10 Best Gothic Horror Books of All Time

Published

on

Gothic horror is one of the most enduring subgenres. Aesthetically, it usually features decaying castles and eerie landscapes. The plots typically involve ghosts or ancient curses, the themes touch on madness and isolation, and the atmosphere is one of relentless, creeping dread.

The genre also thrives on ambiguity and emotional intensity, often keeping us guessing as to whether supernatural forces are genuinely at work or if we are merely witnessing the reflections of fractured minds. With all that in mind, and without further ado, here are the finest gothic horror novels ever written, ranked.

‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’ (1890)

“Each of us has heaven and hell in him.” After the handsome young Dorian Gray wishes that his portrait would age in his place, his desire is mysteriously granted. While Dorian remains eternally youthful, the hidden painting gradually reflects every cruel act, selfish decision, and moral transgression he commits throughout his life. This simple premise sets the stage for a surprisingly thoughtful meditation on the price of unalloyed hedonism. Here, outer beauty and inner desolation go hand in hand.

The atmosphere is immersive, and the aesthetic is decadent, very much channeling the Gothic mood. At the same time, The Picture of Dorian Gray still shows off author Oscar Wilde‘s talent for wit and humor. The dialogue also frequently gets philosophical, challenging Victorian ideas about beauty, morality, and identity. A brilliant statement on vanity and the misguided quest for eternal youth.

‘Something Wicked This Way Comes’ (1962)

“By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes.” Something Wicked This Way Comes is one of the very best books by genre legend Ray Bradbury. When a mysterious carnival arrives in a quiet Midwestern town just before Halloween, teenage friends Will Halloway and Jim Nightshade discover that its attractions grant visitors their deepest desires, but always at a terrible cost. Presiding over this sinister spectacle is the enigmatic Mr. Dark, who seems to feed upon human weakness and regret.

This one’s a little different, in that it relocates the Gothic sensibility to a more modern setting, yet Bradbury makes it work. In particular, he ensures that the carnival feels simultaneously magical and deeply unsettling. It embodies the Gothic fascination with temptation and hidden corruption lurking beneath beauty. At the same time, underneath the darkness, Something Wicked This Way Comes is simply a great coming-of-age story, with protagonists who feel real.

‘The Fall of the House of Usher’ (1839)

Cover of The Fall of the House of Usher Image via Signet Classics

“I felt that I breathed an atmosphere of sorrow.” In this grim gem from Edgar Allan Poe, an unnamed narrator visits his childhood friend Roderick Usher at the family’s decaying ancestral mansion, only to find both the house and its inhabitants consumed by grief and tragedy. As strange events unfold, the boundaries between supernatural horror and madness become increasingly impossible to distinguish. Likewise, the crumbling mansion appears almost alive, reflecting the mental deterioration of the Usher family itself.

The setting is immersive and delectably creepy, all dark corridors, eerie silences, and storms lashing the windows. Whether readers interpret its events as supernatural or psychological, the overwhelming sense of decay and inevitable destruction never weakens. On release, this book was way ahead of its time, and it remains remarkably readable for something published in 1830. Its influence can be found in countless haunted-house stories and psychological horror novels.

‘Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’ (1886)

The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde book cover Image via Omni Publishing

“Man is not truly one, but truly two.” This archetypal ‘split identity’ story was penned by Treasure Island‘s Robert Louis Stevenson. In it, respected London physician Dr. Henry Jekyll develops a chemical formula capable of separating the opposing aspects of his personality, allowing his darker impulses to emerge in the violent and increasingly uncontrollable figure of Edward Hyde. Through the investigations of lawyer Gabriel Utterson, readers gradually uncover disturbing clues and piece together the mystery.

Although often remembered for its famous twist, Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde has a lot more to offer than just that. On top of the compelling plot, it powerfully captures Victorian anxieties surrounding repression and the need to appear respectable. Indeed, Hyde embodies the darker instincts that civilized society attempts to suppress but can never entirely eliminate. The book’s central metaphor has become so deeply embedded in popular culture that “Jekyll and Hyde” continues to symbolize humanity’s divided nature.

‘The Turn of the Screw’ (1898)

“I was giving pleasure, if he had his way.” In The Turn of the Screw, a young governess accepts a position caring for two orphaned children at an isolated country estate, where she becomes convinced that malevolent spirits are attempting to corrupt her young charges. Yet no one else appears to share her certainty. Every ghostly encounter can be interpreted either as genuine supernatural activity or as evidence of the governess’s deteriorating mental state.

Author Henry James uses this ambiguity to create a palpable sense of dread and unease. In other words, rather than relying on overt scares, James allows suspicion and uncertainty to accumulate until even ordinary interactions become deeply unsettling. The isolated country house becomes a pressure cooker of emotional repression. Ultimately, although relatively lean at about 200 pages long, this book is layered and complex, lending itself to endless analysis and interpretation.

‘The Shining’ (1977)

The Shining - 1977 - book cover Image via Vintage

“Monsters are real, and ghosts are real too. They live inside us.” As with Something Wicked This Way Comes, The Shining proved that the Gothic tradition could still work in a modern setting. The main character here is Jack Torrance, an aspiring writer hoping to rebuild his life after struggles with alcoholism. He accepts a job as winter caretaker of the isolated Overlook Hotel, where he and his family soon discover that the hotel’s violent past still lingers within its walls, exerting a sinister influence over anyone who stays there.

The Overlook’s corrupting influence feels like a homage to The Haunting of Hill House. Like the ancestral mansions and castles of earlier novels, it possesses a disturbing sense of history, as though every dark thing that happened there continues echoing through the present. It’s unclear where the hotel’s influence stops and the character’s inner demons begin. Indeed, Jack’s substance abuse issues were inspired by some of Stephen King’s own experiences.

4

‘Frankenstein’ (1818)

Frankenstein book cover Image via Oxford University Press USA

“Beware; for I am fearless, and therefore powerful.” Frankenstein is a Gothic masterpiece, as well as one of the foundational works of science fiction. Obsessed with unlocking the secrets of life itself, Victor Frankenstein succeeds in creating a living being from assembled body parts. Horrified by his own achievement, he abandons his creation, setting in motion a tragic cycle of rejection, revenge, and unimaginable suffering.

The aesthetic is Gothic to the core, all towering mountains, icy wildernesses, violent storms, and decaying laboratories. Countless books and movies since have borrowed from it. This could have just been a simple horror story, but Mary Shelley instead uses the premise to explore profound questions around scientific responsibility and what it truly means to be human. The book remains a cautionary tale about man’s hubris and tendency to create inventions it cannot control.

3

‘Rebecca’ (1938)

Rebecca - 1938 - book cover

“Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again.” Before Hitchcock made it into a masterful film, Rebecca was a great novel. After marrying the wealthy widower Maxim de Winter, an inexperienced young woman moves into his magnificent country estate, Manderley. There she discovers that the memory of Maxim’s first wife, Rebecca, continues to dominate every room, every servant, and every aspect of the household, particularly through the unsettling devotion of housekeeper Mrs. Danvers.

Writer Daphne du Maurier cleverly uses Gothic conventions to delve deep into emotional insecurity. The unnamed narrator constantly compares herself to Rebecca’s seemingly perfect legacy, creating an atmosphere where psychological pressure becomes every bit as terrifying as physical danger. Likewise, Manderley itself feels haunted not by ghosts but by memory. Every revelation gradually reshapes readers’ understanding of the characters while deepening the tension.

‘The Haunting of Hill House’ (1959)

“Whatever walked there, walked alone.” One of the great masterpieces of 20th-century horror. In The Haunting of Hill House, Dr. John Montague invites a small group of volunteers to investigate the paranormal reputation of Hill House, a mansion long associated with unexplained deaths and supernatural disturbances. Among the guests is Eleanor Vance, whose loneliness and vulnerability make her particularly susceptible to the house’s mysterious influence.

Author Shirley Jackson steadily crafts this simple setup into one of the finest haunted-house stories of all time. The writing is rich throughout, making you feel like you can really see Hill House and feel its coldness. What’s also amazing is how little ghostly activity there actually is in this book, yet it still feels so scary. You’re constantly waiting for something terrible to happen, even when things seem calm.

‘Dracula’ (1897)

“The blood is the life.” Dracula is the definitive Gothic horror novel, practically spawning the entire vampire genre by itself. The story begins with the young solicitor Jonathan Harker traveling to Transylvania to assist the enigmatic Count Dracula with a property transaction. In Dracula’s shadowed castle, Harker discovers that his host is an ancient vampire preparing to bring unimaginable horror to England. The Count’s influence spreads, and Professor Abraham Van Helsing undertakes to stop him.

Here, Bram Stoker brilliantly combines nearly every defining element of Gothic fiction: a sinister castle, ancient curses, forbidden knowledge, supernatural evil, crumbling traditions, thinly-veiled sexual repression, and an atmosphere saturated with dread. Then there’s also the book’s epistolary structure, composed of journals, letters, newspaper articles, and telegrams, which went on to be influential. All this makes for a chilling and deeply compelling story of light versus darkness and superstition versus modernity.

Camp Crystal Lake · Friday the 13th

Jason Voorhees

Jason is relentless, but he is also predictable — and that is the gap you would exploit.

  • He moves in straight lines toward his target. He doesn’t strategise, doesn’t adapt, doesn’t outsmart. He simply pursues.
  • Your ability to keep moving, use the environment, and resist the panic that freezes most victims gives you a genuine edge.
  • The Crystal Lake survivors were always the ones who stopped running in circles and started thinking about terrain, water, and distance.
  • You think like that. Which means Jason, for all his indestructibility, would face someone who simply refused to be where he expected.

Haddonfield, Illinois · Halloween

Michael Myers

Michael watches before he moves. He is patient, methodical, and almost impossible to detect — until it’s too late for anyone who isn’t paying close enough attention.

  • But you are paying attention. You notice the shape in the window, the car parked slightly wrong, the silence where there should be sound.
  • Michael’s power lies in the invisibility of ordinary suburbia — the fact that nothing ever looks wrong until it already is.
  • Your spatial awareness and instinct to map every room, every exit, and every shadow before you need them is precisely the quality Laurie Strode had.
  • You are not a victim waiting to happen. You are someone who already suspects something is wrong — and acts on it.

Elm Street · A Nightmare on Elm Street

Freddy Krueger

Freddy wins by getting inside your head — using your own fears, your own memories, your own subconscious as weapons against you. That strategy requires a target who can be destabilised.

  • You are harder to destabilise than most. You’ve faced uncomfortable truths about yourself and you haven’t looked away.
  • The survivors on Elm Street were always the ones who understood what was happening and chose to face it rather than flee from it.
  • Freddy’s greatest weakness is that his power evaporates in the presence of someone who refuses to give him the fear he feeds on.
  • Your psychological resilience — the ability to stay grounded when reality itself becomes unreliable — is exactly the quality that keeps you alive here.

Derry, Maine · It

Pennywise

Pennywise is ancient, shapeshifting, and feeds on terror — but it has one critical vulnerability: it cannot function against someone who genuinely stops being afraid of it.

  • The Losers Club didn’t survive because they were braver than everyone else. They survived because they faced their fears together, and faced them honestly.
  • You ask the questions others avoid. You look directly at what frightens you rather than turning away.
  • That directness — the refusal to let fear fester in the dark — is Pennywise’s worst nightmare.
  • It chose the wrong target when it chose you. You are exactly the kind of person whose fear tastes like nothing at all.

Chicago · Child’s Play

Chucky

Chucky’s greatest advantage is that nobody takes him seriously until it’s already too late. He exploits the gap between how something looks and what it actually is.

  • You don’t have that gap. You take threats seriously regardless of how they present — and you never make the mistake of underestimating something because of its size or appearance.
  • Chucky relies on surprise, on the delay between recognition and response. You close that delay faster than almost anyone.
  • Your instinct to treat every unfamiliar thing with appropriate scepticism — rather than dismissing it because it seems absurd — is the exact quality that keeps you breathing.
  • Against Chucky, not laughing is already winning. You are very good at not laughing.

“The Real Housewives of Orange County” OG Vicki Gunvalson is reminding people that she built the franchise from the ground up. In a new interview, the outspoken reality star commented on the franchise’s newest cast, “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island,” and accused them of being inauthentic and desperate for attention.

While chatting with Page Six, Gunvalson, who just returned to season 20 of “RHOC,” slammed the new cast of “RHORI” as “very aggressive.”

“I didn’t even know who they were,” she said. “I was like, ‘Hi, bye. You’re all fighting. I’m staying away from that.’”

Gunvalson recently crossed paths with the Ocean State women while filming scenes for the upcoming “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th” special.

The cast, featuring Alicia Carmody, Rosie DiMare, Ashley Iaconetti, Liz McGraw, Rulla Nehme Pontarelli, Kelsey Swanson, and Jo-Ellen Tiberi, will appear in the finale episode, which was filmed at Dorinda Medley’s Massachusetts estate.

Vicki Gunvalson Has Choice Words For The ‘RHORI’ Cast

Based on the trailer, two of the women, Swanson and DiMare, bump heads, forcing Medley to tell them to get their acts together or be removed.

“It’s like, ‘The cameras aren’t here. What’re you guys doing? Shut up. This is my show. We are here for Season 20, ‘Ultimate Girls Trip,’” Gunvalson said. “It was just awkward.”

Gunvalson, who first appeared in season 1 of “RHOC” in 2006, finished by giving the women of “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island” a bit of advice.

“Be authentic,” she said. “Would you do this in real life? Because if you wouldn’t do it in real life, what are you doing it on camera for?”

Vicki Gunvalson Was Asked To Return To ‘RHOC’ During BravoCon 2025

Gunvalson’s return comes seven years after she departed the series in 2019. Host Andy Cohen asked her to make her comeback during BravoCon 2025, per the Daily Dish, and she gladly accepted.

While accepting the Wifetime Achievement award in 2023, Gunvalson reflected on her time on the series, thanking not only her co-stars but also the fans for their unwavering support over the years.

“None of this would be possible without all the fans who supported me and loved me through all the s—t that I had. It has not been easy,” she said.

According to a previous report from The Blast, Gunvalson said she was more than excited Cohen asked her to return because she had started to believe her time as a full-time cast member had come to an end.

“He’s sending me off into the wilderness by myself without an orange. And when he said that, I kind of lost all where I was. And he goes, ‘Please say yes.’ And I said, “I think I’m getting my orange.’ He goes, ‘We want you back full-time.’ And I just thought, ‘Thank you, Jesus.’ Because I miss filming. I missed my girls. I missed the joy of being an Orange County Housewife,” she said.

Bravo Is Celebrating 20 Years Of ‘The Real Housewives’

Another report from The Blast details the upcoming 20th-anniversary special, which will feature a group of seven All-Star housewives traveling across several states to hang out with beloved cast members from the past and present.

Throughout the upcoming batch of episodes, more than 80 “Real Housewives” alums will appear, including the iconic NeNe Leakes.

Leakes, who has been estranged from Bravo since 2022 after suing the network and Cohen, opened up about her return in an emotional video, thanking everybody who played a role in her comeback.

“This has been a really long, long journey, and gosh, I’m happy, overjoyed to say that I will be returning to Bravo,” the mother of two said in an Instagram video. “I almost can’t believe the words that are coming out of my mouth. I’m so happy. I’m excited to see all of you girls. It’s going to be a time. Yes! B-tches, I am back. Now pick your faces off the floor. OK!? See you on Bravo. Love you.”

Chaotic 90s Revenge Comedy On Tubi Is A Bully’s Worst Nightmare

Chaotic 90s Revenge Comedy On Tubi Is A Bully’s Worst Nightmare

By Robert Scucci
| Updated

1991’s Killer Nerd is exactly what it sounds like. If you need me to spell it out in a little more detail, it’s about a nerd… who kills people. That’s literally the whole thing. It’s Revenge of the Nerd, singular. But what is he getting revenge for? That’s the problem with films like Killer Nerd: this guy’s life isn’t great because he goes out of his way to make it not great. And when he realizes things aren’t going well for him, he gets very angry and makes everybody else pay for it.

Sometimes you get lucky and stumble across a film that functions as a form of wish fulfillment. Revenge arcs, or stories about somebody taking matters into their own hands, are inherently satisfying because you can live vicariously through these characters. Killer Nerd is no such movie because you go into the film hating the guy, and only continue to like him less as you get to know him better.

It’s Always The Quiet Ones

Killer Nerd 1991

Killer Nerd tells the story of Harold Kunkle (Toby Radloff), a socially awkward misfit with no friends, no romantic prospects, and a domineering mother whose character archetype will be familiar to anybody who knows serial killer lore.

At work, Harold is ignored by his crush Sally (Heidi Lohr) and constantly mocked by his coworker Jeff (Richard Zaynor). On his way to and from work, he’s tormented by drug dealers TJ (Niko DePofi) and Leelee (Tony Zanoni).

Killer Nerd 1991

One night, while moping around, Harold sees an infomercial for Slick Dicks’ School of Cool, which, for the low, low price of $79.95, promises to turn him into a babe magnet, or something to that effect. The biggest takeaway from the tapes is that Harold should get a cool (read: terrible) haircut and dress like a washed-up lounge singer.

As you’d expect, Harold’s sudden makeover, along with his attempts to be too cool for school, is not received well, which only leads to more bullying. Harold then learns that Sally and Jeff are hooking up, and even the two women he meets at a nightclub while sporting his new look, Jenny (Lori Scarlett) and Lilac (Elizabeth Quinn), are similarly repulsed by him.

Killer Nerd 1991

Refusing to be “that guy” anymore, Harold snaps and, as the title suggests, becomes the Killer Nerd we’ve been waiting for.

That’s Really All There Is To It

If you’re looking for a slow buildup of rage that leads to its obvious and inevitable conclusion, Killer Nerd might be a satisfying watch. Personally, I could never get fully invested because there’s really nothing to latch onto. Harold starts off as a bitter, lonely man, and the movie ends with him as a bitter, lonely man who’s now also a murderer. It never quite makes it into full slasher territory, but his rampage does come with a considerable body count.

Killer Nerd 1991

Some of the kills, which look terrible thanks to the film’s $12,000 budget, are fun because Toby Radloff fully commits to the carnage. The problem is that there’s never a moment where Harold is remotely likeable. A couple of pithy one-liners could have elevated it, but what we get is a bumbling Harold who can barely hold it together.

His “makeover” reminds me of the time in South Park when Cartman tries to act nice, but instead just wears a nice sweater. When he’s called out on the fact that dressing nice and acting nice are two different things, he shrugs and admits he doesn’t know the difference. You get that same kind of clueless energy in Killer Nerd, but since Cartman is a lovable sociopath and Harold is just… Harold, the humor doesn’t land as much as I would have liked.

Killer Nerd 1991

At the end of the day, Killer Nerd is pretty terrible. When you consider its production budget and the overall chaotic energy everybody brings to the table, there’s an undeniable charm because it plays like a group of friends with no filmmaking experience trying to make a feature-length film. It reminded me of the times my friends and I would film skits just to pass the time, and that nostalgia was cool. But I’d be lying if I said the quality, and the juvenile sense of humor we celebrated, wasn’t about the same as what you see in Killer Nerd.

As of this writing, Killer Nerd is streaming free on Tubi.

Ariana Grande Pulls Out Of ‘American Horror Story’

Published

on

Ariana Grande on the red carpet

Ariana Grande’s highly anticipated debut in the “American Horror Story” universe has been put on hold due to an unavoidable scheduling conflict with her “Eternal Sunshine Tour.”

Grande is no newcomer to major Hollywood franchises, having starred in Universal Pictures’ two-part “Wicked” film series, but a source claims she is now “being extremely picky” about her next movie role.

The singer also recently made an “unfortunate” announcement, revealing that she had to reschedule several tour dates due to production issues.

Ariana Grande will no longer appear in FX’s “American Horror Story” Season 13, which premieres on September 24.

The “Thank U, Next” singer was initially announced as a cast member in October and would have joined familiar faces including Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Jessica Lange, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, John Waters, Frances Conroy, and Leslie Grossman.

However, sources confirmed that the pop superstar has had to withdraw from the upcoming season due to production schedule changes that conflict with her ongoing “Eternal Sunshine Tour,” per Deadline.

It is understood that she had not yet filmed any scenes for the season. While the focus of Season 13 has been kept under wraps, reports claim that John Carroll Lynch, Mena Suvari, and Matt Fraser will reprise characters they previously portrayed in the anthology series.

Grande Had Teased A Tiny ‘AHS’ Role

Grande’s appearance would have marked a major reunion with series creator Ryan Murphy after they worked together on the 2015 FOX comedy-horror series “Scream Queens,” where she famously played the ill-fated sorority sister Chanel #2.

It remains unclear what her role would have been, but she previously hinted that it would be brief, telling Variety last fall that she would likely have a “very tiny thing” to do while expressing gratitude for the opportunity to join the franchise.

“I know a little tiny bit [about the role], but what I know I can’t say,” she said. “I’ll probably have a very tiny thing to do in it, but I’ll be grateful to be a part of it because I love everyone involved.”

Ariana Grande Becomes More Selective In Hollywood

Grande has continued to build her acting career since her days as a child star on Nickelodeon’s “Victorious,” where she played Cat Valentine.

She later focused on music, earning multiple Grammy Awards before landing a major role in the “Wicked” film franchise, which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in 2025.

A source told Life & Style Magazine that following her success with “Wicked,” Grande has received more movie offers but has become highly selective. “Arianna doesn’t need praise or her face on billboards all over town constantly,” a source close to her business team said. “It’s not about ego for her, and everybody knows she’s not dipping her toe into movies because she needs the money.”

“She’s being extremely picky about filmmakers, and she’s quality-controlling everything she can when she commits to a project,” the insider added.

Grande Wants Every Movie To Stand Out

The insider went on to explain that Grande has no interest in making multiple movies each year simply for the paycheck, adding that money is no longer a driving force in her career.

“You’re not going to see her making three or four movies a year just because she can,” the source continued, adding that the pop star “wants every film she agrees to make to be special and singular, and that can mean saying ‘no’ to a lot of pretty tempting offers.”

The source also claimed that Grande is mindful of “overexposure,” but said her years in the spotlight have taught her when to “put her head down, duck out of sight and focus on the work.”

“This gives her a key advantage over other stars in her age bracket,” the insider noted, adding that Grande also knows “she’s in a class by herself” and was highly motivated to earn another Oscar nomination.

In the coming months, Grande remains busy with her “Eternal Sunshine Tour” and recently announced changes to three scheduled shows.

She revealed that her July 12 concert at New York’s Barclays Center would move to July 14. She also rescheduled two Boston performances at TD Garden, originally set for July 22 and July 24, to July 23 and July 26, respectively.

According to Page Six, Grande explained in an Instagram Story that the changes were necessary due to production issues and to ensure fans receive the full experience, “delivered safely and as intended.”

“We are so sorry for these unfortunate scheduling changes,” she wrote. “This was our best and safest option as these challenges with production have come to our attention.”

“The utmost important thing to us all is safety, first and foremost, and also making sure you all see the show how it is intended to run,” she continued. “Thank you so much for your understanding, and I cannot wait to see you.”

Young and Restless: Victor’s Brutal Collapse Finally Hits – Karma Crushes The Mustache

Published

on

Young and the Restless: Victor Newman (Eric Braeden)

Young and the Restless fans know Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has crossed so many lines that most of Genoa City is gunning for him at this point. Even his own family is seeing that he’s out of control, even though most of them are too scared to push back. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), of course, always defends daddy. But the others know he’s doing bad.

We’re going to talk about how Victor is about to get hit from all sides. Because some of his awful behavior may actually trigger some consequences this time.

Young and the Restless: Kyle’s Revenge Plan Against Victor

So, this week, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) showed up at the new ranch to confront Victor. He headed over there, asked Victor if he’s heard about what happened to his dad, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). And Victor is insulting and sarcastically says he didn’t force Jack to sleep with Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk). And won’t be blamed for these marital problems. But Kyle says his parents are better than ever, and taunts Victor, asking how is his marriage doing.

So, Victor keeps denying any blame and asking, “What did I have to do with this?” And Kyle reminds him that he brought Patty to town. And Victor warns Kyle that he’s overstepping. And Victor threatens to have Kyle tossed out. But he tells Victor he is going to make sure he pays for what he did to Jack and Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters).

Victor Mocks Kyle on Y&R

So, Victor’s mocking Kyle, calling these empty threats. And Victor also says plenty of people have tried to take him down and failed. So, it’s pointless for Kyle to even try. Clearly, Victor is awful and doesn’t feel bad about a single thing he’s done to anybody and things that he is still doing and planning to do. Jack getting stabbed and nearly dying and Diane being kidnapped by Patty didn’t even make Victor flinch or feel a shred of remorse. And with so many people fed up with Victor, I really hope we are going to see him face some consequences soon.

There are some red flags. We might. Even though we know that Josh Griffith is incapable of writing any sort of long-term karma for Victor, we might get a little bit. Because some people might try and stop Victor and force some consequences into play. And the top person who wants to see Victor pay right now is obviously Kyle Abbott.

This week he talks to Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) who said Victor is a big target but always seems to be missed. And Kyle vowed not this time. Then Billy asks what Kyle has planned and he doesn’t have a plan. But he went over to threaten Victor, which accomplished nothing other than Kyle getting more annoyed with the mustache.

Young and Restless: Patty’s Deal and Victor’s Downfall

And then this week, Kyle goes up to see crazy Patty Williams in her cell at the GCPD. And Y&R spoilers say Kyle offers Patty a deal. So, Kyle may dangle the offer of less or no prison time if she flips on Victor. I feel like Patty might take a deal like that after her recent arraignment went so badly. Michael reported to Diane that Patty made a scene in court and was hauled out and denied bail. So, by the time Kyle shows up, Patty might be desperate for a way out and her pal Dr. Laurence Markham (Jere Burns) has totally ghosted her, hung Patty out to dry and run off.

So, if Kyle convinces Patty that the Abbotts will help her, she might tell the cops Victor paid her to do all of this. Patty may say Victor hired her to kidnap and assault Jack, which is true, to kidnap Diane, to try and stab Jack and then try and finish him off in the hospital, which may or may not be true. Patty may blame all this on Victor. And in exchange, we could see Kyle agreeing that he will hire her a lawyer, maybe even Michael Baldwin. Because right now Patty’s got a crappy public defender that’s not doing much for her. So, Kyle might even dangle an offer where if Patty helps, she can go to a psych hospital instead of a state prison.

Patty Has Evidence Against Victor on Y&R

And since Victor paid Patty a whole bag full of cash to destroy Jack and Diane’s marriage, that’s some evidence. Patty might still have some of that cash, and it can be traced back to Victor’s bank. Plus, Patty has hated Victor for a long time. Patty tried to kill Victor years ago, so yeah, I think she’d roll over on him.

And Billy might want in on Kyle’s plan once he finds out that Victor is targeting Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) company, Spectra. That comes out soon. Because she just overheard Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire  Egan) talking and she knows Victor is coming after her company. And when Billy finds out, he will be fuming about that.

Speaking of Victor going after Spectra, him playing hardball with Sally’s company starts this week. And I suspect Chelsea demands that Adam conspire with her against Victor so they can protect Sally. We already know Adam has a big issue with Victor going after Sally’s company. Because she’s pregnant and he worries the stress will give her a miscarriage. But Victor insists that it’s Billy’s fault and that it’s really about him. But Chelsea doesn’t agree.

And while Adam has no issue targeting Billy, we saw Chelsea lecturing Adam about it. Chelsea sees no reason to sit by and let Victor go after Billy or Sally. So, she and Adam might actively try and thwart Victor, especially when Chelsea told Sally she and Adam will never go along with Victor’s plan. And Sally clapped back that Adam never sticks to it when he defies Victor, which is 100% true. So, Sally calling Adam out with that truth bomb might inspire him to agree with Chelsea to interfere with Victor’s plan.

Young and Restless: Family Turns Against Victor

And don’t forget, Jack and Diane are enraged that Victor brought Patty back. Jack does feel bad that he drove Patty off the deep end back in the day. But no way does Jack deserve to be kidnapped, drugged, assaulted, and then stabbed. And he knows Victor is behind all of this. So, Jack and Diane still want Victor to pay as well. And now that they’re reunited, once Jack heals up and is out of the hospital, he and Diane may look for a way to get some of their own revenge on Victor.

I would like to see them rally his own family against him. Because for starters, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) won’t like to hear that Victor nearly got her uncle Jack killed. Neither will Summer Newman. Plus, Kyle just rolled up on Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victoria and told them that Patty nearly killed his parents.

Victoria immediately went into denial about Victor playing a part in it. So, we’re going to see Nikki and Victoria going to visit Jack at the hospital. I’m sure he will reiterate what Kyle said. But Young and the Restless spoilers say that Nikki and Victor agreed to a fresh start this week. And that is after Victor accuses Nikki of betraying him. Which I’m sure is about her going to visit Jack. You know, whom Victor already demanded that Nikki cut out of her life if she wants to be with him.

Young and the Restless: Nikki Walks Away from Victor?

So, with Victor gaslighting Nikki and lying to her face about Patty, we could see Nikki doing her usual where she enables Victor. And excuses his behavior and says it’s just not true. To her credit, Nikki’s off-kilter right now. Because of her medical crisis. But if Patty rolls over on Victor and Christine Williams Romalotti (Lauralee Bell) comes to arrest him, then his days of denials are over. It’s fruitless.

Other Young and the Restless spoilers say that Nikki and Victor’s marriage faces more tests. And it could be the fact that Nikki can’t turn a blind eye, no pun intended, to what Victor did to Jack if he is arrested for these crimes. So, if Patty gives Victor up and Christine has him arrested and charged, then Nikki might change her tune and then we could see Victor finally facing some serious consequences that are long overdue.

I’ve got fingers crossed that Kyle can cut a deal with Patty. And get this revenge train rolling. But with Josh Griffith unfortunately still writing the CBS soap, Victor may walk out of this scot-free as usual, even if he is arrested, it’s no wonder that Josh was shown the door.

The $2 Billion Foot Content Industry & The Women Cashing In

Women are making upwards of $30,000 selling foot content online. The industry is now a multi-billion-dollar business. But how does it all work?

The Shade Room’s Justin Carter is sitting down with the industry’s top creators, Abby Nicole and Shamia “Mimi” Capers, as they detail how they create their content, and the subsequent “bidding wars” that ensue. But that’s not all, on this episode of ‘TSR Investigates,’ those doing the bidding wars also share their piece as well.

The $2 Billion Foot Content Industry & The Women Cashing In

According to Carter, content creator Abby Nicole records herself getting pedicures and brings in racks that go toward everyday expenses like groceries. Per Nicole, the $2 billion industry has afforded her over $100,000 within the last year, and down payments on luxury cars.

Meanwhile, Shamia “Mimi” Capers says creating feet content has put her in a position where she doesn’t have to “struggle” anymore.

“When I realized that I can make $50 in five minutes, and I ain’t never made $50 in one hour working at nobody’s job, I’m like, ‘Dang, if I really hone in on this, this could be a second lil job or whatever’… and it really just turned into something so much bigger,” Capers recalled.

More On The Industry & Those Dropping Their Coins

According to Capers, posting regularly, frequent uploads, and content that features good lighting, clear video, enticing angles, and engagement keep customers returning and buying more.

Scroll above to watch as Capers takes Carter step by step through the process of creating feet content. Additionally, details the movements and how to navigate creating face-versus-faceless content. Furthermore, Carter sits down with buyer Stu Worships, who opens up about spending $15,000 a year on feet content. Days of our Lives: Theo & Gabi’s Explosive Romance – Mom’s Deathbed Secret Changes All

Published

on

Days of Our Lives: Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews) - Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez)

Days of Our Lives fans. Right now, we have Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews) irritated and claiming that he wants nothing to do with Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez). And that’s because Theo thought that they were friends. But then Gabi blamed Theo for Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) finding out about her corporate spying. But all of that could change soon.

We’re going to get into why Theo might change his tune about Gabi and they could get closer soon. Much closer. And now, let’s dive into what might repair Theo and Gabi’s estranged friendship and add some sizzle to it.

Days of Our Lives: Theo and Gabi’s Betrayal and Reconciliation

Now, you may remember not long ago, Philip raged at Gabi after Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) spilled to him that she bugged his and Xander Cook Kiriakis’s (Paul Telfer) CEO office at Titan. And at the time, Philip dumped Gabi right in the middle of the square, enraged at her about choosing greed over their relationship. But Philip never told her who blabbed.

So, Gabi thought her buddy Theo ratted her out. He’d been crushing on Gabi for a while, but never once considered outing her dirty secret to Philip. Instead, when Theo was in the hospital after a kidnapping incident, he was even dreaming about kissing Gabi and staring at that cute little cactus. So, when she accused Theo of ratting her out, Gabi did it under the assumption that Theo did it to Philip to break them up because of his crush on her.

Days of our Lives: Gabi Comes Clean

And when Gabi told Theo that she read his journal, he really blew up at her for looking at his private thoughts. Theo saw that as a violation of trust and his feelings are hurt that Gabi so easily assumed that he would trash their friendship and rat her out. And even though Theo denied it, Gabi still wouldn’t drop it. Theo could not convince Gabi of his innocence.

Plus, Theo reminded Gabi that he was busy with his newly resurrected mom, Lexie Carver (Nikki Crawford). At that time, Theo was pretty much up at the hospital constantly with Lexie and Abe Carver (James Reynolds). So, Gabi and her corporate spying wasn’t even on his radar. And then recently, Philip revealed to Gabi that it was Anna DiMera (Leann Hunely) told him the truth. But by then, the damage had been done to Theo and Gabi’s friendship. So, here we are and Theo is really struggling right now.

Days of Our Lives: Theo’s Betrayals and Emotional Crisis

Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) just told Theo that Stefano DiMera is why Lexie got cancer and died to start with. That’s not really what the history of Days of our Lives says, but it’s what the writers are saying now, so it’s what we’ve got. So, Theo’s angry that even as an adult, Abe and the rest of the family kept that secret from him. Even though it’s been fifteen years since Lexie died from a brain tumor caused by toxins in the DiMera tunnels, that information is new to Theo and it’s left him absolutely reeling.

Plus, this week, Lexie told Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) that she does not have long to live, but she doesn’t want to tell Abe and Theo just yet. So, that’s another heartache coming for Lexie’s son. This week, Theo finds out from Abe that he was conspiring with EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) to push him out of the CEO role at DiMera. And that came from Abe approaching EJ, asking him to help him get Theo out of the family business.

And that was even before Theo and Abe knew about Lexie’s coming resurrection. But EJ agreed because he wanted Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) in the CEO seat. And then EJ told Theo that his mom Lexie probably wouldn’t like him working at DiMera. That came after EJ showed Theo that Lexie was alive and about to wake up and come back to them.

Days of our Lives: Theo is Raging

So, Theo’s upset about Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) role in his mom dying. He’s also really angry right now that Abe and EJ manipulated him. And this double whammy betrayal sends Theo to Small Bar where he is drowning in booze this week. Then Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) shows up to do the same thing after Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) chewed her a new one.

It was for deleting the voicemail Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins) sent about her and her daughter being in a car crash. Alex called out Stephanie for her petty jealousy. Even her mom, Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans), thought Stephanie went too far. And her conspiracy theory about Joy intentionally wrecking her car to get Alex’s attention was insane.

When Stephanie hinted at that to Alex, he exploded because he knew Joy driving on a spare wasn’t a good idea. But Alex was balancing concern over his daughter’s safety with running home to Stephanie because of all her issues. So, Alex blames himself for the crash because he let Stephanie’s anger and jealousy take priority over the baby’s safety. I can’t say Alex is wrong when he called out Stephanie’s actions. And Alex said she was making a stressful situation worse.

Days of our Lives: Stephanie’s Questionable Choices

And mind you, none of this would nearly be as messy if Stephanie hadn’t doubled dosed sedatives while she had jet lag and then shot a gun at Joy. A gun that Stephanie should have had locked in her gun safe. So, no, her hands are not clean in this. However, we all know Joy’s up to something.

So, it’s quite messy. And that’s why she’s at Small Bar drinking. And then Theo seems to be so tipsy that Stephanie brings him home and lets him crash shirtless on her and Alex’s couch. Now, can you imagine if Stephanie came home and found Joy half-dressed on the sofa? But back to Theo. After drinking with Stephanie and venting, things get even worse for Theo.

Days of Our Lives: Lexie’s Health Crisis and Theo’s Rock Bottom

Because despite Lexie not wanting Theo and Abe to know she’s dying, she won’t be able to hide it for much longer. We saw EJ appalled when he came home and found Lexie on the floor unconscious. And Rita told EJ that Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) was worried about the heat and he just took off because none of the serums were helping Lexie anyway. And Rita reminded EJ that Wilhelm warned them that Lexie would be falling unconscious for longer and longer periods until she just passes away.

So, that means Theo and Abe will figure out pretty quickly that Lexie’s in bad shape because she’s going to be just passing out cold. So she winds up hospitalized soon. With Wilhelm gone, she’s going to need a real doctor to usher her through this final stage of her second chance at life.

Days of Our Lives: Theo Carver – Gabi Hernandez

Days of our Lives: Theo May Lean on Gabi

And when Theo is blindsided by all of this, he could turn to Gabi for support. She’s been showing up to see Theo trying to apologize for her incorrect assumption. She gave him a new journal, but she was also hitting him up for a payout of her share of Stefano’s inheritance.

And as mad as Theo is at Gabi, he is still going to need a friend as he navigates his mom Lexie’s coming second death. And after Alex finds Theo shirtless on his couch after boozing with Stephanie, I’m guessing Theo isn’t going to be welcome to hang out with Stephanie again because Alex is going to be really upset by all this. So, with nobody else to talk to, Theo might turn to Gabi and forgive her for her screw-up so that he can have a shoulder to cry on.

Days of our Lives: Sizzling Summer Romance Ahead?

Theo hasn’t been seeing anybody romantically since sort of dating Jada Hunter for a minute that fizzled out really fast. And Gabi is single as a pringle after Philip dropped her so hard. And I doubt he will be taking Gabi back. Jada is with Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) now anyway, so she’s not going to be an ear for Theo.

I think if Gabi and Theo get together, starting as friends and then it turning into more, they could actually be a Days of Our Lives super couple in the making. They could be Salem’s hot new power couple by the end of the summer. But I think Theo and Gabi won’t get together until Lexie winds up in the hospital again. And Theo hits an emotional rock bottom and really needs a friend and Gabi steps up.

Feature What Andrew Yang Hopes Donald Trump Thinks of His Nations Dumbest Stint

Former presidential hopeful Andrew Yang wasn’t scared to face Donald Trump in the 2020 campaign — and he’s certainly not worried about competing against him now.

“I hope he watches,” Yang, 51, exclusively told Us Weekly on Thursday, July 9, of the current president catching a glimpse of his upcoming Fox show, Nation’s Dumbest. “He does seem to love reality TV, so I hope he tunes in to see what real leadership looks like.”

The political pundit suggested Trump, 80, tune into the fun-loving game show, which tests the smarts of celebrities like Ice-T, Dr. Drew Pinsky, Carmen Electra, Steve-O, Hilaria Baldwin, JoJo Siwa and more, with the First Family.

“Maybe he can watch it with his kids and grandkids. I don’t think Donald Trump does that sort of thing. I don’t really visualize watching fun reality TV with his grandkids,” Yang added. “But who knows? Who knows what’s going on in there?”

The Forward Party founder nominated America’s lawmakers for season two of Nation’s Dumbest.

“I would recommend all of our nation’s leading political figures. I think that would be fun and fascinating. America deserves to know who’s in charge,” he stated. “Unfortunately, I think a lot of them would not agree to come on and some might be past whatever the legal age limit is.”

Yang wouldn’t sweat if it came down to him versus Trump on Fox’s freshman game show, either.

“Let’s just say he would not be the competition I’d be worried about. He’d probably be there for quite some time,” Yang joked to Us.

The 2020 presidential candidate puts his smarts to the test, answering a series of questions and performing outrageous challenges that pushes him and his costars to the limits both physically and mentally.

JoJo Siwa is revealing the one topic she and her boyfriend, Chris Hughes, don’t discuss in their one-year relationship after he spoke up for her against online trolls. “He’s always very supportive, and I actually just read that same article,” Siwa, 23, exclusively told Us at the junket for Fox’s Nation’s Dumbest on Thursday, July […]

Yang tried to manage his expectations before coming into the competition.

“I thought if you come in saying you’re going to be right off the show, then you’re going to screw up. You’re going to have more pressure on you. You might even come across as someone who’s too cool for school,” he shared. “And so I said to myself and my wife and my team, it’s an indeterminate length. I don’t really know [how long I’ll last]. So that was my attitude coming in.”

The synopsis for Nation’s Dumbest reads, “Summer school is in session with the debut of Nation’s Dumbest, a new celebrity competition series that flips the traditional format on its head — because this is the only show where winning is the last thing anyone wants. Taking attendance as host is acclaimed comedian Jack Whitehall, who presides over the chaos as contestants relive the highs and humiliations of school life — from pop quizzes and report cards to recess and parent teacher conferences — all while trying to stay out of last place.”

The description concludes: “Each week, the ‘smartest’ celebrity graduates, narrowing the field until a high-stakes final exam determines who will be left standing with the distinction no one wants — the title of The Nation’s Dumbest.”

Nation’s Dumbest debuts on Fox Wednesday, July 15, at 9 p.m. ET and streams the next day on Hulu.
