting advice. The “Scream 7” star spoke to BET in 2019, first joking that he had a hand in his father’s Oscar win.

He said at the time, “Even though technically he won the Oscar in ’97, I like to think I had some hand in that. Regarding being a good luck charm for his dad, Mason recalled, “He always said that before he got Jerry Maguire [that he] related to the character so much because he had a baby on the way, which was me, and it led up to the perfect time and atmosphere to get the role. All the stars lined up, making it what it was. Here’s hoping that same good luck rubs off on me.”

Regarding the advice Cuba shared, Mason said, “It’s not about blowing it [on camera emotion] out of proportion all the time. He said it’s about holding it down and keeping it down until the perfect moment comes and let it explode from you, and that’s what moves audiences.”

Mason’s first big role came in 2018 when he was cast in the HBO series “Ballers,” appearing in three episodes. After that, was cast in Olivia Wilde‘s 2019 film “Booksmart.” Cuba dished about his son and his early success in a 2018 PEOPLE interview.

He said at the time, “My youngest son Mason just did a stint on Ballers with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as one of the characters in that.” After that, he teased “Booksmart,” saying, “He’s got a new indie movie that he’s starring in.”

Mason’s continued to expand his career with episodic appearances on shows such as “Star Trek: Picard” and “How I Met Your Father” before scoring a role on “Love Victor,” which started in 2020.

Mason’s latest movie, “72 Hours,” was released on Netflix in July 2026. The movie, which also stars Hart, Marcello Hernandez, Teyana Taylor, and Andy Garcia, debuted at number one on the streamer’s top chart. Additionally, his other film, “I Want Your Sex,” is arriving in movie theaters on July 31. His previous movie, a thriller called “The Gates,” was released in March 2026.

According to Deadline, he’s also been tapped to star in an action film, “Last Resort,” which is scheduled to be released in 2028.

The brand recommends using the product once a day for 20 days for best results.

Brand New Day’ Eyes $1 Billion in Phenomenal Global Box-Office Debut

Published

on

Spider-Man-Brand-New-Day-Tom-Holland-2

While there may have been concerns after the utter domination of Christopher Nolan‘s latest epic, The Odyssey, Sony can rest easy as Spider-Man: Brand New Day is tracking to deliver a humongous box-office haul in its opening weekend. Both movies feature Tom Holland; he plays the titular character’s son in The Odyssey and everyone’s favorite web-slinger in the upcoming superhero movie. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is Holland’s fourth solo film as the character; he has now played Spider-Man in more movies than any other actor. But the new movie has big shoes to fill, especially after the landmark performance of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which grossed around $260 million domestically and approximately $600 million worldwide in its opening frame back in 2021. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is projected to beat these numbers.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the movie has received excellent early reactions and is currently sitting at a “Certified Fresh” 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie has already earned more than $100 million worldwide in pre-sales. By comparison, Spider-Man: No Way Home ended its run with more than $1.9 billion worldwide without getting a China release. The middle movie in the previous trilogy, Spider-Man: Far From Home, grossed more than $1.1 billion globally, while Holland’s first solo Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: Homecoming, made nearly $900 million worldwide. All three previous movies were made by Jon Watts, with the third installment earning the best reviews. Spider-Man: No Way Home, which also brought back Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire‘s versions of the superhero in a euphoric team-up, holds a “Certified Fresh” 93% score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes.

Netflix’s Hit ‘Yellowstone’ Replacement Series Is Officially Taking Over Streaming

Coming off the well-received Little House on the Prairie, which is still charting worldwide, Netflix is re-engaging the Yellowstone fanbase with the second season of Ransom Canyon. Starring Minka Kelly and Josh Duhamel, Ransom Canyon is perhaps the most overt attempt that Netflix made to lure the Yellowstone loyalists away from Paramount+. The streamer famously passed on Taylor Sheridan’s magnum opus, which has become something of a platform-defining hit for Paramount+ and has spawned numerous spin-offs. The most recent Yellowstone sequels, Dutton Ranch and Marshals, have emerged as hits in their own right.

There is a massive audience for neo-Westerns out there, and Netflix can’t just be a spectator in this gold rush. Ransom Canyon premiered in April 2025 to solid viewership but lukewarm reviews, with many calling it a pale imitation of the real deal. The first season holds a 45% score on Rotten Tomatoes, where the consensus reads, “Inviting one too many unflattering comparisons to more compelling dramas, Ransom Canyon is a serviceable binge for fans of rustic soap operas but a middling example of the genre.”

Collider Exclusive · Taylor Sheridan Universe Quiz
Which Taylor Sheridan
Show Do You Belong In?

Yellowstone · Landman · Tulsa King · Mayor of Kingstown

Four worlds. All of them brutal, complicated, and built on power, loyalty, and the price of survival. Taylor Sheridan doesn’t write heroes — he writes people who do what they have to do and live with the cost. Ten questions will reveal which one of his worlds you were made for.

01

Where does your power come from?
In Sheridan’s world, everyone has leverage. The question is what kind.

02

Who do you put first, no matter what?
Loyalty in Sheridan’s universe is always absolute — and always costly.

03

Someone crosses a line. How do you respond?
Every Sheridan protagonist has a line. What matters is what happens after it’s crossed.

04

Where do you feel most in your element?
Sheridan’s worlds are as much about place as they are about people.

05

How do you feel about operating in the grey?
Nobody in a Sheridan show has clean hands. The question is how they carry the dirt.

06

What are you actually fighting to hold onto?
Every Sheridan character is fighting a war. The real question is what they’re defending.

07

How do you lead?
Authority in Sheridan’s world is never given — it’s established, maintained, and constantly tested.

08

Someone new arrives and tries to change how things work. Your reaction?
Every Sheridan show has an outsider disrupting an established order. Sometimes that outsider is you.

09

What has your position cost you?
Nobody gets to where these characters are without paying for it. The bill is always personal.

10

When it’s over, what do you want people to say?
Sheridan’s characters all know the ending is coming. The question is what they leave behind.

Tulsa King

⚖️
Mayor of Kingstown

You are a Dutton — or you might as well be. You understand that some things are worth protecting at any cost, and that the modern world’s indifference to history, to land, to legacy, is not something you’re willing to accept quietly. You lead from the front, you carry your family’s weight without complaint, and when someone threatens what’s yours, you don’t escalate — you finish it. You’re not cruel. But you are absolute. In Yellowstone’s world, that combination of ferocity and loyalty doesn’t make you a villain. It makes you the only thing standing between everything that matters and everyone who wants to take it.

You thrive in the chaos of high-stakes negotiation, where the money is enormous, the margins are thin, and the wrong word in the wrong room can cost everyone everything. You’re a fixer — the person called when a situation is already on fire and needs someone with the nerve to walk into it. West Texas oil country rewards exactly what you are: sharp, adaptable, unsentimental, and absolutely clear-eyed about what people want and what they’ll do to get it. You’re not naive enough to think this world is fair. You’re smart enough to be the one deciding who it’s fair to.

You are a Dwight Manfredi — someone who has served their time, paid their dues, and arrived somewhere unexpected with nothing but their reputation and their wits. You adapt without losing yourself. You build loyalty through respect rather than fear, though you’re not above reminding people that the two aren’t mutually exclusive. Tulsa King is for people who are still standing when everyone assumed they’d be finished — who find, in an unfamiliar place, that they’re more capable than the world gave them credit for. You don’t need a throne. You build one, wherever you happen to land.

You carry the weight of a system that is broken by design, and you do it anyway — because someone has to, and because you’re the only one positioned to do it without the whole thing collapsing. Mike McLusky’s world is for people who are comfortable operating where there are no good options, only less catastrophic ones. You speak every language: law enforcement, criminal, political, human. That fluency makes you invaluable and it makes you a target. You’ve made your peace with both. Mayor of Kingstown belongs to people who understand that keeping the peace is not the same as being at peace — and who do the job regardless.

The second season, which debuted on Netflix on July 23, has already found a spot on the global top 10. According to FlixPatrol, the show replaced the holdover hit I Will Find You to claim the number one spot on Netflix’s domestic viewership chart. Netflix revealed that the show’s second season debuted with 4 million views in its first week. However, the reviews are still not where Netflix would like them to be. The second season currently holds a 40% score on Rotten Tomatoes. By comparison, Dutton Ranch is sitting at a “Certified Fresh” 89% score on the aggregator, while even the worst-rated season of Yellowstone — Season 1 — managed a 58% score. Netflix’s Little House on the Prairie, which offers an alternative to the Yellowstone prequels 1883 and 1923, currently holds a “Certified Fresh” 80% on the aggregator. The consensus for the show reads, “Little House on the Prairie dusts off the 70s and enters a new era of conscious creation and adaptation, striking the right balance between nostalgia and inspiration to craft a new and enlivened path for itself.”

Ransom Canyon Season 2 is streaming no on Netflix. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.

Noah Kahan Shares How He Stays Focused On Health Goals

Published

on

Noah Kahan at Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 Opening Ceremony, Vancouver, Canada - 8 Jan 2025

Singer Noah Kahan is opening up about his health journey like never before.

In a new interview, the 29-year-old detailed his new routine and shared the “ultimate cheat code” that’s helped him stay committed and focused on his goals.

Elsewhere in the interview, Noah Kahan, known for his single “Stick Season,” also got candid about how he protects his mental health, crediting his therapist for helping keep him “healthy” while he’s out on the road.

While speaking with E! News, Kahan said he’s recently approached his fitness journey with a different perspective, stating that while he’s on his “own health journey,” he’s trying to find foods and drinks that not only taste good but also make him feel good.

Consequently, Kahan has been drinking probiotic soda, which he said he “loves,” and he gushed about its “natural” taste, which doesn’t make him feel sick or bloated. “It’s just a really good probiotic soda,” he said.

Noah Kahan Shares The ‘Ultimate Cheat Code’ He’s Discovered While On His New Journey

Kahan explained that swapping unhealthy foods for foods that still let him scratch his craving itch has made a huge difference in his day-to-day life.

“The ultimate cheat code in life is to find the vices that are inconsequential to your health, right?” he said.

And while the “Great Divide” singer has been enjoying various foods that taste just as good as his previous unhealthy snacks, he said he’s learning how to enjoy his new finds without feeling guilty.

“And sometimes I feel like I have to stop myself when I’m drinking [one of my probiotic sodas]. I’m like, ‘I’m doing something bad,’ and I’m worried that my old middle school principal [is] watching me or something. And it’s like ‘No, this is good for you, and it’s good, and those two things can coexist at the same time,” he said.

Noah Kahan Previously Said He’s Spent Too Much Time ‘Hating’ Himself

This isn’t the first time that Kahan has spoken freely about his struggles with health and wellness. While appearing on Jay Shetty’s “On Purpose” podcast, the indie-folk singer said he’s spent a majority of his life wishing he were someone else.

“I worry that I’ve just wasted so much time hating who I am,” he confessed. “Like I wake up and I’m like, ‘Why do I feel like s–t?’ I’m pissed. It’s a beautiful morning. The birds are f—ing chirping. It’s beautiful outside. Career success aside, I have this lovely little life, and I wish I could wake up and not be miserable for no reason; it feels like, sometimes.”

Kahan went even further, telling Shetty that he’s battled body dysmorphia, a mental health condition in which a person can’t stop thinking about perceived defects or flaws in their appearance, according to the Mayo Clinic, since he was young. He even detailed it during the Netflix documentary “Out of Body.”

“It really came out in the documentary, and watching that back is like, even my mom was just like, I had no idea,” he said. “It’s just this thing that is there within me. And yeah, really difficult concept because it’s so tied up in who you are and the feelings you’ve had since you were a kid that it’s hard to describe the body dysmorphia problem succinctly. It’s complicated, man.”

How Is Kahan Taking Care Of Himself While Touring?

Kahan is currently on “The Great Divide” tour, stopping in cities across the world and performing some of his biggest hits for thousands of fans.

He told E! News that to help keep his body and soul in tip-top shape, he’s taking extra precautions, such as speaking to a therapist once a week.

“I [also] make sure I’m staying healthy in the gym and eating well as well as I can. I like to journal and just kind of like try to remind myself of different gratitudes I have for all of it,” he said.

Kahan Is Learning To Be Honest

And speaking of gratitude, Kahan explained that while he’s experienced an abundance of that on his current tour, he’s also learning not to be “locked” in that place, adding that it’s just as important to be honest about his feelings not only with himself, but with those around him.

“The dialogue I have with my band and my crew, my family; always being open and honest, and just letting kind of how we feel be part of the discussion every day,” he stated. “We have a really serious backdrop of mental health on this tour, and that’s been really special.”

You may have noticed that we love comfy, easy-going fashion pieces, especially in the summertime. If we could, we’d always wear bohemian chic clothing that feels effortlessly cool, relaxed and rich — and clearly, we’re not the only ones. Everyone from ‘It’ girls to celebrities like Sienna Miller, Katie Holmes, Jessica Alba and more are donning ’70s-inspired styles for the season, making it the trend to watch (and copy).

As a little refresher, ’70s summer fashion is all about loose, billowy clothing with floral patterns, ruffles, lace and other folky accents that feel true to the bohemian era of peace and love. And while the style can skew a bit costumey, these high-end-looking options are anything but. We only pulled items that look trendy yet can weave into your existing summer wardrobe. Plus, they’re from brands you and A-listers love, like Free People, Gap, Mango, Topshop and more.

15 Trending ’70s Summer Fashion Pieces

1. Our Favorite: Feel groovy and modern at the very same time when you slip on this floral maxi dress. The puffed sleeves, tiered skirt and vintage-esque color palette feel just right in 1976 and 2026.

2. Laid-Back Luxe: Crochet tops may be super popular right now, but they were also a huge trend in the ’70s. Amplify the woven pattern with a drawstring front and bell sleeves, and you’re ready to hit the local record store.

3. Top Seller:
While we love a classic blue denim look, these beige bell bottoms feel more aligned with the free spirit vibes. The high waist and extended leg style looks like something Farrah Fawcett would totally wear.

4. Soft Statement: Peasant-style tops may be synonymous with cottagecore vibes, but that trend is really part of an old-school revival. This peasant-inspired dress delivers a vintage appearance that we could see being worn to outdoor concerts and farmers’ markets alike.

5. Everyday Essential: Another style Fawcett wore? Raglan tees. They’re cool, chill and so ’70s. We love the red cap sleeve moment, however, it also comes in blue and brown options.

Apparently, Simone Biles and Avril Lavigne have unfinished business from Taylor Swift‘s wedding!

The world-class gymnast attended the very private wedding ceremony between the singer and her NFL player beau, Travis Kelce, earlier in the month, and is revealing that a famous vocalist parted with one of her prized possessions.

Simone Biles attended the wedding at Madison Square Garden, accompanied by her husband, Jonathan Owens, and dressed to impress in a stunning red number by Vietnamese designer Đỗ Long.

The Olympic medalist detailed the unexpected moment she discovered her expensive eyewear was no longer in her possession as she enjoyed the night at Swift and Kelce’s wedding ceremony.

Biles and her NFL player husband joined hundreds of other celebrities from the sports and music world to witness the lovebirds exchange their vows. On Sunday, July 26, during an appearance at the Faces of Fitness festival in Chicago, the athlete revealed that Lavigne might have unknowingly left the venue with her prized eyewear.

As shared by US Weekly, she added that she eventually reached out on Instagram with a light-hearted message asking if the accessory could be returned, but she does not think the “Complicated” singer has seen it yet. Biles’ story about her missing eyeglasses continues to complete the puzzle of things that may have gone down at Swift and Kelce’s union.

The Olympic Gold Medalist’s Dress Won Hearts At The ‘Shake It Off’ Singer’s Wedding

While her eyewear remains unreturned, the athlete can take solace that her statement-making dress left a lasting impression on internet users.

The outfit, which includes a halter neckline with a half-open back, created an optical illusion of rippling chainmail, with layers of leather interwoven with silver metallic jewels and red eyelets.

Biles paired her look with silver accessories, matching purses, and heels, styling her hair in a high bun with a side-swept fringe detail. Owens matched her aesthetic in a burgundy-and-black suit, prompting fans to gush endlessly about their flawless styling and appearance.

“The epitome of perfection. You’ve earned it all! Truly stunning and pure grace,” impressed fans wrote, declaring that Biles has set the bar high for beauty.

Tom Cruise Left The Biggest Impression On The Wedding Guests Per Marcello Hernández

Swift and Kelce’s wedding was a gift that kept on giving, and it did give two guests an unexpected brush with Tom Cruise. During an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” alongside Kevin Hart, Marcello Hernández said the biggest surprise of the night wasn’t the star-studded guest list but getting the chance to chat with Cruise.

The SNL comedian shared with host Andy Cohen that the two bonded over growing up in households surrounded by women, calling the conversation one of the highlights of the evening. As noted by PEOPLE, Hart then jokingly teased Hernández for supposedly sneaking videos despite the wedding’s no-phone policy.

Hernández quickly laughed it off and insisted he never broke the rules, even playfully addressing Kelce to clear his name. Former NFL star Greg Olsen also had a memorable encounter at the superstar’s wedding.

In his podcast, days after the wedding, Olsen said he remembers that at the cocktail hour, Cruise went out of his way to compliment his hat, and a conversation started outside the men’s restroom that lasted but a few moments.

The American sports commentator detailed another memorable moment at the duo’s wedding, which began as soon as the groom laid eyes on Swift for the first time while she took a walk down the aisle. Appearing on The Athletic’s Starkville podcast, the veteran sportscaster recalled that Kelce became visibly emotional throughout the ceremony.

USA Today noted that Buck recalled the NFL star first tearing up as his nieces walked down the aisle before becoming even more overwhelmed when Swift made her entrance. Buck also commended the length, sincerity, humor, and personal commitment in the couple’s vows.

He revealed that the ceremony felt genuine, leaving him convinced the July 3 celebration at Madison Square Garden was the couple’s official wedding rather than a symbolic event. The reception was equally special, as he had the chance to meet Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Scarlett Johansson.

Paul McCartney’s “I Want to Hold Your Hand” was another highlight of the night for the media personality. He noted that despite an estimated 1000 people present, he spent the night wondering who would come along and tell him he was not supposed to be there.

Not just for the happiest days of their lives, Swift also showed up for Biles during one of the lowest moments of her career as a gymnast. As reported by The Blast, when Biles announced her decision to step back from several events at the Tokyo Olympics due to mental health reasons, Swift was there to lift her.

The singer praised Biles’ courage in a promotional video, commending her willingness to be so open about her struggles. She described that move as a remarkable part of her encouraging story and journey, which has made her a champion and an inspiration.

Biles responded to the gesture, thanking Swift for her thoughtful words, which moved her emotionally. Swift added that the gymnast’s lifestyle had taught her valuable lessons about resilience and emotional strength.

Since making that decision in 2021, Biles had remained open about mental health topics and prioritized therapy. Although she made a remarkable return and dominated the charts at the Paris Olympics, winning three gold medals and one silver, she is still on the fence about competing in 2028.

Harry Jowsey is embracing a new era after gaining fame as a playboy on multiple dating shows.

The reality TV star is the male lead in Netflix’s latest dating show, “Let’s Marry Harry,” which premieres on August 5. As the name suggests, it follows Jowsey’s journey to find a wife.

As for why Harry Jowsey finally decided to settle down, a heartbreaking incident became the turning point of his life. He opened up about the tragedy and more in a new heart-to-heart interview.

The “Too Hot to Handle” alum has starred in multiple dating shows, but he doesn’t believe his efforts to find love make him a playboy. “It couldn’t be more inaccurate,” Jowsey declared, noting that he accepted the title in the past before realizing it wasn’t the real him.

Jowsey accepted that he hadn’t “shown up in the most respectful ways,” but at 29 he could no longer maintain the flirtatious womanizer persona. However, age wasn’t the primary reason the entertainer decided to change; he credited his father’s passing with his epiphany.

His dad died from a terminal illness in 2024, with Jowsey telling US Weekly the moment was the wake-up call he needed to change. “Being with my dad as he passed and having a final conversation with him saying, ‘I wish you could meet my children,’ was such a humanizing experience,” he recalled, adding:

“[I was like,] ‘This is something I’ve neglected and something I need to put energy and time into.’”

The Reality TV Star Became Serious About Love Following His Dad’s Death

Jowsey explained that losing his dad made him realize it was time to be more serious about life and love. Additionally, watching his sisters enjoy their husbands’ support while grieving and having their children be “the best distraction” from the pain fueled his motivation to settle down.

“Everyone has a moment where it clicks, and unfortunately mine was my dad dying,” Jowsey lamented. When asked if his parents’ divorce and tumultuous relationship had affected his perspective on love, the entertainer confessed there was a time he thought love needed friction.

According to Jowsey, in his early 20s he believed if his partner wasn’t yelling at him, then there was something wrong in their relationship. But these views changed when he started going on dating shows, and realized love didn’t have to be like his parents’ relationship.

More About The Netflix Star’s New Marriage Show

Jowsey made good on his decision to shed the playboy image by starring on Netflix’s new marriage show. “Let’s Marry Harry,” set to premiere on August 5, follows the TV personality’s journey to find a wife among 20 potential suitors.

Entertainment Weekly reported that the streaming giant described the show as “The Bachelor” meets “Too Hot to Handle,” but with a twist. Instead of relying on his own judgment to find a wife, Jowsey’s longtime pals would help him find the perfect match.

“Dancing With The Stars” alum Amanda Kloots, “Too Hot to Handle” star Georgia Hassarati, and abstract artist Sonny Henty star alongside Jowsey to help him find a wife. The unscripted series is produced by Alex Cooper’s Unwell company, with executive producers Matt Kaplan, Mina Lefevre, and showrunner David Friedman.

The Entertainer Once Declared He Was Willing To Settle Down For A Renowned Singer

The buzz around Jowsey’s new reality TV show started last year, with The Blast reporting that he claimed he would happily tie the knot with a particular singer. In September 2025, he was stopped by reporters at LAX airport, who questioned him about the upcoming show.

The TV personality declared he was fully committed to walking down the aisle but admitted the contestants might not stand a chance if Sia joined the show. He described the “Chandelier” hitmaker as one of the most “incredible people” he knew, implying they had a close relationship.

On the other hand, Sia gave mixed vibes about tying the knot with Jowsey. Earlier that year, she promoted the marriage show on social media, calling women to apply to be the entertainer’s wife. “I’m signing up and so should you… He’s a dream,” she captioned the post.

Before deciding to settle down, Jowsey had been in multiple relationships. While starring on the New Zealand dating show “Heartbreak Island” in 2018, he began dating fellow contestant Georgia Bryers and won the season they were competing in.

PEOPLE reported that the reality TV star claimed they drifted apart because Bryers didn’t like the attention Jowsey received from women. He moved on with Francesca Farago while filming season one of “Too Hot to Handle” in 2019, but they split that same summer.

Although they reconciled months later, the duo parted ways a second time in 2020. Then Jowsey enjoyed a summer romance with influencer Julia Rose in 2020, followed by Georgia Hassarati in 2022 and Jessica Vestal in 2023, among others.
